He possessed Amalie by the moon’s sultry glow and sent her to the white-hot limits of ecstatsy. But by day, her husand, Julien Declouet, remained aloof. Who was this myserious man whose languid caress and sweet seduction she craved? Yet deep in her heart, she knew the answer. Her midnight lover was not her husband, but his handsome cousin, Robert….

On a warm, dark night in Creole country of Louisiana, mid-nineteenth century, Amalie Peachier Declouet wonders why any woman would call what had just happened, a duty. It was pleasure like she’d never realized could be—pure ecstasy that left her feeling complete and loved. She was, indeed, a married woman now in every sense of the word–not a spinster left on the self after six years of mourning with no prospects.

Julian Declouet, Amalie’s husband, has her dressed in the latest styles and proudly displays her for all to see. His mother Sophia soon gives over any of the duties of running the plantation household to Amalie, whom the slaves start calling “petite maitresse”. Her skills, industrious nature, and sincere concern for free and slave alike endears her to the people of Belle Grove, the Declouet plantation on Bayou Teche. Only the overseer Patrick Dye is disrespectful and makes suggestive, crude remarks to her every chance he gets. Julian and Sophia tell Amalie to ignore him, but refuse to consider firing him–hm!

Julian has no interest in the day by day running of the plantation, he just enjoys the money it affords him so he can pursue his pleasures. Erectile dysfunction has buy viagra no prescription been the most common sexual activities, but there is such a strong stigma associated with it. His cousin Robert, whom Sophia reared with love from age five, can be depended on to see that Belle Grove prospers just as he sees to the well-being of his own plantation, The Willows.

The secondary characters like Chloe (Sophia’s goddaughter) and George the Englishman gardener; Madame Callot, the gossiper; Violet, somewhat of a mystery woman; Lally, Tige, and little Isa (all slaves), add sub-plots and emotional involvements that intrigue as they propel the story of the Declouets along its troubled way with its undercurrents of secrets and fears that surface from time to time keeping the reader tantalized with foreshadowing, clues, back stories, and glimpses of secret, deep-seated needs of the characters—so much to enjoy.

Jennifer Blake creates a story full of mystery, misery, and magic of love. Her narrative of the unique styles of homes gives the reader a vicarious experience of feeling the cross breeze circulation through the house on a hot, humid summer night. Her description of the flood on Bayou Teche and the aftermath engages the reader’s senses and emotions as she brings to life the mud and misery of aching weariness as all work to save and revive Belle Grove. Another mind-shattering event comes alive as she describes the hurricane on Isle Derniere when winds, rain, and raging waters of the hurricane roar in like a mad beast killing and destroying without mercy. Ms. Blake takes one’s breath away with the realness of it all. She ramps up the anxiety with the antagonist surprises presence that threatens to destroy all that the hurricane had not. However, the crown jewel of the story is the love story that threads through it all like the golden thread in a tapestry that enriches its warmth and sparkle as it reveals a surprise, or maybe not-so-surprising, soul mate connect.

Midnight Waltz suggests darkness and sensuality and it delivers in spades—super good reading!

Two temperamental hearts in the glittering Regency might be lucky enough to have a second chance at love!

Lady Serena Carlow’s eccentric father left her guardianship to the man she jilted, and now Ivo, the Marquis of Rotherham has complete control over her! Serena is displeased to say the least. But when she spends time with the Marquis, she can’t help but wonder if the feelings stirred up are sheer aggravation or of a more tender nature…

Imagine breaking your engagement with a man you thought was too stubborn and then finding him as your “trustee” after your father’s death. What could be worse? How about your cousin getting your home?

Georgette Heyer first wrote this story in 1955 and Sourcebooks is republishing it. I’ve read her work before in the mystery genre, but this was my first romance I’ve read by her. She does an wonderful job with romances, also.

Ms. Heyer is excellent at creating well thought out plots and capturing your attention right at the beginning of her stories. Her main character, Serene, is a head-strong, independent woman, who doesn’t care what people think of her riding hunters or taking walks unchaperoned. Her stepmother is much more meek and mild and is scandalized by her behavior. These two dissimilar women are forced to live together in the era of the early 1800’s. Ms. Heyer does an excellent job of showing how they drove each other nuts because they dealt with things differently.

This author always makes her characters’ relationships complex and full of moral conundrums. No one simply falls in love and marries. We all know that frostbite can mean loss of the affected parts. cheap discount viagra Impotence comes about as a result of psychological factors, physiological disorders or mode of lifestyle. cialis 10 mg You just need to take cheap viagra order approximately one hour before you intent to love making. They have to overcome hardships, work their way through social customs, and sometimes admit they have made a mistake.

This story was great fun to read because everyone got engaged to the wrong person. This would really make a good play. It’s a comedy of errors, full of proud characters that are determined to live life their own way, and it turns out to be a house of cards.

The cards really start falling about three quarters through the story and I couldn’t wait to see just how she ended this. I felt like I knew her characters well enough to know who should be matched with whom, but I had no idea how she was going to make it work. Ms. Heyer was astute enough to add one more twist in at the end that made me smile.

The author uses a lot of words in her stories and they bog me down a bit in my reading. However, her stories are always attractive enough I keep reading and really enjoy what she does. After all, in the time of the Regency era, things didn’t move very swiftly…

The best part is that Sourcebooks is reprinting all her books, so you have even more opportunities to read her tales. They are well worth the read.

Chivalry is far from undead…

Matthew Halkett, Earl of Blodswell, is one of the few men in the ton who can claim to be a knight in shining armor- because that’s precisely what he was before being turned into a vampyre. When he spies a damsel in distress in the midst of a storm in Hyde Park, his natural instinct is to rush to her aid…

But not every woman needs to be rescued…

Weather-controlling witch Rhiannon Sinclair isn’t caught in a storm-she’s the cause of it. She’s mortified to have been caught making trouble by the imposing earl, but she doesn’t need any man-never has, and is sure she never will…

But when Rhiannon encounters Matthew again, her powers go awry and his supernatural abilities run amok. Between the two of them, the ton is thrown into an uproar. There’s never been a more tempestuous scandal…

A man born in chivalrous times past is no match for a feisty and seductive Scottish weather witch, and watching the lightening flash and his fangs pop is only the beginning of the fun in store for readers in Ms. Dare’s latest romance.

First, this is a great stand alone book. For fans of the series, they’ll get to see one of the Westfield brothers again and one of Rhiannon’s sister witches. If this is the first time for a reader, those same people will come across as interesting and fun secondary characters. Either kind of reader will find entertainment and humor throughout and should find that Ms. Dare has once again provided a great storytelling experience.

Rhiannon has her story this time around and she is written as a woman who is loyal, fiercely protective, loving and giving but with bit of a temper to rival Zeus or Thor when crossed. Perhaps it has something to do with her propensity to hurl some well placed lightning bolts or two but the results are giggle-worthy and it was fun.

In the past, I believe I got a sense that her dad was a bit absent minded and at first, it didn’t seem that big a deal. The author lets a reader in on a big secret that presents a very real and touching emotional hook. It made me want to give Rhiannon a hug. Having a parent who seems disinterested in a child has deep ramifications no matter how adept the offspring become at hiding its affects. I was pretty impressed with how the author wove those sentiments throughout the story, and how it touched and influenced the other characters.

One person in particular gets the brunt of the heroine’s ire and saucy teasing and that’s Matthew, the hero. I was tickled when I found out that this man who’d given up on hope and accepted his life’s course should actually find love. I tremendously enjoyed watching him fall apart. This pharmaceutical ought not to be taken by individuals taking viagra sale canada other medication containing nitrates. Parent taught drivers buy viagra usa are more likely to have an incident in their first year of driving than professionally taught students. Without sexual stimulation the brain does not send any signal which find out over here now cialis prescription australia translates to no erections. Erectile diffusion is a very common source of stress and pressure best online cialis and chill. Ms. Dare was deliciously coy with the details; it started out small, like a pebble going downhill turning into a landslide. It picked up speed and bowled the poor guy over with the truth. For all his knowledge and experience over his vast existence, the hero simply had no clue about the true power of love. It was pure romance.

As I mentioned before, there are some great secondary characters that spice up this tale and many revolve around the heroine’s best friend Cait’s husband, Dash. He has brothers and they all become protective of Rhiannon to the point of hilariousness. Don’t get me wrong, there are some serious, all out spooky moments where I didn’t know if someone was going to get shredded to ribbons or dead. Ms. Dare balanced the drama and suspense well enough that it never bogged the story down but enhanced the telling of it. There is also one special character that really had the makings for a vicious enemy. The person was certainly capable of evil and nasty attacks and I couldn’t figure out which way to think. Amazingly enough, the author chose the high road in a very unconventional battle that tested the mettle of the heroine. It was Rhiannon who made the difference and who saw clearly what the true nature of the threat was. What an impressive bit of writing!

The only person or part I didn’t care for was Aunt Greer. I guess I’m more vengeful or bloodthirsty because I would have not done what was ultimately done with her. I’ll let readers decide if it was foolish or magnanimous.

In the Heat of the Bite is a delightful romance that paranormal fans can sink their teeth into and find sweet-tart entertainment from beginning to end. The happily ever after was poignant and beautiful. The scenes leading up to it were vastly amusing due to Rhiannon’s fascination with Matthew’s teeth. I found myself laughing and sighing all at the same time. I can’t wait for Alec’s story; it can’t come soon enough.

One thing I do know is it’s a guarantee that Ms. Dare’s next book will be an auto-buy for me. For some reason, I can’t get enough!

A chance to make a single lasting impression and hopefully garner a proposal for Sophie, an opportunity to become reacquainted with an old beau and gain a promise for Miranda, and a duty to fulfill by finding a willing and necessary heiress for Rye…all they need is Just One Season in London!

National Bestselling Author Leigh Michaels is well known for historical romances that sweep the reader along for epic adventures. Her characters will have you falling in love right along with them as they search for love in all the right places and manage to find it in the most unexpected places instead. This holds true for Lady Miranda Ryecroft, her son Viscount Ryecroft (Rye) and daughter Miss Sophronia Ryecroft (Sophie).

The Ryecrofts have lost so much since the death of their father and Miranda’s husband. All they have left is land that needs planting, a rambling manor in need of repairs, and their love and devotion to one another. Ms. Michaels has such a poignant way of building the characters up in the minds of the readers, I found myself worrying right along with them, considering all their options and finally rejoicing at how they each find their happily ever after.

Just One Season in London is a Regency historical and Ms. Michaels does a fantastic job of keeping true to the time period. If you’ve read this genre before you know that there are strict rules with the Ton. There are those that have money and title that is inherited and then there is the working class. Oftentimes the two cross when a member of the Ton marries down or one from the working class marries up. Both situations are highly frowned upon because it mixes “bad blood” either way. There is an underlying story about class distinction in Ms. Michael’s story that illustrates this outdated school of thought and the benefits of simply not caring.

Also, I must mention that Ms. Michaels uses a POV technique that I’ve not often seen and is difficult to pull off without confusing the reader. Within the pages of this novel the reader is treated to knowing what is going on with each character simultaneously in any given situation. It doesn’t come off as head hopping so much as a single continuing story where the directions and decisions made by Miranda, Rye and Sophie converge to produce a single fantastic journey.

I laughed, I sighed and I did my very best to steer the charismatic Ryecroft family in the right direction. Lucky for them, Ms. Michaels had their stories all planned out and it was terrific to sit back and watch. If beautiful settings, clever dialogue and heartwarming love stories are what you’re in the mood for then Just One Season in London is a true can’t miss. Move it to the top of you TBR, you won’t be sorry!

It’s OK no one remembers Etruscan Sun goddess Tessa. But when a demon threatens her life, she must turn to mythology’s darkest warrior for protection…

Caligo of the Cimmerians has never met a woman as warm, sunny and inviting as Tessa. Their sizzling mutual attraction quickly sweeps the two of them into a love story that’s worthy of the gods…

Old gods versus new gods and the power plays they conspire to achieve wreck havoc on those that get in their way. This story about Caligo and Tessa takes readers on a hot and furious ride as the hero and heroine try to outwit a powerful foe while trying to resist the passion brewing between them at the same time. Something has to give and finding out who or what has to be sacrificed kept me riveted.

The first thing Ms. Julian does is set up for a reader the basis for Caligo’s internal conflict. It’s a pretty gritty scene and provided nice insight into the gruff and rough personality that makes up the hero. Cal, as he’s referred to through most of the book, is a Cimmerian. I’d never heard of them before and I got a kick out of how the author provided details with a subtle and deft hand. The information comes through dialogue, some internal discourse and from some of the secondary characters during the course of the tale. I liked that because every tidbit and hint was one more reason to keep on reading.

Cal is a fun character. He’s seen and done things that no ordinary human man can and yet his problems are basic to all humanity. When he meets Tessa, the heroine, and realizes something about her, he is almost helpless to resist her. It’s his needs and how they connect to him emotionally that resonated with me. His appeal is his trying to resist her in his manly way, and failing. How can a man ignore and push away something that is an intrinsic part of himself? A reader finds out and there’s one scene where I felt very sad for the hero. It was sweet, poignant and actually quite romantic when his mood gets lifted. I got my happy back when he did.

Tessa is in way over her head. It’s her external conflict that brings Cal and her together as well as providing movement and motivation for the plot. She’s an old goddess who has had a cold dash of humility thrust upon her. She’s hanging on to her current life by her fingernails and she’s running out of time and options. In spite of her dire situation, she retains her spunk, her hope and her attitude. Therefore it’s better to go ahead and take product one hour prior to prescription de cialis the sexual activity. I also enjoyed the scenes where she doesn’t deny herself physical satisfaction. She may not be the prominent goddess she once was but she sure knows her way around a man’s basic needs and that made for some very steamy and entertaining reading.

Speaking of hot stuff – the very first time Tessa meets Cal knocked my socks off with a scorching bed scene that inspired my need for ice cubes. Turnabout is fair play and Ms. Julian has the hero and heroine taking turns driving each other sexually nuts and then delivering satisfaction with well written dialogue and descriptions.

For secondary characters I liked Cal’s dad. His father contributed a nice bit of internal conflict for Cal which in turn made the hero a more likable personality. It provided depth, more emotion and a delightful and exciting surprise cementing my enjoyment of this book.

Salvatorus is another secondary character that is important to the storyline. He’s humorous, cunning and a good friend to both hero and heroine. There are a few times Cal is less than happy with Sal’s contributions which surprised a few grins and giggles out of me. Their dialogue and interactions provided lighthearted entertainment and were some of my favorite parts.

Then there is the villain. It’s the threat he poses that is more in the forefront than his actual physical presence. I enjoyed the unique way the author has him pursuing Tessa and it contributed a decent amount of tension, action and opportunities for heroism. I never knew when or where the bad guy would show up and it kept the thread of suspense present throughout most of the book. I couldn’t stop reading.

What a Goddess Wants provides a thrilling and unique spin on the gods and goddesses of old while giving readers spice, passion and action all the way through. I adored how Cal and Tessa played off of each other and showcased their strengths and weaknesses. Together they make an impressive couple and I had a great time getting to know their characters. The happily ever after is both sweet and saucy and totally satisfying. Based upon how Ms. Julian ended the story, I’m pretty sure the bad guy is going to be coming back for round two. I’m looking forward to the adventure.

Full of characters obsessed with Jane Austen and set in Jane Austen locations in England, this lively modern Jane Austen romantic comedy trilogy features two pairs of lonely hearts who find each other and themselves at a Jane Austen Addicts weekend.

Dr. Katherine Roberts is a Jane Austen lecturer at St Bridget’s College, Oxford, who secretly loves the racy Regency novels of Lorna Warwick. But Lorna is really a man who’s slowly been falling in love with Katherine. He’s hoping that the Jane Austen Addicts weekend will be the perfect opportunity to declare his feelings…

A book based on people obsessed with Jane Austen was what initially intrigued me about this story, and what ultimately keep me entertained from beginning to end.

One aspect of this story that I really loved was that it followed two developing relationships. You have Katherine and Warwick, and Robyn and Dan. Both relationships were equally as important, and I was happy to see both being played out simultaneously. Katherine and Warwick’s relationship begins in deceit no matter how well-meaning the lie, and once you start with deceit it is hard to really build a strong foundation. Robyn and Dan’s relationship had one large complication: Jace, Robyn’s boyfriend for years. Even if she has grown out of him, can she really leave the man who has been part of her life for so long to follow her heart? Robyn’s dilemma is definitely a mind vs. It may seem to be trivial in the beginning that indicate on-set cialis generika 40mg of type 2 diabetes. I’ll admit that I am not a huge Jane Austen fan. I think it is important to say this because, while I am not an Austen fan, I absolutely enjoyed this story. It helped me learn more about the famous author and actually intrigued me enough to make me want to read some of Jane Austen’s stories.

This story is a based in modern time, but it also has a historical feel to it since it is based around a Jane Austen conference. This was a great way to blend modern with historical in my opinion. I have read both modern and historical stories and some who have attempted to blend the two. I think that this story is one that others can use as a great example on how to accomplish this best. At moment, I felt as if I might have been reading a story that was 200 years old, yet it still felt extremely modern. This is a story I would recommend to anyone who loves a good romance novel.

Recently divorced, Anna Fox decides to cheer herself up by retracing a journey that her great-grandmother, Louisa, made in the mid-nineteenth century from Luxor to the Valley of Kings on a Nile cruise. Anna carries with her two of Louisa’s possessions: an ancient Egyptian scent bottle and an illustrated diary of the original cruise that has laid unread for more than a hundred years. Meanwhile, two men from the tour party begin to develop an unfriendly rivalry for her attention and a disturbing interest in Louisa’s mementos. As she follows in Louisa’s footsteps, Anna discovers a wonderful love story from the Victorian past, along with chilling secrets and terrifying specters that haunted her great-grandmother—and will soon begin to pursue her, too.

Anna Fox is recently divorced and free from her controlling husband, but she doesn’t know what to do with herself. Her aunt suggests she retrace a Nile cruise her great-grandmother had taken years before. She says yes, but doesn’t realize just what awaits her in Egypt…

Ms. Erskine writes a very solid novel. Every word she uses is there for a purpose and she weaves pictures of Egypt and its scenery, imbues you with a sense of danger, and makes you wonder if anyone is safe on this journey. Her plot is well thought out with lots of nooks and crannies for secrets to hide in. And she uses the diary from the past for good effect in this cruise in the contemporary time period. If you are at all familiar with Egyptian myths, they have gods they honor. Not all of them are nice gods, either. When Anna gets on the plane to go to Egypt, she meets her first odd character. He’s not the least bit friendly or even socialable sitting next to her. But he has interest in her great grandmother’s diary…

The author starts Anna out as a shy type after years of her husband controlling her and telling her what was appropriate for her life as his wife. As the cruise continues, she runs into other men of this type, but she starts to come out of her shell and lets them know she won’t be treated that way. By the end of the story, after fighting gods and attempting to keep her artifacts from being stolen, Anna is returning to a woman with full confidence that can make her own decisions. The transition is fun to read about.

All the characters in the “diary” and in the current day are believable and strong. The gods follow the traditional legends and are just as nasty as they were in those stories. It’s full bodied story with lots of twists and turns that holds your attention until the last page.

I especially enjoyed the Egyptian lore and the visit to the country. Why not get yourself a copy of this book and go on a Nile cruise, too?
