He was the high school bad boy … and the boy she fell in love with.

Sheriff Savannah “Savvy” Douglas fell in love with a bad boy who walked out of her life. Ten years did little to dull the feelings she had for him. But a year ago he stopped calling and texting, leaving her with nothing but questions.

Dr. Brody Collins was about to return to the town he grew up in … and the town where the love of his life still resided. He’d broken all communications with her for a year when his past caught up with him. But he was ready to rectify the situation.

Will Savvy forgive him and give them the chance they lost out on ten years ago?

Brody might be the school bully, but when they’re both hauled to the principal’s office after a fight Savannah can see that Brody’s drunk father is very likely abusive – and that Brody, for all his apparent bad behavior, is just a lonely kid stuck in an awful situation. Then and there Savannah decides she wants to protect and help other kids like that. Years later Brody and Savannah meet up again, and this time neither of them are children anymore.

I found this to be an interesting and sexy short story. The chemistry between Brody and Savannah was intense and believable. While there was a good amount of the story dedicated to explaining how Savannah and Brody came to know each other as teenagers in their small town I felt this gave a good basis for their relationship to blossom as they re-met as adults. This also helped me find the fast pace of their romance more realistic – as they had a year of being close friends in high school as well as almost a decade of keeping in touch via text and calls since then. All together it formed a solid and realistic basis to me and helped me really feel their relationship was grounded in something more than just chemistry or sexual desire.

I was a little disappointed at how Savannah reacted to Body returning to town for her – as he had promised when they were teenagers – after not contacting her for a year. Having been in frequent contact for over nine years I could completely understand Savannah being upset, angry and hurt by Brody not communicating with her for a long time previous to his return, but I really feel she should have known Brody well enough by this stage, and should have trusted him enough, to know that there would be a painful, complicated and genuine reason for his absence in her life. I was pleased this misunderstanding was patched up and explained fairly promptly – but it felt just a little too clichéd and forced to me, a bit like the author “needed” some conflict and this was the easiest solution. It also lessened my respect for Savannah as a character – that she’d act out of anger and hurt and not try to be more mature and reasonable and trust that Brody had a decent explanation and hear him out.

Steamy and erotic, this short story packs a hell of an erotic punch. Set in an interesting small town I’d be interested to read short stories based around other characters here. Fun and sensual Savannah and Brody turned their relationship into a great story and I mostly enjoyed reading about them.

This single man is ready to settle down and become a husband and a father, but will his woman give him the time of day?

Just before leaving high school Max hadn’t known that one cruel verbal jab at Aria would open the flood gates, leading to everyone bullying her about her weight. It was now years later, but neither Aria nor Max had forgotten or moved on, and Max wanted that to change. When Aria joins a dating website, determined to kick-start her romantic life, Max knows it’s time for him to pull out all the stops and claim Aria as his own.

I enjoyed this sexy story. I found Aria and Max to both be interesting characters, and was pleased to read along as Max struggled with his feelings for Aria. The relationship between Max and Aria was a complicated one, and while it was clear from the beginning that they’d end up together and very happy, neither of them found it easy to overcome their shared history. This added a lot of tension and conflict between the two of them and made their path proverbially rocky.

While I genuinely enjoyed both their characters and was pleased they needed to both work to create a romantic connection, I couldn’t help but feel the plot itself was fairly standard. I didn’t find much freshness or anything too unique about their situation. While the characters themselves were interesting and enjoyable, the situation between Max and Aria felt a little bit cookie-cutter to me. It was not really too different to dozens of other stories out there and while there was a level of comfort in that, I can’t honestly say when I finished that it was the sort of book I was eager to immediately re-read.

That said, the sex scenes and chemistry between Aria and Max was certainly hot and plentiful. Readers looking for sizzling erotica should definitely find themselves satisfied with the heat level in this story. There is a little bit of very mind BDSM play (Aria is blindfolded) and some light anal play – but I felt these were fairly mildly written and readers used to a bit of heat and kink in their erotica shouldn’t find it pushes the envelope too far.

With a deliciously happy ending, plenty of steamy sex and a lovely relationship blossoming between Aria and Max this is a fun and sensual story that I feel plenty of readers will enjoy.

In contrast, Jim Sieber understands the regret that makes him seek pain and penance. As an asexual averse to erotic touch, Jim sets strict boundaries. But as the relationship evolves, Grant struggles to respect them, and both men realize for their association to continue and perhaps grow into real feelings, they’ll have to explore new ways to satisfy each other.

Jim wasn’t really into BDSM, but his need to feel his mistakes cleansed away by physical pain was overwhelming everything else in his life. What he needed had nothing to do with sex – he didn’t want touching or intimate contact at all – and Jim discovered that therein lay a serious problem, as any Dom who might give him what he craves would also want to supply aftercare and Jim wouldn’t – couldn’t – accept that. Grant was an incredibly wealthy and powerful CEO of his extensive family business. He was always in control and perfectly calm. But all that internalizing was causing his health to suffer and the only way Grant knew to release the pressure was to give pain, to dabble as a Dom. When Grant is introduced to Jim and it’s suggested Jim could be his whipping boy, both men feel this could be the perfect answer to their individual problems.

I found this to be an interesting and somewhat different style of story. I was pleased the author spent a fair bit of time at the start clearly explaining both who Jim and Grant were and why their needs were exactly how they were. I found that each man has non-cookie-cutter requirements and while they can certainly be simplified I felt a lot better and more confidant of the story-line having them clearly and fully explained up front right at the start of the story. It also helped ease me – I had been a little concerned the whole “whipping boy” thing might have a darker slant or be slightly unhealthy. I was impressed and very relieved when this concern was proved completely wrong. Having both their characters, their needs and seeing the two men interact for the first time and show they were compatible and could give the other what they needed really helped me feel good and positive about the story as a whole and had me eager to continue going. I strongly feel this was exceptional writing, plotting, pacing and characterization on the part of the author.

Personally, I wasn’t bothered in the least that neither Jim nor Grant wanted anything sexual from their BDSM/beating encounters. I felt confidant and reassured that the unusual business arrangement between the two men was healthy and despite this being an erotic romance story it didn’t unsettle me that – initially at least – neither man wanted or needed anything sexual. Chemistry and relationships come in many different flavours and for myself I was intrigued to see how this different relationship would develop and pan out. I could certainly understand though that this might not be every reader’s cup of tea. For almost the entire story, Jim and Grant don’t show chemistry in the usual sense – no sexual tension, no glances or steaminess, no flirting etc – and even more importantly there is no sexual intimacy (and even then it’s unconventional) between them until the very end of the story. Readers looking for an erotic BDSM with aftercare and kink and sexual chemistry won’t find that in the traditional sense at all in this story.

Readers looking for something completely different should be as delighted as I was though. While I feel the characters are completely understandable and relatable – a wealthy CEO with family drama and an asexual stripper weighed down with guilt and wanting to atone for his sins – there is so much that I felt was completely fresh and outside of the box here. Once my concerns about the whipping boy aspect of this plot was relieved I found myself really enjoying this story and the different take on what a BDSM relationship could possibly be. I felt this story was still strongly about the relationship and characters and the only “box” it can really fit into is erotic romance, due to the strong BDSM elements, but there was so much more to it than that. I really enjoyed this and will be eagerly re-reading it soon to enjoy these differences once again

I feel this story is well written with relatable characters who know what their needs are and watching as they finally find someone who can give them what they crave is lovely. Refreshingly different this is a great story that I truly enjoyed.

Catherine has her own battles to fight, her own problems to solve, and her own life choices to live with. She hasn’t got time for anything else right now. How far will they go for love?

As a former Gunnery Sergeant, Paul Winters was used to doing what it took to get the job done, and helping out around the small complex and trailer park where he’d settled helped pay the bills. Catherine worked hard picking up odd jobs and slowly chipping away at the crushing debt her parents’ medical bills had left her with. While they both were working hard to juggle their own lives, neither could deny the attraction they felt for the other.

I found this to be a lovely, slow-burning sexy romance. I really enjoyed how the author allowed us as readers to get a good, solid feel for what both Catherine and Gunny were like as characters, as well as their own personal situations were before sparking the flame of attraction between them. I also enjoyed how both Gunny and Catherine weren’t just simplistic, two-dimensional characters. Each of them had a solid history and plenty of things outside their blossoming romance going on in their lives. This helped the story feel far richer to me, and more complex than just two people falling in love and starting a life together.

Personally, I really enjoyed the slow-burn style of romance this story showed between Gunny and Catherine. For me, considering they’d never really met or spoken, only seen each other around their apartment complex in passing, the slower pace of them getting to know each other made sense and made the relationship as a whole feel more logical and natural. I could understand though if some other readers would feel this pace is too slow – particularly for an erotic romance story. It was over half way through the story before Gunny and Catherine really started to admit their feelings for each other and even further into the story before they acted on their attraction. I felt this made the story as a whole feel more steamy or sensual – rather than erotic.

With interesting and layered characters, I really enjoyed the fact neither Catherine nor Gunny felt cookie-cutter or thinly drawn. They both felt realistic and relatable to me and I enjoyed getting to know them both and following them as they got to know each other and begin their relationship together. With a strong but small cast of secondary characters and a solid plot this was a great, quick read and one I’d happily recommend.

And can they ever be more than a passing good time?

Charlie had left her childhood town the moment she could when she was sixteen. Now a grown woman, she’s returned only to settle up his father’s cabin after his death. She’s shocked, therefore, when Declan turns up. He’s been renting the cabin from her father for over a year and since he’s been away at work for a month he had no idea her father had died. Since Declan has a lease, Charlie has no intention of throwing him out, and that would have been that – except for the fact they’re now both snowed in together.

I found this to be a really interesting, modern story. I was both relieved and pleased when Charlie didn’t have some sort of hissy fit about Declan staying in the cabin. I thought both of their reactions were completely rational, logical and – thankfully – modern. Their attraction to each other was near-instantaneous, but considering the short length of the story and the short time they expected to be thrown together I couldn’t personally fault their hasty behavior. I was pleased that the perspectives swung between Charlie and Declan as the chapters changed, this helped me see and understand everything from both their points of view and helped me as a reader to not misinterpret any of their actions.

Despite Declan and Charlie’s insta-lust with each other I was pleased they didn’t simply jump each other immediately. This helped raise the sexual tension and let me as the reader see and get on board with the chemistry sizzling between them. Readers who prefer a longer build up – or for there to be a slower burn to their erotica – won’t find that here. I really felt that both Declan and Charlie realised this was a small window of opportunity they each had and so neither wanted to wait and see how events unfolded more naturally. They were both there, snowed in and wanted each other, so the rest was a no-brainer.

I really felt the author did an amazing job wrapping up the story – while a little clichéd it still felt realistic and modern to me and I have to admit I gave a happy sigh when I got right to the end. A part of me was expecting the ending to be a little bittersweet and I was thrilled that it was both happy and believable. I thought this was an excellent way to round out Declan and Charlie’s story and was really pleased.

A hot and sexy short romp of a story – I feel this should appeal to a wide range of readers.

Being a forty-two-year-old English professor at a private university and writing erotica makes Harrison Winslow guard his identity closely, never interacting with fans. Until RedLace24.

Flirtatious emails and steamy sexting culminate in a weekend of hedonistic sex and surprising intimacy. Harrison struggles to keep the truth from Red, especially when she discloses her name and opens up to him, revealing that she’s an aspiring author.

When fate intervenes and his truth is exposed, Harrison must channel the romance of his alter ego if wants to retain the woman who excites his body and challenges his mind.

Sydney has a slight addiction to the sexy weekly updates written by H.R. Reve. Even though they’d never met, never spoken, his writing inspired her dreams and fantasies and he’d never let her down. Harrison knew RedLace24 was one of his most solid and reliable fans. He needed the secrecy that online writing gave him – his career as a teacher demanded he kept it so – but as their written exchanged become more private – and more detailed – will the exposure of their secrets derail their carefully constructed lives?

I found this to be an intensely written and hot short story. Personally, I found I needed to disconnect my brain a little to really sit back and enjoy it. I just couldn’t find it realistic that a writer who needed and wanted to keep their real life completely separate from their erotic writing would want to make such an intimate real-life connection with a reader. The world is full of stalkers and crazies – plus the risk to Harrison’s career and tenure was a real threat – so throwing caution to the wind on a woman he’d only exchanged raunchy messages with just seemed totally illogical to my mind. That said, once I just ignored the “reality” and logical aspect to the story and enjoyed the characters and situation without thinking about it, I really did enjoy the story. It’s sexily steamy and well paced – the characters are engaging and definitely into each other in a big way.

Readers looking for a quick and heavily erotic story should find this really to their liking. The author changes perspectives with the chapters, allowing the reader to glance into both Harrison and Sydney’s heads and see exactly where they’re both coming from. I found this helped ease a lot of my confusion about why someone would risk his livelihood and career over a bit of spicy internet chatting – and also helped me see that Sydney wasn’t a rabid or crazy fan gone wild. It helped me understand where they were each coming from and helped my enjoyment of the story.

For most of the story the conflict comes in the form of Harrison and Sydney setting up their relationship and deepening the connection they began online. Personally I found this added enough tension to satisfy me – there was a wealth of unknowns in meeting a virtual stranger from the internet. Since they’d been intimate and shared sex-pictures and such I felt there were plenty of emotional and relationship pitfalls they both had to negotiate. I admit I was surprised that Harrison wasn’t more concerned throughout the story about sharing his secret “writers persona” with Sydney and the potential to lose his job and career. While this aspect of their connecting certainly isn’t ignored, Harrison seemed to not consider it after a simple thought or two until well toward the end of the story. I felt the emotional and relationship tension and concerns really helped contrasts to the sexy shenanigans they both enjoyed so much together.

Readers looking for a hot and sexy short story should find this ticks a lot of boxes. Disconnect your brain, sit back with a very cold drink, relax and enjoy the ride.

She certainly isn’t looking for another relationship, but Michael Donovan had been her childhood crush and he was even more tempting now as a grown up man. After being medically discharged from the Army, Michael was scarred – inside and out. Life hadn’t turned out as either of them expected, but Eve and Michael still held a fierce attraction for each other, and when Eve’s ex turns dangerous they need to rely on each other more than ever before.

I found this to be a sexy and lovely full length story. I was really pleased the author took her time to introduce both Michael and Eve’s characters and explain a little of where they were in their lives before throwing them together and watching their chemistry sizzle. I found both Eve and Michael to be completely relatable – Eve having left her home years earlier for a career and to make her own way, Michael having joined the Army and wanting to serve his country and fellow people. The chemistry between the two of them sizzled, but I really enjoyed how it was clearly not merely a physical thing. Eve and Michael had known each other through their childhoods, and while they’d both been on different paths neither had escaped the notice of the other. So when they reconnected again so many years later and both were in a place to help and support the other it was only natural that their old feelings would resurface.

The conflict and tension in this story mostly revolved around Ian – Eve’s abusive and dangerous ex. While this aspect of the plot was fairly predictable to my mind I still found it very well written and a strong asset to the story as a whole. I thought the author did a good job balancing enough details of the abuse and over-possessiveness Ian wielded over Eve without tripping over that invisible line and being too much to stomach in a sexy romance story. I feel that there was enough description and explanation of how Ian had mistreated Eve to fully support and justify her fear of Ian and running from him, without being too graphic to lessen my enjoyment of the romance or make it not believable that Eve would be ready or emotionally in a position to open herself to another romance. I really feel the author did a great job in this respect and the pacing of the story coupled with the conflict in the plot and the attraction between Eve and Michael all balanced out to make this a really solid, interesting and sexy read.

One of the best aspects of this being a long, full-length story is that the romance had time and plenty of space to unfold and blossom at its own pace. While readers looking for an intensely sexual, heavily erotic story might find the romance/sexy pacing a little too slow, I found the long-burn approach to be exactly right given the length of the story and Eve’s previous relationship and personal situation. I also usually enjoy a gradual build up with plenty of chemistry before the sexy shenanigans begin and this story really delivered in that department. When Eve and Michael finally hit the sheets there’s plenty of sensuality in it and I feel romance and erotica readers should find it very satisfying – but for me personally it was the emotional and deeper connections between Michael and Eve that really made the romance so special, the sex was just a great bonus.

With complicated emotions, interesting and layered characters and a solid – though somewhat predictable – plot I found this to be a really great romance and overall story. I’ll definitely be checking out more of this authors work in the future.

But it’s a large, enthusiastic husky and his sexy blonde owner who James finds himself tongue-tied over lately. James is a bit intimidated by just how much he wants Aiden though, but soon their desire will outweigh their caution.

I found this to be a fun and surprisingly happy story. I wasn’t too certain on the coincidence of just how many aspects of Aiden and James’ lives intersected at the same time – virtually forcing the two men to confront their mutual feelings for each other – but it certainly helped move the plot along at a good pace. A part of me felt that their meeting and attraction at the kennel would have been enough incentive to get the two men together, and the charity writing event aspect to the plot was a little over the top. That said, I genuinely enjoyed what each part wove together and added to the story as a whole.

Readers who enjoy a slow build-up to their romance, with lots of chemistry and sexual tension, should find this story really suits their needs. I thought it was interesting the James and Aiden actually got to know each other online – not realizing it was each other that they spoke to – and this helped me as a reader really see and understand what their feelings were for the other and the complications they felt were in the way. I also thought this was a good way for the author to move through the awkwardness and anxiety Aiden and James felt in each other’s physical presence – a way for them to interact and express their feelings to the reader clearly without having holding back. I felt this helped keep the chemistry and sexual tension bubbling away nicely before they actually moved forward and started their relationship together physically.

After a few miscommunications when Aiden and James finally get together I feel the chemistry and sizzle of their intimacy is well worth the wait. Readers should be aware there’s a bit of kink and fetish/BDSM play though I didn’t find any of it too over the top for an erotic romance story.

Hawk-shifter Brennon and his best friend, wolf-shifter Max trek through the jungle looking for the laboratory doing heinous testing on their various shifter brethren, along with a bunch of innocent humans caught up in the mix. What Brennon wasn’t prepared for was the knowledge that testing had progressed far beyond what they’d expected, successfully splicing human and shifter DNA already. Brennon also hadn’t expected to find himself so taken with one of the captives when they raid the laboratory. Can they stop this evil in time?

This is the second book in the series and while I have read the first installment I was relieved that the author explained plenty of where things stood so that this book could effectively stand by itself. I feel that readers looking to read this book alone shouldn’t have any problems catching up.

While the theme of splicing shifter DNA and doing testing on human (and shifter) subjects isn’t exactly new, and the experimentation isn’t overly graphic in its detail – readers who are sensitive to this sort of subject mightn’t find the story suits their tastes. While the romance that blossoms between Mikki and Brennon is hot, intense and deep Mikki was experimented on and Brennon is a shifter who is spear-heading the breaking down and shutting of the laboratory and tracking the Doctor in charge of these proceedings, so that aspect of the plot is quite deep, complicated and detailed throughout the story. I personally found everything to be written in good taste and not too over the top or gory/graphic with the details. Other readers might feel the descriptions are a little much – so that might be a consideration.

Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, and was pleased it wasn’t merely a token effort to give some aim to the romance. I feel the author did a good job explaining what was going on and detailing the layout of the laboratory. I didn’t feel quite as comfortable with the pacing of the story – it felt choppy and uneven in a few places to me but particularly when Brennon and Max were going through the laboratory – it felt suitably tense and rush-rush-rush, but then suddenly they could slow down and have a chat with the random captive – Mikki – whom they found. Then they found her clothes and food – even offering her a chance to shower, until they realized the danger and precarious position they were in. The sudden shift back to rush-rush-rush just had the whole scene feel a bit uneven.

I was really pleased that, while a large portion of the story was from Brennon’s perspective, we did get a few chapters from Mikki’s point of view too. When the heroine was first introduced I didn’t really understand what on earth was going on with her. She appeared to be a human woman who had been kidnapped, imprisoned, had tests and experiments performed on her and then thrown her lot in with a random stranger (who claimed to be a hawk shifter on top of everything) and trusted them instead of fleeing for the nearest police station and safe haven the moment she was released. More importantly, I didn’t understand how she could grow to have romantic (let alone sexual) feelings for this man whom she had never seen or met before. It was a lot for me to take on in a very short length of time and so hearing directly from her helped ease a lot of my concerns.

I loved the plotting, finding it complex and not just a token effort. I enjoyed the characters, though they’re not the usual sort and I’m not certain they will be to everyone’s tastes – I was pleased to get on board with Brennon and Mikki and ended up very satisfied with their romance and the chemistry in their sexual relationship. I was pleased that there wasn’t too much graphic detail of the experiments and craziness in the laboratory. I feel it would have been too easy for the author to dwell too much on that and it’s not what I want highlighted in my romantic fiction reads.

Different and very well put together, I feel this will be a great read for many people. I’m pleased I have read it and will be keeping an eye out for any future installments.

Vance needs an obedient Omega, an ideal mate for his unstable pack. Right from the start he knows Owen’s the exact opposite of meek and dutiful. The more Vance gets to know Owen, the sooner he realizes that Owen might be just what both he and his pack needs.

Owen had been born and raised in the Omega training facility and he yearned for his freedom. He was determined to get out of there – one way or the other. Only Vance isn’t like the other Alphas Owen has been abused by. Owen still craves his freedom, but he’s no longer certain fleeing from Vance is what he wants either.

I enjoyed this fun and short paranormal story. I loved how Owen’s character had a bit of spark and backbone to him and even when he was pretending to be the perfect docile Omega he still had his own personality and strength. Vance was also an interesting character – I was pleased he wasn’t just an ordinary, smug and arrogant Alpha – but an Alpha who had struck out alone and done his own thing. Vance’s loyalty and genuine regard for his pack had Vance returning when his father passed away so the pack could remain strong under his leadership and not be torn apart by less-strong Alphas.

Each character was their own – recognizable and interesting but not cartoonish or over the top. While I did find most of the plot of this story very predictable the interesting characters really helped keep me invested and enjoying every moment. Erotic readers will also be pleased that there is plenty of steamy sex in this story and a few interesting twists that help round out the story.

With two interesting heroes and a small cast of equally interesting secondary characters which could well prove to be further stories in the series, this is sure to be a great quick read for many readers.
