Top Ten Tuesday: Books with Numbers In the Title

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

I have not read any of these books yet. If you’ve read them, did you like them? If you haven’t read them, are you hoping to change that anytime soon?

1. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller

2. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

3. The Three Musketeers (The D’Artagnan Romances, #1)  by Alexandre Dumas

4. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

5. And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

6. Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

7. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey

8. Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne

9. One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, #1) by Janet Evanovich

10. The 101 Dalmatians (The Hundred and One Dalmatians, #1) by Dodie Smith

Comments

  1. I’d like to read Around the World in Eighty Days someday!

  2. Ooh Around the World… 101 Dalmatians, the Christie one. You have fun picks. 🙂

  3. Fab list! I loved One Hundred and One Dalmatians. I was quite disappointed by and Then There Were None but I really enjoyed A Tale of Two Cities. I’ve reviewed them all on my blog in the past.

  4. One for the Money and Two for the Dough are probably the best of the Plum novels, although I love them all (even 20+ books later).

My daughter read And Then There Were None a few years ago for school and actually enjoyed it. I need to pick that one up soon myself.

  5. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is brilliant, but hard to get through. Triggers everywhere. But worth it, I think.

I would also agree with Aymee that One for the Money is pretty fantastic, but I’m really over the series at this point, so I am always conflicted about recc-ing it.

    My list is here: https://fiftytwo.blog/2021/09/14/ttt-ten-books-with-numbers-in-the-title/

  6. Around the World in 80 Days was one of my favorite mandatory reads for school. Happy reading! https://readwithstefani.com/books-with-number-10-in-the-title/

  7. I may have read 101 Dalmatians when I was a kid, I think I vaguely remember borrowing it from the library…..

  8. I’ve read nos.2,3,4 and 5 and enjoyed them. I’d like to read Around the World in Eighty Days some time.

  9. This is a great list, and I love that you put Stephanie Plum on the list. I was surprised not to see those books on more lists!

  10. Agatha Christie is making many lists today. Great list!

  11. Great list! I liked And Then There Were None and I used to read the Stephanie Plum books. I want to read One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey, we re-watched that one a few months back.

  12. Catch-22 is one of the few books that I had to read for school that I actually liked. I didn’t appreciate A Tale of Two Cities as much but I did buy my own copy a few years ago to re-read it someday; it seems like something I would like now that I’m older. A Thousand Splendid Suns is fantastic. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest didn’t work for me when I read it for the first time last year. I liked the message but couldn’t get past the misogyny. I had to read And Then There Were None for school in 8th grade (we had a great English teacher that year who had us reading Jurassic Park, westerns, Edgar Allan Poe, etc.) and it blew our minds. I haven’t read 101 Dalmations but I did love I Capture the Castle by the same author.

I obviously think you have a great list here!

  13. I’ve read A Thousand Splendid Suns and And Then There Were None, and they’re both fantastic! I’d highly recommend them. And several of your others on this list are on my TBR as well! Great list!

  14. Great list! And Then There Were None is a great book.

When you get the opportunity, I hope you’ll stop by my post: https://readbakecreate.com/books-counting-down-from-ten/

  15. I’ve read And Then There Were None and really enjoyed it. There’s a tv adaptation too which I remember being good. Hope you enjoy.

  16. I enjoy Agatha Christie, although it has been a long time since I have read anything of hers. Here is my link if you’d like to stop by: https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2021/09/top-ten-tuesday-numbers-in-title.html

  17. Great list. I’ve actually read all of these except for Around the World in Eighty Days.

  18. Nice list. I read exactly five of them but only put “A Tale of Two Cities” on my list. There are so many books with numbers.

Thanks for visiting my TTT earlier.

  19. Ooo! Love the add for the Musketeers! I haven’t ever read the book, but love so many of the film or TV adaptations. 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland on this week’s topic.

  20. 101 Dalmations! Now I want to read the original <3 I still have the Musketeers to read as well.
