New Year’s Resolutions

End of September, when my hubby and I left the fifth wheel all snug in a storage space under its cover until next spring, I said the holidays will be here before you know it. He chuckled and said, “Don’t I know it.”

Sure enough, another year has flown by at the speed of light. All I could do was catch hold of its tail and be catapulted into my computer chair hoping to finish this blog before the bell of Christmas present tolls. A holiday celebration filled with family, friends and a great time to be had by all..

True, another has year passed, but what was accomplished? Surprisingly, I met all of my 2017 New Year’s resolutions of 5, 000 words written each week (ok, mostly), a new book contracted, I managed two, and spend quality time with family and friends. My list was short but attainable.

This year in front of the Christmas tree decorated with bright multi-colored lights and ornaments that evoke wonderful memories, I ponder what the New Year will bring. I hope to have more quiet walks with Mystic, our dog, more playtime with Taco, our parrot, and remember to enjoy each day while working towards my professional goals (hopefully 2 more books written and contracted in 2019), and make time for family and friends.

Synn, a demon, carries extraordinary magic and power, but there is more within her than she dreams. Kidnapped as a child, her captors murdered her family and forced her into training as a warrior assassin. When an assignment goes horribly wrong, she finds herself at the mercy of the friends and family of her intended target. Offering valuable information in exchange for protection, she gains her freedom, but it is not without its challenges.

Gavin Shaughnessy is the publican at his family’s Irish pub. He is certain Synn is meant to be his and isn’t bothered by her past. He must find a way to convince her, their future together is stronger than the dark memories that haunt her dreams.

When her past comes calling for revenge, will their love survive the raging inferno she brings down upon them? Or will the searing path of destruction destroy all they hold dear?

Tena Stetler is a best-selling author of award winning paranormal romance. She has an over-active imagination, which led to writing her first vampire romance as a tween to the chagrin of her mother and delight of her friends. After many years as a paralegal, then an IT Manager, she decided to live out her dream of pursuing a publishing career.

With the Rocky Mountains outside her window, she sits at her computer surrounded by a wide array of witches, shapeshifters, demons, faeries, and gryphons, with a Navy SEAL or two mixed in telling their tales. Her books tell stories of magical kick-ass women and mystical alpha males that dare to love them. Travel, adventure and a bit of mystery flourish in her books along with a few companion animals to round out the tales.

  2. Debra Guyette says

I do make resolutions and never keep them so this I decided to see if I could send out birthday cards.

    • Thanks for stopping by. I make sure the resolutions that I make are attainable.I don’t make many but usually make my goal. Sending out birthday cards are another that I strive to do. I usually send them via e-card. Happy New Year Debra!

  3. I hope you get to have plenty of quality time with Mystic and Taco this year.

    • That’s the plan. They are such a wonderful part of my world. They don’t care how many words you write, how many books you get published or how many people check out your blog posts, in their eyes you are darn near perfect. You need that these days!. LOL May you new year be wonderful and rewarding!

  4. I didn’t make any New Year’s Resolutions this year.

    • I didn’t for many years, but over the last few, making them attainable and reaching my goals each year has helped me. May your new year be filled with fun and productivity!

  5. All my resolutions deal with getting stronger and feeling better. When that happens, my writing goals will happen (I hope.) Wonderful post.

  6. I too make goals rather than resolutions. If you mess up on a resolution you feel down because resolutions are abstract but if you achieve the goal you’ve done it and it’s something you can point to. Congratulations on your continued success. Happy New Year and here’s to achieving goals!

  7. I don’t make resolutions either I feel resolutions are abstract but goals are concrete and achievable so I make goals. Congratulations on your continued success Tena And happy new year!

  8. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions because I will feel disappointed in myself if I don’t keep them.

  9. My resolutions are the same every year: exercise more and eat healthier. But I rarely keep them, or even start them.
This year I’m working on two books, so my resolution is to finish them, submit to my publishers, and start something else.
Since I write historicals, I do a lot of research. I love it, thank goodness.

  10. Tena, I quit making resolutions a long time ago. I just point my nose in the direction of the new year and try to make it the best it could be. Wishes on your book!

  11. Judith Sterling says
