Zee was a woman of her word, but honoring her promise to a dead man was proving more and more difficult. And keeping secrets from Miles, the sexy sheriff, a man who ignites her passion and fulfills her every fantasy, only leads to more friction in their already volatile relationship.

Miles knows Zee is hiding something from him and it has everything to do with his missing fugitive. He can’t allow his personal feelings or his relationship with Zee to prevent him from doing his job. After all, it’s his reputation on the line. His heart will heal. Or will it?

Zemira Simmons had a soft spot for Miles who happened to be the sheriff of her town. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for him except tell him the secret she was hiding. Zemira wasn’t sure how he would take it and being the strong capable woman that she was; she felt she could handle it on her own.

Miles knew that there was more to Zee then met the eye but he needed her to trust him with her secrets. He had to keep her safe from Kyle, the man who tried to kill her sister Na’arah and he knew her secret included Kyle in some way. He just wasn’t sure how Zee and Kyle were connected but he was determined to find out.

Safe Promises is the follow up to Street Safe the story about Na’arah Simmons and Rue ‘Street’ Callan. The story picks up from where Street Safe left off, Na’arah and Street are now married and on their honeymoon and Zemira ‘Zee’ is being watched by the man who tried to kill her sister Na’arah. Even though Zee is tough and can handle herself Miles is never far away and always makes sure no harm comes to her.

Safe Promises is a good read, one that will immerse you in hot, sometimes rough sex and a good story of why Kyle is after Zee. The characters are well developed and the supporting characters, which include some of the characters from the first book, are also important to the story. This book can be read as a stand alone but it would be best if you read Street Safe first because it sets the stage for Safe Promises. That way you as the reader know all the characters in the story and how they interact with each other, and why Kyle wanted Zee’s sister dead.

Safe Promises will keep your interest from start to finish, this reader would recommend this story as one you could add to your summer reading list, and if you haven’t read Street Safe it should also be put on your list.
