“Will you protect me and stand at my side when my husband discovers we’ve been having an affair?”

Dagger would never forget those words spoken to him two hundred years ago. It was the day Belinda died and he became a werewolf. Unable to accept her death, he seeks the help of a shaman. Soon, she is reborn as a ShapeShifter with the ability to shift into both a werewolf and a Dragon. Braccus is the pack’s alpha male, and his time on earth is running out. He needs the magic of Belinda’s Dragon to continue his reign. Dead or alive, she would be his.

Dagger can’t forget the shaman’s warning. If Belinda doesn’t remember their past, they will die. Casual sex is not on his agenda as he realizes that only his love and their lovemaking can bring her back. Will their struggle for love eventually overcome the odds?

Love has no boundaries, which is truly evident in this exciting love story between werewolf shifter Dagger, and dragon shifter Belinda. Dagger had promised to protect Belinda no matter the obstacles and when he failed measurably the first time, he vowed to make sure their second chance was different.

The relationship development between Dagger and Belinda was one that truly entertained me. I liked the twist of him remembering their past while she had no recognition of it. The emotional and physical connection for Dagger is something that has been building over the centuries, while for Belinda it was a fresh feeling. It offered all of the stages of love, which many stories cannot do.

The conflict with Braccus truly kept the story moving forward. Every time Dagger and Belinda seemed to be making some headway, he threw them a curve ball. It added an element of surprise and danger to the story and made the plot line captivating. Braccus is everything I have come to expect from a villain: conniving, manipulative, and ruthless. It had me looking forward with anticipation to his next diabolical plot in the pursuit to gain ultimate power.

The paranormal element within this book was not a trivial contribution. As a person who enjoys all paranormal stories, especially shifters, my choosing to read this novella was a no-brainer. Toss in werewolves and a dragon, I found myself smiling for no reason other than amusement at their shifting abilities. While the tale could have been a good love story without it, the paranormal element really enhanced the story to a new level. Truly, I would recommend Dagger’s Lust to others who enjoy a nice paranormal short story.

Isolated in the quiet hills of Pennsylvania is an Amish order unlike any other—they are vampyre.

Adam Hartzler has always been an honorable immortal, but when he is called to his true mate, the line between right and wrong begins to blur. If he does not find her soon, he will lose his soul and die. The longer he waits, the less he is in control. With only his dreams to guide him, Adam sets out on a journey to claim his mate and return home with her before it is too late.

Annalise Snow is forced into a destiny she did not choose when she awakens on a primitive farm in the arms of a man determined to have her. Passion and emotion collide when two strangers, bound by destiny, become each other’s salvation, but will their bond survive the ultimate sacrifice? Or will eternity begin with betrayal?

There are three things that drew me to this novel: erotic, vampires and Amish. This is one mixture I never saw coming.

In this new take on vampires, they live in a closed society. They rebuff all the conveniences of the modern world and live solely unto themselves. They grow and raise all their own food and live a quiet life that encompasses family and friends. When a true mate calling occurs, a vampire must listen. If they don’t, they become what history has painted vampires to be; mindless thirsty creatures hell bent on the filling their burning desire for blood and lust, one human at a time.

Adam has been called. When a vampire is called, his soul is reaching out to his mate and if he does not find her soon, he will lose himself and become feral. Adam is running out of time. He sets out into a foreign world he never dreamed of entering. If he can’t find her soon, his people will be forced to kill him. There’s only one hope for Adam’s survival, his true mate.

Annalise is alone in the world. But she doesn’t let that stop her from reaching her goals. She has worked hard to get a college degree and is only weeks away from graduating. All of her past sacrifices are about to pay off. One moment she’s relatively happy with the completion of her schooling, her job as a waitress and her also with her boyfriend. The next moment she is in a strange new environment, forced to comply with rules she has no understanding of. She’s now living in an archaic society where men rule and women follow.

While there is a strong mutual attraction between these two people their differences are a constant reminder of how dissimilar they are. This is even before Annalise knows Adam’s biggest secret, that he’s a vampire. But even better, he is listing this masterpiece cheap buy viagra for $ 2.35 million. Men who have problem in erecting and maintaining their male reproductive organ will rush to ejaculate. discount viagra from canada These analysts predict marijuana pushing back the total value of the famous “viagra lowest prices “, that is currently the most profitable of drugs. If he can’t convince her that they’re fated to be together, he’ll die. The problem is if he does convince her, she will need to die in his place.

According to the acknowledgments in this novel, this is the first published works of Ms. Michaels. I will have to say her all around style is wonderful and her idea behind this new series is quite unique. She has blended three elements that I never realized might just work. Her writing was exceptional, but the foundation of the story just didn’t sing to me.

I’m not sure what I was expecting. Personally when I think of an Amish type society I think that a religious base will be present. Considering the other two elements of the novel are vampires and erotic, I am glad that I was wrong. I think that that was one of my problems and I couldn’t get past the preconceived idea. I was expecting religion to pop up around every corner in this erotic novel.

The pacing in the story was also slow for me. Adam and Annalise’s relationship was built slowly and it was not until the last quarter of the book, that I was finally immersed into the plot. Considering the majority of the book was based on a look into their culture, it makes sense that it had a slower pace. Then there was also the forcing of Annalise to live in a total alien society. I had a really hard time with that. Also the male/female dynamics of this world were very hard for me to absorb.

I believe people who have an understanding of this type of culture and know going in that erotic romance and religion do not play together in this book, may enjoy Called to Order immensely. It just did not work for me.

Though I wasn’t enamored with this book I do plan to read the next story in the series, Calling for a Miracle. She has already built an amazing beginning for this next story and I likely will not have the same hang ups that I had from Called to Order. In the next book, two vampires fall in love and they are set for some explosive interactions and I’m looking forward to that very much.

Called to Order is a very different take on vampires and Ms. Michaels is an author to watch out for. Her imagination and writing are exceptional. I have a feeling she’s going to be a rising star!

Torren Braddock has his hands full as a new elder, trying to clean up the mess the former Council members left for him. Adding a mate to his agenda is the last thing he wants to do, but he can’t deny the way Aslan draws him in like a moth to a flame.

Torren is meant to be his champion, his protector. Aslan is sure of it. When the voices in his head grow louder and more demanding, he realizes something big is coming, something that has the potential to destroy everything—and he’ll need his new mate at his side if he hopes to survive it.

The story revolves around one of the elders of the paranormal creatures set in an alternative Earth. Torren is elder of Magiks. He’s a witch and finds in Aslan his infinity, or soul mate. Drama ensues as they deal with coming together, discovering their past lives with each other, and dealing with Aslan’s ability as a threshold of the dead. She also does well in updating the reader on past relationships. There were a few spots where there could have been more description in action scenes and a few scenes that felt a little rushed.

This is one of my favorite series by Ms Evans. It’s engaging, well written overall, well edited, long enough to satisfy and short enough to leave you wanting more. The transitions from book to book are smoothly done and because each story focuses on a particular couple while still having characters from the previous stories around you can enjoy it as a series or as a standalone read. It’s not that he isn’t insanely attracted to Bannon Murphy, but when the man starts talking about mates, Galen balks. He’s been burned by a lying, manipulating shifter before, and he isn’t convinced that he can trust the sexy Irishman.

After months of trying to convince Galen they’re fated to be together, Bannon is at the end of his rope. Not only does Galen refuse to accept that they’re mates, but he stubbornly clings to the idea that he’s nothing more than human. No matter how hard Galen tries to push him away, Bannon isn’t going anywhere without a fight.

When The Council convinces him to take Galen on his next assignment, Bannon decides to use the time to woo his obstinate mate. Unfortunately, it soon becomes apparent that keeping them safe from their enemies will be easier than convincing his mate to stop running from the truth.

With shifters, vampires, witches and more, this story really kept me on the edge of my seat.

Bannon exudes self-confidence, now if he can just give some of that confidence to his mate, Galen, he may be able to capture the forever after he’s always dreamed of. Bannon is a sexy Irishman I would love to have covering my back. His character just made me feel protected even as a reader. I could tell he would do anything to keep those he cared for safe, including his reluctant mate. I also love a man with an accent so this story was perfectly written to show his Irish heritage and made me want more.

In the beginning of the story, I was a bit confused by the secondary characters. There seemed to be so many of them populating the scenes I had a hard time differentiating between them. I think this is partially because I have not read previous stories in this series. Had I been more familiar with the series I am sure I would have appreciated these cameos.

The subplot of the story was as entertaining as the romantic development. I enjoyed learning about Bannon and Galen’s individual abilities and how they helped protect those they loved. I would have liked to have seen Galen’s “shifter” blood play a bit more of a role, however. The conflict added a bit of edge to help push the characters along nicely. While danger was lurking at every corner, Bannon and Galen also found time to just have fun and enjoy one another. The good times mixed in with the danger made me appreciate the main characters more. It also gave me an indication that their relationship would last throughout the ages.

She never expected Damon and Alex to follow her with seduction on their minds, and she never expected them to want forever.

Damon and Alex have been in love with Maribelle for years. When Damon’s stupid brother loses her because of his cheating ways, the best friends decide it’s time to let Maribelle know just how they feel. Seducing her is easy, but convincing her to stay with them is going to be a challenge—one thing neither man has ever backed down from.

On the day of her wedding Maribelle finds out what kind of man she’s about to marry. Finally deciding to stand up for herself, she leaves the him at the alter. She escapes to Hawaii with two of her best friends. Her other two good friends, Damon and Alex, have longed for more from Maribelle for many long years. When she runs to Hawaii to lick her wounds the men follow Maribelle in hopes of showing her just what she’s worth.

I loved meeting all the characters in this book. The author does a wonderful job of bringing them all vividly to life. She does it so strongly that I felt as if I was there in person. I loved Maribelle and her men and hated her ex-fiancée and the woman he cheats with.

Alex and Damon are so sweet and endeared themselves quickly to this reader. They love Maribelle unconditionally and want her to see for herself just how much she’s worth. I cheered at seeing Maribelle come out of her shell. She’s a smart and strong woman that’s loved dearly by many. With the help of her two men she begins to feel her worth.

Watching their relationship move from friends to lovers was not only a hot read but also a beautiful romance. The emotions shine through in everything they do, making this story a great read. This book is fast paced and entertaining, it kept me glued to my seat and had me quickly turning the pages to see if Maribelle would get the happy ever after that she so deserved. I really enjoyed visiting Hawaii again and revisiting with some characters from past books and hope to be able to revisit again.

The right kind of pain…

Terribly insecure Anthony Reed believes he’s undesirable, so when the hottest guy in school hits on him, he figures it must be a joke. How could anyone want a guy with a head like a jar, the big, brown eyes of Bambi, and the body of Rambo? Who would want a freak who’s turned on by pain?

Determined to show Anthony just how hot he is, Kevin Henderson goes after the gentle giant with everything he’s got, and his assets are considerable. Kevin knows just how to press the sweet, sexy linebacker’s buttons, and soon the two are inseparable.

When things get too intense, and Kevin’s own insecurities and secrets are exposed, Kevin realizes they have more in common than just a need for kinky sex. Anthony thinks of himself as worthless, but Kevin needs to show him that he’s worth everything. The trick is loving himself completely first.

Breaking down the walls around each other’s hearts draws them deeper into an indestructible bond. But will they be able to let the past go and join their brethren in the Twin Pines Grizzlies, or will they retreat into solitary safety?

Sexy football players seducing one another, what more could a reader ask for?

Anthony and Kevin really seem to complement each other well. This isn’t only because Anthony’s a natural submissive, while Kevin lives for dominating his partners. It’s because they bring out the best in one another, and make each want to be a better man. Even when they don’t recognize that they need mending they seem to help one another, and that’s what a truly special relationship is all about. It’s also what let me know that no matter what, these two will be together for a long happy lifetime.

While there is a slight paranormal element to this story, it really doesn’t play a prominent role in the development of the storyline or characters. Personally, I would have liked for it to have had a larger impact on the storyline. All it really did was leave me confused on why it mattered at all. I wonder if it’ll be explained in later stories.

While this story is the fifth of the series, it read fine as a stand alone. I had not even realized there were previous stories written until the paranormal element was introduced. I appreciated how easy it was to jump right in and not feel left out of the characters’ lives, especially because I quickly become fascinated with them and wanted more and more. Though this is the first story I’ve read by this author and this series, I suspect Anitra Lynn McLeod is a author name I’ll be looking for when deciding what to read next.

Every woman wants a fairy-tale ending, but Lily Valentine has given up on that. Other women may get their happily ever after, but what she lives is more like a nightmare. Admitted loner Clay Cook has heard all the stereotypes about artists and even lived some of them. He struggles with his craft, wondering if his best work is behind him.

Mortally ill, Lily flees to Divine, barreling headlong into Clay’s life from the distant past. Clay’s brother Del returns from a lengthy deployment, suffering from deep trauma of his own, at a loss for how to move on from it. In an effort to remake herself, Lily unintentionally does more harm than good.

As Lily Valentine rises from the ashes of her former life, jealousy is sparked and danger comes calling. Will Clay and Del be able to save her when her old life tries to reclaim her?

Even in the darkest of times, a person can claw her way out and rise above the ashes to start anew.

This story is about Lily Valentine, originally from Divine and childhood friends with Clay and Del Cook. Lily and her family moved away while she was still in school and she lost contact with the boys. Moving away may have seemed like the worst thing to ever happen to Lily until she met and married a man named JT, who turned out to be a sick, sick man. Lily spent the next twelve years in her abusive husband’s clutches, with no hope for escaping. But after a final humiliating confrontation she decides enough is enough and Lily heads for Divine. Little does she know her entrance would be a smash.

Clay is the local jeweler and owns a shop where he designs his own creations. Even though he’s as dependable and caring as he can be, Clay still buys into the stereotypical idea of what artist should be, flaky, in touch with with emotions and unreliable. He spends most of his time alone and works on his friends’ tokens of love for their women while he has no one. It wasn’t until Lily came crashing back into his life that he realized what he was missing.

His older brother Del finally comes home from working in a private military company. It’s been four years since his last visit and this time he brought home some emotional baggage. Unable to deal with his issues, Del sets himself to making his run down ranch functional. Of course, that’s easy to do when you never sleep. Once he and Lily reconnect, sparks fly but Del can’t help but worry about Clay’s feelings.

While Lily sets a backbreaking pace to improve herself and her life, Del sets the same pace but instead of improving, he ignores his issues. Clay is the healing agent for them both. Initially the story starts off as Clay and Lily grow closer to one another and when Del shows up everything shifts to create their triad. I really loved how different all of theses characters were and how they complimented each other without even trying. And how they just easily flowed into creating their relationship between the three of them with little discussion. Once the idea was planted, it literally grew wings and flew.

What I enjoyed most about Divine Phoenix was the emotions that the author was able to pull out of me. As a reader, I admit I can be a bit jaded when it comes to conflicts and the bad guys. But this story really grabbed me from the beginning to the very end. I just wanted to hug Lily, kiss Clay and hold Del. And I really wanted to do serious damage to JT.

But what made this book 5 stars for me was Ms. Rainier’s restraint when it came time for the climax. I deeply feared what I was going to read as I sped through her words but she gave you just enough without going too deep. Once you read this book, and I think everyone should, you’ll understand what I mean. Sometimes authors walk a fine line when it comes to painting a character especially the bad guy. They can come off a one dimensional or even ridiculous, but Ms. Rainier did it just perfectly. She painted a beautiful story with all the right colors and the end was a portrait of a divine phoenix.

RSVP required; floggings will be administered to those who do not

Antony returns from an eight-month deployment and wonders if Jenna will let him return for good. Gentry worries that he will be kicked out now that Antony is home. Whitney gets new toys for Christmas as Taurus pushes her boundaries. Sloan, Dane, and Merlin make their appearance though Sloan is seven and a half months pregnant. They leave early when Sloan goes into labor after she and Merlin dance for the talent show. Jackson is juggling bartending and keeping his lovely submissive satisfied. He grows more nervous about proposing but he is determined that she will marry him.

Will Jenna let Antony back into her household? Will Sinclair agree to Jackson’s proposal? Will everyone have a spanking good Christmas party?

What Christmas at a BDSM club would be complete without a tree decorated in balls, whips, handcuffs and chains?

This book is about Club Esoteria’s Christmas party which features a talent contest involving all the subs. The acts must be non- sexual in nature, which I found kind of charming.

This book is number seven in the series and focus on couples/groups from previous books. We revisit Dane, Merlin and Sloan from His Sub’s Submissive, Taurus and Whitney from Caught by the Master, Jenna, Antony and Gentry from Minding Mistress which are books one through three respectively. And finally we see Jackson and Sinclair recently from His Beck & Call Girl. Cooper McKenzie was able to bring a lot of her characters together in this installment and never let any one set overshadow another. Each couple or group had their own scenes that led up to the other. I was able to invest in everyone even with this book being a short read.

I had not previously read the prior six books, but in no way did I feel lost or at a disadvantage reading A Club Esoteria Christmas. I personally believe that takes a great deal of talent, and it made me want to go back and read the books to experience how all these couple came to be where they are in this novella. Fans of Ms. McKenzie or the Club Esoteria series will not be disappointed at all.

Ryan Chisholm, one of the infamous “flirt twins” of the powerful and wealthy Chisholm family, isn’t looking to settle down. He’s just looking for a good time while he and his twin build up their nightclub, Chaps & Spurs. He doesn’t want to be Mr. Right for anyone right now. However, once he meets Samantha, he wonders if he can’t be Mr. Right Now for the blonde-haired beauty.

Samantha Michaels is starting over with a new job in a new town. She has sworn off men, especially rich, spoiled playboys like Ryan Chisholm. Ryan is a handsome, wealthy playboy and is strictly off the menu as far as Samantha’s concerned. She knows from experience that she doesn’t have the pedigree necessary to be taken seriously by a wealthy and influential man. Life has taught her to depend on no one but herself, and she doesn’t intend to forget it.

What do you get when you mix a upper class, rich playboy and a lower class, grew-up-in-the-system girl?

A very sweet love story. Were you thinking drama and fireworks? Oh, those are there, too. But it’s more in the form of mama drama and fireworks in the bedroom.

Samantha Michaels is a strong willed business owner that’s new to town. She grew up in foster care and after years of working hard, was able to become partner in flower shop with her good friend. After some jerk forces her out of her livelihood, she has to leave town and basically start over. Her determination to make her own way is something to admire given her circumstances.

Ryan Chisholm, one half of the ‘Flirt Twins’, likes to play hard when it comes to women, but he actually works hard, too. That was good to see. When you think playboy you think all fun and no business but that’s not the case here. Ryan is very involved in the club he owns with his twin, and with his family’s ranching business. He’s a known serial dater, but if you looked like him, wouldn’t you?

What I loved about Ryan and Samantha together is that they were actually quite opposite. Him being so close knit with his family, and her having no one while growing up in foster care. Samantha is closed off from the world along with her feelings and Ryan is more ‘what you see is what you get’ when it comes to what he wants and expects. But, once they get on the same page everything is very yin and yang between them.

I did have a few minor issues with this book. One was the same position for several love making scenes. Ryan is, in a word, “experienced”, so sex in the missionary position left me feeling a wee bit let down. It’s well written scenes, I just expected more variety. And my other complaint was the amount of filler throughout the book. We had a lot of scenes where I knew every little detail about everything. Ms. Kinkade writes really good dialogue where it’s included. There simply needs to be more showing and less telling.

Lea Kinkade has created a strong, loving and overall amazing family with the Chisholm’s. They pull you in with their personalities but hook you with their love for each other. This series is an auto-buy for me, and with Dillon’s story coming up next I’m chomping at the bit to start it!

The last thing Peter wanted was to be forced back in the closet, even if it was for the sexiest jock on campus. Chris may have seen himself as straight, but it was clear to Peter that he was not as straight as he would like others to believe. The question is, was he trying to deceive others, or was he deceiving himself?

Peter seems like the kind of person anyone would love to be around whether they are straight, gay or in between. Some people just have a personality that draws others to them like a magnet. This magnetism made the character realistic to this reader. I could picture him sitting on the bed discussing everyday life with me the same way he did with his BFF Nathaniel. This aspect is what immediately drew me into the story and helped to keep my interest throughout.

Chris on the other hand was your typical self-conscious college kid trying to find himself. Personal loss made this search even more critical. Going to college away from home is tough enough, but dealing with the death of a loved one made this more tense. I think Chris’s story of self-discovery is inspirational to anyone whether they be straight or gay; male, or female. I could not help but be awed by how accepting he seemed to be of everything. Whether it be the fact that he was friends with a gay man, or that he started to have a tingly feeling every time he thought about Peter. He seemed to take everything in stride and just go with what felt right to him.

It’s been a while since I read a story that I knew the characters would stick with me, and this is one of those stories. I have no doubt that Chris and Peter will be replaying their story in my head for at least the next week.  I would recommend this story to anyone who loves inspiring story lines and characters.
