This is a recommended read for those who want to be kept on the edge of their seat. But keep the ice handy, because Ms. Gayle writes this one super hot.

We see the way Avery slowly comes to trust his rescuers, and the way in which Jeb and Boone’s long-term commitment opens to a third party. Each step in the plot is believable, from the opening scene with the cowboys’ honest concern, to the final show-down when Avery’s uncle reappears and threatens to take back his nephew.

While I enjoyed the story, I did have a few issues with the storyline.
