I got to understand her confusion and her yearning and how difficult it must have been to let go and to finally trust in another person. The treasures that come from her giving her trust are sweet but don’t come without a few scratches and claw marks to make it interesting. I liked her independent spirit and spunky nature. What worked well for this tale was the fact that she didn’t fight herself. Once she accepted that the guys were truly interested in her, herself, she jumped in with tail wagging.

Gideon, Vincent and Darius are three guys who, as a whole, fill the dark and empty places within Freya’s heart. But individually, these hunky heroes have enough depth of character to take their places by the heroine’s side. Ms. Espino has told a tale that is about Freya, Darius, Gideon and Vincent, and no one else. The other secondary characters bring extra zing and interest to the story and enhanced my reading experience. The editing is well done, the dialogue brisk and personable and the descriptions of them all of together, absolutely delicious in its heat and passion.

Freya’s Mates: Pack Seduction, 2 hit my happy buttons and completely entertained me. It’s a romantic and fun story that made the clock disappear. I liked reading about Freya and, because of this book, I am going to be checking out her sister’s story that had come first. If that tale is as good as this one, I’m in for another treat.

I found the first part of the story a little slow but by the middle of the book things really started to pick up and the action became enthralling and brought me to the edge of my seat; I was able to get to know the characters’ personalities before getting entwined in too deeply in the plot and started biting my nails. There was enough entertainment that I could over look the few editing errors and still enjoy the story.

I really like the enchanted plot, sex scenes and spice that went along with it and would love to see the king’s sister Moira get a book of her own. I will be adding Ms. Day to my list of authors just so I can keep track and see if Moira’s story shows up in the future. Definitely a good read for a summer afternoon by the pool, but be warned, you may need a dip after all the heat in this fairy tale.

The quality of writing was excellent in every way… the story engrossing, the characters delicious, the sex scorching and wild. I was so drawn in by the characters’ experiences that it was like living it myself.

I credit that to the author using her characters to explain the rules of their world at the same time they are butting heads against it. The only thing that made me scratch my head is the differences between the Reign and the Sovereign Kind and the plain old Kind, and what the big deal was. I didn’t dwell on that too much because although the characters mention it in passing, the focus really is on the exploding relationship between Skye and Zader.

Skye has been in love with her wolf mate for a long time. Leaf is an alpha and he loves her back. The interesting thing is, as much as she loves him, the heroine shares with a reader that something isn’t quite perfect about their relationship. She has no clue as to what that is. And for the life of me, I never would have suspected or imagined the truth. Zader sure stirs not only Skye’s passions, but the plot conflict too.

This book is cathartic for his character and eventually, I foresee a healthier future for him. And he won’t be facing it alone. I found that sweet and romantic in itself.

When Skye, Zader and Leaf do work out their biggest kinks so they could explore the physical connection, it’s not without its share of dark humor and passion. Zader and Leaf have to work out their sexual compatibility and I believe the phrase is, “Don’t cross the swords.” There is certainly an erotic element when both men are with Skye that leads me to believe that they might eventually seduce each other into a bit of light ‘sword’ play in the future. It’s up to reader interpretation and I guess I’ll have to keep reading the series to find out. Sure is a tantalizing thought.

Whether a reader is a first timer to this series like me, or one who’s been following all along, Zader’s Menagerie will satisfy the romantic inside. The pace is brisk with a lot going on to keep a reader’s attention engaged and interested. What’s not to like about alpha shifters in an emotional pickle? This was the first time I’ve read one of Vonna Harper’s stories, and I was duly impressed. I really appreciated the way she fleshed out her characters and gave me insight in each of the trio. It made the male shifters, especially, far more interesting than the genre regularly portrays. Rather than ‘super-beings’ they were creatures, powerful and intelligent, caught between two worlds and not always sure of their survival in either. They struggled with instinct, while fighting to preserve that which made them both human as well.

Artfully told, it made for a more realistic feel to the fantasy and made their coming together about more than sex. I would have liked to see that scene further developed, especially as it was so critical to forming the bond between them all. Also, I’m just greedy. I’d invested time and emotion in the characters and simply wanted more. Considering the danger to them at the time, it did seem a little strange to have chosen then to ‘down-trou’ as it were. Yet, on the other hand, perhaps that is when the mating instinct is at its strongest-when the possibility of imminent death is near.

This was a wonderful story, with all the elements in place to develop further into a series. I’ve no idea of the author’s intentions, but in my most humble opinion, this setter and idea were far too sublime not to expand and explore possible relationships from the resulting ‘clan’. Her story characters were intriguing and her words flowed into a fun and entertaining story. Her love scenes sizzled and I found myself rewriting my Christmas list early. I could picture the blinding snow storm as her words brought to life a colorful scenic depiction of a possible scenario that many ladies can only fantasize about. Despite the cold snow in her book, I found myself fanning as the heat of the story simmered to a boil. I will definitely pull this story out and reread it again closer to the holidays — after all what is not to love about hot, sexy cowboys stranded at your very door-step?

Looking for a menage romance with mystery and drama thrown in? These modern day cowboys definitely know how to please a lady in this well-written fantasy. I am really looking forward to reading more of Destiny Blaine’s books in the future.

I’m not usually one for historicals. They just don’t really do it for me. And then I found this book. Wow. It wasn’t what I expected…it was more.

Marissa Day takes a normally overdone topic–sorcerers and Fae–and breathes new life into the idea. The Fae aren’t the cute, sparkling beings I expected. It’s great. Her writing style is fluid. The book starts with a bang and doesn’t let up until the end. I wasn’t completely sure which time period I was in in the book, but it wasn’t a huge distraction. Men with men is something that was totally taboo and yet it seemed to not faze her in the least. I liked that it didn’t, but it was hard to fathom at the same time.

Ms. Day writes some page burning sex scenes. Whoa. I thought the book would spontaneously combust on a couple of occasions. I loved how Miranda, totally unschooled in the ways of sorcerers and catalysts, fell into the knowledge and experiences. It was like I went through them with her. Yeah, I’m still fanning myself.

If you want a book that has a ton of heat, equal parts heart and spice, then you need to read The Seduction of Miranda Prosper.

That said, I think this book could have been leaner. There’s some redundancy in descriptions—for example, flip-flops in the heroine’s stomach get two back-to-back descriptions that say the same thing. Lily has too-stupid-to-live moments by not recognizing that the two male leads are lovers, despite them describing each other as “partners” and sharing the same bed. Her Full Moon Cowboys is one heck of a fantasy. We’re thrown into the action without any lead-in, so the abrupt plunge into this wild, undefined world, while exciting, let my suspension of disbelief wobble. Ultimately, though, I was able to go with the flow. About a third of the way through the book, we’re given some adult conversation about the situation, clarifying things and making them believable. What I didn’t find believable was Lily stopping to admire the décor while she’s running for her life. That information was necessary, but its positioning pulled me out of the story.

Despite my complaints, I loved the flashes of Ms. Allister’s sense of humor. The shower scene is full-on hotness. I liked the way the two male heroes played off each other. They’re complete individuals on the page and, by the tone of their voices alone, I never had any difficulty distinguishing who was who. My favorite part of the book was the way the author subtly wove the theme “marry in haste; repent at leisure” throughout.

Her Full Moon Cowboys is a fast read and if you like humor, and hot, bad cowboys, you’ll enjoy this book.
