Being sheriff of a small but unusual town has lots of perks. Richard knows just about everyone in town by name. He gets free coffee at the Planet Quest café. And he gets to spend as much time as he wants with Amber Grieves. The woman he desires above all others.
Amber is everything he always wanted in a mate — she is strong, kind, the perfect mother and ferocious in a fight… but still he finds himself firmly friendzoned, much to his and his shadow-wolf’s dismay.

For Richard is not any ordinary man. He is a Shadow Walker, a born shapeshifer who’s spent his life on the run from hunters who want to wipe him out.
The body goes through several changes whether it is concerned with menstruation, menopause or generic levitra online pregnancy. With them men can achieve erection of their penis are bathmate pumps, pills viagra no prescription india and surgical operations. According a survey, more than 40% adults suffer from mild to severe cialis australia prices erectile dysfunction and the stunning revelation is that a majority of men avoid accepting that they are impotent. The ladies are easy victim for crooks in college and roads, levitra order shopping malls, busses along with other community areas.
When strange phone calls bring up memories of a dark past that rocks Amber’s soul and strange happenings begin in the woods, Richard might not live long enough to convince Amber to give love a try with the one man who wants to protect her above all others — even if he can’t protect himself.

Sheriff Richard Strong is a Shadow Walker and a frequent customer of Planet Quest cafe’. His frequent visits at the cafe aren’t just for the coffee. The whole town knows that Richard has his eyes set on Amber Graves, a waitress that works there. Will Richard or his shadow win the daily battle pushing him to open up to Amber or will his desire for her remain hidden?

I enjoyed the author’s imagination and writing style. The characters were brought to life with emotions and the author’s expressions of their feelings made them seem real. The emotions and feelings of struggling to express one’s feelings to a love interest, not to mention the fear of opening up your heart to new love because of past hurt.

The hidden attraction between Richard and Amber cause them both to enjoy self-sexual bliss which makes for hot adult scenes and sizzling bedroom descriptions. During the voyeurism of Richard’s wolf shadow he got an eye full of Amber during her heated passion.

I enjoyed the story but didn’t quite understand how the sheriff got a call regarding a robbery in Camp Jolly Times and then Amber volunteers to go along with him. Some how during this trip Richard’s conversation causes Amber to run away. While basking in the sun on a rock Amber starts to daydream. Her vision some what lost me. I am not sure if it’s just a dream of her prior relationship with Todd Ritter or if it’s actual events that happened. I was even more complex when Richard finds Amber and starts to reveal in depth a long version of himself and his skin walker history. They were out on a robbery call but all this talking and getting to know one another transpired. This just seemed like an odd time to bond.

The author did a nice set-up in part one. Both Amber and Richard have a past that seems to keep them bound from opening up and letting go to see what the present offers. Amber has a past abusive relationship that the author touches on and now she is receiving obscene phone calls. Also, Richard starts to open up to Amber about his heritage. Part one is left open ended, hopefully part two will give more depth into their past and if there is hope for their future.

I was delighted with part one and I look forward to reading part two to see how the author continues with the story.

Have you ever finished a book and wanted to tell the author thank you? Star Crossed is a book that I enjoyed from the start. The author did an awesome job in writing and telling a story that I am so thankful to have read.

The book shows emotions of sadness for the lost of Mrs. Adeline Hamilton Bynum, a Legend resident who touched many local children through her participation in the county foster family program. Her passing brings Jasmine Walker back to Legend, Tennessee. Jasmine grew up with a drunk as a father and a mother who committed suicide and was blessed to have Mrs. Bynum around her as a teen. Unfortunately, shame and secrets lead Jasmine to leave town with her mind set to never come back. But Mrs. Bynum saw to it that she would return, and not only return but connect on a relationship that was prematurely severed.

Jack Ackerman was Jasmine’s high school boyfriend along with one of Legend’s star football players. Even though Jasmine left him and Legend over fifteen years ago, he still carries a strong love for her. Will they be able to rekindle the love they once shared? Or once secrets have been revealed will any hope of rekindling their love be lost?

Thank you to the author for writing such a great story. The writing style is wonderful. It delivers a pleasing and believable story in full. There is suspense and unnoticeable twists. This story gives a beautiful vision of love in various realms; young love between a boy and a girl, love from a caregiver who, even though she didn’t birth the children herself, felt compelled to see to them finding happiness and having a chance. And also, the love, no matter how odd it seems, from a father to know he isn’t able to be a good father and he loves his child enough to stay out of her life. The characters were believable and likable and I felt empathy for them.

Star Crossed is an inspiring lesson that in true love there is joy, sadness, loss, growth but overall it is unwavering and fixed like the stars.

Star Crossed is a truly enjoyable read that I recommend to anyone looking for a story that speaks volumes and that will still be felt after the last word is read.

Being attacked in an alley is one thing, but when your attacker bites your neck and drinks your blood, that is a whole different story. When Forensic medical examiner McKenzie Adams is turned into a vampire against her will, the normal life she led is suddenly shattered. Her sexy and charismatic assistant Ron comes to her rescue when he finds her in the alley in the arms of her new maker. He manages to get her back to the safety of her apartment, but not before it’s too late to save her mortality. The next morning McKenzie wakes as a fledgling vampire. She is confused by the attack and chalks it up as a dream, until Ron convinces her of the truth. He also has another revelation—he is a vampire as well. Even though McKenzie is in shock, with the help of Ron, she begins to adjust to her new life. But the happiness is short-lived when her maker, Aaron, comes for her. His blood courses through her veins and he is hell-bent on getting her back. Aaron gives her an ultimatum—she must come with him, or Ron dies. McKenzie has to say goodbye to everything she knows and loves to be thrust into a lonely existence, where she must fight her unwelcome desire for her maker. He is a cold-hearted creature, but she craves his touch like a drug. Can Aaron change his cruel ways and become a man she can love, or will he be the true death of her?

McKenzie Adams is a forensic medical examiner that comes across a body with no blood. Later she is attacked. The attack opens up a world that McKenzie did not even know existed.

Thankfully her handsome assistant Ron is there to help her and walk her through her new life in being a vampire. I found it a little too coincidental that Ron was in McKenzie’s life at the right time to be her knight in shining armor.

I enjoyed the novel. I wasn’t crazy about it, but it was readable and it kept my interest. I can’t really put my finger on why it wasn’t my favorite, but maybe there were a few holes that weren’t touched on or filled in. McKenzie is a young single female and from her description of being sun-kissed, chestnut colored hair down her back and curvy in all the right places I am sure she attracted many men. Her mother and sister Missy were mention but no friends or any type of social life, which seemed odd. And when she’s assaulted and later taken away from her home, Ron is the only person who noticed.

There were several moments when the book was kind of slow, like the author was trying to stretch the book out. The eating, watching movies, and sleeping…I was ready to read some vampire action. There also were a few things that stood out as odd. For example:  If Aaron has full access to humans to feed at his residence why did he travel so far away from home to bite McKenzie and other victims?

The vampire maker and their bond with their fledgling proved to be an interesting plot. I like the author’s writing style. It was easy to follow and I wasn’t lost in the teaching of the vampire life. There were a few twists in the book that I didn’t see coming. The author did a creative job with the alpha male story line. McKenzie had two men in her life and I had a hard time deciding who I wanted her to be with. In Blood Possession you have romance, along with the gore and blood that comes with any vampire tale. There is cruelty to the human prey/blood-givers and the author adds spice that could risk McKenzie’s life for trying to help them.

Blood Possession was a likable read that was entertaining.

Why would Sarah’s deceased husband request that she connect with a family that he seemed to distance himself from while he was alive?

Heart Shifter was a refreshing read that gave just enough. I enjoyed the mystery behind the family secret and also the attraction between Sarah and Mitch. Sarah loved her husband and thought highly of him but his cousin Mitch Mingah has a dark sex appeal that Sarah can’t help feel the pull. From the description the author has given Mitch, he sounds irresistible. The characters were likable and the plot was original. The author has a talent for writing. I even enjoyed the domesticity writing details of the day to day breakfast, grocery shopping and family gatherings.

There were a few typos but nothing that would take away from the reading flow. The ending was slightly predictable but still manages to not leave you disappointed.

This is a book of wolf shifters. However as I stated earlier the author gave just enough of a balance between romance and a soft version of the wolf behavior. I enjoyed the family heritage and family togetherness. If you enjoy a novel of wolf shifters but you don’t want all the violence and killing this will be an enjoyable read for you.

Will this love interest settle Dalhart or will his quest to seek something different have him back on the road again?

The Kerr Construction Company was a book that left me puzzled. Starting with the book title; looking at the title and the cover I was under the assumption that the construction company would be a business owned by the primary character or a family business. That is not the case in this book. Dalhart is, as mentioned in the book several times, a graduate of Texas A&M and a marine who’s no longer on active duty, that for some reason is seeking something different in life. Why? The author really doesn’t go into a lot of details why. There is also no sense of the time era given in the novel. However, there is reference to President Carter being in office so I can only assume the story takes place between 1977-1981.

I am not sure what to take away from this story. Dalhart was a wanderer afraid to settle and commit to a location but settled enough to attend Texas A&M and become a marine. He is okay for some reason settling for a minimum wage job, sleeping in a vehicle and washing up in bathroom sinks were the scope of his existence. He meets Carmen, a newly divorced waitress, and Dalhart told her his status that he doesn’t have a place to stay but she thinks he is the best thing since indoor electricity. She ask him to the movies, and the next time they meet she wants him to meet her mom.

There are snippets of Dalhart work day but it’s not really telling any information. Then in the next sentence he will be with Carman. The story is missing a structured plot. The story is a consistent level tone with no flavor, real conflict or any kind of twist to it.

I’m not saying the author doesn’t have skill. The writing was clear and maybe could be more enjoyed by someone that likes the rugged life or a wanderer. As a woman reader I would have liked to see the man be a man and bring something more to the table, if not romance than something stable. Carmen is newly divorced and what made her attracted to Dalhart from any other man wasn’t really clear. I did enjoy the conversations and time spent between the two. And also when Dalhart was away from Carmen he did miss her and couldn’t wait to be with her again. That was touching.

All in all The Kerr Construction Company was an okay read, but it’s not one that I would highly recommend.

The Virginia Plantation Poplar Ridge is sprawling, secluded, and foreboding. Chris Olson is immediately swept into its somber history and an inexplicable, electrifying passion for Geoff Cameron, her best friend’s brother. Dreams of a Confederate soldier who strongly resembles Geoff and a haunting one-eyed scout cloud her mind further. Through the eyes of the long-dead Margaret, Chris witnesses mysterious events shrouded in the conflict of the Civil War, until little by little, she uncovers Margaret’s dark and terrible secret–and Geoff’s connection to the enchanting woman from the past.

Some pain doesn’t end at death. It can live on to haunt later generations. Margaret has a story to tell or could her motives purely be to haunt those that hurt her?

I found the excerpt from the book titled Whispers from the Grave to be one that I would enjoy since it was from a historical aspect. The author has a voice for expressing description of details. The landscape, the trees, the house all were painted with words into vivid pictures. I enjoyed the over all story but it took patience to get there. To me there was too much going on and it took away from a beautiful story.

The opening for the year 2004 Christine “Chris” Olson was in route from Boston to Virginia to visit her friend, unfortunately she has a flat tire. I would assume she didn’t have a car charger for her cell phone because when her cell phone went dead and she didn’t even attempt to charge it, nor did she try to change the flat tire. But all that is fine because her blond haired knight shows up just in time to change the flat for her. Geoff Cameron is the brother of her friend Judith. Chris is there to visit Judith but spends more time with her brother, Geoff. I found it odd that Chris and Judith didn’t have any girl time together to go shopping, staying up late catching up on old times, none of that type female reunion.

The book had many slow parts that watered down a beautiful story as I mentioned before. The character Chris wasn’t displayed as a strong character. She also seemed more focused on Geoff and then when he started having seizures the book went on and on about his seizures and Chris treating him like a child. She was quick to act on her attraction to Geoff and just as quick to hop in his bed. Like I said she spent more time with Geoff than she did with her friend Judith who she initially came to visit. Chris was quick to say she loved Geoff; I was left feeling puzzled because I missed them building a relationship and feelings for one another. The qualities of them growing fond of each other and getting to know each other were omitted. I would have liked to have felt some kind of growing connection between the two, besides the time spent in the bedroom.

I enjoyed the story of George and Margaret, though it was a sad one, I felt the connection and love between the two. Their story was a story of dedication, heartbreak and survival during a time of war and hardship. The author did a fabulous job in telling the story of George and Margaret in 1867. I was enthralled with the mystery of how a tragic event built into a crescendo of secrets, and pain that left the Cameron family torn.

During Chris’s visit she keeps having visions of people she did not know: George, Margaret and Catherine. I tried not to put too much reasoning and thought into understand how three people of that era could still haunt the people living in the home now. Maybe I could understand Margaret’s soul being unsettled but I didn’t understand why Catherine and George were still around.

The historical events are more real and relatable. Margaret’s story is one I am sure many women of that time can relate to. A woman committed to her man and determined to stay true. But the cruel world rapes her, literally robbing her of a future where she can only see a bleak existence. Torn but also wrapped in a filth she can’t seem to get away from when the desolate act of rape gives her daily reminders. Margaret was displayed as a woman that was strong and that could survive. I didn’t see those qualities in Chris or Beth. The twist to the story of Margaret and her baby was unexpected and kept me reading to see how the author played it out. Margaret couldn’t be judged for the acts that she committed or for the choices she made to not tell George all that happened while he was away.

This is a good pick for anyone looking for a historical mystery with a current day flair.

After tragedy strikes, Imani, Melody, and Lance try to rekindle their college friendship. Can they move forward towards happiness or will ghosts from their past haunt them?

When life’s challenges arise what are your… True Colors?

If you have followed the series you have seen Melody Wilkins, Imani Jordan and Lance Dunn grow from their college years to working adults. We last left the trio in The Color of Love with Lance married to Heather and Imani walking down the isle to marry Marco.

Imani’s sixth sense is very active in this book. Those that know her, such as Melody, know she sees premonitions so this is nothing new, but when her vision is of someone she loves dearly it could turn her world upside down. Will this tragedy strengthen their bond of friendship or open up secrets that have been buried back in college?

I thought I enjoyed book two in this series until I started reading this one. The author started this book with a twist that sets the tone for the rest of the novel. The prior books the author gave a good finale but she did the opposite and started with a bang that had my heart racing as I read along. Reading along and then realized the words no, no, no were repeatedly coming from me. Oh the emotions that this book put me through; I didn’t know if I was suppose to be happy or sad. Either way love was going to find it’s way among the characters.

Lance is divorced from Heather, and I am happy to say he didn’t revert back to his college days of frequent sleep-around-miles. Before Imani’s wedding in book two he confessed his love for her not only verbally but it also showed in his actions. I am starting to like Lance in this book.

I can’t say the same for Melody. She still works my nerves and the accusations she speak in this installment are serious and can be damaging to her marriage and others.

Again, I am happy that I picked this series to read. The author’s writing and talent for story telling really shows in this novel. This was not a simple or boring plot. Once again she incorporates many twist and even a little extrasensory sensation with Imani’s sixth sense and a ghost appearance.

The trio is growing as they marry and have children. I didn’t like the idea of Trevor and his wife Erycah having so many children back to back at such a young age.

I enjoyed seeing these three characters grow and hope the author would consider continuing their story.

A highly recommended read where you grow to know the characters as their friendship has upheld strong bonds, as they endure lost and as they continue on into marriage and parenthood.

The author has a talent for writing and telling a story that flows. I am not surprised the characters are more developed in this installment of the series. The story has a continuous flow with several realistic situations. The author has given readers a deeply personal view on race and that the true meaning of friendship and love goes well beyond the color of one’s skin.

I enjoyed the read and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

A cold night at a upstate university in New York we meet Melody Wilkins, a hopeless romanticize who accidentally bumps into this cute Paul Newman look-a-like named Kevin.

Next is tough girl Imani Jordan who has a sixth sense and is serious about her education.

Finally, is 6’2″ famed campus football player Lance Dunn, who is no stranger to the ladies on campus.

Since they met at freshman orientation the three have formed a lasting bond of friendship. I found it strange the author didn’t give much of a back story to show the details of how they met and even why they met and became so close. Even a glimpse to what attracted them to each other and brought them together is something I wondered through out the book; hoping the author would touch on it, but it never came. However we do see that the bond the three has built is obviously very strong.

With the title being The Color of Friendship I was expecting a vivid description of the characters, however again the author didn’t give much details. Melody was described as having thick blond curls and being of mixed race. A description of Imani and Lance was lacking.

Melody was naive and seemed to have had a sheltered upbringing. Kevin was very manipulative, possessive and turns out to be abusive. Imani worked my nerves because it seemed she didn’t have a life, she just coached and judged everyone else life. Lance was so shallow and didn’t respect himself or females. He seemed to have the idea that he is on earth to concur every female he met.   I can say he was very adamant about having protected sex. The tickling and raspberries I found weird for a bunch of supposedly mature college kids.

At first the story was pretty slow.  They only talked about who liked who, where everyone was working during the school breaks or going to some type of campus party or event.  Readers need to keep in mind that, due to the setting and age of the characters, profanity and sex are commonplace in this story.  Many times I thought about putting it down, thinking it would be a better read for someone closer to college age because nothing exciting was happening.  I didn’t give up, though, and had hopes that something was going to happen and the author did not let me down.

The story picked up tremendously in the middle. The author described a detailed scene of a football play by play in great detail. There was a love scene where her word usage was impressive. The message about abuse was real and relatable. Even though the story could have been shorter and less drawn out I have to say after I finished I was impressed — it ended up being a pretty good read!

This is a book I would recommend reading to those who like a story that builds up to the interesting fast pace part. There is a sequel, and with the way this book ended I will be reading the second installment.
