THE LONG WAY HOME

A guy like Cole Slater is hard to forget. Tina Sanchez should know—for years since high school she’s tried to bury the pain of Cole’s cruel betrayal. But it’s impossible to ignore the man she sees reflected in her young son’s eyes now that Cole is back in her life—and about to meet the child he never knew he had.

Returning home to New Mexico, Cole is determined to put his playboy reputation to rest. Especially now that he knows there’s a little boy looking up to him. And seeing Tina again reignites all the feelings Cole ran from as a teen. Despite his fear that he can’t be the man Tina deserves, he’s determined to try. For his son’s sake—and his own.

Ed commander levitra Hardy clothing quickly became a sensation across the world, but nobody took to the new range more than Hollywood’s celebrity elite. When food is consumed, it works its way through cialis professional uk the digestive tract. Teenage actions and decisions follow fiddle-footed cowboy Cole Slater and homebody Tina Sanchez into adulthood.

Cole returns to Cowboy Creek in New Mexico, a place he’d run from. The back story of why he ran and why he was, as he put it, “such a jackass” in his teens certainly helps the reader see why Tina is skittish when it comes to trusting Cole.

Tina’s back story that connects her with her Abuela and Jedediah Garland, the owner of the Hitching Post Hotel, reaches right into and squeezes the reader’s heart. Tina’s self-esteem is fragile and she guards it well. The very presence of Cole, the love of her life, tries her resolve to the limit.

One of the best parts of the story is little Robbie and the way he sees the world. How he influences the actions of adults is delightful.

The secondary characters like Tina’s cousins Andi and Jane; Cole’s sister Layne and her little son Scott add facets to the story that augment the concept of coping and overcoming heartbreaks. Also, Tina’s Abuela and Jedediah, even though getting on in years, still guard secrets well and manipulate with expert skill, yet with a love that is undeniable.

The Cowboy’s Little Surprise entertains while it makes a strong statement about not letting the past control the future. Redemption and happiness can be realized.

Barbara White Daille’s smooth writing style eases the reader away from the mundane, then into the lives of the characters and a quagmire of emotions.

When Rafael Villar, Lord Vampire of London, stumbles upon a woman in the cemetery, he believes he’s found a vampire hunter—not the beautiful, intelligent stranger she proves to be.

Cassandra Burton is enthralled by the scarred, disfigured vampire who took her prisoner. The aspiring physician was robbing graves to pursue her studies—and he might turn out to be her greatest subject yet. So they form a bargain: one kiss for every experiment. As their passion grows and Rafe begins to heal, only one question remains: can Cassandra see the man beyond the monster?

I’ve been waiting for Rafe’s story and I was not disappointed. This book was fun!

Listed cheap cialis overnight below are some important guidelines which have preventive benefits and can play an important role in sex life. I enjoyed her determination, spunk and sass. I got a kick out of her refusal to be cowed and her fascination about vampires, once she’s accepted that they’re real, and everything else that may or may not come along from the knowing. If anything thwarted her, she didn’t let it block her for long. Her uniqueness is what drew me but her personality kept me. I can see why she drove Rafe, the hero, nuts.

In the previous books, Rafe was very gruff, standoffish, opinionated and a man of few words. I wasn’t sure how in the world Ms. Ann was going to present him as a believable hero, but she did it. He never let his disability slow him down but it did affect his emotions and how he approached things in his life, like his romantic entanglements. The author garnered sympathy and interest from me for her hero and it all worked out.

I think the only thing that rang a sour note in the book was Rafe’s cluelessness about the villain. It’s mentioned he was suspicious, but he was So observant and sneaky and effective in the preceding book. His strength of character seemed a bit diluted in this one. Then again, he wasn’t in love, or fighting falling in love, in the other story either. Perhaps that explains it?

This is the third book in the series and as is true for the second, it’s true for Bite at First Sight – this is a standalone read. It’s easy to enjoy even if this tale is being read out of sequence. The author kept the story focused on Rafe and Cassandra, so a reader shouldn’t get lost. Some references are made to other characters from past books but they don’t play any significant roles except token appearances after all is said and done. However, there is a very believable and solid hook presented in this novel that truly has me wondering. I’m thinking they’ll be a good match based on their first meeting but how is the author going to navigate the emotional landmines laid down in this book for the next? I can’t wait to find out.

I enjoyed it when Cassandra and Rafe finally do get to explore the physical sides of their natures. It was especially entertaining when the heroine figured out what the fuss was all about. Her enthusiasm is delightful and very much appreciated by the hero.

Of course, there is suspense and drama injected into the romance by a very twisted, jealous and unprincipled vampire. Just when I thought the villain was going to get away with his plot, the author pleased me with her course of action. I’m glad everything turned out okay for the doctors. The scenes were tremendously well written and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Bite at First Sight is a great addition to the series and is a story easy to recommend to other paranormal romance fans. This novel is fun, addictive and wickedly entertaining. I couldn’t ask for a better happy ever after for Cassandra and Rafe – it was perfect for their characters and positions in life – or unlife. Ms. Ann certainly has a fan in me.

This is the story of Lillian, a single woman reflecting on her choices and imagining her future. Born in the Midwest in the 1930s; Lillian lives, loves, and works in Europe in the fifties and early sixties; she settles in New York and pursues the great love of her life in the sixties and seventies. Now it’s the early nineties, and she’s taking stock. Throughout her life, walking the unpaved road between traditional and modern choices for women, Lillian grapples with parental disappointment and societal expectations, wins and loses in love, and develops her own brand of wisdom. Lillian on Life lifts the skin off the beautiful, stylish product of an era to reveal the confused, hot-blooded woman underneath.

Lillian’s life was not the ordinary for a woman in the last half of the twentieth century and into the twenty-first century. Her observations, inner feelings, outer actions, indiscretions, and hard-won wisdom make compelling reading.

As a single woman making her way in the world from Missouri to Paris, London, and New York, she struggles with self-esteem issues, unresolved parental issues, and relationship issues.

She learns early that “male pride” is like an electric fence—not to be touched. Each man she has a relationship with reinforces this belief. As spinsterhood sets in, she makes peace with her place in the life of the man she is seeing—whether he is married or single.

Alison Jean Lester’s seemingly simple, understated writing style immerses the reader’s senses into the monotony of life, the glamour of life, the characters’ personal secrets, and the emotions or lack of emotions in relationships that may linger but never last.

The tangled webs woven in Lillian’s life and how she either lives with them or moves on reveals much about humanity and the defense mechanisms used to survive and find peace with decisions made, whether good or bad.

A memorable bit of wisdom offered in the book is: Speak for yourself. Don’t let anyone else speak for you, because they only see what you DO, not what you WANT TO DO.

Lillian On Life is unusual story and gives the reader pause for thought on how his or her own life is playing out.

The house on the cliffside on Rocky Point Road holds a ghost, a hidden treasure of some kind, and decades of memories for the Rosa family. When Detective Sue Mason is assigned to the case, her son and his soon-to-be husband and two dogs move into the house with Denis to protect him from further attacks. Is it drug-related? The wife was alcoholic and smoked grass, but nothing hard. Denis confronts his ghosts as he finds himself attracted to Sue. The key to the plot is found when Denis slides off the edge of the cliff.

Every death leaves behind unanswered questions and unfinished work, but some deaths have more of these than do others.

Denis’ character development was strong. His strengths and weaknesses were woven seamlessly into the plot. Seeing how they affected everything that was going on was interesting. I really enjoy stories that are so sensitive to how the main character reacts to what is happening to him or her. It makes reading them even more enjoyable than it might have been otherwise.

I would have liked to see more time spent developing the other characters in this book as well. While I wouldn’t expect everyone to be as three-dimensional as the protagonist, I did have some trouble figuring out their personalities. Their speaking styles tended to blend in together with one another. This was especially noticeable with Detective Sue Mason given how much time Denis spent going over the case with her. The background information I was given about her wasn’t quite enough for me to form a mental image of what she was like.

The question of what really happened to Denis’ wife wasn’t at all easy to answer. Many of the clues he uncovered could have been interpreted in more than one way, and some of them needed serious thought before I could interpret them at all. I appreciated needing to spend so much time on it as I have a strong preference for mysteries that require the reader to pay close attention to small details in order to solve it. One definitely needs to do that for this story.

Rocky Point Road is a good choice for anyone in the mood for a challenge.

Always the bridesmaid

Planning her sister’s Italian wedding only reminds Jules Lane of how far away she is from finding her own true love. And worse, she’s doing it alongside the brooding, mouthwateringly handsome best man, Stefano DeFiore.

Many individuals without gallbladder have taken the pill or licked the jelly 40 female viagra samples minutes before you go while having sex. To end with it can buy canada levitra be said for ANY worker. If the space gets smaller, pressure goes generic cialis in usa up. Fibroids occur the size range cheapest tadalafil from as small as a pea to large as a melon. Maybe the bride?

Having seen the destructive power of love, Stefano has no time for weddings but Jules’s smile is captivating. Making her feel like the most beautiful woman in the world is one thing, but can he give this blushing bridesmaid a happily-ever-after of her own?

In the second novel of the DeFiore Brothers series most of the characters from the first book return for another Italian romance.

But this time the protagonists are Dante’s older brother Stefano, a widower filled with guilt, and Lizzie’s sister Jules. The two characters are so very different that despite the fact that they fall for each other early on, a happy ending seems impossible for them. But slowly, they begin to trust each other and reveal their painful secrets only to realize they are far less painful when shared with someone who cares. I was also very happy to see Dante and Stefano’s father slowly but surely letting himself be happy again in female company. I thought this was a very sweet, if brief, subplot.

There were some inconsistencies, like when Stefano was described as enjoying some downtime and seven sentences later he practically begs his father to give him work to do so he wouldn’t think of Jules. Also, having just finished the first book in the series, the biggest drawback of this novel was that it was too much like the first one. The characters or the plot didn’t bring anything much new, particularly in the first half of the story. I wished for fresh storylines and fewer clichés.

One thing that stood out and painted Jules as a strong individual, however, was how she realized it was time she started making her own decisions and not let Lizzie guide her through life anymore. Lizzie had always been her big sister and Jules loved her dearly so it was a hard choice to tell her she would not attend grad school even though Lizzie wanted her to and had already paid her tuition fees. This decision made me like Jules that much more.

Best Man for the Bridesmaid is a sweet read and you don’t have to read the entire series to be able to follow the story or get to know the characters. It brings a nice dose of the wedding fever, repressed emotions and angst, and ties it all up in Stefano and Jules’s romantic reunion at the wedding.

Little does he know that not only does Claire Mayhew not want to be found, but she wants nothing to do with him at all…

Gina Conkle creates a captivating “Cinderella” story with a twist that is set in late eighteenth century England.

The Lady Meets Her Match sparkles with humor, entices with conversational innuendos, intrigues with undercurrents of evil, and tantalizes with sizzling foreplay and love scenes.

Claire Mayhew and Cyrus Ryland’s first meeting is in semi-darkness where they sit close together and talk as equals. Emotions awaken that neither of them have experienced before. But Claire and Cyrus are at cross purposes, so Claire runs and Cyrus has Bow Street Runners searching for her.

At age sixteen, Cyrus Ryland failed as a farmer and as a provider for his widowed mother and orphaned siblings. But, with his innate entrepreneurial acumen and hard labor, he becomes one of the wealthiest men in England and is known as King of Commerce. However, when he does not kowtow to the wishes of some noblemen, he finds himself and those he loves in danger of losing all they have gained in a society that still holds the rights of nobility sacrosanct.

Gina Conkle weaves together social, financial, and personal issues of that historical time, creating a story that keeps the reader turning pages. How some of the characters, both primary and secondary, wiggle out of scary situations is believable but still amazing. I did wish for one more scene to let me know that one particular antagonist got his comeuppance. GOOD READING!

There’s something slightly eerie about owning a house that has been passed from one family to the next for generations. Stories that explore why this can be so potentially creepy are among my favorite ones in the horror genre. Having so many of these homes included in the same tale, then, was a real treat for me. I was able to explore multiple histories instead of only one.

I had some trouble warming up to the beginning of this novel. The pacing of the plot was slow and uneven due to the inclusion of multiple flashbacks to things that happened in and nearby the houses many years ago. It also took me some time to figure out what was happening when the narration temporarily switched over to the houses’ perspectives. I found the writing styles of those sections confusing even after I knew how to interpret them because of how informally they used punctuation marks.

Wow, the antagonist was seriously frightening! One of the reasons why I was so freaked out by this villain is that the plot danced around the topic for such a long time. Wondering who or what Nathan and Sarah might be facing took up a great deal of time because there were so few clues about what was really going on.

The narration regularly switched between the present and past tense. The past tense was used for the contemporary scenes, and the present tense was used for events that happened in the houses a long time ago. While it was an interesting way to differentiate between various points in history, I did find it distracting to switch between the tenses so often. Sticking with one of them would have made my reading experience more comfortable.

Sometimes dreams feel like they’re actually happening. At other times real life can be as hazy as a dream. One of the things I appreciated the most about this book was how easily it was able to capture this uncertainty. It worked well for the premise and kept me on my toes as the characters continued to try to figure out what was happening.

The Sisters: A Mystery of Good and Evil, Horror and Suspense is a good choice for anyone who likes the dark, gory side of science fiction.

The search for his missing sister leads him to a woman with secrets that will steal his heart.

The Gangster’s Kiss is set in the Roaring 20’s, and it’s an exciting and sometimes lawless era. Gangsters and the mob had their hands in all walks of life. It was sometimes hard to tell who a person could trust. That’s where the book starts, with good guy John O’Malley going around and doing odd jobs to get the information and connect with the people who could give him answers. One of those ‘odd jobs’ puts him in league with local gangsters but also into the life of the Sheriff’s sister, Grace.

Ms. Ring paints John as a man brought up to always help others. He’s a generous and kind person with a wild side that would both endear and make a woman feel comfortable and protected around him.

Grace comes back home to secrets, death and betrayal. There’s an instant connection between them, chemistry, but it’s not love. Let me be clear, this is not a love at first sight story and is perfect for anyone who does not want to read a love at first sight trope. The chemistry between John and Grace is evident and constant throughout the whole book.

John is an honorable man but more than that he is a family man. It would have been nice to read his life before he went on the hunt for his sister. This is the first book in the series however, it feels like the second book or that I started reading from the middle of the book, which isn’t so.

Despite that, the book was very descriptive with surprises for this reader. The climax was eventful and one that I thought about long after the story ended. I am not an expert on the 20’s era but it was smooth going with a couple of hiccups that for me was shrouded by the atmosphere between John and Grace. I am looking forward to the second book of the series.

Matthew and several others will soon come to know that Jessup isn’t only odd and stands out but his presence will impact all those that are soon to meet him.

Jesse is a magnificent book that I am so glad to have read it. The authors attention to detail and narrative during the historical time of this story is completely engaging. The plot is one that is so unique and it left me with a satisfying feeling. The author truly has a talent for writing and story telling. This is a great story presented in a masterful style.

The story starts out a typical first day for several students at Jesse Rulam Elementary, but this is the 1960’s and a mixed race student Jessup Savorié (Jesse) stands out and anyone knowing the history of the South, knows that this combination is trouble. Jesse’s history in how he came to be in that Alabama classroom is told in such a way that if you knew his story your heart would truly go out to him. Jesse, even at a young age, wearing his pants three sizes too big, didn’t let his appearance or background affect the strong personality that he magnified.

Though the content and language may be offensive to some, the author is telling the story in truth as actual events probably happened during that time.

The characters were vivid and their words and actions told with such liveliness that I couldn’t help but be emotionally stirred. I think the author gave a good depiction of the races and that both sides were spoken for. Reading the thoughts of Matthew was eye-opening for me. I was so glad to see that even though his family told him stereotypes about blacks he was able to decipher the truth for himself.

This is a moving novel that is told in several ways how Jesse helped his classmates, and community. The story is so amazing a reader will be pulled into the story and find it hard to put the book down. Jesse is a positive inspiration during a time that the South was in such chaos. His presence or being is one that can’t be explained. In fact his presence maybe puzzling if you think on it too much or too long. One reasoning could be his impact on each of the lives around him gives him purpose. I won’t reveal the simulation but it was an ah moment when I put the pieces together.

Jesse is a book that I will highly recommend. It is a book that will surely open debatable conversation for a good book club discussion.

A very well written story. This is the second book in this series which can totally be read as a standalone. The story was written in keeping in mind the characters. They shined throughout.

The beginning was great and from then on I was happily anticipating what would happen and how their relationship would develop. Every chapter and page from the beginning increased the anticipation with the well written and descriptive words and the burning passion and chemistry between the lead characters.

What I loved about this book was that Ms. Gerrard wrote and framed all the characters in a way that even the minor secondary characters felt special and enhanced the whole story. The multiple points-of-view not only gave me an idea what the characters were feeling and thinking but made me understand the plot a lot deeper.

However, the ending was a little disappointing for me. Not throw the book disappointing, just not what I expected. What I anticipated and what happened were very far apart in a good and a bad way. In a good way because what happened was surprising and I like surprises. The ending was simple, I was looking for more drama and action, nonetheless, it was satisfying.

This is a read for those who love contemporary romance with damaged heroes that will likely touch your heart.
