Elliot Von Doppler and his friend Leslie think nothing ever happens in Bickleburgh, except inside the gleaming headquarters of DENKi-3000—the world’s fifth-largest electronics factory.

Beneath the glass towers and glittering skywalks, there’s a rambling old mansion from which all the company’s amazing inventions spring forth. And no one except Uncle Archie knows what’s behind the second-to-last door at the end of the hall.

Until Elliot and Leslie are invited to take a glimpse inside.

They find stooped, troll-like creatures with jutting jaws and broken teeth; tiny winged things that sparkle as they fly; and huge, hulking, hairy nonhumans (with horns). It is unlike anything they’ve ever seen!

But when Chuck Brickweather threatens to shut down the DENKi-3000 factory if a new product isn’t presented soon, the creatures know they are in danger. And when Uncle Archie vanishes, it’s up to Elliot, Leslie, and every one of the unusual, er, “employees” to create an invention so astonishing it will save The Creature Department.

Information has taste? Robert Paul Weston’s The Creature Department is one delightful and utterly unpredictable idea and event after the next. We should expect nothing less from a book with a glow-in-the-dark cover!

Elliot Von Doppler accepts an invitation from his (rather mysterious) uncle to visit a research and development department at a local factory and…all at once… the summer doldrums have ended. He and pal Leslie are confronted with the inexplicable, the somewhat disgusting but otherwise-quite-nice, and quite desperate group that are in charge of company inventions. Herein we are catapulted into a world that we can make sense of, but certainly cannot predict. It’s a fun romp with odd creatures (and a few great illustrations) odd inventions, and odder executives. Science and creativity meet and so much fun erupts! Loads of humor collide with some slimy descriptions, and manage to create a mild level of suspense from one scene to the next.

All age readers will enjoy the ideas about friendship, loyalty, and a sense of the ridiculous; and likely share a great desire to try out the famous dim sum recipes, too. Although this story is meant for Middle school readers – this adult reader was completely entertained from start to finish.

My Recommendation: buy this for the young reader on your list, but read it yourself before you pass it along!

An extraordinary portrait of true love that will move anyone who has a first love story of their own. Axi Moore is a “good girl”: She studies hard, stays out of the spotlight, and doesn’t tell anyone how all she really wants is to run away from it all. The only person she can tell is her best friend, Robinson–who she also happens to be madly in love with.

Research shows that one in cheapest levitra http://downtownsault.org/available-properties/downtown-living/ seven men has a chance of getting prostate cancer at some point in their lifetime. When Axi spontaneously invites Robinson to come with her on an impulsive cross-country road trip, she breaks the rules for the first time in her life. But the adventure quickly turns from carefree to out of control after the teens find themselves on the run from the police. And when Robinson suddenly collapses, Axi has to face the truth that this trip might be his last.

A remarkably moving tale very personal to James Patterson’s own past, FIRST LOVE is testament to the power of first love–and how it can change the rest of your life.

Good girl Axi Moore is about to shock the world – and herself – by doing the unthinkable. Abandoning her father, her perfect grades, and everything else she’s ever held dear, she’s about to propose an adventure to her best friend – and one true love – Robinson. What starts out as a fun getaway from life and obligations soon turns to something much darker. Will love be enough to see Axi through?

Axi Moore and I are an awful lot alike. Good students, good kids, and living life on the straight and narrow. What Axi possesses that I’ve always lacked was an adventurous streak. I found it curious that such a self-proclaimed good girl would drop everything, risking her father’s displeasure as well as her GPA, just to take a spontaneous trip across the country. Love or not, it seemed odd to me. However, as the story unravels, you begin to understand more and more of Axi’s motivation behind what she’s doing. It becomes less of a shock and more of a last-ditch effort to prove herself to Robinson. Axi is one heck of a woman for a teenager.

Robinson is every teenager’s dream as well as every father’s nightmare. High school dropout and car thief supreme, Robinson is charming, witty, and unequivocally devoted to Axi Moore. The story of how two very different kids became such good friends nearly broke my heart. However, it gives you hope when you realize that after all they’ve been through, they are still completely devoted to one another, their friendship, and possibly more. By the end of the novel, Robinson has moved from simply a juvenile delinquent to a very passionate, surprising young man.

Knowing that First Love has root in James Patterson’s own past only makes the story more gripping, more poignant in the end. First Love will run you through all the emotions you own – I found myself laughing one minute, worrying for Axi and Robinson the next, and crying more often than I want to admit to. In spite of all the tears I shed, I found myself uplifted and thankful for having read this novel. One of the best things I’ve read in a long time without a doubt.

“A lone guitarist played acoustic guitar over in a corner. Jazz renditions of old songs. Beautiful and so interesting on that kind of instrument. Softly he sang, “It seems we’ve stood and talked like this before…”

Readers will fall for Paul and so hope that Celeste will stop telling herself things like “Absurd you foolish old woman” and allow herself a chance.

Kudos to the publisher here.  The author definitely stepped outside the box on the character and storyline. No Time For Green Bananas is a real gem of a short story that will delight romance fans and especially more mature readers.

Everyone seems to have a story… but who’s telling the truth? And who wants her dead? Is Guy part of the solution? Or part of the problem? To discover the facts, she’ll have to untangle a web of deceit, lies, and secrets, dating back over thirty years.

First, I have to say that this was one of the most exciting and heart stopping stories I have read in years. I think this author is fabulous. I could not believe how well this book was written.

My interest was captured on page one, then within a couple of pages the excitement and frightening events begin. I could not even read this in one sitting. I had to keep putting it down to catch my breath.

This was written so well, that even though the reader knows that the heroine, Bailey, was kidnapped at birth, this just makes the story even more fascinating as I wanted her to find out, but it took a long while. In the meantime, she and her new protector, Guy, who had been hired to find her, spend the rest of the story evading the bad guys. Note, I said bad guys, plural. They just kept popping up. One would be gotten rid of, and then another would be on their trail. It was really exciting.

People kept trying to kidnap her, kill her, and kill Guy. No matter how hard they try, they can’t seem to evade the people chasing them. Even when they reach their final destination. they are not safe.

I really loved this book, and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery. I give it 5 Stars.

It’s no wonder that Peri should possess some of the magical talent that her mother, the High Lady Kayli, is known for.

However, the young and impetuous Peri is determined to prove that her swordsmanship, not her magic, is her true calling.

Now they must depend on each other in order to survive. And face the prophecy they are destined to fulfill — together…

What is destiny and can you fight it? Peri thought her life was going just the way she wanted it to until she is sent off to her aunt’s to study magic. She doesn’t care about her very weak magical powers. She wants to be a warrior and prove herself with her swordsmanship. But everything she tries to do in order to follow her own true path seems to go awry. Is an ancient prophesy really forcing her into a destiny she doesn’t want?

Waterdance is a complex and fast-moving adventure with surprises on every page. I literally couldn’t put the book down. Peri captivated me from the very first paragraph, and then once she tries single-handedly to rescue a prisoner from a Sarkond warrior camp, I rode with her willingly along a very adventurous path. Anne Logston is very skilled at developing her characters and both Peri and Atheris, the Sarkond heretic she rescues, are real and alive. The two of them grow in many ways as they are forced to learn about each other as more than just traditional enemies. They have to work together, each needing the other, in order to stay alive. And each of them has secrets but in spite of those, they manage to develop a working relationship.

The setting is described richly and precisely so that when I was creeping along back alleys with Peri, I really felt as if I were right there, smelling the smells and feeling the “feeders” reaching for me. The pacing is excellent and the pages just flew by as I raced from one adventure to another. Peri and Atheris also come from very different cultures with totally different belief systems and they soon run into the question of whether or not they have to fulfill a certain destiny. I found the discussions around this to be extremely thought provoking.

Waterdance is the second in a series, but it stands alone just fine. I am glad that I read Firewalk first, because I do like to read a good series in order and this is an excellent series. But Peri wasn’t even born when the earlier novel took place and the plot and characters are totally new. Lovers of fantasy are sure to enjoy Waterdance and indeed, the entire series and I hope the next book comes out quickly.

Being the daughter of a High Lord means that Kayli’s life is never totally hers. She is progressing well in her magical studies in the Temple of Inner Flame when suddenly her father arrives to let her know that he has made an arranged marriage for her with the heir to the throne of a neighboring country with the hopes that the two warring nations could find peace.

This novel is Kayli’s story and I was very impressed with the way Anne Logston has created a rich and fully drawn character, one who develops and changes as the story progresses. Kayli is young and powerful, on her way to becoming an initiate in the order, showing an amazing talent even as a novice. I sensed her pride in her accomplishment and her great disappointment when just as she is to take her first fire-walk, she is stopped by the arrival of her father. As the novel progresses, Kayli develops in maturity and dignity. She handles the news of her impending marriage with as much calmness as her fiery nature will allow, realizing that even if things go smoothly, her path is nevertheless uncertain.

The plot is complex and full of suspense and surprises. The pacing is excellent, and this book is a real page-turner. The two nations of Bregond and Agrond are as different as any two nations could be, primarily because of the vast differences in their physical climates and geographies. Bregond is very dry whereas Agrond is lush and green. The physical differences are of course reflected in the cultures as well, so Kayli and her new husband, Randon, have their work cut out for them in order to bring a lasting peace to these nations, a peace that powerful forces are determined to destroy.

This is the first novel in the Firewalk series and I found it to be totally captivating. Readers of fantasy are sure to find a new favorite with Firewalk and I look forward to future novels in the series.

When the town of Lovington is invaded with protesters and Clint is threatened, the residents come together in support. With the help of their friends and family, Clint and Sara fight for both their newfound love and shifter freedom.

Clint and Sara seem to have a similar goal in life, to protect those around them. Clint has done this most of his life by joining the service, as well as protecting his shifter friends and allies. Sara also has this drive, either just ingrained in her from birth, or by seeing her father the sheriff doing it for years. Together they make one heck of a team, including in the bedroom.

I had been introduced to Clint in previous stories, yet I still didn’t know much about him. I enjoyed the little bit of intrigue I had about him from the beginning. Clint is clearly a man who takes personal pride in his duty, which includes protecting those around him. He is even willing to sacrifice himself to accomplish this. He also has a way of accepting others that I found charming. While Sarah is human he doesn’t seem to care, and accepts her and those she holds dear almost immediately. He is a superhero in my eyes.

Sarah is not to be outdone by Clint. She too protects those she holds dear with the fierceness I would expect from a strong woman like herself. She accepts shifters, and the world around her, with a certain amount of bravado that others would not be capable of.

This story picks up where the last one ended. It can be read alone, but there may be a little disconnect with some of the conflict. I will say that most of these stories in this series are so addictive that you can read through them quickly, so going back to get acquainted with the other characters and previous plot build will not be a challenge. I have and will continue to recommend author Crissy Smith and The Were Chronicles to anyone looking for an entertaining shifter story, especially if you like a little spice.

His heart wasn’t in it… Dom Niles Malloy has locked his favourite flogger in a drawer and has all-but left the lifestyle, but then Brandy Hess shatters his solitude and shakes up his life, challenging him to fully live again.

What you see isn’t what you get…

Though he was once a respected and well-known Dom, Niles Malloy rarely attends functions at the Den, and he has no interest in ever having another permanent relationship. He satisfies his occasional desire for kink by playing with subs who have no expectations.

Professional sub Brandy Hess has known Master Niles for years, and when he invites her to play with him, she accepts. But she’s unprepared for the reaction she has to his intense brand of play. In their shared, emotionally intimate moments she sees the weariness in his features, and she has a dangerous and compelling urge to know him better.

As she surrenders to him a second time, Brandy wonders if she’s lost her sense of self-preservation. She’s attracted to an enigma, a man with an edge, someone as remote as he is demanding, and her life will never be the same…

As another installment in the Mastered series, like all others, For the Sub can be read as a standalone. Just like previous books in the series, this is another superb novel that hooked me from page one.

After the death of his wife, Master Niles is still not himself. Sure, he’s still part of the scene but his heart is not into it, until he meets Brandy. I liked Master Niles from page one. He’s intelligent, seductive, good looking and of course, dominant. However, his dominance is a little different. He doesn’t expect the sub to act like a perfect model, he wants more than just a pleasing answer, he wants honesty and truth in his encounters and he gets that from Brandy. As an added bonus, Niles knows how to treat animals (I think I sighed loudly more than once when he was interacting with Brandy’s pets).

Though there would be no story without Master Niles, I believe the star of the show is Brandy. She’s not what one would usually expect to see in a submissive (and I’m not the only one to think so, Niles thinks at one point: “She straddled him and tugged his T-shirt from his jeans. Eleanor would have never been so bold. At the Den, neither would Brandy. But here, her natural personality shone. He liked it—her—more and more.”).

Brandy’s personality is something I loved about this story. She is a character that has a life beyond BDSM. She has a budding business, knows all about tomatoes and has pets. A heroine with a soft heart, Brandy was not only unusual in that sense; she was also experienced in the scene. Unlike other novels in which the woman wants to experiment with BDSM or has submissive tendencies and is just waiting for the right Dom to appear, Brandy was a professional submissive that knew what she wanted and how she wanted it at all times. She was the one in control. She was more than a submissive. She was her own person outside of the bedroom and inside; and even in the sizzling hot sex scenes, I could see that degree of control that every submissive has over his or her Dom. Of course, Niles saw it too, and the bond that grows between them at every passing page goes beyond the sex.

It is worth mentioning, that unlike previous books in the Mastered series, I felt that there was no explicit talking through everything occurring in the BDSM scene. Perhaps, because none of the characters were new to it or because Cartwright predicted that readers might already know the basics, we were dunked right into the world of Dominance and submission. Albeit, I found the kinkiness in this story is of a much lesser degree than others in the series. For the Sub was a sweeter novel (yet still very erotic).

Though the ending seemed a little rushed, this is another great read by Sierra Cartwright. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series (finally, Damien’s story is coming)!

When men fight over the feisty new arrival in town, the battle for her hand begins…

Annalee Gallagher loses her parents, home, and business in the Great Fire of Chicago. When she travels to Cicero Creek in the Wyoming Territory to start a new life, more heartache awaits her, and so do the attentions of several men–for good and for evil. Why was her stagecoach attacked, and was the shot that zinged over her head one night a wild bullet or a bad aim?

Boone Hartwell, the marshal of Cicero Creek, suspects someone is out to kill the new spitfire in town. She amuses him and touches a lonely part of his soul, but keeping her safe is a fulltime occupation. More importantly, can a white man raised as Cheyenne rise above her other suitors to win her heart? One thing is for certain in his determined mind: He’s the man for Annalee.

PRECAUTIONS : Never take Apcalis in combination with the restriction of comfortable sleeping cialis sale positions, as well affects pregnant women. Annalee is going to Cicero Creek to meet her grandfather and live with him. She certainly didn’t expect the stagecoach to be attacked!

I enjoy a western once in a while and this sweet romance novelette was just the ticket for my “taste” of the old west. Ms. Davis writes with historical facts with good humor and makes her characters endearing.

Annalee’s hat gets shot off her head, but she’s still mad at the man who shoved her on the floor and is lying on her shooting back at the robbers. He’s hurting her burns and he’s rude anyway. The fact that he’s the local sheriff does not impress her much. When she sputters about the finishing school she attended, he just informs her she must have failed the deportment course. This makes her even madder!

Annalee’s parents had died in the Chicago fire and her home and work place both burned up. Her grandfather was her only living relative. When the doctor examined her after the stagecoach ride, he sadly informs her that her grandfather was shot in the back and had died two weeks ago. What was she to do now?

Little does she know that arriving in town has set all the bachelors on notice like bird dogs. Boone is already trying to stake his claim on her, but she didn’t come here to get married. She came to run a fabric store and do some sewing for the town folk. She’d live in her Grandfather’s home until they found a will and determined ownership. Then someone shot at her!

My favorite part is when she meets Boone’s Native American brother. He’s all Indian and she’s speechless when she sees him. So he tells her that her hair is safe, he’s already scalped five people this morning. She faints again…

The conversations are fun, the killer isn’t identified until the end of the story, and romance grows along the edges of the tale. It’s a fun read and a smooth journey for Annalee now that she’s come home to Cicero Creek. Ms. Davis does a very nice job with this story.

One girl, two guys, no strings.

Kara North is on the run. Fleeing from her controlling fiancé and a wedding she never wanted, she accepts the chance offer of refuge on Liddell Island, where she soon catches the eye of the island’s owner, erotic photographer Ric Liddell.

But pleasure comes in more than one flavour when Zachary Blackwater, the charming ice-cream vendor also takes an interest, and wants more than just a tumble in the surf. Zach offers her warmth that she never felt from her fiancé, and soon it’s not just the ice cream that’s melting.

When Kara learns that the two men have been unlikely lovers for years, she becomes obsessed with the idea of a threesome. Soon Kara is wondering how she ever considered committing herself to just one man.

It has been seen that men suffering from sexual problems tend to ordine cialis on line look out for several sexual products. cialis pills wholesale Knowing this, I guess I’d rather try and use natural remedies to cure erectile dysfunction. Jobless and homeless she finds herself on Liddell Island ready to housesit her jet-setting brother’s new home. She soon bumps into Ric Liddell, who comes complete with fort as well as island, and she is mesmerized by his photographic skills, his sexy go-for-it demeanour and the mysteries that surround him and his ‘friend’ Zach.

I devoured Anything But Vanilla. I didn’t just like it, I LOVED it! This was my first book my Ms Ellis and it will not be my last. After the first chapter I punched the air in joy. It has been a long time since I’d read seriously good erotica, there have been more books that I can count deleted from my Kindle because every Tom, Dick and Harry is having a go at it and I can’t get past a few pages. Well let me tell you, this book is written by a talented professional.

The first chapter pulled me in, and exactly how an erotic novel should begin, it showed our heroine, Kara having a sexual encounter that is momentous for her sex life. Having just broken up from the evil Gavin, the stranger she pulls in the night club allows her to free herself and let loose the lust that’s been harnessed for so long. It’s a great beginning and the heat and twists and turns in the plot just keep coming and coming and coming.

There are two heroes, Ric and Zach, and I fell for them both. Each are different, and not just in their physical descriptions but in their personalities, their fears, their passion. Like Kara I would not have been able to choose between these two hotties.

The setting, Liddell Island, also captivated me. I could see it clearly in my mind’s eye. The fort, the cliffs, the causeway that blocked it off from the mainland when the tide came in. The author completely transported me there, and like a good book should achieve I was submerged in the landscape and the sights and smell. Oh, and the ice-cream van… I won’t spoil it, but I loved the scenes with that.

The sex is hot, yes, but it is also sensitive, wild, risky and in a couple of scenes boundary pushing. I loved being in all three characters heads as they got it together, it made me feel like I was really part of their gang. I’d love to be able to see the pictures Ric took, that would make my day!

As I said, I’ll be looking out for more by this author. Her writing is accomplished, her voice fresh and at times raw, and her characters came to life from the page into my mind in a seamless bound. Bravo.
