Running from your past never works, especially when it’s hunting you down.

Former yellowjacket queen, Balsa, has taken refuge with her cousin Juniper after the destruction of her own home by the legendary beemen. When other yellowjacket cities disappear, Balsa must choose between her oath of secrecy and her duty to Juniper’s children. But the beemen have other plans, and Balsa’s choice is not among them.

How would you react if no one heeded to your warning? Balsa knows the beemen are coming again but cannot get anyone in the hive to listen to her.

As a child I spent many lazy summer afternoons observing ants, butterflies and other insects as they crawled around on the ground or zipped through the air. It never occurred me to wonder what they were thinking, though. Legend of the Beemen draws the reader into, what for many of us may be, unfamiliar territory with ease. No sooner does the plot begin than you’ll begin thinking like a bug. Fear, anger, panic and every other emotion are instantly identifiable by scent and the strict hierarchy of the hive is never to be upset. Internet has changed the playing field and growing number of US consumers are finding out about it on their levitra without prescription own and asking their doctors about it. It prevents neurodegenerative diseases such as cialis levitra generico dementia and Alzheimer’s from developing. Characteristics of Kamagra Jelly Studies have found that the Sildenafil present in Kamagra medication specifically cute-n-tiny.com cialis france affects the PDE-5 enzyme. While these side effects are mild, if they don’t subside cheapest price for tadalafil after the effects of the medication have worn off, then you should seek medical assistance, particularly if you do not have a job.

The end was a little unusual but it was foreshadowed early on and fits in perfectly with the established tone. After reading it for a second time I cannot help but to agree that this book should not have ended any other way.

I did finish this story wishing we could know more about what happened earlier in the timeline. Ms. Tarvin gives the reader more than enough information to explain why Balsa fears the beemen so fiercely but Juniper’s resistance to this threat is never really explored. Is she too afraid to consider the possibility that her cousin is correct? Does she think the beemen’s destruction has been exaggerated? Hopefully these questions will be answered in a sequel one day as there is still material here that hasn’t been fully explored.

If you’re even the slightest bit interested in seeing the world looks from an insect’s point of view Legend of the Beemen is definitely the book for you. I know I will never look at insects the same way again.

The Killings in Boulder Valley is a terrifying short story of murder, love, and revenge.

When I first started to read this story I thought they’d been some mistake on the page count because it seemed to go into the background of one character with lots of detail. However, I soon realized how clever Ms. Blumhagen had been in packing in so much detail and information in this very short story. It’s a gritty mystery and the author gave us insight into a killer and the killer’s mind which, as I mentioned, isn’t an easy thing to do in a short piece.

The victims were also clearly drawn and I felt myself wishing they could escape the killer. The dialogue is very realistic sounding and the pacing fast. I also enjoyed the wilderness setting and thought it added just the right touch to the theme of this story.

If you like a mystery with lots of depth but haven’t got time for a full length novel, I’d recommend this one to you.

Brokenhearted after the death of his wife and infant son, Phillip Graves—Viscount Danbury—lives only for pleasure, changing his mistress every few months. After his mistress-to-be is indisposed, he acquires a temporary replacement who, to his surprise, offers him something he never thought to find—a second chance at love.

After being forced on the streets by her late father, Franny Talbot is desperate to escape the whoring life. The chance to be under an aristocrat’s temporary protection gives her more than a path to freedom, though. Philip’s skilled lessons in sensuality show Franny all the delicious and titillating ways a man can possess a woman. And she unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with a man who can never truly be hers.

It’s been a while since I read a story that hooked me from the first line, but Temporary Mistress definitely fits that category.

I fell in love with this heroine from the start. She was feisty, intelligent, and made absolutely no excuses, despite her stature and position in life. Where others may cower in fear, Franny held her head high and did whatever had to be done to move ahead, never apologizing nor feeling sorry for herself, although she had every right.

I enjoyed the hero of the story just as much. Phillip’s heart was closed to all around him, which could have led him to become cold-hearted and cruel, but instead he was fair and straight-forward. He had his reputation with the ladies, but was always certain when their time ended (and even during their time together), the women were well taken care of.

Ms. French’s writing is wonderful. Her descriptions were vivid and her dialogue was appropriate and helped keep the reader in the time period the story was set it. I do wish she had taken a little time to explain what the ton was. It’s a term I had not heard of prior, and had to look it up. But once I did, all the pieces fell into place and her use of names and terms was spot on. I loved the way she would switch from one point of view to the other, skipping a line so it was easy to follow, but allowed me, as a reader, to know what each main character was feeling as the story progressed.

The villains in the story, though a minor element, were very well formed and the anxiety of whether they would find Franny had me cheering for her all the more. I was hoping Phillip would become the champion for his love and I was not disappointed. Even better, Franny was no wilting flower. She fought for herself. No damsel in distress in this story!

There were a couple of weaknesses, however. There were a few places where I felt the story was either rushed or stopped abruptly and shifted scenes. The first was during the scene where the couple made love for the first time. The scene was wonderfully described, and flowed easily, but it seemingly stopped as soon as they “finished,” and we were on to the next chapter. It was a bit jarring and took me out of the story temporarily.

The second weakness, and in my opinion the most important, was during a key break through. Just as Franny was able to crack through Phillips hard exterior, and he finally opened up to her about the loss of his family, we skipped ahead several days. The author simply made mention that they talked more about it as the days progressed. To me, it was a key time that the two could have been connecting at a deeper level – falling in love – but instead was skipped over, much to my dismay.

There were other missing elements, the biggest of which is the two never admitting their love for each other. The first “I love you,” is one of my favorite parts of romance stories, and although the feeling was most certainly there, it was never said, and I missed that.

Negatives aside, the story was definitely enjoyable. I loved feisty Franny, and the obvious admiration Phillip had for her. Their interaction, his teaching her the ways of love while she taught him an appreciation for life, was a joy to witness and I enjoyed it very much. I would love to revisit this couple, and see how their lives have progressed (or even how they plan for a wedding). If you like a story that allows you to travel to a different time and witness two strong characters falling in love, Temporary Mistress is one I would recommend!

When tragedy strikes Michele Windsor’s world, she is forced to uproot her life and move across the country to New York City, to live with the wealthy, aristocratic grandparents she’s never met. In their old Fifth Avenue mansion filled with a century’s worth of family secrets, Michele discovers a diary that hurtles her back in time to the year 1910. There, in the midst of the glamorous Gilded Age, Michele meets the young man with striking blue eyes who has haunted her dreams all her life – a man she always wished was real, but never imagined could actually exist. And she finds herself falling for him, into an otherworldly, time-crossed romance.

Michele is soon leading a double life, struggling to balance her contemporary high school world with her escapes into the past. But when she stumbles upon a terrible discovery, she is propelled on a race through history to save the boy she loves – a quest that will determine the fate of both of their lives.

What would you do if your true love were born a hundred years before you? Sixteen-year-old Michele Windsor finds out. When her mother dies, she moves across the country to live with her wealthy grandparents in New York. There, she’s surrounded with opulence, a first for her.

Michele is grieving, of course, but then something very strange happens. She gets transported back in time to the fascinating Gilded Age—1910. At a fancy ball, she makes eye contact with the young man who has haunted her dreams for years, and it’s a magical moment. Philip pulls her aside, equally entranced. They develop a friendship and more. She gets yanked back to her present but finds her way back to him periodically. These are two completely endearing characters. Philip is so respectful and romantic he sets a new standard. Michele is his equal, deserving of this great guy, and the chemistry between them is amazing. When they get separated, it’s heart wrenching.

The descriptions of the era, as well as those of the twenties and forties enrich the story and make the world of the characters realistic. Michele’s adventures in the past are interesting. The subplot adds intrigue with its family mystery. Supporting characters are just right.

This is a fast-paced book, hard to put down, and so well written. It’s moving emotionally and lovely in presentation. The author is a singer/songwriter, and the original songs mentioned in the book can be found online. I look forward to reading the sequel to this great story and highly recommend this book.

When soccer star Chris Fischer moves next door to an openly gay classmate, he doesn’t realize the wall between their rooms will be so thin he’ll hear his neighbor’s every move. But soon he and Peter become friends, and Chris is intrigued—imagining what happens on the other side of the wall.

Active on the Queer Student Council, Peter Cohen wishes he wasn’t so damn hot for his straight neighbor. He can’t tell if Chris is flirting or in denial or what, but Chris’s innocent overtures lure Peter into flirtation that throws his world into chaos. Peter doesn’t want to date a closet case, but he desperately, passionately wants Chris.

Soon Chris must choose whether to run away from his new feelings or embrace a relationship with the guy he loves. And Peter must decide if he can give his heart to a guy who hasn’t yet figured it all out.

The last thing Peter wanted was to be forced back in the closet, even if it was for the sexiest jock on campus. Chris may have seen himself as straight, but it was clear to Peter that he was not as straight as he would like others to believe. The question is, was he trying to deceive others, or was he deceiving himself?

Peter seems like the kind of person anyone would love to be around whether they are straight, gay or in between. Some people just have a personality that draws others to them like a magnet. This magnetism made the character realistic to this reader. I could picture him sitting on the bed discussing everyday life with me the same way he did with his BFF Nathaniel. This aspect is what immediately drew me into the story and helped to keep my interest throughout.

Chris on the other hand was your typical self-conscious college kid trying to find himself. Personal loss made this search even more critical. Going to college away from home is tough enough, but dealing with the death of a loved one made this more tense. I think Chris’s story of self-discovery is inspirational to anyone whether they be straight or gay; male, or female. I could not help but be awed by how accepting he seemed to be of everything. Whether it be the fact that he was friends with a gay man, or that he started to have a tingly feeling every time he thought about Peter. He seemed to take everything in stride and just go with what felt right to him.

It’s been a while since I read a story that I knew the characters would stick with me, and this is one of those stories. I have no doubt that Chris and Peter will be replaying their story in my head for at least the next week.  I would recommend this story to anyone who loves inspiring story lines and characters.

Emily, executive vice president in a large national company, is tired of looking and feeling bored. For her 33rd birthday she treats herself to a bag of sex toys at a party given by a good friend. Many of her new toys suggest that the powerful, control-driven woman is wishing for a submissive role in bed.

She finds just what she’s longing for in Kevin, the new contractor she hires to redo her master bedroom suite. Aside from the obvious, ‘works well with hands’, Kevin is tall, lean and gorgeous. He’s also an intense, sexually dominant man who immediately sees the possibilities in a relationship with a woman like Emily .

The attraction between them is irresistible. After a home cooked dinner, Kevin takes Emily up on her invitation for him to lead her. Eager and willing, he takes her on a path she’s never been down before to the most fulfilling and fabulous sex she’s ever had. Neither one wants to give up their new found joy in each other. But too soon Emily’s past shows up on her doorstep to interfere.

This roaring hot tale is full of interesting surprises and great ideas! I was thoroughly entertained on every level. I enjoyed how Ms. Cayto led the reader through the emotional and sexual adventure of Emily’s life which was a personal revelation at a critical time. Kevin is perfect for this experience and I hoped that the two would make their way to a happy ever after because he made that so easy to envision.

When Jesse meets third-year law student Aadon at the library where he works, their mutual attraction is instant and obvious.

Despite the sparks, they just can’t seem to make it work. Aadon is mired in guilt over his inability to help his older brother, damaged by events far too similar to Jesse’s past. Jesse is stuck in his own desperate wish to forget the painful shadow that continues to threaten him and any hope of a happy future.

The only way to move forward is for Jesse to acknowledge he’s broken and for Aadon to accept he can’t make him better.

Jesse is running from his past and his own desires but Aadon may be the one man who can love and protect him. Jesse ran across country to get away from his ex-Dom and abuser but he’s never really recovered from those events. When he meets Aadon, Jesse is caught between wanting to submit to the dominant and kind man, and flashbacks to his past. Even Aadon’s careful seduction and loving care can’t quite break through Jesse’s pain. Aadon is dealing with his own painful issues as well, which eerily mirror Jesse’s trauma. The two men must find a way past their pain to find a hopeful future together.

Better is an attempt to show how two damaged men can get beyond their painful pasts and issues and be happy together. It’s a nice idea and a good concept. It’s always nice to see authors stretch and try to give happy endings to people who have been scarred and broken in the past. This might result in causing delay in producing tadalafil in uk result. One viagra line simply needs to press the sachet to devour it. Unfortunately Better doesn’t quite heal the two men enough to make their happy ending believable. In a way, this is a credit to the strong writing and the complexity of the characters that I truly believe they are scarred and troubled young men. I also believe they’re trying to move past their issues, I just wasn’t entirely sold on the belief that they should do that together.

However, that’s my opinion and the story shows how very much they love each other and want to be together. Aadon’s brother Ricky is a real highlight and his struggle with his own rape and abuse – eerily mirroring in some ways what Jesse went through – gives a nice contrast to Jesse’s response. And while Ricky is an emotional character, he’s also one of the true bright points. However, Ricky’s therapist is too mothering and interfering to be realistic and there are numerous coincidences that occur to give easy solutions to the pretty complicated and difficult problems presented.

Due to these issues the story didn’t really resonate with me as much as I’d hoped. The author has a good, solid writing style and the concept is one that really leaps out. The intensity of the issues are always offset in good ways with humor or support from other characters, which makes for a more rounded and easy to read story. The characters are well developed and genuine, coming across as almost painfully honest. It’s a good story and worth reading as I think fans of the genre who can look past the few problems may enjoy it.

High school geometry teacher, Donna Russell likes her life well-ordered and logical, even if it is a tad solitary at times. But when a charming co-worker at the local food bank disappears just before Christmas, Donna is left with more questions than solutions.

After the missing man’s neighbor, muscle-bound EMT Sam Holton, volunteers as Donna’s crime-fighting sidekick, sparks fly between them. Donna wonders if Sam can be trusted, or if he’s trying to throw an unknown into her calculations—and her life.

And when police recover a body from the icy Niagara River, Donna is faced with the most frustrating equation of all: can murder plus mayhem ever equal romance?

Something smells fishy at the food pantry, and it isn’t the old cans of tuna.

I knew I was in for an entertaining story as soon as I met Donna on the first page. As Donna restocks the shelves at the food pantry, she’s mildly annoyed at having to fill in for Neal, who missed his shift for the second Saturday in a row. I could clearly picture her banging cans of food around as she groused about men and her nonexistent social life. Even though Donna is wishing for a romantic relationship, I like that she didn’t wallow in self pity. She finds self-worth in her job, her volunteer efforts, and her faith. Things take a more serious turn when Donna realizes something might be wrong with Neal. Soon Donna finds herself investigating the murder of a friend, but she’s just an amateur sleuth. Will she discover the culprit before she becomes the next victim?

Donna is such a fun character. She’s smart, caring, and has a wonderful, wry sense of humor. While her mind is often filled with amusing thoughts concerning those around her, she laughs at herself just as much. She’s a little on the cynical side, but not truly bitter. This jelly must cheapest levitra amerikabulteni.com be consumed 15 minutes before copulation &the impact of such drug products longs for about 4-6 hours. Donna also strikes me as a bit of a control freak who does not handle the unknown very well. When Neal’s attractive neighbor, Sam, offers to help her investigate, she’s reluctant to accept his help. I laughed when she made a chart with one side labeled “Cute Sam” and one side “Scary Sam” that outlined the pros and cons of working with the man. Despite her reluctance, Donna and Sam have great chemistry and their sweet, flirty moments added a subtle, romantic touch to the story.

The secondary characters are not quite as rounded as I usually like, but they definitely frame Donna well and help move the plot along. Perhaps the most interesting secondary character is Donna’s cat, Soot. Soot’s battle with the Christmas tree had me laughing out loud.

Donna’s list of suspects is short, but I didn’t connect the dots until right before the murderer was revealed. All the pieces needed to solve the puzzle are present, and I was kicking myself for not picking up on a crucial clue earlier in the story. Once things click into place, the mystery is wrapped up quickly. Justice is served and there are no loose ends.

I thoroughly enjoyed Gold, Frankincense, and Murder. It is an all around fun mystery story with a dash of romance mixed in. Anyone looking for an entertaining cozy mystery with a touch of romance should certainly check this story out.
