Dakota Trace has created an enchanting world, inhabited by strong and powerful characters. Gracie is a delight-a strong and powerful witch who wants to be taken seriously. She truly believes she is not Rand’s true Chosen, because so much has been kept from her over the years. The supporting characters all play important roles in this as well. Gracie’s twin sister Patience, while having no magic, is a strong warrior in her own right. Jonathan, Gracie and Rand’s best friend, is a strong warrior, as well.
Watching these four learn what it takes to survive the takeover attempt, and watching Rand slowly discover what Gracie needs from him are both marvelously written. I loved that Gracie didn’t just sit back and accept her “fate” but made Rand work so very hard for her.
I recommend this to everyone who believes that love will find a way to win in the end, but who want the journey to be thrilling and even a bit dangerous before the happy ever after.
