Congratulations to Ms. Glenn for this wonderful additon to the Katzman series. If you have been waiting for Bogden and Anjali’s story, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. When I read the previous book, Dream Mate, I thought it could not get any better. Pride Mate has got everything I admired in the first two and more…in spades.

One of my favorite things about this series is that the mating bond is a sacred thing to the Katzman race. I love how each couple, once accepting that fate has brought them the perfect match for their soul, has become such a rock solid team. Commander Chellak Rai and Demyan’s happily ever after is continued from the first book in the series, affirming that their love is forever. This lasting bond makes the love scenes even more intense as their connection is strengthened. This story, like it’s predecessors, takes place in other worlds that are described in perfect detail. I loved that she created a completely different setting for this romance to develop. Like any other planet, there are so many different types of environments and cultures. In Pride Mate Ms. Glenn explores the desert, its people, and customs. I was extremely impressed by the obvious research that went into creating a believable and captivating story. She even went so far as to create a new language for this particular tribe of Katzman.

There are violent elements in this tale which are to be expected as it is about a warrior and his mate. This series also deals with issues that cannot possibly be approached outside of the fantasy realm, but will make you wish it could happen all the more. While this book can be read by itself, the experience would be more complete if the previous books were read first.

I have enjoyed reading this book many times and have eagerly recommended it to my friends. Bogden and Anjali have become one of my favorite m/m couples and I look forward to hearing more about them in the author’s next book. My favorite quote from this book is not in English, which testifies to Ms. Glenn’s versatility in writing: “Entya haby, entya hyety, entya a’lhabby…you are my love, you are my life, you are my heart.”
