What is Project Rainbow and is it really as sinister as it seems? That’s what I was asking myself as I read the prologue. Scott does a great job drawing you into this story.

The first chapter is set in 2007 and the heroine, Mia Fairbanks is working at the Blythe Skies Ranch hoping to find more information about her grandmother, Betty Bishop. She has a locket with her photo and also the photo of a man in a uniform…Jake Sands, perhaps?

It doesn’t take Mia very long to figure out that things aren’t what they appear at this ranch and one of the guests points to her and says ‘it’s Betty’. Mia suddenly finds herself back in 1943 and staying in her grandmother’s old room at the ranch. The author throws in a nice plot twist here. It seems that it’s not just any day in 1943 but the same day her grandmother was found murdered and Jake Sands is accused of the crime. I can’t give too much away because it would ruin this story for you but I will tell you there are some great plot twists and things you don’t see coming.

The author did a great job of fitting in a lot of plot and description into this short read. If you like time travel with a touch of mystery, a dash of suspense and not to mention a surprise ending, Out of Time is your book.
