Annabelle Lawson has it all: fame, fortune and a successful acting career to boot. But three years on from her break-up with the love of her life, she is still missing him. So in the middle of the night, she jumps on a plane and flies to the fair city of Dublin, determined to win him back.
Hotelier Liam O’Brien can’t believe the woman who ripped his heart to shreds three years ago is staying in his hotel. What’s worse is that old fires still rage between them, dredging up past hurt that Liam would rather forget. Deciding to take control, Liam gives Annabelle what she wants: sex. But there will be no strings and no emotions.
However, as Annabelle’s body invades his senses, he finds himself falling backward in time. He knows he needs to hold onto control but a very persistent Annabelle won’t let that happen. A power struggle soon erupts and one question arises: Can either of them win in this game of control? Or will they allow the past to consume the present, leaving them alone on the streets of Dublin City?
Self-absorbed actress seeks perfect costar in the role of life partner. Those only partially interested, need not apply. Annabelle Lawson stuns crowds on the red carpet and silver screen, but there’s one role she regrets not giving her all. Liam O’Brien simply wants to move on with his life–a life after Annabelle. Ms. Johnson’s plot is exciting and fresh. Her heroine realizes her shallow life doesn’t make her happy, so she sets out improve it. This reader identified with Annabelle’s determination and resolve. She progresses into the type of woman I could see as her close friend. Liam’s character comes across as a bit harsh, but that serves as his survival instinct and makes him more lovable. Many scenes in this book were HOT. I especially liked the tryst in the nightclub. I admired Annabelle’s adventurous nature; she didn’t care if she got caught as long as Liam found satisfaction.
