Darce is a mysterious character. We don’t learn much about him beyond his status as a vampire and loner, which intrigued me and left me longing to know more. The author has created a fascinating, dark world of vampires that drew me in and intrigued me from the beginning. However, the action of the plot progresses quite rapidly, at times feeling a bit rushed. And while I found the overall story interesting, the ending comes a bit too abruptly for my tastes. By the end of the story there were a few loose ends and it seemed that I had more questions than answers as I longed to know more about these fascinating characters and what would happen next. I assume that these questions will be answered in future books as it appears this is the start of a series, but I do wish a bit more background and information had been provided in this brief story.
Still, the fact remains: if you enjoy dark and passionate tales of vampires, then you may enjoy this one.
