A matchmaking grandma on a long-distance mission

Mistletoe temptation in every doorway

A sexy cowboy with a killer smile

When Gran Presely agrees to sell Creed Riley the Rockin’ C Ranch for a song at Christmastime, he can hardly believe his good fortune. There’s just one little catch-her tantalizing granddaughter Sage is part of the deal…

Paintings, canyons and a grandmother with plans of her own…it’s got to be a Carolyn Brown book!

There are cowboy books, then there are Carolyn Brown cowboy books. The writing flows so well and the descriptions are so rich, it’s like being there. I’ve never been to the canyons of the Midwest, but I’d sure like to go if they look the way Ms. Brown has described them. The characters are equally interesting. This book has more focus on Creed and Sage rather than the family, but that’s okay. I liked getting to know them without having so many other characters to keep track of. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to see the family dynamic, but also nice to take a breather, too.

There are a couple of slow spots in the book. The way Sage’s creative process is described is great, but might not be for all readers. Some might not want the level of detail, but it’s not a detraction. I loved how Grandma threw Sage and Creed together. As much as the “pushed together” trope has been used, in this case, this might have been the only way these two would’ve gotten together. It’s so good, too.

If you want a book with a little miscommunication, some arguing, emotional baggage, and hot loving, then this might be the book for you.

Bronte keeps a lookout for a rebound to help mend her broken heart, and when she meets Max Heyworth, she’s certain he’s the perfect transition man. But when she discovers he’s a duke, she has to decide if she wants to stay with him for the long haul and deal with the opportunities— and challenges— of becoming a royal.

Some secrets can make or break a relationship. After Bronte Talbott, an advertising executive, breaks up with her Texan boyfriend, she meets a new guy, a really great British guy, Max Heyworth. They have a wonderful time together, but he’s withholding pertinent information. When Bronte discovers his doozy of a secret, she sees him through different eyes.

They break up. The time without him is tortuous because she has real feelings for him. He adores her as well, back in England. The two make their way back together, thank goodness, but their troubles aren’t over. He’s a duke. And wants to make her a duchess. It seems like a great deal, right? Well, there’s more to it. Bronte is the independent type. She doesn’t want her life controlled. The conflict tears away at their relationship.

These are great characters, and their troubles are explored in a natural, entertaining way. Will those problems split them up permanently? Bronte goes to London and gets a taste of the royal lifestyle. She runs into her ex boyfriend on the street for an interesting encounter. She meets Max’s family, his siblings and overbearing, cold mother. Lots of little things chip away at Bronte’s confidence, but she does love Max. Can love overcome all else?

This love story has steamy love scenes, adventures abroad, quirky secondary characters, and emotional explorations in abundance. It’s an enjoyable tale that readers of contemporary romance, women’s fiction, and those who are interested in the lifestyle of the royals will probably appreciate.

‘Tis the Season for Scandal…

Years ago Lady Louisa Windham acted rashly on a dare from her brother, and that indiscretion is about to come to light. She knows her reputation will never survive exposure. Just as she’s nearly overwhelmed by her dilemma, Sir Joseph Carrington offers himself to her as a solution…

But Sir Joseph has secrets as well, and as he and Louisa become entangled with each other, their deceptions begin to close in on them both…

Just dealing with one’s fate creates loneliness and exhaustion in Lady Louisa Moreland’s experience.

Louisa loves her family and they love her, even though her genius baffles them all. But they put it to good use for themselves often, even if they don’t understand it. One indiscretion that grew out of this habit back when her brothers were in the university gives them all concern. It was done on a brother’s dare.

They set out to rectify it—not an easy task. This weaves a subtle tension and secrecy throughout the story.

Louisa wants to take herself out of the marriage market and leave an open field for her two younger sisters. She worries enough about her scandal hurting her family and she certainly would not want it to bring scandal to a husband. Her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Moreland have a loving marriage and want the same for their Louisa. She is precious to them. They are not above secret, well-meaning manipulation. In reality, they rather enjoy it. One can almost see the sparkle in their eyes.

Sir Joseph Carrington, the Moreland’s neighbor who is “only a knight” and calls himself a pig farmer is, in fact, a very wealthy man with many layers to his personality. He fought in the Peninsula Wars with two of the Moreland’s sons. He came home with a lame leg that gives him lots of pain, but he is still very happy to have his leg. His is grateful for ordinary things like a good bed, food, shelter—things he saw many people without during the war.

He does have some unique habits. For one, he reads poetry to “Lady Ophelia” his prize sow and talks to her about his problems especially about the need to find a suitable wife. He is a widower with two little girls. But he hates having to go “wife shopping” in London during the Season.

On a fox hunt that neither really wants to be a part of, Louisa and Joseph lag behind and talk. He says a “blood sport” is an oxymoron. He saw too much blood and killing during the war to see anything sporting about the letting of blood of any kind. She relates to his feelings and talks sensibly and un-self-consciously—not the usual in his experience.

Joseph see her quite differently than she sees herself. He sees a tall but dainty, dark-haired beauty who speaks her mind. Moreover she has no designs on him or his wealth. He appreciates her sassy mouth and he especially appreciates her “sassy bottom”. To him, she is out of his league as far as wife material is concerned, but she is a great friend and he will help her anyway he can.

Louisa enjoys his company. He is not the simpering, mincing type she sees often at social gatherings; nor is he like the many suitors who want her dowry and to gain a prestigious place in society by marrying a duke’s daughter. She knows he is not what one usually considers handsome, but he has a special appeal with his sanguine looks, heavy brow, and bold nose. His bravery she admires and his smile full of humor, warmth, and affection makes her feel good.

He champions Louisa when her brothers seem unable to do so. She learned to outmaneuver her brothers a long time ago. They have a hard time protecting her in a predatory society, so they enlist Joseph to help. He is her “knight in shining armor”.

The exquisite, openly honest love that grows gradually between them is memorable with tense conflict moments, humorous moments, and breathtaking lovemaking moments.

Grace Burrows weaves in many characters from the previous Moreland books. They are vibrant, intriguing, and just as captivating as ever. If one has read previous books in the series, it is like catching up with old acquaintances. The Duke and Duchess of Moreland are so true to character—still meddling, still in love, and still harassing each other just enough to keep things interesting between them. Louisa’s siblings and their spouses and her two younger sisters are woven into the story in delightful and meaningful ways.

Some of the male characters with less than admirable traits create havoc at times and keep everyone on edge. Mr Grattingly is truly an antagonist one loves to hate.

Grace Burrows creates amazing characters that capture and hold one’s attention. The reader is swept along with compelling events, sparking dialogue, humor, surprises, setbacks, and undercurrents of conflict and tension. Ms. Burrows’ subtle ways of character development add to the enjoyment of the story. One can almost see Louisa waltzing “as weightless as sunshine, fluid as laughter”.

Lady Louisa’s Christmas Knight transports the reader to another time, another place, and captivates with extraordinary characters. It sweeps the reader along never slacking it grip on one’s attention. Most of all, it sends the heart racing with love scenes that seem to stop time.

Like the other books in the Moreland series Lady Louisa’s Christmas Knight is a keeper.

GRYPHON—Honorable, loyal, dependable…tainted. He was the ultimate warrior before imprisonment in the Underworld changed him in ways he can’t ignore.

She calls to him. Come to me. You can’t resist. But Gryphon will not allow himself to be ruled by the insidious whispers in his head. And there’s only one way to stop them: kill Atalanta, the goddess who enslaved him. But with so much darkness inside, he can’t be sure what’s real anymore. Even the Eternal Guardians, those who protect the human realms and the gods, want to exile him.

Finding Malea is like a miracle. Somehow he doesn’t feel the pull of the dark when she’s near. And he’s determined to keep her as near as possible, whether she wants him close or not. But she’s a temptation that will test every bit of control he has left. One that may ultimately have the power to send him back to the Underworld…or free him from his chains for good.

There is nothing more tempting than a seductive voice calling to you at all times of the day. However, Gryphon will not be fooled by the voice in his head. He knows she has nothing to offer him except a slow and steady trip to crazy-ville. Therefore, he does the only thing he can to protect those he cares for: run away so he cannot hurt anyone but himself. Only he needs to help of the mysterious Malea who shares his darkness and may be the key to his freedom from not only the Colony but from the voice.

Gryphon was everything you could ask for in a warrior until his trip to the underworld changed him. He is only a shell of the man he use to be and that is just unacceptable. There is something inspiring about his actions of leaving his fellow warriors to try to protect them. I enjoyed the fact that he was trying to find his sanity and discovered his heart in the quest. I could tell that he was still a caring man deep under the frustration and aggravation, and I am glad that Malea was able to see it as well.

Malea was a character that grew on me. At first I didn’t really understand her. I didn’t have the luxury of reading the previous story, which would have probably provided me with more insight. Even without previous knowledge I can understand why Gryphon was so fixated on her. While she spent most of her life running you can see the strength in her decision. Forsaken by both her parents she has had no other options put to run most of her life. When she could have quit and given up she still tried to hardest to survive on her own and not involve others. The mystery surrounding her added intrigue to the story and made me want to learn more. Once I learned more about her I knew she would play an important role in not only this story but in the series.

The relationship development as well as the antagonistic conflicts really moved the story along at a steady pace. Malea and Gryphon had to deal with personal problems, a budding romance, and daemons, hellhounds and gods around every corner. There were many occasions when I told myself I would only read for five more minutes than the next thing I know another hour went by because I was so caught up in the story.

This is a series I can see myself enjoying for years to come, so I hope the author keeps the Eternal Guardians coming.

In The Wrong Place…

Roberta didn’t mean to hurt anyone. But the night the masked bandits raided her ranch, it was hard to tell friend from foe. She didn’t know Nate Dolan was only trying to help when she shot him in the chest. And when he offers to help her catch the culprits, she only feels guiltier. The absolute least she can do is nurse the rugged cowboy back to health…

With All The Right Moves

Nate has been on the vengeance trail so long, he nearly forgot what a real home looked like. And Roberta is mighty fine incentive to stay put for a while — even if she has a stubborn streak as wide as the great state of Texas. She might be convinced she’s healing the wound in his chest, but neither of them known she’s also soothing the hurt in his heart.

Out of nowhere, riders stormed onto the ranch and began running off stock and setting the barn aflame. Roberta’s father goes out to stop them and they taunt him and deliberately shoot him to death. She runs out to help when they ride away, but there’s no hope. When she hears a rider returning, she shoots him. Unfortunately he was not one of the raiders, he was her neighbor…

Nate has to stay at Roberta’s because of his injury and blood loss. Roberta is more than willing to take care of him because she shot him. I enjoyed the banter between them. They’re not friends nor are they enemies. When he tells her she’s beautiful, she thinks he’s crazy.

Mr. Greenwood makes his heroine a very strong young woman. She wants to sell the farm and move back to Virginia, her home. She begins to feel a conflict about that because Texas is becoming home. Her other conflict is that she has three men trying to marry her. That sets up the stage for the men to prance about and show off their testerone around her. It’s amusing to watch her deal with all the attention she’s getting from suitors.

This story includes grudges from the past and resentments in the present and is a well told tale. Mr. Greenwood keeps your interest and makes you care about his characters. I found this almost like a cozy western and I enjoyed it. If you haven’t read Mr. Greenwood’s books yet, you need to take a look.

He’s not so sure about small town life.

She can’t imagine living anywhere else.

Welcome to Apple Grove, Ohio (population 597), where everyone has your best interests at heart, even if they can’t agree on the best way to meddle. When the townsfolk of Apple Grove need handiwork done, there’s no job too small for the Mulcahy sisters: Megan, Caitlin, and Grace.

Specializing in hard work and family loyalty, tomboy Meg Mulcahy has left behind any girlhood reams of romance. Enter newcomer Daniel Eagan, looking to bury his own broken heart and make a new start. He’s surprised-and delighted-by the winsome girl with the mighty tool belt who shows up to fix his wiring.

But Dan’s got a lot to learn about life in a small town, and when Meg’s past collides with her future, it may take all 595 other residents of Apple Grove to keep this romance from short-circuiting.

Two words sum up this book for me and they are:  “fun read”. A Wedding in Apple Grove is peppered with not one or two great characters but every single one in this story is true to life and, yes, a few of them are little quirky, too. I really liked the two main characters and was rooting for Meg from the beginning. Daniel is also one I found myself liking a lot and hoping that he has the good sense to know Meg’s the best thing that ever happened to him.

What makes this story really appealing is its small town charm. Only 597 residents, and I couldn’t wait to get to know every single one of them. The author does a wonderful job with describing Apple Grove and the businesses and surroundings that make this small Ohio town what it is.

The plotting is fast and I found myself getting back to the book at any opportunity I could. Some of the dialogue made me laugh out loud which is always an added bonus. I hope that C.H Amirand continues writing about Apple Grove because I’ll be looking out for more tales about its delightful residents.

A Wedding in Apple Grove is definitely one you’ll want to put on your fall reading list.

A Scoundrel Drives a Hard Bargain…

Spirited and determined to protect her young brother at any cost, Lisette Lavigne is desperate to flee New Orleans. There’s only one ship sailing to England, though, and the rakish Captain Daniel Hillary will only allow Lisette’s family aboard for a very steep price…

But a Lady Always Gets the Upper Hand…

Daniel prides himself on running a tight ship, and he knows a lady will be nothing but trouble on a long voyage. Yet he can’t help but break his own ironclad rules when Lisette persuades him that being gentlemanly just this once is his wisest course of action…

Lisset Lavigne must have a guardian angel that fetches Captain Daniel Hillary again and again to save her from being ruined or worse. The reader has a unique vicarious experience as these two troubled characters struggle to come to terms with the twists and turns that life throws at them.

How the naïve but courageous Lisset and the arrogant, handsome but guilt-ridden Captain Daniel Hillary dance around each other after the deal for passage on his ship, the Cecily, entertains and gives the reader special insight into the personality of each of them. The undercurrent of impending danger is subtle and goes unheeded for a time.

Lisset is ingenious about the ways of the world. Her father has kept her sheltered, but now he’s dead and she must cope. When she overhears what her betrothed plans to do with her brilliant but different little brother Rafe, she vows to do whatever it takes to keep him safe.

She seeks the assistance of her father’s longtime friend and business associate Monsieur Baptiste and follows the advice of her older, more worldly-wise cousin Serafine that says the tea leaves indicate they must escape to England where they will survive and thrive. Serafine has a secret agenda but she also loves Lisset and Rafe. Lisset and Rafe leave behind their beautiful home and a sugar plantation and run.

Louis Reynaud, Lisset’s betrothed, considers her his property and also plans to own the property Rafe will inherit when he comes of age. He seems to have no redeeming qualities and is ruled by greed and desire for power—to be the giver of life or death at his pleasure.

As the plot and sub-plots unfold, the characters become more real. The humor and gradual revelation of the characters’ hope, fears, and thoughts keep the reader engaged. However, at times I felt I was on the outside looking in on the action. Also, all the major players, even to Serafine’s lost-lover, getting from America to England and their knowing their way around so well seems contrived at times. But the need to find out how a young Creole beauty and a wealthy Englishman manage to find common ground and their happy-ever-after kept me turning pages. A special bonus is learning about Rafe, his unique abilities, and how he is nurtured.

Miss Lavigne’s Little White Lie by Samantha Grace has a special kind of charm and a beautiful love story. It also lets the reader share in the redemption of Captain Daniel Hillary whose soul had been held hostage for too long.

She Has Hardly Any Choices Left…

With her clan on the wrong side of the struggle for the Scottish throne, heiress Daphne Macleod, once the toad of the court, is out of options…

And They’re All Dangerous…

Norris Sutherland once helped Daphne, but she walked away from him without a backward glance. Now she’s in deep trouble and needs him more than ever. But he may be lost forever…unless she can somehow convince him to forgive her.

Daphne MacLeod’s and Norris Sutherland’s reactions to each other may not be “sane” or “normal”, but they almost scorch the pages. Nothing is done in halfway measures. The heir to the Earldom of Sutherland and the orphaned, impoverished and disgraced daughter of a laird are not a likely match, but their “seeing-if-they-fit” makes spellbinding reading.

Her coping after her fall from privilege into poverty, her determination to do her “duty” to a clan that does not respect her, and her “I will endure” attitude puts her on a rocky road. Of course, she had already made a choice that kept a feud from erupting but had disgraced her. Norris Sutherland, that Daphne calls a marauder in civilized clothing, had been very happy to help her with that and then gone on his merry way—only now he can’t seem to forget the beautiful, intrepid woman whose passion flamed along with his.

During the fifteenth century, the harsh, unforgiving Highlands produced harsh, unforgiving feuding clans that seemed to believe the end justified the means. Their unwritten code of ethics or the lack thereof is blood-chilling. To find gentleness and love amid all the killing, cruelty and misery is like finding a bit of heaven on earth.

The way Morrell Comyn treats Daphne sends the temper raging. No human being should treat another the way he treats her. She does endure. But this reader zipped along the pages wanting to be sure this despicable character got his comeuppance. Even with the mores of the time less than charitable to women, his barbaric, savage actions horrify.

With a marriage for power and profit prized far above a marriage for love, true love had little hope of prevailing. While Daphne is settled at Dunrobin the Sutherland’s opulent castle, under the protection of Norris Sutherland and in his bed, she knows real fear when Sandra Fraser arrives with her brother Bari along with a big dowry. Sandra plans to marry Norris and even offers Daphne a deal. The conflict and vicious methods that ensue whip the story into frenzy. Sandra’s Machiavellian ways make one shudder.

The Trouble with Highlanders teems with intriguing secondary characters. Lytge Sutherland, Norris’s father is of the old school about marriage, but he has another agenda that adds a special bit of spice. MacNichols, Daphne’s jilted betrothed, and his wife, who is also his true love, play significant roles as the climax nears. Gahan, Norris’s half brother, is a powerful force in the workings of the Sutherlands. He and Saer, Daphne’s half brother, would be interesting characters to get to know more about. Their controlled savage nature seems ready to erupt at any time.

Mary Wine keeps the adrenaline pumping with sizzling love scenes, savage Highlanders who are quick to judge, a demanding, threatening priest, antagonists both male and female that all but breath fire as they pursue their own agendas uncaring of all else. The fast pace keeps the focus on the goal while the woven in history keeps one grounded in the time and place of events. Ms. Wine takes one’s emotions on a rollercoaster ride from the horrific to the heavenly. Her hero and heroine’s happy-ever-after is hard won and precious. It is magical as it should be for she is his fire fairy strong and true. He is her marauder lover—a magnificent Highlander, savage with a thin veneer of civilized but gentle and unabashedly in love with her.

He Never Misses A Target

Jake “the Snake” Sommers earned his SEAL code name by striking quickly and quietly-and with lethal force. That’s also how he broke Michelle Carter’s heart. It was the only way to keep her safe-from himself. Four long years later, Jake is determined to get a second chance. But to steal back into Michelle’s loving arms, Jake is going to have to prove he can take things slow. Real slow…

She Aims To Make Him Beg

Michelle Carter has never forgiven Jake for being so cliché as to “love her and leave her.” But when her brother, head of the Black Knights elite ops agency, ticks off the wrong mobster, she must do the unimaginable: place her life in Jake’s hands. No matter what they call him, this man is far from cold-blooded. And once he’s wrapped around her heat, he’ll never let her go…

A full-alert, high-voltage, fraught-with-danger, vicarious experience that is sprinkled with humor and super-charged with breathtaking love is in store for Rev It Up readers. Julie Ann Walker takes the reader into the world of Black Knights Inc.—a black ops organization that does whatever it takes to keep America safe and free without anybody knowing who they are. Some of these tough warriors’ language shocks at times, but it tells much about them and how it is part of the coping methods that keep them sane and alive.

Michelle (Shell) Carter, the Boss Frank Knight’s sister, is no pushover even though she does have a tender heart and a special talent for listening to and caring about others. She is especially protective of her three–year-old son Franklin (he is a darling—so comfortable in his own little skin). Her childhood had been full of insecurity and lack of love, but she was determined Franklin’s would not be that way even though she is a single parent.

When the gorgeous, tattooed, charming exSEAL, Jake “The Snake” reappears after a four year absence, Shell reinforces her defenses. She tells herself, shame on him for fooling me once, shame on me for letting him fool me twice, and NO way, Never, Not-a-chance will he get to fool me again. But fate seems to love a challenge.

Since Jake and fate have a unique connection—a love/hate sort of thing, the air is charged with almost-out-of-control emotions when Shell and Jake meet again. Their explosive relationship adds to the already on-edge situation at Black Knights Inc. Every operative has a fifty thousand dollar price on his or her head, courtesy of a Las Vegas illegal arms dealer Johnny Vitiglioni that has a vendetta against them. When Johnny learned the Black Knights boss had a sister, he deemed it his personal mission to get to her and make Frank Knight pay for what he had done. Adrenaline-pumping events transpire that make breath-holding reading.

With assassins crawling out of the woodwork, all hands are pressed into active duty. Rock, the Cajun, and Vanessa, the communications expert, end up on stakeout together in a “charge-by-the-hour motel. They liven up the story big time. Other secondary characters, each with his or her own specialty, have one thing in common, they know how to fight and kill when necessary—not a faint heart in the bunch.

Readers, who have read Hell On Wheels and In Rides Trouble,  will recognize many of the secondary characters and for those who haven’t, a special treat is in store. Each and every one of the characters has an air of mystery and unique personality that intrigues, right down to the ugly, overweight cat Peanut.

Julie Ann Walker creates a riveting story that assails the senses and churns of emotions. Her ability to make the reader feel the danger, the hurt, the love, and the “in-your-face” attitude, with bits of humor here and there is phenomenal. Rev It Up is a captivating story just like the first two books in this series. If ever two people deserved to find their happy-ever-after it is Shell and Jake—and, of course, that little sweetie Franklin. He is like icing on the cake.

With happy-ever-afters for three of these black ops guys to celebrate, I’m looking for Ms. Walker’s next book in this series to vicariously experience new adventures with Black Knights Inc. as some of the other guys find their soul mates. I’m thinking Rock and Vanessa may find that special connection soon and maybe even Billy and Eve. Of course, I do hope Ozzie, the computer whiz, and Angel, the ex Mossad agent, both have that special someone out there just waiting until the time is right to appear.

As a jaguar he is graceful and gorgeous…

Speedy and stealthy…

Fierce, independent, and wild…

As a man he is passionate and powerful…

Willful and wonderful…

And he’ll stop at nothing to protect what’s his…

Savage Hunger is as steamy a story as the humidity of the jungle it takes place in and is just as dangerous. Take a good look at the wonderful and vibrant cover. See the woman peeking over the shoulder of the hot hunk? That is none other than Kathleen, the heroine, and I have to give the artist credit. Kat has this really saucy and cheeky wit that pops out with a mischievous twinkle in her eye and the artist captured her at a moment of devilish plotting. Poor Connor doesn’t stand a chance.

Ms. Spear cracked me up with what she gave the heroine as her little problem. It placed Kat in quite a few prickly situations that always led to exciting scenes that I couldn’t step away from. Time to eat? “Let it cool down, I’m at a good part.” That’s pretty much how my whole experience was in reading Savage Hunger. Every time I thought things were going to smooth out or they’d have a moment of reprieve, something seemed to happen that compelled me to keep turning the pages. The adventure of discovery, of outwitting the bad guys and staying one step ahead of certain torture and death insured that there wasn’t a dull moment in any of the chapters. Certainly, I didn’t want to stop reading until I got to the final wrap-up and happy ever after.

In addition to Kat’s embarrassing difficulty is the new predicament she finds herself which leads her to experience eating raw fish with its subsequent stinky breath, and stripping at very inconvenient moments. It’s going to take a special kind of guy to guard her when these quirks take place and there’s no better hero than Connor to get the job done.

I enjoyed reading the story in Connor’s point of view. I liked it when he took it in stride when Maya, his sister, and Kat ganged up on him. I loved how protective he was of both women, yet he respected their strengths. His love for his sister came through strongly in the writing. His growing love and wonder over finding as wonderful a mate as Kat was great to read. His sense of honor almost cost him having Kat in his life, but as much as he loved his sister, she loved him just as much and proved it, providing an opportunity for Connor and Kat to bond. It was hit or miss in the beginning and caused its own level of drama and suspense, but the journey was worth it.

A heightened level of drama came from the bad guys. One evil drug lord pulled the strings and he was persistent, deadly and vicious. Every time I thought the trio would finally make headway in getting to safety, someone somewhere would say something that gave the criminals a lead. It drove me nuts but it also allowed the lead characters to show off all that they could do and would do in the name of survival. It didn’t hurt that Ms. Spear threw in an effective hook for another jaguar story. The stalker turned out to be who I thought it was but I’m really hoping that he will indeed turn out to be a good guy and I know just the person who’d be good for him. It didn’t help matters any that Kat’s ex mentioned something that made me think otherwise, but I refuse to be deterred. I think he’d make a great addition to the jaguar family.

Speaking of Kat’s ex-fiancé, he’s a worm. Enough said.

What is awesome to mention is the waterfall scene. Why that water didn’t evaporate from the scorching heat generated between Connor and Kat, I have no idea. It was seductive, effective and a delicious bit of writing. That was my favorite but the author gave the hero and heroine plenty of opportunities to explore, delight and please the other with an intensity that might make a reader or two blush. I had fun.

Some readers might take exception to Kat’s seemingly easy acceptance to her new station in life. Not me. I found it refreshing to not have to deal with drama queen antics on top of life and death situations. What was done was done and Kat, being the practical military woman she is, assessed the benefits versus cons and concluded she was getting everything she ever wanted plus benefits. She just had to survive first to enjoy them.

The happy ever after was satisfying. The author touched base on a lot of little subjects that appeared throughout the story and tied the loose ends up with a huggable ending. Now the only thing left is to read the next book in the series to find out if Maya is going to meet who I think she might meet. I am eagerly looking forward to the next jaguar adventure.

Savage Hunger leaves a reader hungering for more of this awesome and exciting new world that Ms. Spear has created. The author has written a story with a lovable heroine, an alpha hero who’s not obnoxious or overbearing, and a fun sister to tag along and complicate Connor’s life. The food they eat is exotic although the eating establishments are earthy, and they spend more time using trees than Tarzan. This new series is exhilarating and filled with rich and vibrant descriptions to make a reader feel like they’re in the thick of the Amazon jungle. There are moments of humor, of tenderness and pure hot loving. In short, Savage Hunger has the best of all the elements that make readers of paranormal romances happy.
