The V Card. Virgin. Most of us want to punch that sucker ASAP, and hide the fact until then, but not Cassie Hale. Three years ago she frickin’ covered hers in glitter and laminated the thing, proudly telling me that she’s waiting for the perfect guy.

So when I see her half naked, tangled together, rolling around on the floor with another stripper, I’m kind of shocked. Okay, that’s an understatement. I’m enthralled. I have to know what cracked her picture perfect world and landed her here, and I hope it’s something horrible-an event that broke her the way she broke me. Because, that’s who Cassie Hale is–the woman who stole my heart and crushed it in her hand.

YUM! Those Ferro brothers are definitely worth the trouble. In Stripped, we have Jon, the last of the brothers trying to hang on to his inheritance. Jon is very progressive in his thinking of how he would like to use his fortune. One caveat, he has a reputation as a player (with cause) and his mother still keeps a sharp eye on him. As long as she feels he is not hurting the Ferro legacy or the Ferro reputation, he can do as he pleases. Unfortunately, Jon has a knack for getting in trouble or trouble just finds him.

Enter Cassie Hale into his life – nothing will ever be the same. Cassie is young, innocent and still a virgin when they first meet. She is a strong female character. She has set her goals in life and you cannot but hope she will achieve them. I love how she respects herself and sets boundaries that Jon must respect.

The story later picks up these characters three years after they first meet. Circumstances are very different now for both Cassie and Jon. Cassie is hiding and working as a stripper to elude her deadbeat husband. She has been forced to this type of work and is doing the best she can with it.

Once Jon is back in Cassie’s life, nothing will be the same. I love how the author presents Jon’s character with a conscience but a streak of recklessness.

As with other H. M. Ward’s novels, this is a page-turner. This is book #1 of the Stripped series. I am anxiously awaiting book #2.
