If you like a lot of drama with your romance, Dream Keeper is the one for you. I love everything Kristen Ashley writes, she is one of my favorite authors. She knows how to write a story with a hot alpha hero paired with a feisty woman, add in entertaining characters and suspense and that is the perfect recipe for me.

This is the fourth book in Kristen Ashley Dream Keeper series and this one is about Auggie and Pepper. These two have tons of chemistry and their story held me spellbound. They are perfect for each other, but it takes Pepper a while to take a chance on Auggie. Auggie stole my heart, right along with Pepper’s. He is the perfect boyfriend, and he never gives up trying to persuade Pepper how good they can be together.

There is so much Auggie and Pepper have to deal with in this story they barely have time to be together. The whole time I was rooting for them to get everything straightened out so they could live happily ever after. Auggie and Pepper are lucky to have a group of friends to help them whenever it is needed. Their friends are interesting and colorful characters and many of them are from KA’s other books. I enjoyed the fun filled romantic ride filled with quirky characters, emotion and intense moments.

Night time is the right time…

Gwendolyn Kidd has met the man of her dreams. He’s hot, he’s sexy, and what started as a no-names-exchanged night of passion has blossomed into a year and a half-long pleasure fest. Sure, it’s a little strange that he only appears in her bed at night, but Gwen is so sure he’s the one, she just can’t turn him away…

Hawk Delgado knows more about Gwen than she could ever imagine. She’s gorgeous, headstrong, and skittish about relationships. But Hawk is facing his own demons, demons that keep him from connecting with anyone. Yet when Gwen is drawn into Denver’s lethal underground scene, Hawk’s protective nature comes out full force. The problem is, when Gwen gets a dose of Hawk’s Alpha attitude in the daylight, she’s not so sure he’s the one anymore.

If you have never read a Kristen Ashley book, Mystery Man is the perfect book to start with. This is one of my favorite KA books and I have read it over and over again. Cabe is a hot alpha male and Gwendolyn is a feisty, sweet heroine. Along with a perfect hero and heroine there are a wonderful cast of entertaining secondary characters.

What keeps bringing me back to this book is Cabe (Hawk) Delgado. He owns a security company and he and the commandos he employs, help keep the Denver streets safe. Cabe is a good guy with a white hat but he doesn’t always obey the laws to get results; he isn’t hampered by rules and laws like the police.

The love story between Cabe and Gwen is magnificent. They both have baggage from their past and are afraid to let go and love again. However, they just can’t seem to stop seeing each other, even though it scares the heck out of them.

This story has bad guys after Gwen and Cabe insists he is the only one who should keep her safe. Along the way, there are so many interesting characters included in this story it’s hard to pick my favorite. Although Elvira is at the top of my list; she is hilarious and had me laughing out loud so many times. This is romance at its best and includes hot alpha heroes, bad guys, suspense and many colorful characters.

Hattie Yates has finally met the man of her dreams. Yet years of abuse from her demanding father have left her petrified of disappointment. She’s already failed to reach her goal of becoming a professional ballerina—she can’t handle the terrible consequences of another dream becoming a nightmare. But when a stalker sets their sights on Hattie, there’s only one man she dares to hope can help . . .

Axl Pantera knows Hattie is the only woman for him. Yet despite the attraction burning between them, Hattie refuses to let him in. The former soldier is determined to woo her into letting down her walls. And when danger comes calling, he’s up against more than her wary and bruised heart. Axl will do anything to prove to Hattie that they’re meant to be, but first, he’ll need to keep her safe.

Kristen Ashley is one of my favorite authors, so I was really excited to read her newest book, Dream Spinner. This is the third book in The Dream Team series and this one is about Axl and Hattie. It is an enchanting, fast paced story with some suspense added to the mix. As always, KA includes a cast of colorful secondary characters, which is what makes this story and everything she writes so much fun and interesting.

This is an upbeat and intoxicating story about Axl and Hattie and it is wonderful to have a ringside seat as they fall in love. Axl and Hattie are perfect for each other; they have explosive chemistry and a passionate relationship as they help each other deal with their troublesome fathers, Hattie’s stalker and some dirty cops.

Hattie is a dancer at Smithies. She is shy and caring, but has very little confidence because her father is always putting her down. When Axl asks Hattie for a date, she turns him down, even though she likes him, because she is afraid to say yes.

Axl is a commando who works for Hawke. Anyone who works for Hawke is tough and willing to do all the things the police can’t or won’t do. The commandos aren’t afraid to cross any boundaries, they get the job done, whatever it takes, legally or illegally. Axl is protective by nature and when he finds out Hattie is receiving threats, he wants to be the one keeping her safe. He cares about Hattie, but she is vulnerable and stubborn and afraid to open her heart.

I enjoyed all the encounters between Axl and Hattie and I also enjoyed all of Hattie’s amusing girlfriends. When they get together they are a hoot. They are a tight knit group and just what Hattie needs in her life.

This is a delightful story filled with romance, intrigue and a whole cast of entertaining characters. Although, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed there wasn’t an epilogue because KA’s epilogues are epic and my favorite part of the book. That said, I still loved this exhilarating, rollicking story and I’m sure you will too.

Elliot’s new mission: gain Fia’s trust…and convince her that summer’s end can mean a new beginning.

I’ve just finished reading a highly enjoyable story that has summer theme to it.

I’m a fan of the author so I guess that does make me a tad biased about her stories but I can assure you, fan or not, I think you’ll fall in love with the two main characters, Fia and Elliot. What I always love about Ms. Pappano’s books is she has the uncanny knack of pairing up people who would actually make ideal lifelong partners in real life.

Fia and Elliot are well drawn characters who you immediately fall in love with. And yes, the story starts with Elliot and we learn he’s even rescued a dog! They’re not perfect people but that’s what adds to their appeal. They both have a history and sometimes that gets in their way of realizing they’re one another’s soulmates.

This is a story that has some tears, some laughter, and you find yourself turning the pages to get to their happily ever after because you feel they so deserve it.

Even the secondary characters are lovable too. While I haven’t read any other books in the Tallgrass series, it’s made me what to go check them out.

If you love an old fashioned romance, break out the lounger, grab your sunscreen and head outside to read this book. You won’t be disappointed.

It’s beginning to look a lot like love . . .

As her thirtieth birthday approaches, deputy Jill Flaherty decides it’s time to live a little. When she walks into Sawyer Anderson’s bar in her sexiest dress, she’s not thinking that he’s her brother’s best friend or about the many women he dated during his years as a pro hockey player. All she’s thinking is that it’s finally time to confess to her longtime crush how she truly feels.

Yet no one in the small town of Christmas seems to believe he’s ready to settle down, not Jill, and certainly not Jack, who is determined to keep Sawyer from breaking his little sister’s heart. But as Sawyer and Jill’s relationship heats up, can he prove that he’s her happy ever after?

Looking for a heartwarming romance? A story that engages all your senses and makes you feel like you are there? A love story about a man who can’t resist the attraction of his best friend’s ‘not so baby’ baby sister’? A heroine who is strong in many ways but vulnerable when it comes to her heart? All this and more is in store for readers in the wonderful novel that is Happy Ever After in Christmas.

Jill is a sheriff’s deputy and she’s quite good at her job. A reader learns just how good she is during one of the books exciting plot climaxes. Before that though, readers are treated to a woman with hopes, dreams, insecurities and an untapped passion. The only person that comes close to breaching her heart’s protections is the hero, Sawyer. He’s an addiction she just can’t resist. I give her credit, she surely gives it the ol’ college try.

Sawyer has some huge hurdles to overcome to reach his happy ever after with the woman he comes to love, Jill. Some will tug on a reader’s heartstrings to the point that putting the book down isn’t an option. There is so much emotion being tapped that it’s hard for guy to know what to do. Thing is, Sawyer shows his love in a hundred different ways, he’s creative, dogged and earnest. When he wants something, he goes after it. But what happens when what he does isn’t working? Poor guy is put through the wringer, not the least of which is being the target of an angry villain.

Secondary characters abound to help the two lovebirds find their way. I guess this book is the culmination of a series but I never read the others, and yet, I never felt lost or that I was missing out on key elements. This novel is about Jill and Sawyer; the things that draw them apart and the things that bring them together, the joys of dating and the pain of parting and loss. It’s the sweet and simple way they come together again that embodies the best of what romance has to offer readers. Falling in love makes more than two people happy, it brings joy to all who love them as well. Happy Ever After in Christmas is a true delight of the heart. There’s so many things that I can share in this review but my words can’t do them justice.

The chemistry between Jill and Sawyer is very sensual and passionate. The spice is gentle yet powerful and very well written.

Happy Ever After in Christmas is a story not to be missed. Fans of the series should be plenty pleased if this final book is any indication of the stories before. New readers will find so much to like, it wouldn’t surprise me if they checked out Ms. Mason’s back list just to meet some of the other characters who helped on Jill and Sawyer in this novel. This is a wonderful read and an easy recommend.

But when sparks fly between them, their passion quickly moves from the boardroom to the bedroom. And soon Merina is living her worst nightmare: falling in love with her husband . . .

If readers enjoy the marriage of convenience theme then this is the romance for you. I like the fact that Merina and Reese were actually very well matched. Perceptions, assumptions, laser focused goals and passionate explosions of dialogue were effective walls between the two, but it was the passionate speech with the door knob that set the stage for knocking down all those walls. What follows allows readers and each protagonist to get to know one another. The results, though shocking, disconcerting and surprisingly sexy to Merina and Reese, were pure entertainment for me. The Billionaire Bachelor is a fun spin on a well-loved theme.

This novel is quite the see-saw. Reese is broken, Merina isn’t, sort of. Then Merina gets really broken and Reese has to step up and take the scariest risk of his life. How it all comes about, from learning what broke the hero, to what makes a confident Merina into a woman uncertain of her womanhood, to forging a bond that takes both hero and heroine by surprise and actually makes them better people, is why this story is so compelling. I didn’t find any slow paced scenes in the book; the author kept this character driven romance rolling right along. Reese is complicated, with pride and shame coloring his stubbornness. Merina is loving, mostly open and the first one willing to take a chance on making this marriage deception into something real and forever. As with any good romance, the conflict makes that a bum decision, at first. I like how the author resolved it.

I enjoyed meeting the secondary characters that populated the novel in support of Reese and Merina. I found that Reese’s dad and brother were more developed as characters than Merina’s parents or her best friend. I have an idea that it was a planned decision since Tag’s character, Reese’s brother, seems like a likely potential hero. Who is going to make this seemingly happy go lucky man turn serious about love? That’s a good question I hope someday to see answered. I just have to wait for what will seem like forever for the next book. And, I found Penelope to be quite the dragon, even though well intentioned and doing what she was hired to do. I would love to see her as a main character someday. She’d be fun to fluster because in this book she seemed much too perfect at her job.

Another reason that I enjoyed the novel was because of Merina. I loved the way she was written regarding her openness and joy of life. She knew that she could get hurt along the way, but her nature would not allow her to shy away from grabbing every moment of bliss that she found in Reese’s arms. The way she melted for him was so romantic. And the tie thing she had going on? How the author used Merina’s fascination with Reese’s ties was incredibly sultry and sexy. Of all the imagery the author used, those scenes were some of the best.

Ms. Lemmon’s The Billionaire Bachelor is not only entertaining but well written. There’s a lot of emotion, heart, love and optimism written into its pages so when the happy ever after finally came about it was satisfying and left me feeling quite cheerful. When a book leaves me in an upbeat mood in the end, for sure I’ll be recommending it to other romance readers. After all, one can never get too much of the ‘happy’ in a happy ever after.

Kate Benton is stunned. Who is this arrogant, infuriating man who’s invited himself into her home and taken over her life? Her vow: to do everything in her power to convince him to leave her—and Brambly House—alone. Yet as chilly days melt into sultry nights, Kate sees glimpses of kindness underneath Edward’s cool façade . . . and a passionate nature that takes her breath away. There’s so much she doesn’t know about this man. But does she dare trust this devilish duke with her heart?

I really liked meeting Kate and Edward. The start of their relationship was highly unconventional and unique and because of that the book was hard to put down. How can the actions of revenge turn into the catalyst for romance and a happy ever after? Dukes are Forever answers that by telling a tale that ends with a wonderful resolution. This is pure romance.

This is the first book in what appears to be a trilogy. It’s about three men who served in war together and their friendship was born and solidified on the battlefield. Their war is over and they are back in polite society where Edward, the hero in this book, and Grey and Thomas need to find their place in the ton.

Edward is now the Duke of Strathmore but he’s not happy about it. His life isn’t turning out to be the way he wanted so this story is about finding the one thing he was missing in his life and he hopes to embrace it. Not in his wildest dreams could he imagine how it would come about. The conflict comes from bringing a doll to his new ward only to find out that his ward is a lot older than he was led to believe. Kate is her name and healing is her calling. She’s feisty, opinionated, and independent and as far from a typical society miss as one can get. It’s Kate’s unusualness that sparks life into Edward’s cold heart and makes him engage in life again. The sparks fly, passions are stirred and there are plenty of reasons for a reader to not want to put the book down. The storytelling is strong and the dialogue is brisk and peppery, but it’s funny at times too.

What isn’t funny is the darkness that focuses on Kate. What she doesn’t know is that the person she should be able to trust most in her life ends up being quite the opposite. I had no idea it would go so far so I felt really bad for the heroine. For so long she had hope, she strived to be what expected of her and demanded little, all in the vain hope that someday things would be better. Edward is the only light in her life and a reader will be able to see that all too clearly.

When Kate and Edward to explore the physical side of their growing love and attachment, it’s sensual, sexy and sometimes fun. The scenes were written effectively and I enjoyed their banter and how well they played off of each other. It took Edward a while to come to terms with his feelings but once he does, like his military career, he’s focused on an objective, and in Dukes are Forever Kate is the prize.

I also liked the secondary characters, Edward’s brothers in arms, Thomas and Grey. Since they are going to have their own stories eventually, the author did a wonderful job of fleshing them out, making them interesting and creating an effective hook for readers to want more. I know I certainly do. I really enjoyed Ms. Harrington’s Dukes are Forever. This was a great romance and I can’t wait for Grey’s story!

THE WICKEDEST SECRET . . .

Major Nathaniel Grey is free to bed whomever he wants, whenever he chooses, and that’s exactly how he likes it. His only loyalties are to country and the two friends he served with-brothers he’d do anything for. So when one of them is gravely injured and asking for his little sister, Grey will move heaven and earth to bring her home. He’s greeted not by the gangly girl he remembers, but a stunningly beautiful woman holding a loaded musket. And he’s utterly captivated by her . . .

Once upon a time, Emily would have loved nothing more than a stolen hour with her brother’s best friend, the dashing officer who captured her heart and soul. But things are different now-and so is she. Gone is the eager young woman who believed in love. In her place is a widow weighed down with secrets who desperately needs to disappear before they’re revealed. But Grey’s sinfully sexy smile offers protection unlike anything she’s ever known, tempting her to risk everything . . . even her heart.

This is a great standalone read with plenty of interesting characters, thwarted lovers and a mysterious stalker threatening the romance and the future of a baby. There’s a lot of scintillating dialogue and compromising positions to keep the pages flipping. There is tormented angst too. Along Came a Rogue is the second book based on the friendship of three men forged in war and now they must find their way in polite society. They are exceptional men, and the women who love them are just as fascinating.

The book begins in a naughty manner and depicts the hero as a shallow, callous rake whose only concern is himself. That initial perception is tossed out the window once a reader gets to meet and join Nathaniel Grey on his journey to love, and the truth. However, his way with women benefits the object of his adoring obsession, Emily. Some of those scenes were delightfully wicked.

Emily has loved Grey even as a young girl but it was thought to be that of an innocent miss and was written off as an infatuation. A reader finds proof that it was so much more and yet there are so many obstacles in her path on realizing her love for Grey as the woman she has become that it’s a bit daunting. Emily has some nasty surprises visited upon her during the course of the novel but she never comes across as a weak victim. I liked her strength, her daring and her love for her brother, Thomas. She does tend to play into the martyr syndrome a bit too much for my liking but I was happy the way the author eventually handled it.

As far as the villainous aspect in the story, the author threw out some cryptic comments, a look or two at the right time and added in the puzzled interpretation by the heroine and that’s all it took for me to figure out who were the bad elements in the tale. I felt bad at one point when it was revealed as to the reason for a couple of the actions but once I realized just how damaging they could have been, all bets were off. Justice was correctly served – with relish.

Along Came a Rogue is exactly what historical romance fans look for. A lady who has to stand tall at a time when women where restricted by decorum and in doing so, grew in personal conviction, bravery and fortitude; a man who respected the woman Emily grew up to be and was willing to stand by her even when she sent him away; and a wonderful physical and emotional chemistry between the two that eventually leads to a happy ever after that satisfies on every level. Now the only man of the initial trio left unattached is Thomas. Since introduced to Edward, Grey and Thomas in the first book, Dukes are Forever, I have been hooked. And Along Came a Rogue has only whetted my appetite for more. It’s a fun and romantic series so far and I can’t wait for what comes next.

Cara is probably the most kind hearted woman I have ever read about. What immediately attracted me to the story was her love for animals and dogs particularly, as I am the same way. I had not realized she would be so compassionate, while putting her own life aside. She truly is a remarkable women and very enduring as a character.

Matt is everything you want in a man. He is kind, caring, strong, and a protector of those he loves. He is absolutely adorable both inside and outside. He too has a code of honor just like Cara that is unwaivering. Even when a bit misguided he is doing what he thinks is honorable. He even puts himself out just to try to take care of Cara because he does not want any harm to come to her. This is a couple you will root for from beginning to end.

Cara’s history is not a perfect one, but that along with the case Matt is working play a vital role in the plot of the story. She keeps herself guarded from people, and instead throws herself into rescuing animals. Matt is always looking to find justice for those who have been wronged, no matter the consequences. These facts really help to push these two together in a remarkable way. Now they both just need to open up to one another and realize what they need most in the world is right under each other’s nose.

The romantic development was definitely more important that the physical connection in this story. I appreciated that you could feel the chemistry leaping off the pages without it being overly erotic. It was the simple things that made me realize how much they grew to care for one another. I have always felt that it is the little things that matter in a relationship and these two just prove my theory. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance novel. I for one plan on starting the second installment to this series right now.
