Sydney Somers has created an amazing cast of preternatural characters and placed them in a world where paranormal creatures of all kinds exist alongside mortals. The premise and consequent conflict, while amazing, is second only to the perceived environment. It’s both sultry and dangerous, and that’s my brand of excitement.
The protagonists, Kennedy and Tristan, captivate the reader from the moment they arrive on page. Their relationship is like a horse race that grips your heart as soon as those starting gates open and the buzzer sounds, and doesn’t let up until you see who crosses the finish line. I loved the interplay between them, especially when Tristan’s cat comes out to play. The supporting cast is equally good, especially the fae Dolan and Tristan’s sister, Briana. I couldn’t help but think about future installments that might share their stories and take us, once again, into this lush and intriguing world.
As for the writing–there is nothing to complain about here! The material is tightly written, the dialogue is wonderful, and the plot will keep you guessing. And if that’s not enough, those searing portions of super hot sex in between will ensure you’ll be satisfied.
Primal Hunger is something paranormal junkies will rave about. I highly recommend it.
