Orlando’s broken memory may break his lover’s heart.

Cambridge Fellows Mysteries, Book 3

Cambridge, 1906.

On the very day Jonty Stewart proposes that he and Orlando Coppersmith move in together, Fate trips them up. Rather, it trips Orlando, sending him down a flight of stairs and leaving him with an injury that erases his memory. Instead of taking the next step in their relationship, they’re back to square one. It’s bad enough that Orlando doesn’t remember being intimate with Jonty—he doesn’t remember Jonty at all.

Back inside the introverted, sexually innocent shell he inhabited before he met Jonty, Orlando is faced with two puzzles. Not only does he need to recover the lost pieces of his past, he’s also been tasked by the Master to solve a four-hundred-year-old murder before the end of term. The college’s reputation is riding on it.

Crushed that his lover doesn’t remember him, Jonty puts aside his grief to help decode old documents for clues to the murder. But a greater mystery remains—one involving the human heart.

To solve it, Orlando must hear the truth about himself—even if it means he may not fall in love with Jonty the second time around…

Just when Jonty and Orlando are trying to move forward in their relationship, an unexpected bump may change things completely. Orlando has an unfortunate accident which leads to losing any memory of the past year, including his friendship and relationship with Jonty. Although saddened by the loss of their shared past, Jonty attempts to seduce Orlando once again while the two work on an old mystery. The disappearance of an influential heir four hundred years before has turned into local lore at the college and the two amateur sleuths have been asked to find the real answers. Jonty and Orlando must work together to solve this new mystery while reconnecting their friendship if there is any hope for romance to blossom once again.

This third offering in the series can be read alone but to really understand the characters and their progression, it’s best to read the books in order from the start. Here the character of Orlando takes a potential step backward when he loses his memory but the development he’s taken in the past year (and two books) is not entirely lost. His new attitude and boldness in certain situations continues to shine as does his newfound trust in himself. He believes in his instincts more and this helps to not turn the man entirely back into the fearful, uptight man he was when he first met Jonty. Point that should be kept in mind before and after taking this drug- While taking Cenforce or discount viagra sildenafil, the sexual arouse is mandatory. For males who undergo cancer surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine said on the use of vacuum https://energyhealingforeveryone.com/disclaimer.html order cheap levitra device. The main component of semen is prostatic fluid, and the spermatozoa discharged from testis and epididymis must depend on the cialis cheap no prescription nutrition and transportation of seminal plasma (prostatic fluid included) to combine with eggs. The supplements have fewer unwanted effects and they are much safer, having absolutely zero side effects, unlike prescription medications like discount viagra . Instead the story becomes a charming tale as Orlando falls in love with Jonty all over again but with less hesitation and fewer fears. Although this may be reminiscent of the first book for a few readers, the journey of their relationship continues to be satisfying, sweet, and touching so I doubt many will begrudge their re-awakening.

The mystery portion is rather light and somewhat disconnected. The clues that give the final resolution are all within coded letters and the majority of the action is the various characters decoding the letters and discussing possibilities. Since these clues are available only to the characters in the book and not the reader, this had the effect of always reminding me that I was reading a book rather than participating in an experience. However, the continued quick pace and lack of slow areas in this particular book has this third book being my favorite of the series so far. The mystery is interesting and kept very light so the focus is on the characters and their relationship. The added delight of Miss Peters is a wonderful addition to the cast and she almost steals the scenes.

Once again the author has delivered a stunningly beautiful portrait of the setting in early 1920’s. The historical accuracy is incredibly well done and never sacrifices that authenticity to make the relationship easier or more romantic. The deft writing shows an intense romance and heartfelt emotion without needing to ignore the social dictates of that time period. Romance fans who especially love historical settings should adore this series and will definitely want to continue. This book has hooked me and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for such great characters and truly talented writing.
