Though, these examples are not from KoD, they are general mistakes I’ve made notes of over the last few ebooks I’ve read. Unfortunately I can’t put KoD on the “faultless editing” pile. In this case mistakes are few and far between, but they are there nevertheless and distracting to this reader.

In the second place, there were instances in which scenes just didn’t ring true. These were minor asides, nothing essential to the story, and easily ignored as the reader enjoyed the story enough to be willing to forgive small mistakes. The fact remains these small flaws are there, and were part of the little breeze that pushed the arrow from its path to the bullseye.

Still, despite these problems I have to say: All in all, Ms Aaron, well done. You did a very good job with this story.

For me, the various complications that JT and Dan run into as they work together slowed down the story rather than moving it forward by changing the pace and taking me out of the story for moment. But in the end this is an intriguing story with an ending that may surprise you.

This was a good read filled with a few twists and wonderful characters. I especially loved the character of Allen. A single father, Allen has longed for a companion and partner since his wife died. While he didn’t initially set out to deceive her, he still worries about hurting her and what will happen once she discovers the truth. I couldn’t help but root for him as the story progressed and found myself falling for him as Cheri did.

Cheri is also an interesting character and more is revealed about her and her past with each page, but there is quite a bit of mystery surrounding her. She is haunted by her past and she lets that influence a lot of her actions and beliefs, but that is not immediately clear to the reader so I was a bit confused by some of her behavior. But her relationship with Allen came across as real and believable and the two definitely share a chemistry and passion that is obvious.

While I did like the book, I do feel the last part of the story was a bit rushed, but it didn’t take away from my pleasure of reading the story. From the interesting psychic encounter at the beginning to the touching final scene, overall this was a very enjoyable book.

But together they are able to persevere and protect and care for one another. Derek is incorrigible and I enjoyed watching as he made Claire blush. The banter between the two was very enjoyable.

Another fascinating character is Kate, the ghost that haunts and assists Claire as she works to solve the mystery of the serial killer. I was intrigued by Kate and would love to learn more about her and her life before she became a ghost.

Mating Claire is the start to what promises to be an intriguing series.

Tolynn also feels an attraction to the lovely demigoddess, but is it possible that the Guardians have chosen two mates for Aithne? As Aithne struggles with her attraction for the two men, she must also worry about the curse that shadows her every move.

This was a fascinating story and a bit different from what I expected, but I really enjoyed it. Aithne is conflicted over her feelings for both men. Once she accompanies them to their homeland, she struggles with her decision between the two and also faces threats to her safety. Tolynn and Dustin also struggle as they face jealousy over sharing Aithne. I felt for these characters as they dealt with the complications that arose from their attraction.

The unexpected ending of the story was an interesting surprise that I didn’t see coming, but it was handled nicely. I enjoyed this story and I look forward to learning about Aithne’s sisters as they deal with the curse that haunts them.

Cassie Teller loves her husband Corby but is having a hard time living with him. I start to feel sorry for her when she is ignored by Corby. I knew in my heart that Cassie would go back to her true friend Steve. What happened next was a series of events that I could not predict. It is creative writing at its best.

And did I mention scorching hot love scenes? The computer screen began to glow red from all the heat being generated by the words on the page. Wow.

All I can say is I loved this second book in the Sports Wives Series and recommend reading it instead of watching a game or soap on the television.
