Personal trainer for the ever popular, Lose it! reality show, Jillie Maxwell is up for the most important award of her career. And she’s competing against the biggest b-eye-itch she’s ever met. Fortunately for her, she has the sexiest man alive in her corner. Problem is, each and every one of them has a dirty little secret that could tank a career.

For the contestants, the race is on to lose the most weight and win everything. For the staff of the popular weight loss show, the clock is ticking to the culmination of their lies and the possibility of losing it all.

Will the Biggest Poser win? Or will the lies just grow and grow until they sink the whole show? Only one thing is certain. Whatever happens, it’s gonna be an entertaining ride!

Jillie Maxwell has been one of the trainers at the Lose It! Ranch for over three years, and has helped many in their quest to lose weight. This year she will be in competition with Deva Banks , a new trainer for the title of Master Trainer, USA. Jillie and Deva do not get along especially since Deva’s demeanor is very abrasive, and Deva lets her know that she is going to win. Jillie wanted to win just to shut Deva up, and she also wanted to get to know Brandt better.

Brandt Parkerson is the new Chef who was brought in to help the contestants understand and learn how to cook tasty yet nutritious food. Brandt has been somewhat in love with Jillie for over three years and is happy that he now has the opportunity to work for her. Brandt is a chef but he also has a secret that, if it came to light, would be disastrous.

The Biggest Poser is modeled along the lines of TV’s The Biggest Loser. Jillie’s job is to give her team positive reinforcement and win the competition against Deva. The only problem is that someone is trying to sabotage her and the program. Deva is like Jillian Michaels, she is abrasive and hard on her team members. However, Deva is not what she seems and the finger of suspicion is pointed at her. The Biggest Poser moved somewhat slowly at first then started to pick up as the mystery as to who is sabotaging them is brought to light. Jillie and Brandt are enjoyable characters and Deva is the one you want to hate because of her attitude. The Biggest Poser was a pleasant read, this reader would have liked for it to move just a bit faster and have Deva’s character fleshed out a little more.

Is Prince Charming just a mythical character?

Dr. Joseph Demitri is sure certain he’s met and married his Prince Charming. Charles is both handsome and kind. His new partner has proven his love and respect for both the doctor and his young son time and time again. Their world seems to be fairy tale.

That world is shattered when a vicious murder takes place in the quiet suburb of Atlanta they call home. When Charles is implicated in the murder, the evidence begins to mount, threatening and overwhelming. Most frightening of all, Charles had both motive and opportunity.

The doctor begins to doubt his partner, wondering if their lives have been an apparition, a trick of smoke and mirrors, the product of a cunning, charming chameleon.

Can Joseph rip away the veils hiding a killer or will his love be the next victim?

The men of danger are behaving badly and it’s so good to read about.

I asked for Dr Joseph and Charles’ story. I wasn’t disappointed. Blake Deveraux has created a cast of characters that made me laugh, cry, think and worry about them long after the last page. I waited with bated breath for this book because I had to know what would happen next. The supporting characters are just as strong as the main characters.

There are some editing foibles and a couple of odd line breaks, but on the whole they weren’t distracting. But let me get down to the meat and potatoes of this review. I fell in love with Dr Joseph when he first appeared. I loved how he helped Brandon and how he came into his own through the series. He’s a complicated man, prone to over-think things and totally over the moon for Charles. Good stuff. The complication has to do with his past. I won’t get into lots of details, but the portion of the book revolving around Faith stuck with me. Talk about hard to read! I knew how things would happen, and yet, I sort of hoped it wouldn’t because well… I liked the characters.

There’s a mystery in this book, too. I enjoyed how Mr Deveraux revealed the pieces bit by bit. There is a definite tension built into the story. I read the book in one sitting, even though I said I’d only read three chapters then go to bed. Why read it all the way through? With heat like the passion shared between Charles and Joseph, there’s no sleeping! Good stuff!

If you want a book you’ll think about long after the last page, then this is the book for you.

College is a difficult time for the most confident student, but for Mitch Broward, college life promises to either be the beginning of a new life, or the extension of a painful lie.

When Mitch meets his flamboyant roommate Josh, he realizes just how hard it may be to find his place in the world. He is neither comfortable with his sexuality nor is he ready to put himself through the stress of being “outed”.

He’s hired to tutor Benjamin Walker and his attraction to the handsome football player is unmistakable. Mitch knows that Ben’s teammates regularly harass Josh, tormenting him mercilessly.

Mitch finds himself in a tense friendship with Ben that turns out to be far more complicated than either of them ever dreamed. Mitch’s final dilemma–is Ben is just another bigoted gay-basher, or is there more to the football player than meets the eye?

Angst, drama and hot men are in high order in this book!

In the matter of a few days, I’ve read almost all of the books by Blake Deveraux. It’s been a great few days. I’ve been introduced to characters I can’t help but fall in love with and stories I’ll think about for days to come. Mr Deveraux has a talent for squeezing every last drop of emotion out of a scene and making the reader (me) want to know more.

Lessons in Love is probably my favorite of his books so far. Why? It’s real. How is it real? These are characters that seem like they are people I know in real life. I can identify with Mitch and Ben’s struggles and how they see life. Most of all, I felt like I was there. Mitch is a great character. He’s emotionally strong and steady in the moments where he doesn’t think he can be. I enjoyed reading Ben’s determination to figure himself out. The whole book read like a movie, I could see it happening.

Okay, so there are a couple of typos and a few odd line breaks. Trust me, those really don’t matter. I got so caught up in the book that my inner editor totally shut off. It did.

I think my favorite character was Josh. Flawed as he might have been, I liked him. Again, he’s one people can identify with. Plus he’s got that great snark going for him. His defense mechanisms are what made him memorable.

If you want a book with steamy love scenes between hot guys, a dash of action, and enough emotion for three books, then this is the story for you.

What is more dangerous than a lie?… The truth.

Doctor Joeseph Demitri has met the man of his dreams, his practice is just getting on its way and happiness seems an attainable goal. When his former lover, Andy resurfaces and works his way back into his and Charles’ life, he knows the man holds the power to destroy the life he’s building.

Even as the two men discuss marriage, Charles is getting closer and closer to the truth. One question remains, will the truth bring them together, or will it be the final blow to their love?

I wanted Joe’s story and boy did I get it!

In the space of three days, I’ve read the entire Men of Danger series by Blake Deveraux. Was it worth my time? Absolutely. I can’t think of better characters to sit with for a few hours. I got wrapped up in them, wanted to hug all of them, and thought about them long after I closed the book. Dangerous Deceptions is the third book in the series and it was worth the wait. Joe and Charles needed their story told and I’m glad Mr Deveraux listened.

Dr Joe is a complex man. Most of the time he’s cold and distant. Then there’s Charles. The younger man has the power to draw Joe out of his shell. There’s a lot of love there in Joe and way more than meets the eye. I liked seeing him come into his own. I also liked how his secrets come out. Yes, there are secrets, but the book wouldn’t be nearly as good without the angst.

Then there’s Charles. Back in Dangerous Liaisons, I wasn’t sure how I felt about him. He’s very moody and dramatic. But that’s his charm. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He cares deeply, even when he’s not sure what he’s caring about or how he’s supposed to deal with it. Seeing him in action made it easier to identify with him. Without giving spoilers, there’s a moment with Charles that made me cry a good cry.

As with the other books, there’s a bit of telling over the showing, but Mr Deveraux gets better with each book. This is probably my favorite of his tales. The sex is hot and there are secondary characters I’d love to get to know more. Andy should have a story if he doesn’t already. That guy needs his HEA. Plus, I’d love to see Quinton and Ben again for old time’s sake.

If you want a book, or rather a set of books, with characters you won’t forget, then this is the one for you. I recommend all three Men of Honor books.

What can bring a strong career Marine to his knees?

Daniel Deveraux is a man of action. He doesn’t allow his life to be complicated by anything or anyone. He left the Marines after deciding that the don’t-ask-don’t-tell policy was more than he could abide. He returned home in search of a simple life, one devoid of the insanity he’d endured in Iraq. Love for him was a distant dream.

Brandon Matthews is an exceptional man, both in body and in mind. His magnetic personality and exceptional good looks were an impenetrable wall behind which this damaged man safely hid. His journey found him working days as a carpenter, and nights as “eye candy” at a local gay bar.

The two men find themselves on a tumultuous journey of emotional and sexual revelation that threatens to destroy them both. The intense sexual relationship binds them in a way neither one expects.

The question remains—will the deep sexual bond bring the two men together in a deep and enduring love? Or will it destroy them?

So much drama, so much angst, but such a great read.

I must admit I’ve had this book on my shelf for quite a while. I’d walk past it and take it down, only to put it back. Why? I’d read the first few pages and was sucked in, but I put it back because I didn’t want the story to end. I knew it had to–there’s only 170 pages. I’m glad I read the book, I only wish I’d gotten to it a LOT faster.

Initially I wasn’t impressed with Brandon. He grated on my nerves because he had so much baggage. That said, the farther I got in the book, the more I respected him and the more I fell in love with him. He’s complex and Mr. Deveraux wrote him with such care, I felt like I was right there and could hug Brandon. Heck, I wanted to. The descriptions put me right in his shoes. I liked Daniel, even when he got irksome. Why? I understood his feelings and could identify with him. He’s a good man trying to figure out how to get what he wants out of life. Loved it.

Before I go any further, there were a few things that kept me from fully enjoying this book. Many times the same descriptions were used for the same character. I liked knowing how hot both men were, but felt there were times when I didn’t need to be told again. I enjoyed Mr Deveraux’s story telling. There were times I wasn’t sure where the characters lived, but it never yanked me from the story.

I do have to mention there are more than a couple scenes that aren’t for the faint of heart. There’s a great deal of sexuality in the story and Mr Deveraux handles the emotions behind the acts well. If the reader isn’t expecting a BDSM scene, then it could come across as a shock. Don’t get me wrong, the scene made the book and gave me greater insight into the characters. The scene scorched the pages of the book and left me needing a cold drink. Yeah, it’s that intense.

There aren’t many books with characters who stick with me after the last page. This book is one of those rare exceptions. I wanted to spend more time with Daniel and Brandon. Good for me, there’s two more books in the series. I can’t wait to get my hands on them. If they are anything like this book, they will be worth the read. If you want a book that’s strong on emotion and sex as well as a pair of characters guaranteed to wrap around your heart, then this is the book for you.

Why would a happy couple risk everything when they have just begun to find happiness?

Daniel Deveraux and Brandon Matthews have just bought a new home. They have spent months working on their relationship. Things are finally going their way.

After losing a close friend, Brandon befriends a handsome young mover, Charles. Daniel and Brandon take the handsome man into their home to help protect him from his abusive father.

Charles, confused about his life and his sexuality finds himself wildly attracted to the two men. Unwilling to risk his friendship with Brandon, instead he finds himself in an endless cycle of failed relationships.

Will Daniel and Brandon allow the handsome man that has already found his way into their hearts, into their bed?

The angst is back and ready for round two!

I had waited quite a while before I picked up my first book by Blake Deveraux. I’ve since remedied that fact. This is the second book in his Men of Honor series. I got to visit with Daniel and Brandon all over again, plus meet a few new characters along the way. There’s angst in this book, but it’s well founded. Mr. Deveraux has characters who have been through the wringer and desperately need what we all need…love. I enjoyed how Mr. Deveraux snared me right into the story from the first page. I even tried to put the book down once or twice – the family does need to eat – and as soon as I could, I ran back. I had to know what would happen next.

There are parts where the story gets a bit telly versus showing and a couple of times when I wasn’t sure who was talking. But all in all, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book.

There are wonderful surprises in this book. I got see more of Daniel and Brandon’s past and seeing the issues made a lot more sense. Although some of the issues between them are more fleshed out, I can say that the sex is still smoking hot. The emotions run high. Mr. Deveraux writes scenes to scorch the pages, but in this book there aren’t as hardcore of scenes. This is a good thing in that there aren’t as many surprises for the casual reader. But, that also means that there is more tenderness in the love scenes. Either way, it’s a great read.

I enjoyed the views of the secondary characters as well. Joe and Charles will have a great story to tell and since they are next, I can’t wait. I liked the chemistry between them.

If you want a book that sizzles, then this might just be the novel for you. Enjoy!

Ty Tyler, a well-established and more than competent Australian detective has reached the breaking point; for home, job, as well as relationships. Nothing is going right.

In the midst of his much-needed vacation, a dreaded killer moves to his town. His everyday problems jostle alongside the demands of the investigation.

Of course, one of his more ordinary problems IS that bunch of ghosts demanding justice. If only they didn’t show up at the most inconvenient times… but they do offer some useful insights.

He could be forgiven for dismissing his insights as more signs of an impending nervous breakdown…but he still must resolve this case, before one of his becomes the next victim.

Craving a mystery filled with so many twists it makes your head spin? Stormtide to a Homicide is the book for you.

From the moment I started reading, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for Ty. Juggling his responsibilities as a homicide detective and being the single father of three children has taken its toll on him. His attraction to Elyse, a co-worker, only complicates matters. The man’s life seems to be unraveling around him. As if that weren’t enough, Ty is plagued by the ghosts of homicide victims. I could practically feel the weight of all Ty’s problems on his shoulders.

As a hero, Ty is the classic working man in desperate need of a vacation. He’s dependable and good at his job, but that job has taken too much of his time. It was clear from the start that Ty is a loving father. However, his daughter Shelley has some serious problems stemming from the time a year ago when she ran away, problems that should have been addressed much sooner. When those problems come back to haunt her, I was immediately irritated with Ty. He could have prevented some of Shelley’s issues if he would have carved out some time to take her to someone who would help her work through her problems. Careprost is not suitable for young age like for those who are still under 18 years and a sale of sildenafil tablets long time to go. As the years ticked by appalachianmagazine.com cialis generika from 1998, a disturbing possibility emerged. On the other hand, I could understand Ty’s hesitant behavior. Shelley is a fourteen year old girl and Ty is desperately trying to keep the channels of communication open. Throughout the story, Ms. Gauthier does an excellent job of weaving a complicated and completely believable father-daughter dynamic between Ty and Shelley that really anchored me emotionally to the story.

In addition to creating wonderful main characters, Ms. Gauthier crafted an excellent mystery when writing Stormtide to a Homicide. It was filled with so many twists and turns that I was constantly in suspense about how it would all play out. Ms. Gauthier leaves a pretty good trail of clues, so I was able to figure out some parts of the mystery, but I was completely surprised when some of the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. There were parts of the ending that were left open, but there is no doubt in my mind that Ty will wrap up those loose ends.

I would have liked to get to know Elyse a bit better. Elyse is a smart investigator with a sexy side. She also has a big crush on Ty. However, that is really all I know about her. The flirting between Elyse and Ty as well as their spicier encounters helps add a touch of romance to the story that is a nice change of pace from the heavier parts of the plot. Still, I wish she would have played a larger part in the story so that she and Ty could interact more.

Despite this issue, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Stormtide to a Homicide. I recommend it to anyone looking for an engaging mystery with a splash of romance.

Suburban and lily-white, Charlotte is a breast-cancer survivor who has written off her sexuality. When an accident brings her face-to-face with her Raymond, her younger, ex-con, black neighbor, Charlotte must confront her feelings of desire.

Together the unlikely pair embark on an erotic journey that will change their lives forever.

This short but powerful story draws together two lost and hurting souls who find not only a connection but an acceptance in one another. Charlotte, survivor of not only divorce but a double mastectomy, spends most of her days inside watching her new neighbor, Raymond, work on cars in his driveway. He’s sexy, powerful, and a little bit of a mystery – until the day he injures himself and she rushes to his rescue. What follows is an understated but beautifully written story of how the two of them find comfort in each other’s arms.

What I loved most about this story was its use of non-traditional characters (in all but one respect). The heroine isn’t particularly young or beautiful, especially to herself. All these work together to make sure that young people are thinking about their future by storing cash away in the present. cheapest viagra It is characterized by difficulty in gaining as well as maintaining a good erection. cialis pills wholesale Currently, though, the most likely culprit is believed to be trauma followed by slow pfizer viagra uk or abnormal healing. Nor is the hero attractive in the usual ways; in fact, he’s a recently released criminal who’s trying to keep his head low and avoid contact with others. The way they fall for each other, first in Raymond’s kitchen when Charlotte is trying to bandage his wounds, and later when they become physically intimate for the first time in her house, is both poignant and powerful. The writing, in first person point of view and present tense, is refreshing and touching. I loved Charlotte’s character and found her realistic and likable.

Here’s my only reservation: while Raymond is a kind lover and a seemingly sincere man, I wished that this author hadn’t relied on racial stereotypes to make a black man a criminal who speaks with incorrect grammar and “lower class” slang. This is a nice multi-racial love story, to be sure, but I wish the heroine hadn’t been the proper, educated white woman and the hero who’s possibly dangerous and seemingly uneducated hadn’t been the only black man in town.

Aside from that characterization choice, I very much enjoyed Raymond and recommend the storyline highly. I would read another work by this author and am already looking to see what she has on the shelves!

The pool boy, Ashton, is in reality the undercover heir to the shipping company’s fortune. When an emerald pendant is stolen, Ashton has to discover the culprit before the company’s reputation is compromised. As much as he hates to admit it, Taffy is the prime suspect….

Dance Like Everyone’s Watching is Book One in the Cruise Liner Adventures Series, and it’s a fun short story that starts the series off nicely. Taffy is a new dancer on board a cruise ship where a jewel theft takes place. Ash, who’s undercover as the ship’s pool boy, must investigate the theft while also falling in love with Taffy. The physical attraction between the two happens immediately and drives the story along strongly. Both have a secret or two to hide, and both try their best to resist the other, but luckily for the reader, that doesn’t happen!

Ash is a handsome ladies’ man – the perfect hero for this story. Taffy, though she comes across as a fragile, uncertain newcomer, reveals her animal side in a couple of sizzling foreplay scenes. The setting of a cruise ship is a great place for the action to unfold, and the jewel theft adds a nice secondary conflict to the story as Taffy becomes the prime suspect. A couple of minor characters add good flavor too, including Ash’s jealous ex-girlfriend, Helena.

Probably the only drawback of this story is its length, as it isn’t really long enough to develop the conflict without tipping off the reader. As such, it’s pretty easy to determine who the true jewel thief is. And, despite its length, I would have liked another sex scene or two. Ash resists Taffy for so long that at times the reader almost wonders why. Giving in to his temptation wouldn’t have weakened his character, in my opinion, and would have been more realistic considering the incredible attraction between the two.

If you’re looking for a fun short story set in a romantic, “getaway” locale, this one will meet your needs. I look forward to more of the Cruise Liner Adventures!

Molly James has loved model and newly retired NFL kicker Trey Younger for more than half her life. She knew he’d never thought of her as anything except his little sister’s best friend. Trey had loved Molly since her first visit, but wanted to wait for her to grow up before he claimed her.

Before he could confess his love, she joined the Navy and disappeared. Five years later she walks into his thirtieth birthday party dressed as a dark angel and he refuses to let her disappear again. Problem is that in two days Molly leaves for a six-month sea cruise.

I really admired Molly’s courage in surprising Trey at his birthday party after five years. She didn’t exactly know who he was anymore or how much he’d changed, yet she held firm in finding out if there was something between them. A little encouragement from the right source, also known as Trey’s sister, and the right outfit is sure to turn Trey’s head, but the real question is will it be enough to keep him. I guess sister knows best in this case.

Trey definitely played the field in both his professional and personal life, but there was one girl he couldn’t seem to get out of his head. It’s a shame he never did anything about her when he had the chance and now, five years later, it looks like he might just get a second shot. This story was endearing in the fact that neither character knew how to put their feelings into words, but there actions spoke volumes. There was no awkwardness, just pure passion in their movements – everything done with intention.

My view on the concept behind this story is that you can go home again and maybe find love waiting there. Love, after all, is an enduring emotion. Regardless of circumstance, time, or distance, it’s the easiest thing to give and receive as long as both parties are willing.

The writing itself was clear, concise, and flowed very naturally throughout the story. It was truly an enjoyable read and I can only say that I would’ve loved for it to be longer.
