In a world filled with “monsters” and monster hunters, I was immediately transported to a world like my own, but with secrets! This is the third book in the series, although it can quite easily be read as a standalone as I did.

You jump straight into the action, with our main male being captured and carried away. Our main female sets off after him, determined to help both the man she has known for three weeks, and the wolf inside which she wants to know! With magic, both good and bad, and different abilities in the mix, anything is possible.

This is a fast-paced story, with a fantastic set of characters. I would love to read more of their world, and catch up on the stories I have missed. With a couple of twists at the end, just to keep you on your toes, this was a delightful read from start to finish, and I have no hesitation in recommending it

Now, after their parents’ sudden deaths, the MacAllister siblings return to camp to read the will and decide what to do with the prime real estate the camp occupies. Ryan needs to sell. Margaux hasn’t made up her mind. Mary believes in leaving well enough alone. Kate and Liddie—the twins—have opposing views. And Sean Booth, the groundskeeper, just hopes he still has a home when all is said and done.

But it’s more complicated than a simple vote. The will stipulates that until they unravel the mystery of what happened to Amanda, they can’t settle the estate. Any one of them could have done it, and each one is holding a piece of the puzzle. Will they work together to finally discover the truth, or will their secrets finally tear the family apart?

You never quite get past a tragedy that happens in your youth. It’s even harder when it’s of your friends involved in the accident. But how do you get past it when someone you love – a member of your own family – might have caused the incident in the first place? How do you cope with knowing someone you’re so close to has been keeping such a horrible secret?

Told from several points of view, I’ll Never Tell pieces together one summer night from twenty years previous. Bit by bit, the mystery is put together until you know who hurt Amanda Holmes. I love that one of the points of view is Amanda’s, it lends an authenticity and an emotional element to the novel. Her voice was probably my favorite because she was the only one you could truly trust. All the others had something to hide for one reason or another.

Of all the siblings, Ryan is the only one I felt badly for. He was outright accused by his father of harming Amanda, but never to his face. I can’t imagine how much of a gut punch it had to have been to find out in your father’s will that he suspected you of something so awful. Now, Ryan wasn’t a saint, but he had put in extra effort to become a better person after that summer. I think liked Margo the best though since she seemed to have it together more than Mary, Liddie, or Kate. Sean, I don’t know what it was about him, but he gave me the creeps from the very beginning. All in all, they make for an interesting and unique cast of characters. Each holding onto their own secrets, not telling a soul about what they’re harboring. It makes for a very effective suspect pool.

I’ll Never Tell is a rollercoaster ride of lies, deceptions, and secrets hidden for twenty years. The author does an excellent job of distracting you with false clues, making you suspect one person while all along it was someone else. I’ll say this much – I had two suspects high on my list and it wound up being neither in the end. The author is just that good. I’ll Never Tell is one of the most gripping, engrossing novels I’ve read so far this year.

Just once, Joyce and Odell want to taste life’s wild side, without consequences . . .

When their new neighbors, Milton and Yvonne Hamilton, turn out to be bootleggers, the Watsons plunge headlong into good times and fast living. . . . The Watsons soon find them invading every area of their lives, even discovering their long-held secrets. Now, the Watsons must tread carefully to keep the neighbors from destroying their perfect world . . .

They are glad to see that the new neighbors who moved in are closer to their age than their previous neighbors, but once they get know their ex-con bootlegger neighbors will their pleasure at having neighbors their age change?

At the start of the book, Joyce MacPherson is a thirty year old single woman living at home with her parents. Joyce is extremely tall and not known to be that attractive.  If you let the townspeople tell it she is ‘mugly’. Odell Watson is the newly hired stock boy at her father’s store. He has a personally desire for a woman that has long hair and lighter skin, but when he meets Joyce there’s something about her that piques his interest. Odell is described to be handsome and all the woman are drawn to him. The story is set during the time of Jim Crow and the Great Depression but the MacPhersons seem to be during well for themselves.

I inadvertently read book two of the series first that tells Milton and Yvonne’s story. Compared to Milton and Yvonne, Joyce and Odell’s story doesn’t seem as exciting. Their lives are pretty much quiet and don’t have as much action. Odell’s upbringing wasn’t as rich as Joyce’s but they still find a fit that works for them as a couple. I like how the author made the characters so diverse in their background even though they are all from the same town. Joyce seems a little naïve to me but for some reason I feel that she too has a secret. Her life can’t be as boring as it is.

I enjoyed reading Joyce and Odell’s story. I like how the author split the story to tell from all viewpoints. In this book the reader gets to see Joyce’s point of view and how she feels about Yvonne and how men react to Yvonne’s beauty. I kind of feel sorry for Joyce because she seems so alone and she still seems like an outcast because she doesn’t have any close friends and she pretends to be someone she’s not. I want something good to happen for Joyce. Yes she has a handsome husband and a wealthy upbringing but her story made me feel like she’s not living a life like those around her.

If I had to pick characters that I liked best, it would be Joyce’s parents Millie and Preston. They are honest and straight-forward with no filter in what they say, even to their own daughter. They don’t worry about hurting her feelings or covering up what they suspect. Even though he started out as a good guy in my eyes, Odell ended up being my least favorite because of his weakness and secrets. By the end of the book he has dug himself so deep I know he’ll either do anything to keep his secret or anything is liable to happen that will cause his world to crash just like the economy during this time period.

This book wasn’t as funny as book two but it showed a more serious side of real life things like miscarriage, infidelity and those dealing with low self esteem.  I enjoyed the book and I can’t wait to read what will happen next in the series.

When Rio has a change of heart about his newfound crew, he needs an escape plan. There is one problem: his family doesn’t know where he is. Did he inherit any of the ruthless traits he observed in his father and brothers? Can the most colorful Duncan son get out of Baltimore and back home safe and sound now that he’s on his own?

The Duncan family is known for having plenty of action and drama and even though Rio is the baby of the family the drama he brings to the family measures up just the same as any of the other Duncan children.

As a fan of the Family Business series I appreciated seeing Rio in a different light and to read a story of him on his own. Rio isn’t feeling the love and attention from his family. He’s feeling like he isn’t understood and that he doesn’t bring value to the family as his other brothers and sisters do. He decides to take a break away from it all, partly to see if his family even notices that he’s gone and partly to do what Rio enjoys – have fun and enjoy the luxury of his lifestyle. In the big city of Baltimore, trouble surely does find him.

In this story Corey, Diana, Dre and Pierre are introduced. Corey Parks, owner of the night club Wet Dreams, has inherited his father’s drug business. In his line of business, Corey has a secret that he feels can’t be told so he take measures to cover up his secret. Corey also owns Chic World where Diana works as a sought after fashion stylist. Rio’s desire for fashion is how he meets Diana. And so it begins – this is a quick read with a moving plot that Carl Weber is known for. I didn’t want to put the book down until I had finished the story. The authors touched on a sensitive subject of sexuality, those that fear it and those that also hide from it. The story was done in good taste but some of the name calling could be offensive to some readers.  Also, this book has a same sex relationship, though there’s not any sexual action, I still feel the need to mention this in my review since the character’s sexuality is heavily mentioned in the storyline.

As with the books before this author knows how to keep the readers interest. He’s a professional storyteller whose characters range from ordinary to eccentric to treacherous. Rio is the eccentric portion of that, and readers will also find the treacherous side in this read. That’s what makes his writing so entertaining the plot is attention catching but he also has well developed characters that draw the readers into their thoughts and mannerisms. Reading his books is not just a story it’s getting to really know someone.

There are secrets that will be revealed. My attention was so focused on one portion of the plot that I didn’t realize there was more to it until it was revealed.

I enjoyed reading Rio’s story and I can say that Rio can hold his own and definitely prove that he is a Duncan. I loved how the family showed Rio that he is part of the family. This is an entertaining read that I would recommend.

She revels in Uberon’s passion and shoulders the burden of power and responsibility beyond anything she ever dreamed.

A powerful story of Seelie and Unseelie, magic and control, love and loss. I’ve loved each of these books, and this one continues the magical story of a strange and dangerous land where Fae live and humans are drawn to.

As each book focuses on different characters, this series can be read in any order, but to get all the backstory of the characters and their world, then reading them in order might help some, but either way you are in for a treat!

I enjoyed Uberon and Corinne’s story, more so since they had an interesting dynamic with Uberon being a fallen immortal king, and Corinne who has her own strengths and powers, her beauty and character made stronger in her humanity.

Holly Bargo has a gift with words and a vivid imagination for magical lands and characters to match! While the romance is strong in these, it’s beautifully woven into a story of quests for love, burning passion, painful loss, and alluring intimacy. The setting is easy to picture, and the characters aren’t soon forgotten.

Together, Jaclyn and Jack must battle to save not only their fathers, but the townspeople the beasts plan to lay waste to before it’s too late.

She has nightmares. She hears people screaming and sees monsters. Why does she have these dreams?

This is a revamp of the traditional fairy tale and Ms. Ting gives us a much more lengthy tale with lots of detail. This is a full bodied read.

Jaclyn lives with her parents on their secluded farm. Her parents are loving and they have a good life together. Her mother is suggesting it’s time for Jaclyn to find a husband and settle down but Jaclyn is happy where she’s at and has no interest in men.

When she hears her father having a secret meeting in the barn, she listens. There are sheep missing and the monsters are walking again. Maybe that’s why she’s dreaming about them. Her father is going to take three sheep with him and set a trap. A few men are going to go with him. When he leaves in the morning, she’s in the back of the wagon, hidden.

There’s a battle with the monsters that mimics her dream but she didn’t foresee her father and his friends being taken prisoner. How is she going to save him?

Ms. Ting writes a story that keeps your attention and makes you wonder how it’s going to end. She even introduces Jaclyn to her love before the tale is over.

The author has added a religious base to the source of the monsters that’s a bit unusual for a fairy tale but the way she did it made sense.

This was an enjoyable read even with the sad parts. This story will stick with you after you’ve finished the book. Ms. Ting has a good touch with fairy tales.

Brooke Lemon left home seven years ago and hasn’t been back. When her sister Mindy shows up on her doorstep in the midst of an emotional breakdown, will Brooke be able to help her sister?

I was entertained by the plot, and the author’s humorous writing style. I enjoyed the characters. I loved their liveliness and the realness of their personalities. The children’s antics were a joy to read. I enjoyed following the individual growth of Brooke and Mindy and I also relished seeing the sisters growing in their relationship and watching the bond strengthen between them.

I liked Mindy and I can understand and relate to her overload of having an absentee husband and three active little ones. The reader gets to see Mindy’s breakdown but we also get to see her pick herself back up. The character I liked least was Brooke. I didn’t understand why she stayed away so long and why she felt that she couldn’t share her secrets with her sister. Mindy has a kind heart and they grew up close so I didn’t understand why Brooke felt the need to leave Mindy in the dark during a time when she needed family and the love of her sister. Brooke begins to see that her sister isn’t perfect. Mindy is a woman that plans and organizes when Brooke is the type of person that freelances life. Both in their brokenness will they be able to piece back their relationship?

I enjoyed the relationship between Mindy and Linc. Linc stepped up to the plate and understood his wife’s cry for help and took action. For some reason I didn’t care much for Brooke and Garrett’s relationship. I wanted them to be together but the fact they couldn’t get past their personal hurdles because of themselves didn’t make for a good fit in the storyline. They weren’t happy apart but couldn’t see their way to be together. Readers will definitely feel the attraction of Brook to Garrett because it is mentioned several times throughout the book.

I was pleased with Garrett and his dad’s rebuilding a son/dad relationship. Garrett’s kind heart and forgiveness was touching. I liked Garrett. Because of his childhood he could have been bitter and unforgiving but this wasn’t his outcome.

Despite the few dislikes I did enjoy the mix of family, rebuilding relationships, revealing secrets and romance made this an overall good read that I would recommend.

One of the things I appreciate the most about Mr. Frankel’s writing is how his tales discuss characters who have physical or mental health problems that impact what they’re able to do. He has always written those scenes with a strong sense of compassion, and this book continued that trend. The best parts of it to me were the ones that showed how Jake dealt with his disabilities. He had more than one diagnosis, and all of his diagnoses affected him every day in ways that I couldn’t have guessed ahead of time. This is one of the many reasons why I enjoy this author’s work so much and why I continue recommending it to everyone I know who reads the young adult genre.

Not only was there a great deal of character development for Jake, the ways he changed as a person made perfect sense. No one can roam the Internet without learning and growing in some way, especially when all of their senses are telling them that everything they’re seeing, touching, and hearing is as real as our world. The only slight adjustment I would have made to this part of the plot would be to do a little bit more with Miranda’s character development as well. She did change, too, but I would have loved to see a few more scenes showing how her relationship with Jake had an influence on this. With that being said, this was something I barely noticed. I still had a fantastic time following their adventures.

The world building was spectacular. I especially enjoyed seeing what happened to Jake after he entered the Internet. How the human mind might adapt to such an experience is something I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about, and I was fascinated by the way Jake’s mind adapted to a digital world. There were a few plot twists concerning this that made me grin. They couldn’t have been written better, although I’ll leave it up to all of you to figure out what they were for yourselves.

Cyber Sprite was a wonderful tale I’d recommend to anyone who has ever had a problem that they know will be permanent.
