For centuries, the extremely powerful and ruthless vampire witches of the European Council have wandered the Earth, controlling governments, fostering war, creating political conflict, and often leaving absolute destruction in their wake. One of the strongest of them is set to create some havoc in the city of New Orleans, and it’s definitely personal.

Jane is tasked with tracking him down. With the help of a tech wiz and an ex-Army ranger, her partners in Yellowrock Securities, she’ll have to put everything on the line, and hope it’s enough. Things are about to get real hard in the Big Easy.

Jane has finally met a vampire that might be tough to kill and her beast can’t help her. One of the original sons of darkness, the markers of the vampire race, has escaped vampire headquarters and is on the loose killing humans. Jane has been called in by both the human and vampire authorities to stop the rogue vampire, but she’ll need help from her business partners and friends to do it. As Jane’s powers have been growing, so has her own uneasiness with her place in life. She’s not entirely sure what she believes anymore and how it fits into the new world view. It’ll take all her effort and the combined help of her friends to take down this super powerful vampire, if that can even happen.

Dark Heir is the ninth book in the Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter. I suppose any action based book could, theoretically, be read as a stand alone since the focus is always on the action scenes but I wouldn’t recommend it. The characters, especially the large supporting cast, and plot rely heavily on reader knowledge of past events and complicated relationships for the book to fully make sense. So readers should ensure they’ve read the main books in the series before picking up this one. Here the plot is incredibly similar to the previous books – bad guy on the loose and only Jane can stop them. The story has upped the power of the bad guy to correspond with Jane’s own increasing power and ability. Jane is pretty super powerful in this book and only an uber powerful vampire can really match her now. The focus is solidly on the detective work to figure out where the vampire could be and then the several fight scenes between Jane and co. and the bad guy.

In some ways this works since the writing strengths are definitely in the action of the plot. It helps move the story along when I found it somewhat boring at times. I got frustrated with Jane’s all powerful new presence and kind of hated how she could survive literally anything. Not to give spoilers but the fact that she survives the ending and –then- kills the bad guy is almost ludicrous. I feel as though the story focused nicely on Jane but left out the most interesting secondary characters – Leo, Beast – and as always I’m so tired of Jane assuming that everything is always her fault. That kind of guilt is wearying when it’s so clear it’s untrue and unproductive. It also shows incredible arrogance that she feels she controls all destiny, both past and present. I really wanted to tell her to get over herself repeatedly.

That said I like this series for the most part, although this was a more introspective book focusing almost exclusively on Jane and her internal whining in between fight scenes. I think the other books have been stronger with their inclusion of the other characters and a more dialogue based story. I think fans of the series will enjoy this addition as it’s a classic JY story in almost every way. It has some differences and fans can decide if they like them or not but I don’t see this as a permanent departure for the series, more like one that didn’t work as well for me. I’ll still be getting the next book and hoping that there’s more of the witty banter and secondary characters that make the story shine so well.

Zach’s Rebound Girl was a classic romance in the first part of the story. It took some time for the mystery and the suspense elements to come to light. Actually, the mystery and the suspense elements were practically non-existent in the first part of the story. When it did come to light, the development was slow at first and then it took off. It kept me on the edge till the end.

Maddison was a nerd in college who had a crush on her best friend that secretly turned into love over time. Zachary always had a special place in his heart for Maddison. After college he has a successful business but he wants his best friend back. Maddison is a renovator in a television show. However, when incidents starts happening on the set her friends and Zach suspects there is more to it than simple accidents.

Zach and Maddison parted on less than amicable terms when they were in university. When Zach left without informing Maddison, it hurt her beyond anything. She wants Zach in her life not as a best friend but as a lover, a partner. Will they be able to get past their insecurities and secrets to commit on a forever after?

Both of the main characters, when they meet after years apart, have a lot of chemistry and passion between them. I could see it even if they couldn’t right away. That also played a big part in keeping them apart until they start to really communicate. One other thing I loved about these characters was, even after years without really seeing or talking to each other they knew and understand each other, as well as believed that both of them has changed somewhat in those years apart.

This is a book for the romance lovers who love a little bit of mystery and suspense added to it.

I have to admit I have a weakness for anything set during the Regency and this book didn’t disappoint in any way.

Ms. Gabrielle did a wonderful job at allowing me, the reader, to be immersed in this very unique period in history. The luxuries, the social hierarchy, the customs and the extremes. Everything was detailed perfectly, and an added bonus was I learned another thing or two about the Regency. I’m guessing that she’s done lots of reading and research not only on this period but all aspects of everyday life in the 1820s.

I enjoyed reading about both the lead characters. At first I thought, oh no another story about two people posing as a couple, but the intrigue and storyline was unique enough to overlook this.

The dialogue is spot on. Sophie, the main character, is one you cheer for. Not only in finding the truth behind her father’s death but you hope she gets her man too. The pacing is fast and I found myself enjoying the last one hundred pages all in one sitting just to find out what happened.

For me there’s nothing better than a good Regency story and if you too like a romance peppered with a color historical setting, and not to mention lots of page turning intrigue, I’d definitely give this one a try. I know I’ll be checking out more of the author’s work.

This novel was a lovely and quick read that I enjoyed very much. Ms Druzy created such likeable characters and a story filled with sweep-you-off-your-feet romance.

Sleeping With Santa is a fantastic read, that I have recommended to many of my friends. The story takes place in a small town was almost everyone knows everyone’s business. The mains characters, Lily and Nick both have a hot-and-cold sort of romance going on when she running into him in town one day. Both Lily and Nick have a very strong emotional connection from then on out.

I absolutely love Christmas and when I heard of Sleeping With Santa I was very excited to read more. The holiday feel to this novel kept very much in the Christmas sprit throughout the story. The back-and-forth between the two main characters, Lily and Nick, had me not wanting to put this book down as I have a soft spot of romance story like that.

I was very pleased to see that both Nick and Lily’s point-of-views were included and I could understand both of main characters actions as the story unfolded. This style of writing has to be one of my favourites.

Overall, Sleeping With Santa was a brilliant holiday romance novel perfect for anytime of year. I would recommend this entertaining and well-written story to those who like light hearted novels with a side of steaming romantic scenes. Second Chance Summer is the first book in the series. The background of this plot is interesting and very well written. The past plays a very important role in this story and this past isn’t revealed completely in the first page or even the first chapter. It is revealed in sections throughout the first part of the book and that is what kept me hooked.

Aiden has always regretted not stopping Lily when she was hell bent on leaving everything familiar when tragedy stuck. But the return of Lily after ten years puts his heart at jeopardy. Will he risk his heart again to get back the love of his life? If he does, it won’t be an easy journey. For any of them.

Lily and Aiden have a lot of hot sizzling chemistry but it is going to take a lot of work for their relationship to heal and rebuild. Jill Shalvis did a wonderful job in not only building a plot but also building all the characters with their own personality so that every aspect and every part of this story kept me interested and wanting to read it.

Throughout the story what was evident was that Lily loves Aiden. But ten years before something happened that made her leave her hometown and break her relationship with Aiden. The first part of the story kept me asking why and how she left and when I did find out everything what kept me reading was “will she leave again?” Will they be a couple again? I got the answers and more.

Besides the main character the secondary characters plays their own important parts and I believe these characters would be the reason for me to read the next book in these series.

Second Chance Summer is not only a contemporary romance but is also a story that goes deep into human emotions and actions. This one is an easy recommend for readers who love their heroes flawed and little on the naughty side and their heroines determined to resist, even when it’s futile. A fantastic read!

Sustanon 250mg mainly used buy uk viagra to increases energy require for aggression. Anyone who loved the movie R.I.P.D. might find this novel a rollicking good time because there are some elements that appear in both the movie and this book by Mr. Cash. I had so much fun reading Witches Protection Program that I didn’t stop reading until I was done. What an awesome way to spend an afternoon!

The basic premise is one done before; youngest son tries to measure up to the expectations of a powerful parent and competes and loses to the overachieving elder siblings and the youngest never seems to do anything right. I have a lot of sympathy for Wes, the hero. Not only does he want to succeed and make his family proud, he has to contend with his reading disability. There are so many reasons to like Wes, and very few not to.

The difference is that the powerful parent is actually a good guy. He really does love his son so it was refreshing not to have to deal with that kind of family conflict. As for Wes’ mega-successful older siblings, they never appear on stage – I get the feeling that there is no animosity between them, just a fervent wish on the hero’s part to be successful in his own right. It sounds like he has a great family, and it wasn’t until the very, very end that I found out it’s a family with secrets. Wow, did my mouth hang open upon that realization! Talk about saving that extra fancy firework for the last hurrah in an amazing finale. I can assure you I was grinning from ear to ear.

Even though the majority of this novel is about Wes and his finding his own path and self-actualization, he isn’t the only star. Morgan is the heroine that readers will aptly come to the conclusion of being hapless, much to her aunt’s dismay and annoyance. The aunt is a very twisted soul and yet, in her own perverted way, I think she really does love her niece – she just has an unhealthy way of expressing it. Morgan, it turns out, isn’t as hapless or as helpless as a reader is lead to believe and that bumped up the story another notch on the ‘cool’ scale. However, I too would draw the line at gummy bugs come to life. What a master stroke of devious imagination. Ick!

One thing I’m absolutely happy about is the little electrical zings between Wes and Morgan. I don’t know if it will actually turn into a romance but they sure were in ‘serious like’ with each other. I know I am in like with them. J

Secondary characters are absolutely fascinating. Mr. Cash totally hoodwinked me because quite a few are not at all how they are initially portrayed. Only at the right time, when it benefited the story most, did the author whisk away the figurative tablecloth to magically reveal astounding truths, magic and connections. The condensing of the action into a tight well written couple of chapters filled with chases, attacks, magic fights and zooming witches, animated inanimate objects and colorful descriptions just blew me away. I just loved the flow of this novel.

The point of view is mostly told from Wes’ side, but Morgan has her moments as well as her aunt. The head-hopping was kept at a minimum however, so when it did occur, it was valuable and appreciated.

All in all, if you are looking for something different that entertains, amazes, impresses and surprises, Witches Protection Program will give you all that and more. It’s funny, clever, witty and smart. It’s action packed, fast moving and a fun conflict. It would make a great movie and if it stayed true to the book? I’d pay to see it. I enjoyed Witches Protection Program that much.

Troy’s character development was well done. His persistence was exactly what this case needed, and his intelligent approach to the clues kept me interested in what he would discover next. He felt like a real person to me because so much time had clearly been spent crafting his strengths as well as his weaknesses. The author did a marvelous job with this protagonist.

The cast of characters was extremely large. There were so many different individuals being introduced to the plot that I had trouble keeping track of who everyone was and how they knew one another. This also made it difficult for me to remember important details about the suspects because they were mixed in with so many other people.

The subplots were just as interesting as the main one. I wasn’t expecting this book to include such a wide variety of storylines. It’s difficult to discuss them without giving away spoilers, but I really liked how many different problems Mr. Morrill expected Troy to try to solve simultaneously. It gave the plot a sense of urgency that it otherwise wouldn’t have had.

There were some pacing issues in this story. The narrator spent a great deal of time introducing all of the characters to the reader. While the mystery did make itself known, I would have liked to see it show up in some way much sooner. It felt odd to read so many chapters about the daily lives of ordinary people when I was expecting to solve a case alongside Troy.

With that being said, the murder itself was compelling. I enjoyed seeing how methodically each clue was revealed. While I did figure out the twist ahead of time, it definitely took some work on my part to do so. This isn’t the kind of mystery that reveals all of its secrets easily. Needing to put in that extra effort is something I appreciate when reading this genre.

Mangrove Bayou is a good choice for anyone who enjoys tales set in rural, insular communities.

For Caroline, hosting Gut It! is part of her identity. Facing its loss, she feels betrayed by her daughter and old in the eyes of the world. Who am I? Both women ask, as the blueprints they’ve built their lives around suddenly need revising. While loyalties shift, decisions hover, and new relationships tempt, their challenge comes not only in remaking themselves, but in rebuilding their relationship with each other.

Blueprints starts off in a slow, easy manner and gains speed as Barbara Delinsky reaches into the depths of the main characters’ minds and hearts at a life-changing. Emotions churn inside them, under their can-do, professional façade.

Like so many women in real life, Carolyn, age fifty-seven, and her daughter Jamie, age twenty-nine, define themselves by their professions. They compete in male-dominant professions and downplay their sensuality. Neither realizes it, until two modern superheroes ease into their lives and awaken passion, not just the sexual kind, but also passion for life itself.

Blindsided by a change other people demand in their roles in a TV show they do for the family business, Carolyn and Jamie are at odds with each other—a conflict unusual for them. Self-esteem and self-worth come away with some bruises. How they heal and move on makes compelling reading.

They are forced to come to grips with who they really are after the death of Carolyn’s ex-husband—Jamie’s father. He has been a major player in the family business that they have all dedicated their time and talents to for years. Their intellectualizing leads them one way. Their feelings lead them another way.

The upheaval after the tragic death leaves Carolyn watching over, and more and more filling the shoes of her ex-father-in-law who started and heads up the family business; while Jamie becomes guardian of her precious two-year-old half brother—a role she has no skills in. Love for the little boy compels her to make adjustments that play havoc with her pristine, orderly lifestyle.

The two super heroes mentioned won this reader’s heart. Both are “manly” men who are steady, trustworthy, helpful, and totally supportive. Dean, a longtime friend and colleague of Carolyn’s, is comfortable in his own skin at this stage in this life. He eases into her life and becomes SO much more than a treasured friend. It’s as if she sees him for the first time after all their years of working together. He protects, challenges, chides gently at times, all the while awakening the passionate part of Carolyn that had always been dormant.

For Jamie, drowning in motherhood, is rescued by Chip, a bad-boy hockey player turned teacher. He is a single parent who learned by trial and error. How their relationship evolves is captivating. The love they share has sizzle and SO much more. It makes one’s heart feel good.

Barbara Delinsky, in her very special way, immerses the reader in the lives of the characters. Blueprints is a keeper to read more than once.

A masterful, intensely suspenseful novel about a reader whose obsession with a reclusive writer goes far too far—a book about the power of storytelling, starring the same trio of unlikely and winning heroes King introduced in Mr. Mercedes

“Wake up, genius.” So begins King’s instantly riveting story about a vengeful reader. The genius is John Rothstein, an iconic author who created a famous character, Jimmy Gold, but who hasn’t published a book for decades. Morris Bellamy is livid, not just because Rothstein has stopped providing books, but because the nonconformist Jimmy Gold has sold out for a career in advertising. Morris kills Rothstein and empties his safe of cash, yes, but the real treasure is a trove of notebooks containing at least one more Gold novel.

Morris hides the money and the notebooks, and then he is locked away for another crime. Decades later, a boy named Pete Saubers finds the treasure, and now it is Pete and his family that Bill Hodges, Holly Gibney, and Jerome Robinson must rescue from the ever-more deranged and vengeful Morris when he’s released from prison after thirty-five years.

Not since Misery has King played with the notion of a reader whose obsession with a writer gets dangerous. Finders Keepers is spectacular, heart-pounding suspense, but it is also King writing about how literature shapes a life—for good, for bad, forever.

Imagine being a writer who decides to step down at the top of his or her game. Now imagine knowing the characters have more to say, but you’re not sure it’s any good. Oh, and someone wants you dead…

So brings together one of my favorite threesomes–Bill Hodges, the hard-boiled former detective, Holly Gibney, a slightly off-kilter, bvut sweeet woman who is a genius at the computer and Jerome Robinson, the smart-as-heck teen who seems to know just how to work with Holly and Bill to get the job done.

I love Stephen King’s work. It’s some of my favorites to read. When I saw Finders Keepers was up for preorder, I put in my order. I’m glad I did. I devoured this book in one day–nearly in one sitting. The writing is tight, for King, and suspense-filled. I couldn’t put it down.

I felt like I was right there in the car with Bill, finding the Moleskins and money along with Pete and trying to unravel the mystery before time was up.

I won’t disclose too many details. The story is just that delicious and should be savored. There are plot twists all over the place and reading this was like spending time with old friends while working out a mystery.

If you’re in the mood for something dark and full of suspense, then pick up this gripping read.

When Quinn Rutledge and Summer Rosales met on a warm summer night on the shores of beautiful Lake Amethyst, they were both young, all was right in the world, and the only thing on their agenda was romance—one that neither of them wanted to end with the summer and closing of resort town Amethyst’s tourist season. Promises and plans were made. Promises were broken…

Though he’d returned to his livelihood after the summer with the woman he’d fallen so hard for, his heart prevented him from keeping away until they could see each other again the following summer as they planned. When Summer didn’t show up, he’d tried to find her and couldn’t. Though he should have returned to his writing, he’s instead found himself settling in Amethyst, waiting hopefully, and probably foolishly, through endless winters until Summer comes around…

Has Summer waited too long to return?

Summer is definitely not the type of woman to get caught up in a whirlwind romance. She is a very organized young woman with specific goals for her life. Her romance with Quinn caught her off guard. Unfortunately, Summer wasn’t ready to let her carefully laid plans be derailed. Little did she know how much her life was about to change. When Summer left, Quinn felt like a part of him died. It has been four years. Will Quinn still be waiting, or has Summer missed out on the love of a lifetime?

Summer and Quinn have an amazingly intense connection given the short amount of time they spent together and the duration of their separation. Their love for each other is so strong that it compelled them to wait for each other. Quinn literally put his entire life on hold for years waiting for her to come back, and even though Summer continued with her schooling and professional goals, she clearly wasn’t truly living either. I understand why Summer is reluctant to return and confess what had happened immediately after she parted from Quinn, but I really can’t believe she didn’t try to contact him sooner as it is clear she never got over him.

Summer finally decides to go back to Amethyst, but almost at exactly the same time as Quinn’s professional life hits a major snag that will require him to leave Amethyst. I was on pins and needles wondering if Summer would make it in to town before Quinn left. While the anticipation of their reunion really added a lot of suspense to the story, I do think it was drawn out a bit too much. I was nearly half way through the book before they actually met in person. However, I am pleased to report that they do indeed get together and their reunion is certainly memorable.

Summer has some major trust issues that need to be resolved. She tells Quinn about her arrest almost immediately, but there are some other details that she is very reticent about sharing. While I understand that Summer thinks she is protecting him, I could see that postponing the inevitable would only make things worse. I knew it was only a matter of time before certain facts came to light. However, I wasn’t expecting them to be revealed in such a terrible way. Once the whole story came out, Quinn and Summer’s relationship is really put to the test. Will Summer finally trust Quinn completely?

Overall, I enjoyed reading Til Summer Comes Around. Quinn is a wonderful, gentle hero and is a perfect match for Summer. I enjoyed watching them reconnect, and their happy ending is certainly well deserved. Fans of contemporary romance would do well to give this story a try.
