Davey Johnson is a hot-shot NASCAR driver who never wanted to be slowed down by fatherhood. But when he finds out he has a nine-year-old son, he vows to be a better father than his old man. When his first efforts fail in a big way, he enlists Nora’s parenting help. But what starts as a chore transforms into something way hotter than a final lap.

When Davey’s sponsors clash with Nora’s vegan ways, he’s forced to choose between his passion for racing and his love of Nora. Will they be able to blend their lives or will their romance run right off the track?

Let me say up first that I love the characters in this book! Ms. Hutton has done a wonderful job creating three-dimensional characters who are flawed, yet looking for the right path to take.  The main characters, Nora and Davey, have a chemistry that I love and, once they get together (hey, this is a romance so that’s not a spoiler), their times together are scorching.

But true love doesn’t run smooth and this is never truer than in a romance novel.  Nora has a lot of demons from her past that she finds hard to get past, despite advice from everyone to “live in the now.” And, she is a strident vegan which puts throws a spanner in the romantic works due to the fact that one of Davey’s sponsors is a huge hunting outfitter.  At times, the vegan/vegetarian message gets a little too preachy – I enjoyed it better when she and Ben led by example. But, this was a very small quibble with an otherwise really neat story.

A couple of my favorite parts were Nora’s gift with animals as well the well-timed appearances of her Pap- the only man who was ever constant in her life.  Pap came close to being my favorite character of all!

The writing was very good and I stayed up way too late to finish the book.  Good job, Ms. Hutton. I’ll definitely be looking for more books by this author in the future.

This story is an exciting fantasy romance filled with heart-rending angst and enough surprises to keep readers wondering what is going to happen next.

It may be the second in the series, but there is just enough information given to make the situation understandable. Dane, a sexy rock star, has issues and is struggling, but even with his weakness, he’s likeable right at the start. Meirah, his wife, is intriguing, and from a very different world. Reading about how she struggles to fit in is enchanting.

The physical details of the tale are descriptive and immediate, making the reader sense what the characters sense. There is a lot of action and high emotion, moving the pace along.

When Dane gets tricked into doing something, readers see his weak side. Does that make him less likable? What happens as a result includes frolicking action and high emotions.

The magic and the mystical weave around the human, the mundane, to add mystery and enhance the world, or rather worlds, created in the story. When the likeable secondary characters show integrity and courage, they find themselves facing serious trouble and a well-developed, complex villain.

It’s hard to put down this book. Fans of the talented author, Christine Church, will not be disappointed with this exciting story. It ends on a cliff-hanger. The next book in the trilogy promises to be a good one.

When their mother unexpectedly dies, the three sisters go home for the reading of the will. The oldest takes the house, the middle one takes the jewels and the youngest one ends up with the cat. The fascinating part about it is that it’s lilac in color…

This is a charming romance with a paranormal cat who can talk and who really is lilac colored. It can even wear high heels. I really liked the way the author made it sound believable (even if far-fetched) and how they wound the romance around the cat’s influence. Fifi makes a pretty good matchmaker and she even manages to get Caitlin a business deal.

The pace is fast enough to keep your interest and the romance fluctuates. The man is extremely good looking and knows it, has lots of money, and doesn’t often sleep alone. Caitlin almost got raped as a child and is still a virgin. She also repairs clothes for a living. Could two people be more different?

The best part is the fashion show where Caitlin is showing off her designs and his former girlfriend is modelling them. As you can imagine, there’s a conflict.

With an outspoken cat who says what she thinks, romance in the air and plenty of interesting conversations, the author keeps you reading and smiling until the end.

The interesting premise is enjoyable, the tale is well written and love is in the air. As you read, you wait to see if they can overcome their differences…Recommended.

StarBash is the hottest thing on TV. Featuring desperate actors facing off in madcap competitions to win a movie deal, the reality show is famous for making fools of its fame-starved participants.

So it seems odd that respected Hollywood A-lister Cassandra “Casmo” Moreaux would become a contestant. But her motivation is simple: revenge against the program’s producer, Lenora Danmore, the legendary movie star who blacklisted Casmo’s mother during the McCarthy era.

When you have been fired from a job, it can be simply treated generic tadalafil online with a tablet. Hence buy cialis robertrobb.com in order to have a healthy form of intimacy of the males. Vindictive and wicked, Lenora is determined to set a trap for the upstart movie star. But when Casmo unexpectedly falls in love with the show’s wry host–Lenora’s illegitimate son–the murder plot bubbles over with unforeseen complications.

Featuring sarcastic celebrities, murderous androids, and off-the-wall humor from beginning to end, Death of a Movie Star masterfully pulls Hollywood culture apart at the seams. It’s a Tinseltown romp that’s part mystery, part suspense, and two parts roller derby!

What a funny story and yet a scary drama too. This starts out as a real tongue-in-cheek story about movie stars. It’s about a reality tv show called “Starbash” that makes fun of movie stars.  Sort of an Enquirer magazine made into a reality show. Of course, since this is fiction, the dirt Starbash has on all the movie stars is made up. On the other hand, isn’t that what Hollywood is like now? Maybe this fiction story isn’t so far from reality.

The characters are portrayed so perfectly; you have your handsome stunt guy who is also the announcer on the show and a babysitter to a former star who has all the money. Then you have female stars and starlets. You have one genuinely nice but maybe a little too quick to judge star. I don’t know whether I’d be hoping I was named to be on the show or not! Some were witchy; some were nice. Some wanted to make it big; some didn’t care. Maybe just another real picture of Hollywood today, huh?

A part of the story is set a little into the future which makes it even more enjoyable to read. You can step right into a scene of a movie you’ve loved all of your life and you can play a part. Interactive movies probably aren’t as far away as we might think. So right in the midst of all this fluff and fun, you take a walk into the future and find maybe this book isn’t quite as much of a fluff story as you thought.

All of that makes this a great read. This author takes you on a roller coaster ride that’s as fun as can be and yet a little scary too. This is a 125-page book that seemed quick to read but absolutely full of twists and turns, some funny; some scary. Certainly well worth my time.

Strange and magical things happen in this story, a tale with mystery, where being on the wrong side can be deadly. Andrew has a shoe repair shop and is approached by some shady guys looking to get him into questionable activities. Andrew rejects their offer, coming across right from the start as a man with integrity. What will happen to him, though? The other characters are drawn well too, if in brief, with just enough being said to create an atmosphere of suspense and worry without overdoing it.

Someone mysterious arrives, and his actions are strange enough to create more questions. On top of that, they’re being watched. By who? What does he want?

Then readers meet the peddler. One can guess that there’s more to him than meets the eye. He has unusual talents and gifted insights. He says intriguing things to a variety of interesting people. The characters all have some kind of trouble, but hope is not lost. With a little bit of mysticism, help is on the way. Watching their predicaments unfold is entertaining. Readers won’t know what to expect because the strange and unknown are likely to happen.

There are good sense details to create the world of the characters, and it is a well-written story, with a smooth flow. Fans of the supernatural who enjoy a bit of light reading where justice is served will probably like this interesting story.

Not every problem comes with an easy solution.

Jeff was a complex and intriguing character. There were times when I was annoyed by his flaws, but that was actually a good thing. He felt like a real person to me because of them. His behavior did have a negative effect on people in certain scenes, but there were other instances where his strengths brought out the best in him. I enjoyed seeing him from so many different angles as he showed off the full range of his personality.

It would have been helpful to have more time spent developing Jeff and Braeden’s relationship. I loved the idea of them as a couple, but there wasn’t quite enough flirtation between the two of them to give me hope that they might end up together. Instead, they danced around the topic for longer than I would have liked to see. If there had been more romance in the plot, I would have chosen a much higher rating than the already good one I picked for this book.

The subplots complemented the main storyline nicely, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much was going on with the characters in this book in general. Not only was Jeff dealing with multiple problems, so were the people he spent the most time with as well. Ms. Huesman balanced out all of their conflicts beautifully, though. The pacing was consistently strong and there was always plenty of space to explain the newest developments in everyone’s lives.

I’d recommend Burning Britely to anyone who has ever seen a bad habit get the best of them.

I get a kick at how thoroughly and quickly the author can grab my attention and never lets go. The first chapter starts with a murder, the two protagonists meet and their lives are in danger and one must save the other in a most unusual fashion.

I can see the precursor to another series that owes its history to the Jones family presented in this book. I have no idea why I love reading about the mystical, the paranormal aspects of men and women and how it shapes their world and in the roles they serve in it. But when Ms. Quick introduces me to characters like Leona and Thaddeus, it’s a thrilling moment. The hero is totally alpha and the heroine is his perfect foil. She has her own skillset but neither knows the total truth about the other until later, much later when the suspense is high and villains abound.

I was fascinated by the Midnight Monster. The author did a splendid job of creating a character that truly earned his moniker. His comeuppance was unexpected and, well, morbidly humorous. I’m a bit twisted because I snorted when it happened. What occurred prior was certainly thrilling and had page flipping action, but that final act, that final choice, I laughed at it. It served him right, of course, but still. Ha!

There were other dastardly villains but as I know from reading many romantic suspense books, the best laid devious plans by criminals that believe that they are untouchable, that they are destined for bigger things, always seem to find out that there’s a much bigger fish in the pond and their teeth are much sharper.

As for the actual romance between Leona and Thaddeus, it was spicy, wonderful fun as I watched them figure each other out while succumbing to their intense passions. I adored the ‘bonding’ and the paranormal connection between them.

I must mention Fog. I think his character was very important to the story. I found it amazing that the author mentioned an historical precedent that made his loyalty to Leona seem to be on another supernatural plane. It was pretty cool. Another stellar moment was Victoria’s new line of focus. I really liked her and she rounded out the family gloriously.

The happy ever after was completed with a stunning revelation and surprise. I never saw it coming and it made the ending so much better and joyous. I felt quite uplifted, happy and satisfied on how Ms. Quick wrapped up all the threads. Well, there is one thread left but its purpose is to guarantee a reader’s captivation with the need to know what happens next. It’s a textbook hook and I’m all in. The Third Circle is a must read.

Book Three of the Professor Prather Mystery Series

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but I guarantee it will not be the last. This is the third book in this series, but can definitely be read as a standalone. Although it was obvious the characters had a relationship, it did not detract from my enjoyment of the book. I have already bought the first two books in the series.

The characters are wonderfully drawn – even the secondary characters. They seem to be real people with their own issues – not perfect, but doing what they need to do. The book is set in a small college town, and I can easily picture everything.

I love cozy mysteries, and this one does not disappoint. Perhaps there were slower moments where I was able to put the book down for a bit, but I was always eager to return and read more. Agatha Christie is one of my very favorite authors, and it was a treat not only reading about how Em teaches about her, but also sees clues in the book she’s teaching to help her solve this crime.

I highly recommend this book…. Well done, Ms. Angela, and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Except Andy and Channing hadn’t been on the same page and so their ménage had blown up before it really got going. This time, Bowie didn’t have a clear plan in mind, but he’s determined to face Channing and reclaim the two men who had broken his heart all those years ago.

This is an interesting and fast-moving short story that I really enjoyed. It feels very much like the first in a two-part story. While Andy isn’t actually present at all in this story his character – the knowledge of him and Andy’s place in this broken threesome – makes me feel very much as if the specter of him is an important part of this story. Channing and Bowie were interesting and colourful characters that I enjoyed seeing come together after a number of years apart. I enjoyed watching them interact now they were both all grown up and determined to take what they both craved so badly.

A part of me was disappointed that Bowie and Channing didn’t go together to include Andy in their renewing the threesome – but I can completely understand why the author left this for the next book. Bowie, Andy and Channing had quite a complicated history and a lot of baggage to work through – so I feel Channing’s story would have been shortchanged had Andy’s been crammed in to this story. And while frustrating – my eagerness for Andy’s tale to be added to this threesome is probably exactly the reaction the author (and publisher!) wants.

The sex is smoking hot and deliciously kinky. Best of all the characters were intense, realistic and I was almost immediately drawn to them and invested in their happiness. This was a quick-paced and interesting story and I am eagerly waiting for the next installment. A lovely, kinky story that I can absolutely recommend.

Social anxiety is something that affects people of all ages, so I loved the fact that this story had so much compassion and understanding for the main character. Scaredy Squirrel explained all of the precautions he’d take before going anywhere new in the opening scene. The nice thing about that description was how matter-of-fact it was. He knew he needed to do these things in order to have enough courage to step out of his comfort zone, and he was completely open about all of the steps he’d take before leaving home every time he went out to make friends. I really liked that about this character.

There was only one small part of this tale that I wish had been written a little differently, and it had to do with Scaredy Squirrel’s original plans to make a new friend. He had such a firm idea of what it was going to be like and who he would be spending time with that I would have enjoyed a little more closure for this original plotline since he talked about it so much in the beginning. With that being said, this was a very minor criticism of something I adored overall.

The character development was wonderful. Social anxiety isn’t something that magically goes away on its own, but there are things that kids and adults can do to reduce its impact on their lives if they’re willing to put some time into it. I was so happy with how this character grew as an individual while at the same time remaining true to himself. It sent such a positive message to anyone who reads this who has similar concerns about meeting new people.

This book is part of a series, but it can be read on its own or out of order.

Scaredy Squirrel Makes a Friend is a must-read for anyone who has ever felt anxious about doing something out of the ordinary.
