Mars versus Venus…Vegas style.

When southern belles gather, chaos reigns. TL’s life has been turned upside down, what with the loss of her job, the elopement of her best friend and the unexpected gathering of her mother and the Belle Rive Belles. The Belles drag an unwilling TL to Vegas, which has unexpected consequences for hotel owner Rafe McBride. Feathers and sparks fly as the non-southern belle and the strong, sardonic Rafe begin their thrust and parry into love.

CONTENT WARNING: Caution: includes an excess of feathers and rhinestones, some seriously dangerous drinks, and a caffeine addicted plant. Oh, and semi-graphic sex.

Why is it that the most messed up heroines have the most fun? T.L. is inundated with her mother and her mother’s friends (collectively known as “The Belles”). In their attempt to rouse her from depression, they help sell her house at a loss, take her to Vegas, help her lose all of her savings, and help find her a job.

And then it gets interesting. Enter Raphel McBride, and then the meddling really starts.

It’s a rollercoaster ride of a romance, filled with the impossible, yet totally believeable situations in which T.L. lands. With the help of Mr. McBride. All because the Belles want to help.

This is a super fast read (maybe a bit too fast), and very enjoyable. The emails to T.L.’s newly eloped friend add a bit of background and help understand what’s going on inside T.L.’s head. (Don’t worry about our hero…you don’t need an email to figure out what’s going on in his head!)

You might want to read this one by yourself. What with the laughter, the groans, and slapping yourself on the forehead, people around you might think they need to start meddling in your life…
