Although this is a sequel, I haven’t read the first story introducing these men. This didn’t prevent me from understanding the story and being able to connect with the characters right away. This story is incredibly short and just a glimpse at these characters but leaves you wanting more. Kale’s blindness is handled deftly and is always included but never overwhelming. Even without reading how these men came to be together, their journey is interesting and engaging and I’m left wanting to read the prequel.
Overall for such a short story, this one is impressive for its intensity and instantly engaging characters. The fast pace will have you wanting to know more about the couple and hoping for future sequels. Readers who aren’t put off by BDSM relationships but also enjoy a mix of formal rules and the connection beyond, should enjoy this series. This is easily read as a stand-alone story but no doubt means more when read in order. I know I’ll be going back to read the first one and I recommend you do as well.
