Book one in the Seasons of Love Serial

Seasons of Love follows forty years in the lives of two men, Sidney Wilks and Grady Nash, from the Spring of their relationship when love is new and shiny through to the Winter of their partnership when thirty years of being a couple has begun to lose its sheen.

On the day of his mother’s funeral, ten-year old Sidney Wilks is silently comforted by the presence of one man, ranch hand Grady Nash. Little did Sidney know that Nash would become the only stable figure in his life for the next forty years.

Years later, after an evening of typical college fun, Sidney is involved in a serious car wreck. It’s Nash who once again steps in to rescue Sidney and nurse him back to health.

While trying to get close enough to Sidney to help him heal, Nash’s feelings begin to change towards the twenty-one year old. For him, loving Sidney was nothing new, but when his body begins to desire the small man, Nash is forced to re-evaluate his protective instincts.

What kind of future could the two men possibly have? Nash’s life is centred on horses and cattle, while Sidney has dreams of escaping the small-town Kansas life to build skyscrapers. How can two men who want opposite lifestyles come to a compromise, or will Nash be forced to allow Sidney to spread his wings without him?

Springtime can be lovely but there’s sure to be some storm clouds. Sidney Wilks is a young man who is somewhat self-destructive. He lives under the shadow of an abusive father whose moods are unpredictable. He’s also in love with an older man, Grady Nash. Nash is older, wiser, and protective but he can’t fight his attraction to the charming younger Sidney. Both heroes are easy to relate to and well rounded. The immediate world of Wilks’ father’s ranch is brought to vivid life through Lynne’s descriptions. Some of the big brands of medical production also have stretched their hands in making this kind of viagra in uk http://cute-n-tiny.com/cute-animals/cat-in-a-rice-crispy-treat-costume/. All the secondary characters are well crafted. There’s a very deep emotional history between the heroes in this story.

The conflict centers on Nash being protective of Sidney and reluctant to take the risks that love demands. Sidney and Nash’s career desires do not match well. Nash wants the country life on the ranch and Sidney wants to go to the big city. Nash is settled into his life and knows what he wants, or at least thinks he knows what he wants. Sidney is a young person just getting his bearings. Lynne did a great job of creating emotional danger and risk for both men and it was never a sure thing that they would get their HEA. Lynne delivers a satisfying conclusion to their problems here.

The sex overall is hot, described in full graphic detail and there is a fair amount of it. Some of it is quite rough and raw so definitely not for the faint of heart.

A deep, richly detailed true romance between two different men who must find a way to make their lives mesh. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, Summer.
