Mai isn’t impressed when she discovers her friend has set her up on a surprise blind date, but a bad date is the least of her worries. She is about to discover that humans aren’t the only predators walking the streets of Toronto. Now, Mai faces two choices—returning to her safe world alone or standing up to not one but two of the most dominant men she has ever met.

Twin werewolves, Vencel and Gaspar, escaped their war-torn homeland and discovered a new home in the wilds of Algonquin Park. They never expected to find their mate in a fragile, human woman. Convincing her of their true natures proves harder than they anticipated, especially now that an old enemy has found them and is threatening to destroy their new home and family.

Agoraphobia has never had such a sexy cure as the one found within the pages of Caress of Fur.

Gaspar and Vencel are brothers who’re mired in a bit of personal dilemma. I found their personalities to be unique to each character. One is smooth and quite intuitive and the other is sort of gruff and rough around the edges. The author spared no expense in choosing words to describe some very yummy males. Their emotions run from hope, despair, amusement, and then when they set their sights on the heroine, Mai, their focus is intense and possessive. In a good way.

Mai is a woman who has spiraled downwards into an emotional abyss and she can’t seem to see a way out. She’s sweet as can be but slow to trust and fearful of the outside world. I liked how the author built up the story until Mai figured out what she needed to cure her panic attacks. Not only does it work but the cure brings with it the promise of untold happiness, a brighter future than she imagined and one heck of a conflict.

Gaspar and Vencel came from a war torn country and hoped to build a permanent life in their new home in Canada. But sometimes bad things follow good people to either drag them down or destroy them. It’s a measure of their moral strength and physical fortitude and also who you know that can make a difference in the right direction. Sometimes that comes with a price and I liked the choice the author had them make. The conflict was just the right amount to spice up the story without taking over.

When Mai finally realizes that Gaspar and Vencel aren’t playing a joke on her, well, not intentionally, but that’s another conflict –she has to make the choice to get beyond her fears and her uncertainty and chose to trust. That journey is very sexy and the author did a nice job of fanning the flames of passion between the characters. It was a bit rocky at times which made for some entertaining reading and it wouldn’t have been as much fun if Mai hadn’t made them work for it. She may have her issues but she’s a smart woman and I liked that.

The secondary characters were a nice touch because they introduced some key plot shifts and revelations. I liked Mai’s best friend and I thought the woman’s husband was terrific too.

Caress of Fur is a delightful and very steamy story sure to entertain paranormal romance readers looking for a quick alpha fix. The story has its humorous moments and I thought it funny that even an alpha can have allergies. What a cute touch. It also has a satisfying happily ever after that appealed to me.

Ms. Davies kept me entertained and interested throughout the story and I’m glad I got to review it.
