Were-creatures of all sorts abound in this tale – including wolves, panthers, jackals, mixed breeds, and a random dragon thrown in for good measure. The world is fascinating, the characters are enjoyable, and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat.

I have to confess that this is the first in the series I’ve read. Even still, I had no issues following the story. Wendy Stone has done an exceptional job of filling the audience in on the back history, and even better, tempting them to take the entire journey by going back and reading what they’ve missed. It’s complex without being overwhelming, which is always nice when coming late into a series. The material is wonderfully written, the sex had me drooling, and the pace is nice and brisk. I loved the protagonists and the supporting cast, and each new twist and turn had me eagerly scrolling through those pages.

If you like shifters, action, and red hot sex, I think you’ll adore A Strange New Breed. I know I did.
