The characters are easy to identify with because they struggle with real life problems. The sexual intensity between the hero and heroine are enough to set the pages of your electronic reading device on fire. However, there were times that the lack of editing brought me out of the story. Hence, my only suggestion would be that in the next Brazen story, Ms. Sawyer has someone to go over her manuscript with a fine tooth comb. Would I recommend this book to a friend? Definitely! In fact, I can’t wait to get my greedy little hands on the next story. Not only am I hooked, but I’m also not ashamed to admit that I need to know what happens with the next Brazen sister, which I’m hoping is going to be Samantha’s story. Two thumbs up to Ms. Sawyer for bringing readers a compelling story about love, life and the hard decisions that everyone has had to face at one time or another.

I found How To Tame a Cougar to be not only a sexy, hot story but one that is hilarious also. I know I’ll be rereading this short again and again. Kudos Ms. Carney for another winner.

So for those of you who have not read Ms. James’ The Family Jewel, you need to finish this review and go purchase it immediately. I’m still smiling as I type this review because of how wonderful The Family Jewel made me feel. The spirit and warmth of the heroine and heroes have the ability to ease whatever troubles you’re struggling with and bring a sense calm, peace, warmth, and love to your heart.

Ms. Brooke has populated her stories with a lovely cast of recurring characters and in Rules of Desire we get an update on the relationships from the first three books. Numerous secondary characters with foreshadowed relationships also make appearances so I hope this means more Desire stories are coming. I hope Ms. Brooke can continue to keep the series as fresh as it has been so far. I wonder if some of the men will explore attractions to one another.

Rules of Desire can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend you read the series in order – no hardship as all of the Desire, Oklahoma books are a pleasure to read. In fact, Rules of Desire has taken its rightful place on my keeper shelf where all of the Desire, Oklahoma books have a home and are re-read. Ms. Brooks has another winner here, and I look forward to many installments to come.

Her sincerity melted his, bringing them to a closeness few understand.

Although I would’ve liked to have seen her be a bit stronger in the clutch, I liked her vulnerability. I liked his straightforwardness. The scene where he touches her with the paintbrushes… whew! You could feel the passion and the love building between them, despite the fact that they refused to believe that they were falling for each other.

The sex scenes are hot beyond belief, but are they all fantasy, and will that fantasy be fulfilled? Did everything happen, or is it all a dream?
