Cory Marcel worked tirelessly over eight grueling years to develop a successful military career. After her commanding officer violently assaulted her, she lost everything—especially her trust in people. Despite the emotional damage threatening to sink her, Cory agrees to accept a new job at a furniture store in Perfect—a job that could offer the fragile brunette the chance to start over.

Ted Lovejoy cofounded Langford & Lovejoy Heritage Furniture, but lately he feels like an outsider in his own business. When he meets Cory, Ted realizes his company can do more than just build furniture—it can also help rebuild lives. He longs to help Cory recover from her pain, yet every time he gets too close to her heart, she pushes him away.

While Cory can’t resist her attraction to Ted, she fears the demons haunting her will drag down both of them. Could this kind, soft-spoken man help her finally bury the past…and unlock a future full of hope and happiness?

A Change of Heart is one of the sweetest, most tender romances I’ve read in quite some time.

Cory was brutalized by her commanding officer while stationed overseas. Instead of keeping quiet about it (which is apparently expected), so brought charges against him in a highly publicized case. And because of it she lost everything.
At this time, if treatment combined with antibiotics show no effect, they could try to take meals four times every day. canadian viagra for sale Nonetheless, it really is significant to operate having a health practitioner in identifying what herbal treatment options may operate to suit your needs; some are not recommended in conjunction canada levitra with other methods of infertility treatments. Now, back living in her mom’s mobile home, feeling like worthless “trailer trash” again, she’s drowning in despair until her lifelong friend, Brenda, comes along and shoves her back out into the world.

I really liked Brenda. She was a hoot and could make Cory do things like only a forever friend could. She truly saved Cory’s life. Along with “Bunny”, Brenda’s brother (and I admit I LOVED that nickname for a big, strong guy) Cory is dragged, kicking and screaming, into the world.

Cory was exceptionally and realistically created. She has to learn how to be human again. How to trust, to allow casual (and less than casual) contact with people, to realize really deep down that the world isn’t out to get her. She knows this in her head, but PTSD doesn’t come from the logical part of a person. Thankfully, she’s plopped down into a group of people who know what she’s going through: the veterans at L&L who’ve gone through similar things themselves.

The odd man out, “not a veteran”, Ted is the love interest for Cory. As much as I absolutely adored Ted–he was everything any woman would want–sometimes he seemed too perfect. Aside from the fact he was not a big, strong alpha male like typically seen in romances (which is good, since Cory would never have been attracted to that type after her experience), he just didn’t seem as if he had any flaws. My first impression of him was when he was talking to several of his employees, all veterans, and he stood with his back to the open door because he knew it made them all nervous, allowing them to keep their backs to the wall. It was interesting to see how well he understood them all since he wasn’t part of the “group”. His only show of being human was his frustration at being called “kid” and the lack of respect afforded him largely due to his relative youth and that he hadn’t served.

A Change of Heart is apparently part of a series, and while I didn’t feel lost, exactly, I could tell I was missing things that might have made this a much richer experience. We have couples, one of whom is expecting their first child, and allusions to the fact that everyone who’s stayed in the carriage house has fallen in love. The story is filled to the brim with secondary characters and I loved that — it’s why I adore choosing small town romances, because of that — but I knew that most of them were probably ones that had been included in the previous books. Again, there is no trouble at all following the story line, but I think you will realize that it’s part of a larger series.

Still, I really enjoyed my time in Perfect. The people were amazing, the story was the kind to make your heart sigh. Watching Ted and Cory fall in love, seeing how incredibly patient Ted was with her as she struggled to be normal again, chuckling over the other characters giving Ted grief, all the while circling their wagons a bit (Cory was warned not to hurt him because he’s such a great guy with a huge heart) … it made me hungry to go back and read the other stories in the series. And I suspect there’s another one coming up …

A Change of Heart is a book I recommend to people looking for a tender, touching romance with plenty of emotion. There are some difficult parts to read when Cory flashes back, and it may be tough for anyone who survived a similar assault to read, but it’s handled well and realistically.

Ms. Longley has done a stellar job with her creation of Perfect and the people who populate the town. I can’t wait for a return visit.

She vowed to protect her heart…

Andie Shayne believes in forever…for everyone else. She has an up-and-coming wedding planning business, and her own failed engagement, to prove it. Now, all Andie wants is to save the date for Seaglass Celebrations becoming a premier destination wedding resort. And making sure the wedding of the summer goes off without a hitch will get her there – despite the arrival of one unexpected guest.

The sexy-as-sin best man…who’s also the ex who broke Andie’s heart.

But with desire reigniting on Turtle Island, Mark realizes he never stopped loving Andie. He wants her; and this time, he’s determined to do it right.

So the title says it all, right? Ex on the Beach. Not so … there is more to this book than meets the eye.

The author has created a main character in Andie Shayne who is both complicated and delightful. She has tried all her life to succeed at SOMETHING. She was left at the altar four years ago; lost her job at the same time, include with that a bad relationship with her mother. It all amounts to quite a burden. Now, she is about to lose her Aunt Ginny’s house due to complications. Who knew floods and hurricanes would interfere with her plans to make money as a destination-wedding venue and pay off the loan? We cheer her determination at making something of her life, while helping others.

Of course, Fate lends a hand and who should show up to the island as best man to the next wedding but her ex – Mark. Yes, the one who left her at the altar. Let us face it; I was expecting fireworks to go off once these two met again.  I was correct. It was impressive to read how quickly she dealt him a blow to both his pride and body.

I could not put this book down. Let us say that I was half-asleep in my bed and had to turn the lights back on and continue reading. Andie was doing everything in her power to deliver the wedding of the bride’s dream to save her Aunt’s house while Mark was doing everything in his power to get Andie back. I just had to find out what else could go wrong and how they were going to achieve their goals.

This is a delightful, emotional and sensitive story of growing up, facing our shortcomings and seeking acceptance. It is a book I am sure I will re-read at some future date and smile while I re-acquaint myself with these flawed and very human characters in their search for their place in life and happiness.

One by one, people are mysteriously disappearing from a small Maine town.

Four months ago, a ruthless murderer killed two people and kidnapped three more, including Danny Sullivan’s sister, who barely escaped. Unfortunately so did the killer, vanishing without a trace into the vast wilderness. When the police fail to find his sister’s captor, Danny returns to Maine to hunt him down.

He begins his search with another survivor, bed and breakfast owner Mandy Brown, but her refusal to cooperate raises Danny’s suspicions. What is the beautiful innkeeper hiding?

Mandy Brown has a secret. But sexy Danny Sullivan, his relentless questions, and the desire that simmers between them threaten to expose the truth. A revelation that puts her family in danger. As more people disappear, it becomes clear the killer is planning another ritual…and that he’s circling in on Mandy.

A murderer stalks the wild woods of Maine. He has set his sights on Mandy Brown, an innkeeper with secrets that may threaten the safety of all she holds dear.

Nathan vanished, leaving Mandy to pick up the pieces, Jed to recover from a nearly fatal wound and Danny to track down the killer’s steps, even if they lead back to a place no one would ever suspect.

Mandy is a woman burdened with the responsibilities of caring for a special needs brother, an ailing mother and running an inn all by herself. She begins to receive threatening messages and photographs in the mail and begins to fear that Nathan has come back. She dare not let anyone get too close, lest Nathan rip what is left of her life to shreds. She holds a secret that could knock the murder case right on its head.

Danny Sullivan is a man on a mission. He is trying to solve the murder of his sister at the hands of Nathan. Not only has he fallen for the pretty innkeeper, he has a score to settle with the murderer of his sister. As strange accidents begin to happen, and he and Mandy are forced together he begins to wonder what dark secrets are hiding in the Maine woods and behind the eyes of the woman he is growing to love.

The mystery and intrigue in Midnight Sacrifice are a catalyst for a brilliant page turning experience. Add in the romance between Danny and Mandy and you have some pretty intense sparks ready to burst into flame. The murderer has someone helping him even as I devoured the pages in search of an answer, author Melinda Leigh didn’t give it away with anything obvious. She had me guessing until the last second and that is something in a mystery novel that I value immensely. Don’t hand it to me on a platter, make me work for it and that was exactly what she did.

Seeing Nathan growing up with the twisted circumstances of his family made him very real and all the more scary. Is there a kind of disease that warps the mind like that until you can’t sleep and it totally degrades the brain into a pile of mush? I don’t know, but wow that was a great story line. Using the Celtic mythology and the re-birth of spring with Beltane and the May Queen ideal was a brilliant use of symbolism.

The romance between Mandy and Danny was fraught with insecurities. Commitment issues, guilt over secrets and shame all played a part in how they reacted to each other. The tension between Jed wanting Mandy and her becoming infatuated with Danny was another element that added spice to the mix. The sexual tension and love scenes were well done. I love characters that aren’t perfect and have the scars to prove it, whether they are physical or have something lying just beneath the surface that they have to tame before they can really see the other person staring back at them in the mirror, let alone someone else. Danny had that big time, and so did Mandy. Each of them had their own demons to slay and that made it much more identifiable and realistic.

I enjoyed the building suspense of this novel. The mystery interwoven with romance and the sheer terror of experiencing what the victims were experiencing at Nathan’s crazed whims were enough to have me bringing this book everywhere I went until the last page was turned with a sigh. I wanted it to last forever and I will be watching for more books by this author.

When I am in the mood for mystery and alluring characters that tug at my heart strings, I will be reaching for another Melinda Leigh. I just hope she writes another one quick!

Successful landscape designer Tania Solares prides herself on living by her own terms, relying on no man to provide for her. But her carefully controlled life takes a turn for the extraordinary when her inquiry into the disappearance of her best friend thrusts her between two warring factions of dragon-shifters. Suddenly Tania’s survival depends on Mac, a newly initiated dragon-warrior who will break every rule to keep her safe.

Now that Tania knows the truth about Dragonkind, returning to her old life is too grave a risk. Ivar, leader of the Razorbacks, plots to decimate the human race, and Tania is just the tool he needs. Despite the danger, Mac cannot deny her a choice: Trade the independence she’s fought so hard to achieve for safety in a magical world, or turn her back on the man she’s grown to love in order to reclaim a freedom that might not last? It is an impossible choice. And yet a sacrifice must be made…

The Nightfuries and Razorbacks are back and neither side is any nicer than they were before. This time the Razorbacks want to capture a high energy female named Tania and use her for breeding and Ivan’s personal pleasure. However, there is one Nightfury who is determined to stop him from doing that and he has friends…

Ms. Callahan has a talent for writing stories with lots of action in them. The world she has created with dragon shapeshifters stays consistent and solid in the books of the series. All the dragons have different talents which makes the story even more interesting. Her romances keep your attention, too.

She makes her main character in this story, Tania, a strong young woman with an independent streak. She tends to stay away from men. That doesn’t work too well when she gets captured by dragons. There are a couple of women at their compound but the rest are all men…

The author weaves a tale of dark and light. The Razorbacks want to control the world. The Nightfuries protect women and fight the Razorbacks. Ms. Callahan makes the wars ugly and with painful cost, as I believe dragon battles would be. With how tough she makes all her characters, you can tell that she was a tomboy in her youth and played hockey with the boys. She doesn’t believe in wimps.

This is the third installment in this series and while each book can stand alone, I have enjoyed reading all the tales. Here’s your chance to see how Tania enters the dragonworld and how she adjusts. I have the feeling the next book will about her younger sister and which Nightfury chooses her, but I could be wrong. I will be watching for the next in the series to find out.

Someone who’s been watching her. Now Rachel must face the fact that the sins of her carefully hidden past have returned to haunt her…

Police Chief Mike O’Connell never had trouble drawing the line between his personal life and his job—until he met Rachel Parker. Mike’s investigation uncovers a shocking number of secrets and suspects. But the stalker’s escalating violence convinces him he doesn’t have much time to sort through it all. Whoever is watching Rachel wants her dead. Mike and Rachel race to untangle a web of deceit and lies that stretches two decades into the past—before her stalker strikes again.

You can go home again, but it doesn’t mean everyone wants you there….She Can Tell starts out with a fast pace and doesn’t stop. With a heroine who fights for what she believes in, a hero that has his own problems, but can’t seem to stay away, this suspenseful read thrills. Are you ready for the ride?

No one knows heartache better than Rachel. She had a successful riding career, until fate stepped in and stripped away her ability. What else can she do but go home and start over? She’s strong willed, but definitely haunted by her past. And her future back home isn’t looking up, either. Between problems with her brother-in-law, keeping her sister safe, and keeping up with her farm, she’s got her hands full. I like this gal. She’s got a good head on her shoulders, and I can’t help but sympathize with her for all she’s lost, and her will to not let it get the best of her.

If you like a hot cop hero, you’re going to like Mike. He’s the chief of police, and he meets Rachel on numerous occasions, considering she is an apparent target for vandalism. His only job is to protect her and keep an eye on the property, but his duties turn a little more personal when he allows his heart to get involved. With a fiery attraction, sizzling sexual tension, the sparks light up from an ember to a full fledged flame.

When you add in the suspense element, it only makes things hotter. A great secondary character that I came to care about is Rachel’s sister. She plays a big role in the story, as some of the bad things involve her. I’m even hoping she gets a story of her own at a later time, because she’s had an impact on me.

As well done as the tension and suspense is, there are a few parts where I found myself skimming because it was a little slow. Not too many places, mind you, but there were a few. The characters are well fleshed out, making them very believable. I’m intrigued by the writings of Ms. Leigh and look forward to more in the future.

Veterinarian Lauren Townsend has good reason for hiding her psychic ability. Not only did her “freakishness” earn her pariah status in the small town where she grew up, it cost her a fiancé and her faith in love. When Lauren foresees a murder—through the killer’s eyes—she traces the victim to a sprawling ranch, never guessing what waits for her…

Cal Taggart’s rugged ranch life doesn’t need any more complications. His stubborn determination cost him his marriage, and now may cost him his livelihood. But then beautiful Lauren enters his corral…with danger close behind. And Cal wants nothing more than to protect her. They can’t deny their intense attraction. Nor do they want to. What begins as a fling with no strings becomes a fight for survival—and for true love.

Breathtaking, Every Breath She Takes touches that mysterious world of premonitions and violent visions that are so strong they cause Lauren Townsend to cross a continent to try to save the life of a person she doesn’t even know—a person she sees being strangled at sunset in her vision.

Lauren, a successful veterinarian, survived the ridicule, embarrassment, endless doctor examinations and tests, and her family’s distress over her being “different”, and even survived the defection of a fiancé. Her violent visions that the doctors labeled “seizures” governed her life but she learned to cope. For some reason she feels compelled to try to prevent a death if possible, even though she knows people will not believe her. When the vision comes, she does as the old detective told her, look with her eyes, then with logic, and finally with her gut—intuition. The body knows the truth before the mind. It’s terrifying but she sees clues and goes from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Alberta, Canada to vacation at the Foothills Guest Ranch. Here her life changes as euphoric lovemaking, near-death experiences, and conflicts that try her soul engulf her.

“Whatever it takes” is Cal Taggert’s mantra. If it takes entertaining dudes to save his ranch then that is what he will do. Economics and weather conditions have put his ranch in peril, but the ex-bull rider has a long range plan for his hard-won ranch and selling out to a greedy, devious neighbor does not figure into the plan. When the lady from back east, a perfect picture of athletic femininity arrives at the ranch, Cal does not feel so grumpy about the “guest ranch” part of his business. She stirs his libido and brings a spark to his eyes and subtle innuendos to his greeting.

Neither Cal or Lauren are in an emotional place in their lives to be looking for commitment, but sex for fun with no strings attached seems attractive to both of them. The foreplay, the love scenes, and the gradual healing for two wounded hearts and souls take the reader on a vicarious experience that ebbs and flows from raging storm intensity to quiet, contented togetherness.

The undercurrent of danger, the watchfulness, the worry, and the sorting out who is really the ‘bad guy’ is ever present. It ranges from uneasiness to a savage battle for life. Norah Wilson keeps the reader turning pages as she sprinkles in clues, hints, and tiny incidents of foreshadowing that intrigue.

The secondary characters demand attention and have a strong influence on how Lauren and Cal cope with their problems. Marlena, Cal’s ex-wife is a character that captivates. Her problems and actions wreak havoc on the best of intentions. Cal’s father is a mystery that unravels bit by piece to create a poignant back story that reveals so much about Cal.

Norah Wilson’s writing style gives the reader adrenaline-pumping danger, world-shattering love scenes, and a look at human nature with all its flaws and foibles. The loyalties, intrigues, and love that reach passed hurts and fears to find a happy-ever-after and hope for the seemingly hopeless make Every Breath She Takes an absorbing romance with mystery and suspense aplenty. Good reading!

SWAT Team Sniper Jasmine “Jazz” Parker can thread the eye of a needle with a bullet. As the only female sniper in the state of Colorado, Jazz is unique–for more than her extraordinary marksmanship skills and cool head. Jazz Parker and her weapon defend the helpless by exacting swift and uncompromising justice. Not bad for the daughter of the town whore.
After growing up on the seedy side of town, Jazz believed when she’d changed her name and her life at fifteen, she’d buried her past. Twelve years later, she even drove away the one man she believed she could love—ex-Army Ranger Luke Montgomery—to protect her secret.

Then, in a fleeting second, the time …

Jazz had an ugly past that she has boxed up in her mind and set aside. She’s now a Jefferson County SWAT team’s only female sniper and has a new name and a new identity. She is making herself a new life. Then things start going wrong…

Jasmine “Jazz” Parker is a very strong female character. The author gives her a lot of inner strength and has made her a cool, focused cop with no soft spots anywhere. So when her past comes back to haunt her, it shakes up who she is but doesn’t change her determination to do her job and protect the people around her.

Ms. Perini also creates a very strong male character. Luke is a war veteran who is now a journalist searching for a big story. She’s attracted to him but has no room for him in her life; especially not if he wants to write about her. The genital is stimulated by using hands, fingers cialis brand online or with any vagina-toys or any household objects. The author takes these two strong but vulnerable characters and sticks them in a life or death situation where they must trust and depend on each other. Ms. Perini also makes them both self-sufficient and hard headed enough that trying to stay alive is secondary to them; they want to catch the killer. They are each trying to protect each other. And just to add a bit more emotional impact to the story, the author adds a child. Luke found out he was a father after he returned from war and he’s just getting used to being one.

This author has the ability to wring your heart out. Both main characters have baggage and Jazz is afraid of love because of her past. As you watch them try to solve the mystery of which person in her past might be in her present, they both share heartache and worries and spend time dancing around the mutual attraction they feel.

The story is a good mystery. I found myself relating to the characters easily. It’s a fast paced story with no let up as Jazz tries to find her enemy and Luke tries to save his daughter. It’ll keep you sitting on the edge of your chair as you read it.

I’m putting my copy in my permanent library. If you enjoy a good suspense/thriller story with a bit of soul searching and romance included, this book is for you.

For example, components as Sian Mao, Heather Zhi sildenafil cipla and Solidilin are proved to help to improve sperm and the sperm quantity. He only agrees to transport this potential bride because he owes the officer his life, and he’s paying back that debt. The female main character is a girl who was sent away to boarding school to learn some manners and be more like a lady. In other words, she was too adventuresome to please her parents; boarding school didn’t help. Ginesse seems born to bad luck. She really needs a protector, but you’ll never convince her of that.

The author takes these two headstrong people and throws them into the middle of the desert alone together on a journey that includes bandits, weather challenges, and scorpions. Ginesse almost drowns. The action is non-stop, which makes the story fun. My favorite part is the fact that the two characters are drawn to each other, but neither desires a relationship. The author uses this conflict to spice up the story with disagreements, misunderstandings, and just general stubbornness on the part of her characters. It works well.

The story is set in the late 1890s and the cross-culture mix of Victorian attitudes and the crude desert life make this tale interesting. Travel is by camel, so the author uses the slowness of travel to enhance the tension between her two characters very effectively.

I had not read anything by this author before, but I’ll be looking for her work now. This book impressed me enough it is going in my personal library. It’s a rollicking good tale with outrageous characters and I recommend it to all.
