This paranormal book was full of surprises that easily captured and held my interest until the very last page.

I’m always delighted to find another sexy shifter story, but this one turned out to have some of everything. The plot was loaded with rich emotion, intrigue and mystery, and steamy passion, and several surprise twists. I liked the main couple and their pain and angst pulled me into the story like no other. Viola had suffered so much and continued to do so throughout the story, but she never let the adversity of her life break her. She was a refreshing change from most of the heroines who I sometimes like at first until they turn into the helpless damsel who has to be saved by her man. Viola had been forced to take care of herself and spurned by everyone in her clan. It made her strong but she still had compassion and forgiveness in her heart. It took me a minute to warm up to Titus because of the way he got off on the wrong foot with Viola. Their relationship was tense and fueled by misunderstandings from the outset. He believed she was cold hearted and acted harshly towards her. Partly because he was attracted to her but felt guilty for wanting another woman after his “true mate” had rejected him. It didn’t take long for him to learn the truth and begin making amends but by then there were complications, secrets revealed and rescues to be made.

All in all this book was well written and the characters were wonderful. It had interesting secondary characters that I realized some were from previous books so that means a series that I had somehow missed. That was good news to me since I am always pleased to discover a great new series to read.

I enjoyed this book and happily recommend it to paranormal readers.

Shelby, a wanna-be sub, hasn’t found a Dom strong enough to push past her need to be in control. Her experiences as a sub have been yawn-inducing. She’s fantasized plenty, though, about Trevor Lawton, one of Dark Haven’s legendary, mouthwateringly firm Doms.

As the stakes get higher at the charity poker match, Dom Trevor Lawton is fascinated by the woman kneeling across the table from him. Problem is, she’s not a good sub. Oh, she tries, and she’s lovely. But she’s not very good at following orders. The woman needs a firm, unyielding hand…his.

Shelby enjoyed her dabbling as a sub in the BDSM lifestyle. A few naughty weekends a year has always been more than enough to satisfy her needs. Master David, a friend of hers for many years, and she share a comfortable, carefree relationship that suits them both. And while they might not be burning up the sheets and Shelby might privately feel she doesn’t get everything she needs from him, they’ve been friends and lovers long enough she doesn’t want to tip their status quo. Master Trevor, however, is everything David is not. Master Trevor is unyielding and seriously strict. Shelby knows she’d never get away with half the antics she does with her friend, David, and after a poker match where she’s the prize, Shelby realizes that Trevor’s far stricter sense of dominance and control might be exactly what she craves.

I found this to be a hot and well written sexual tale. I could really empathise with Shelby. She is a strong, independent woman who likes to dabble in submission and pain. Shelby’s main problem is David is her friend first, and her Master/lover second – so Shelby’s boundaries are never really pushed and anything that gives her even a small level of discomfort is immediately stopped. I also found it interesting how Shelby doesn’t seem – at least initially – to even know for certain whether she’s truly interested in submission or not. She’s so used to “topping from below” that she hasn’t seemed to ever really, truly submit fully at all. Indeed, Shelby hesitated and questioned so many of the commands from Trevor that I really started to wonder myself whether Shelby was truly interested in submitting or just play-acting every now and then. Shelby quickly learned her usual antics wouldn’t wash at all with Trevor.

Personally, I enjoyed the fact this wasn’t what I would classify a “normal” Dom/sub story. A good portion of the plot is Shelby learning and coming to terms with what a “regular” submissive would and should do. Shelby learning about herself, her needs and what she really wants takes up a huge amount of the book. I really liked reading this and found it a refreshing take on the more common Dom/sub story. I could understand, however, that this mightn’t be every readers’ cup of tea, especially since there is the very real question – to my mind at least – on whether Shelby actually is (or wants to be) a submissive at all.

A fun, seriously sexy read that I feel will appeal to many readers. I thoroughly enjoyed the different outlook on a BDSM style story. Hot and enjoyable, I will happily reread this story many times to come.

When Alex accepts an invitation to the Midnight Castle sex club, she is promised pure pleasure. A mysterious, masked lover by the name of Raven makes good on that promise, showing her she belongs in the world of kinky sex with ropes and blindfolds. Night after night, he introduces her to more pleasure. Not only does he make her come with his wonderful hands, he manages to reach in and grasp her heart. He teaches her she can let go of her inhibitions and let her desires guide her.

By day a lost puppy dog with a stutter, James works digging up information for Alex at her law firm. At night, he’s Raven, and he’s terrified Alex will reject him when she learns his true identity. When a threat from Alex’s past comes knocking at her door, James has to reveal his true identity in order to save the woman who holds his heart.

He invited her for a night of pleasure but if he had his way it would be the first night of forever.

Alexandria is a lawyer. In the courtroom, she’s in charge and takes on a lot of stress to see that justice is served. Outside the courtroom, she wants to let go. Really let go. The coveted invitation to Midnight Castle from an admirer couldn’t have come at a better time. There were several things that I picked up on right away that made this scenario a little more realistic. First off, she had some history with a “kinky” sex partner so, she wasn’t accepting the invite with no clue as to what she wanted or expected. Secondly, she didn’t just sign the contract without asking a question or two. With her being a lawyer, that wouldn’t have been true to character.

The story moves back and forth in the first person POV. It wasn’t quite as smooth a transition at times as it could have been but it wasn’t a show stopper, either. The premise was interesting enough that I really wanted to see if they had more than sexual chemistry after the masks came off.

There wasn’t any doubt that they fit well together in the club and since I knew going in exactly who “Raven” was it was also oddly sweet, if kinky sex in a sex club can be called sweet. It was also hot. The author does a really nice job of putting this reader right into the room and up close to all the action going on, lots and lots of interesting action.

While the sex is good, I was happy to notice that there was more to this short story. More to the characters. Alex has a history that’s brought up, most often in her own comparison with her present, but it was James’ back story and scars that rounded this story out to a satisfying conclusion. They both sought peace with their pasts and ultimately found that and more.

Something else that had me curious was to see if James would intentionally reveal himself or accidentally give himself away at the office. There were so many possibilities and directions that the author could have taken it. I won’t say which scenario is correct but the way it works out didn’t disappoint.

Ms. Quinn packed a lot of story into this novella. Almost too much it seemed at times but it was still overall truly enjoyable. I will definitely be searching out other books by this author and readers who enjoy some intrigue and a healthy dose of heat, should give this one a try as well.

Lorna wasn’t looking for romance so soon after leaving her marriage, but chance put Zoe in her way and Lorna doesn’t want to leave her behind. Sharing a car and motel room beds, the two women learn each other’s histories and secrets. Only at the end of the journey will they know if they’ve escaped the past, as it makes its last grabs at both of them.

Into the Sunrise was a quick well written read that to me showed two strangers that met at the opportune time in each others lives. After their meeting they threw caution to the wind and took a risk to leave their life behind and start anew. What reader hasn’t thought about packing their belongs and seeing where the road leads them?

The writing was easy to follow, nothing really complex about the story. If you are a reader that likes a story that is pretty simple and straight forward, this perhaps may be a story that you will enjoy. One thing I like is a book without a lot of characters and this was a book that fit that bill. Zoe Bradshaw worked as a bartender until wild fires displaced her motel and job. And you have Lorna, who recently left her husband of 18 years. However, the characters lacked true compassion, especially Lorna. She left her husband but the way she told him and her son Dominic was just really weird and heartless. If was odd she wouldn’t talk to them but made an effort to check her emails, text and social media at every road stop, and still her heart remained cold with each reply, if she replied to them at all.

Zoe was on the road to track her run away love. She tracked her down but then the plot fell flat. It left me with a question of… so, what was the point?  The sex was not as hot as I’d expected and hoped for. The plot lacked real conflict. I would have liked to have read about some adventure since they were traveling across county. Maybe some twist or surprise element that may have roughed the smoothness. I am all for a happy ending and everyone finding love, but stir in some spice along the way to make the ending that much better…give the character some trials and tribulations to endure.

Still, as I stated before the book was a well written, easy read. I like the idea that the women were brave enough to take a chance to step away from a life that wasn’t pleasing to them to see what else life had to offer them. I think we often fear the unknown and hesitate to step out of our comfort zone, but this is a story that gives any reader a chance to live through these two women. For readers that enjoy a book that is a refreshing getaway, where they can live through the lives of the characters, this is one that I think would fit that type reader. Their chance meeting was what they each needed. It seems they drew strength from each other and their personalities together made them stronger. It’s encouraging to see the two strange women building a relationship of trust and getting to know each other.

While this story may not have been my favorite, the author has a real skill in telling a story so I would definitely give another book by this author a try.

Not everyone can outrun their problems, but this won’t stop Annabell from making a dash for it.

The sex scenes in this tale were absolutely scorching hot. By far the biggest reason why I found them so alluring is that the chemistry between the two main characters was perfect. They were attracted to each other both emotionally and physically, so I couldn’t wait to see what would happen when they took their relationship to the next level. Seeing it all unfold the way it did only made me root harder for them to end up together.

With that being said, the dialogue could have used some more work. Neither one of the characters had a natural speaking style. Both of them said things that I couldn’t imagine anyone saying in the heat of the moment because of how stiffly and formally they talked. This kind of dialogue would have worked in a story set a hundred years in the past. It felt out of place for something that was supposed to be occurring in the present day, though. Annabell’s background definitely explained some of her formality, but there were still times when the way that she talked was distracting to me due to how she described certain activities that were going on between her and Nicole in the bedroom. I was also never quite sure why Nicole spoke as formally as she did since I assume she was raised in a mainstream family.

The subplot added an extra layer of intrigue to the storyline. I especially liked how the author wove it into so many different sections of this book. Briefly bringing this topic up several times before the conclusion made me curious to know how it would be resolved. Separating everything out like this also left plenty of room for the main plot to develop, so I was glad to see it written this way.

I’d recommend Aching for Annabell to anyone who is in the mood for something titillating.

Sleeping Dog, Texas has its share of secrets and the three Lobos brothers own the biggest of them all. They’re werewolves who own a dry cleaning business. But when a woman steps into each man’s life, each with her own badly stained red dress, fantasies will be fulfilled, barriers broken and secrets told.

Werewolf Maximillian Lobos likes his women overripe, luscious and curvy, and spitting-fire passionate. Prim and proper Candi Wagner is so not his type, yet when he discovers she wears chocolate body paint, his testosterone levels careen off the planet.

Trouble is Candi doesn’t understand what being claimed means, doesn’t get that weres mate for life, doesn’t believe weres even exist. Lucky for Max she’s natural sub and he soon has her handled. Or does he?

This book should come with a NSFW (Not safe for work) warning. Hot and delicious only begin to describe it.

Max is the Alpha wolf. He knows it, the reader knows it, heck, most of the town where they’re hiding in plain sight seems to know it even if they don’t know that wolves live among them. People turn to Max when something needs fixing or there’s a problem with a citizen. Is he the mayor? Or Sheriff? No, he owns a dry cleaning business with his two brothers. Huh? Yeah, that was my reaction and yet, it’s kind of perfect. It’s the only business of it’s type in town and therefore he sees everybody, hears all the gossip, stays in the loop and is more prepared to protect his family. And he’s typical alpha hot and bossy but even I’d obey his every command.

Fate really did have a hand in choosing his mate. How else would someone explain how a Bostonian princess find her way to Sleeping Dog, Texas where it just so happens the man/wolf she’s meant for, owns a dry cleaning business? See, it has to be fate…and a little suspended disbelief. But I honestly liked Candi. She’s kind of a doe in the path of big bad wolf when Max finally makes his move but the chemistry sizzles off the page. The author is very talented in writing sexual tension and sexy dialogue. When I said NSFW, seriously, lots of blushing and very distracting.

I know Ms. Carlo has written a lot of other books with paranormal elements and I have to wonder if this trilogy isn’t part of another bigger series. There’s a side story of wedding between two townspeople that just feels like it started somewhere else. Plus, secondary characters who feel like they’re established, like I should already be familiar with their place in town. Cleo and Rosa come to mind. These two old ladies are fixtures and even though they aren’t wolves, they know, or suspect, and they’re in the middle of everything. And very outspoken, and dirty minded, and did I mention outspoken?

This story moves really fast. One minute they’re sealing the deal and the next she’s resolving her backstory with her father, so it may feel rushed. Also, there are some noted inconsistencies. How he could know everything about her, thanks to a PI, but not know what the C in her name stood for? Or how her father just accepts everything Max tells him with only mild irritation. Not to mention the impromptu. Now, that was fast.

And a minor warning, Max partial shifts during sex. By partial I mean, his eyes, nails and tongue change. He fights to stay in control of the wolf and one part I especially enjoyed was when Candi notes that the more out of control he becomes, the more his language reverts to Spanish. It’s really pretty hot. As it is, this story is overall satisfying in spite of the little hiccups. And it ends on good note that also had me laughing out loud more than once. In sympathy, of course.

I’m really looking forward to reading Diego and Antonio’s stories as well as doing some backtracking to see if there are other stories set in and around Sleeping Dog.

This little short had exactly the right elements I was looking for: wolves, fated mates, sexual tension, small town setting and some comedic relief. All rolled together for the beginnings of fantastic trilogy of stories and more.

Farin only ever gets Tuesday nights off, but when his brother has a meeting, Farin ends up taking his nephew to his swimming lesson, where he meets Steve. Despite his best intentions, Farin finds himself throwing caution to the wind and taking a chance on the younger man.

This is an interesting book with a strong sub-plot interweaving the blossoming romance between Farin and Steve. I really enjoyed how this wasn’t just a boy-meets-boy style of story. Steve has the final court meeting and there’s a rampant group of “Heteros for Cedarwood” bigots running around town throwing coffee on gays, graffitting property and generally spouting off hate-filled speeches. I was a little disappointed almost every adult character who wasn’t gay in this book was a hate-filled, anti LGBT idiot, but I understood that the author was trying to show the small town was extremely anti-gay. The strong anti-gay sentiment from so very many random adults (not just the odd one or two here and there) jarred me from the story a number of times and felt a little over the top to me.

I really enjoyed how both Steve and Farin got off on the wrong foot at first. It’s not common for two strangers to meet and instantly be on the same page, to not say something stupid or for them to communicate perfectly with each other. These things take time and understanding, and seeing both Steve and Farin struggle at times was wonderful – it made me all the more happy when they did get on the same page and start to bond together. I also appreciated how the pace of the story wasn’t super-fast. The plot and relationship move steadily along, but it was refreshing that Steve and Farin didn’t just tear each other’s clothes off the moment they started talking. Nor was there a wham-bam style sex scene, but they took their time, talked and shared, getting to know each other. In such an erotic book that slower pace was something I really enjoyed.

The sex is vividly described and steamy hot. I loved the dirty talk, and the quick, hard sex. There’s a little bit of light spanking but overall I didn’t feel anything too over the top sexually was present to put readers off.

A delicious story with plenty of plot, I can heartily recommend this to M/M readers. I found this to be a sexy and fun read.

However, one look at Riley, and he wants her. What he didn’t know, or maybe didn’t want to know, was how important she would become for him.

Hanzi is a guy with an ego. That was my first impression within the first couple of pages. But he also loves his elder sister a lot. Hanzi is two sides of conflicted coin. He has a sweet side and a hard one, which Riley comes to know extremely well.

Riley on the other hand is simply a sweet girl with a father who is probably as dangerous as any criminal Hanzi has dealt with, seeing as he may be doing some illegal stuff. Riley, though she loves her father, would rather stay as far away from him as possible. When Riley first sees Hanzi, her womanly parts wake up. I’m not sure it’s love at first sight or lust at first sight but, in the end they do fall in love.

This was an up and down book. Meaning there were parts that was interesting while other parts that totally put me off. Like he is sweet and caring towards her at times and then he intentionally or unintentionally hurts her. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I can owe that to the fact that Hanzi has always had one night stands, not real girlfriends.

I do think Hanzi could have been characterized a little bit better. He needed a little more depth to be true hero material. Otherwise it has a good plot and flows well. Ms. Fallen is a very descriptive writer and helped bring the story to life.

Readers who like bad-boy redemption stories should give this one a try.

This is a sexy, hot read that I found to be page-turning. I love the idea of a sex club where all tastes are catered to and people can act out their various fantasies. I was a little dubious at first whether Martin was maybe a little too jaded for Carolyn, but I was delighted to find myself proven wrong. I was a bit sad to find Carolyn suffered from one of the romance heroine cliché’s – that of the virgin instantly turning into a nymphomaniac – but I have to admit with a stud like Martin it would be hard for any girl to keep her hands to herself. I was also slightly disappointed at Carolyn’s attack of nerves when the relationship started to turn serious. I felt that a strong female character willing to go to a sex club to meet a man and lose her virginity was nowhere to be found when it came to having an adult relationship outside the safety of the club walls. I understood her fears and felt the author did an excellent job of explaining her mindset, but that didn’t stop me wanting to shake some sense into her.

I did, however, love the chemistry between Martin and Carolyn – and I loved Martin’s parents, his mother especially. The sex scenes were deliciously erotic and full of sizzle. I also found the ending deeply satisfying as a romance reader. I’d particularly recommend this book for readers who love to get lost in the fantasy, where anything is possible and even a shy, brainy girl can hook the sexy, swarthy hero. A fun and sexy romp I greatly enjoyed.

If you love erotic romance with a side of mystery, this might be the book for you.

It’s a ménage with a very suspenseful mystery. I found the story portrayed the characters very well and the writing was good enough that it plunged me into their world enough to fall in love with the characters.

The plot and the characters shone through and that is sometimes difficult for me to say about an erotic novel. Why? In many books, the erotic writing and the sex scenes tend to overshadow everything, but in Strength of Arms there was passion, chemistry and sex that worked and a strong story. The main plot offset the amount of heat that these three characters gave off and it was a good balance.

Strength of Arms is perfect for readers who love erotic stories with a little bit of something else as well.
