In a world where gods and demons walk the earth, a pirate attack on a seaside village tears Luna away from the safe life she has known. Thrust on a perilous journey, she is accompanied by a reluctant companion. Dario, a bloodthirsty demon, is tasked with keeping her safe and he is dedicated to his job, but how can he prevail when he is the one person that can hurt her the most?

Forced together against their wills, their attraction and mutual admiration grow with each hurdle they overcome. Although their relationship is forbidden, the strength of their desire just might override all obstacles, including their pasts and the dark forces that conspire against them.

I really enjoyed Saved by the Demon by Ela Stein. It was an original, lightly erotic, romantic-adventure.

Ms. Stein’s writing flowed easily so that I quickly immersed myself into the Steampunk-fantasy world she created. Furthermore, her descriptions were vivid, so that I truly felt as if I were there with the characters.

The two main characters, Luna and Dario, are well rounded, with different, yet similar pasts full of conflict.

Luna, the main character, was a bit naive at times, but made up for it with a good dose of bravery and inner strength.

Dario, on the other side, has a dark side to him, but he is nothing short of sweet. His struggles between what his mind dictates him compared to his heart (and body), made me fall in love with him. He is a true gentleman.

Although, Saved by the Demon is a long novel, Ms. Stein was capable of building the anticipation between the characters. As a matter a fact,, one of my favorite scenes is when Luna and Dario finally share their first kiss. It’s worth mentioning, that when sex does occur it is a mix between oh-so-hot and sweet.

This is such an amazing world that I will be on the lookout in case Ms. Stein decides to revisit it, as the ending left me feeling as if there could be a promise of more adventures to come.

Obsessive enemies, ex-lovers and poisoned espresso do nothing to make Marc and Dillon’s trip to Italy relaxing. In fact, they’ll be lucky if they survive at all.

Dillon and Marc haven’t been together long, but Dillon certainly feels as if he’s learned a lot in the short time. Like Assassins aren’t just things that occur in the movies and a few short sentences can utterly turn his world upside down. When Marc calls and says Dillon is in danger, Dillon drops everything to run. Meeting Marc in Paris, Dillon discovers nowhere is safe while Julio is determined to kill them both. Can they find safety somewhere? And can Dillon convince Marc to trust him with his heart?

Disengage your brain, grab some cookies and a good drink and relax into this fun and action packed assassin story. I found this lovely story to be part James Bond, part Jason Bourne and part comedy. A few months ago Dillon was just your regular guy. Now he’s running away from deceptively normal looking people who are secretly assassins and trying to kill him and Marc – Dillon’s assassin lover. I realised in the first chapter this was one of those wonderful books where you need to throw logic out the window and leave your brain behind at the door – if my assassin-lover told me to drop everything and run and trust no one, I’d have not then gone and made friends with the little old lady sitting next to me on the train! But just like I don’t want a James Bond film for the intricate plot or deep intelligence, neither would I have found this book half as wonderful had it not been so lighthearted, fun and fast paced.

Despite the fact I realised a little too late this is the second book in a series, the author does an amazing job of catching the reader up on what’s been missed. Dillon and Marc might get together in the first book – but here in the second they’re really exploring their new relationship, bumps and all. Marc – being an assassin – has a few gaps when it comes to Relationships 101, and Dillon sometimes struggles to both understand what Marc means when he says, but also what he leaves unsaid. Marc is a clear “actions speak louder than words” guy, but that doesn’t mean Dillion doesn’t need to hear the words as well. It’s an interesting – and very common – relationship problem and was lovely and realistic to read.

Watching these two men come together, learn about each other and grow together is lovely. I also really enjoyed the plot of how to save themselves from Julio unwound. I felt the pace of the book moved well and I really enjoyed the balance between plot and steamy romance.

A sexy romp of a story, I really enjoyed this book. I’d happily look up any future books and definitely recommend it.

That is the one word that would sum up my experience reading the book. And the experience is not a bad one. Just one that was the complete opposite of what I thought it would be like.

I chose the book based on the blurb but the moment I started reading it, I realized that there was so much more going on in this book. Very nice surprise!

Brad and Jayla are enemies. Plain and simple. Brad has worked hard at totally avoiding his enemy and then they meet for the first time, they realize that their enemy is also their mate. How can they be both enemies and mates? The author just showed me how and I couldn’t have been more pleased.

The beginning was surprising because it started with showing their feelings for each other. And then them finding out about their mates and how their relationship changed after that. My thoughts before I read this book was that when they found out that they were each other’s mate, they would instantly fall in love and start liking each other. That was not the case for Brad and Jayla. That would have been too easy for a couple of people who actively despised the other sight unseen.

Enemies become mates/lovers who grow to be friends. It was a powerful story with two strong characters who ultimately complement the other as mates are meant to do. The secondary characters added to the story as well bringing some truly funny moments to what could have otherwise been a darker tale. Readers who enjoy a steamy paranormal with fated mates need to give this one a read. Very enjoyable.

They make sure they make enough memories to last a lifetime, since there’s no future for them outside the Fantasy Suite…or is there?

A whirlwind marriage ends in a whirlwind divorce, so Samantha heads to the hills of Colorado to find some peace and make a plan for life after a loveless marriage. A few nights in the Fantasy Suite of an exclusive hideaway with a man who more than knows his way around a woman’s body is just what the doctor ordered.

And apparently the doctor ordered lots of sex. When Samantha decides to give into Frisco’s charm, it’s no holds barred. She needs the boost to her self esteem and Frisco is just the gigolo to give her enough boosts to last a good long time.

I was curious, though, the way he spoke to her and the time he spent with her, it didn’t seem like just a paid companion kind of weekend. He’s very personal and I could feel a bond forming between them so all the sex didn’t just feel like sex, it felt like a beginning. But…he’s a gigolo, he professionally dates lots of women.

I couldn’t wait to see how the author worked it out. Talk about your slick twist endings, this one was good! Very satisfying and seriously made me want to re-read the whole story to catch the subtle clues. Since the story is told in first person from Samantha’s POV, the unexpected ending made more sense. The surprise wouldn’t have been there if I had known Frisco’s thoughts and motivations.

The resort Samantha goes to is really fascinating as well. I hope Ms. Clark writes additional stories set around the amazing and super hospitable Fini. Between the super sexy owner, Blake, the clever Aussie masseuse, Erika, Joshua the bartender, and the rest of the staff, plus all the visitors, there’s plenty of new stories still to be told.

Fini may be where people go when their loves lives end in heartbreak but it’s also the place for new beginnings and this is one reader who hopes that this is the beginning of a new and exciting new series. An easy recommend.

Cara Gentry has no problem walking away from her cheating boyfriend. The tricky part is navigating a mountain road in Montana during a winter storm. When her car winds up in a snowdrift she finds herself in need of rescuing. Fortunately there is a sexy cowboy named Royce close by to lend a hand.

Royce isn’t sure what to think of this delicate woman from the south. She’s sweet and sassy and everything a rancher like him should avoid in a woman. But to Royce, Cara seems like exactly the change of pace he’s been looking for.

It will take compromise, bravery, and maybe a few frozen peaches for this Christmas wish to come true.

One wrong turn in a Montana blizzard leads Cara to the love she had only dreamed about.

Just one of the reasons I enjoy picking up a book by Kaitlin Maitland is that she writes the romantic knight in shining armor rides to the rescue kind of stories that women dream about. They may seem a little convenient and fantastic but that’s part of the appeal. How amazing would it be to be rescued by a gorgeous cowboy on horseback in a snowstorm, be taken back to his cabin and have the most incredible night of your life…and that not be the end of the story?

The second thing I can count on from Ms. Maitland is that the sex is going to be scorching hot! That first scene in front of the huge fireplace was incendiary! That’s only one of many, many scenes. I also loved the scene where Cara arrives back at the ranch. She and Royce see each other for the first time after having been apart. Talk about a happy reunion.

The characters were good. Like Royce, Cara comes from a wealthy family that has expectations. I think having common backgrounds made them more believable as a couple. They have lots of sexual chemistry but it was good to see that they were able to connect on other levels as well.

The story flows pretty smoothly and the author has a good grasp on families. I was curious about Royce’s mother, though. To have so much love in her family, that’s one unhappy woman. There’s an epilogue that ties a pretty bow on Royce and Cara’s future but it doesn’t give any indication of his mother ever reconciling herself to his choice.

Readers looking for a hot holiday story on a cold night should give this book and this author a try. If dreams really do come true, Ms. Maitland knows how to put it in story form. Very enjoyable!

Ben is a sweet guy but he’s kind of in a rut. Life is good, it’s just not eventful. It’s about to get real eventful, though. And it all began with a mystery gift.

This was such a thoughtful holiday story. The ongoing mystery gifts were intriguing but it really hooked me after I met John. He’s like a sexier version of Buddy the Elf from the movie Elf. My daughter would say he was adorkable. Besides being seriously wild about Christmas he alludes to the fact that he’s known Ben for a long time and that they were meant to be together. I appreciated that author had Ben be a little apprehensive, John sounds a bit stalkerish loony but there was just something about him that Ben couldn’t write off. Me either for that matter. I needed to know who he was and why he was so sweetly persistent.

I’m not sure what I was expecting but when John explains their connection, it definitely didn’t garner the response from Ben that he expected. This little short story has a lot of layers. It starts out kind of whimsical but Ben turns out to be more complex of a character than he first appeared. Lucky for him he has a best friend like Karen. She was a fun character because she was plain spoken, especially with Ben, but she was also insightful. Ben needed her to help him see past…his past.

This isn’t the fluffy light-hearted holiday romp I assumed it would be when I picked up. It has plenty of light and silly moments but there’s a whole lot of story under the fluff. It has two characters who shared childhood experiences without ever meeting one another until they were adults. The resolution to the story is well thought out and satisfying that Ben and John will be together for many, many more Christmas holidays done right.

There’s a reason enforcers are considered too deadly to love.

The Enforcer was yet another outstanding entry in Kele Moon’s Untamed Hearts series. The best part is that this amazing story is just the beginning of Tino and Brianna’s tumultuous journey. I spent most of the story being devestated by the ugliness that happened to Tino. The raw emotion of this book made it impossible to put down and had me already craving the next book.

This book took the readers back to a heartwrenching beginning for Nova and Tino Moretti. The perfectly layered story made it easy to understand the hardened but damaged Moretti brothers that we’ve come to know throughout this series. It’s hard for me to decribe how much this book has touched me but I can say that I cried my way through a box of tissues at one point. It broke my heart at some of the horrible things that happened to Tino. The author had hinted at them. I had my suspicions and still this book took me by surprise. Tino’s journey was clearly too complicated for only one book. So Tino gets two books as the author weaves a gritty and complex odyssey for him. The Enforcer is a spellbinding story of tragedy, betrayal, hardships, loyalty and love.

As usual, Kele Moon did a fabulous job on this book. It is an amazingly beautiful and emotional journey that will haunt this reader for quite a while. At least until the second part of Tino and Brianna’s story is released and I can truly enjoy their happy ever after ending.

What an awesome job to have, a personal shopper. I can see where it would take someone who could think on their feet and know the layout and inventory of a large department store, to make the job successful. Isabelle fit the bill. She seemed cultured, had traveled some and knew how to speak to affluent clients. She didn’t seem the type to try and entice her male clientele but the insta-lust between her and Mr. Johnson went from zero to sixty in less than ten seconds.

I got the impression that Bailey might be Dom. He was totally turned on when Isabelle was kneeling before him in the shoe department as well has helping him try on dress coats. And then there was the whole “I need to purchase a corset or three”.

At one point, I did ask myself if this store had security cameras. If so, whoever was in charge of watching those monitors was getting an eye full. It was hot, I particularly enjoyed the bedding department scene, but pretty tame right up until they reached the top floor, lingerie. There’s a buildup of the tension that starts the moment he steps out of his limo and it literally culminates on the top floor. The only thing that really pulled me out of the moment is that the author continued to refer to the hero as “Mr. Johnson”. I guess it could have been to keep him in the position of a dominant in the minds of readers but I think I was expecting more intimate dialogue by the time he’s been released to act on their attraction.

There was a point where I had to decide to suspend disbelief and simply enjoy the hot moment with them. It’s fantasy short story all about how amazing it would be for someone in Isabella’s position to meet someone as intense and sexy as Mr. Johnson. I enjoyed it for what it was.

This story is an HFN with plenty of potential for a HEA if they take time to get to know each other outside the bedroom. I could see this story being extended to include both more real time and more play time.

For readers short on time but looking for some lovely sexy dream fuel, this should fit the bill.

Sometimes getting your tail kicked is the best way to get your eyes opened to what’s right in front of you. It worked for Zander, anyway.

This is the fifth book in the Vampire Territory series. I haven’t read the others but the author gave enough backstory to understand what was going on without it being an info dump weighing down this story. I picked up on the fact that what had been a seemingly happy triad was down to a struggling duo and one of those two, Zander, was carrying the weight of guilt for the loss, or betrayal, of their third.

I liked both Zander and Maribeth just fine when I first met them. I could feel that something was off or missing and that neither of them knew how to fix it. When they get the idea to seduce Graham, that’s when their relationship really got interesting. Graham is big-ole-teddy-bear vampire, honorable and precious and he’s obviously attracted to Maribeth. I have to wonder if he was already attracted to her before Drew’s betrayal and just didn’t act on it? I bet there were clues in the prior books.

The seduction, oh man! These two aren’t subtle. Graham didn’t know what hit him but he didn’t seem to mind, either. At the same time, I appreciated the fact that he didn’t accept their invitation lightly. While there is some light MM touching and interaction, there isn’t MM intercourse in this book. Graham says he isn’t interested in “back door” action but Zander seems pretty persuasive. I’m betting it happened at some point. I’ll just have to use my imagination.

The underlying story in these books is the human Rebels vs. the good vampires vs. the evil vampires. There are several skirmishes as well as bigger battle scenes. The author did a good job of making me like the band of vampires that Zander and Graham belonged to. The Rebels seem to be misguided and maybe even being led to hate the vampires even more as part of a bigger plot. There is some closure to part of the story in this book but it isn’t finished by far. The sad truth is that there’s always casualties in war. That part made me sad. Poor Rivers.

There are appearances from many of the couples that made up the prior books, I looked them up, as well as some still single vampires that sound very interesting. I’d like to read Kody’s story. He just sounds like a charming and yet smart-alecky brat. I love seeing those types get tamed.

Readers in the mood for a good vampire paranormal should check into this series. It’s a little dark because of the war going on but there’s some light moments as well, plus the love and of course the sex. That’s good, too. I’ll be watching to see if Kody does get a book as well as Rivers. I want her to be happy again.

Santa’s little brother has woken from a very, very long winter’s nap and the world he knew has moved on. The magic is missing or maybe just buried, except in one small Pacific Northwest town that draws not only the Krampus but a young lady who is more than the meets the eye. She just doesn’t know it, yet. It also draws other curious fey creatures, all looking for the same thing. Belonging.

I first heard of the Krampus when it hit the theater. I wasn’t sure I wanted to see the movie but then I started seeing the theme in books. He’s an interesting character. Not really good. Not really bad. He has a “punish the wicked and steal the children” type reputation but it only mostly matches reality. I found the explanation of why he does what he does very interesting. The author painted this character, Vilhelm or Vil in this story, as a type of anti-hero but he piqued my interest, more so than the others but then I kept reading to see how their story would mesh and play out. Vil was just full of surprises to say the least.

As an aside, if you have idealistically sweet images of Santa always being good and jolly, this may not be the book for you. Personally, I thought it was a clever twist on Ole St Nick. Everybody has to have a way to let off some steam. He just happens to have a talented hand with a whip and the ladies. The author only gives a sample of Santa’s kink from a distance but I wouldn’t mind reading that story, especially if he finds the one.

The story comes together pretty smoothly and didn’t feel rushed. If anything, I wanted to get to the part where Vil makes a place for himself in Wren and Rowan’s lives quicker. But it turned out that he didn’t have “make” a place, he fit into their lives, completed them really. That part was both sweet and sexy. While there is some MM kissing and caressing, there’s no intercourse. Also, while Wren gets to sample both men, it’s separately as opposed to a single MMF or even MFM event. I have to believe that they probably got around to that but just not in this story.

Something sinister is sleeping in this fictional town but I get the feeling it won’t stay asleep. This story felt like the beginning of something. I’d like to see where the author could take it and what other not so mythical individuals make appearances. Jack Frost perhaps? Like the witch hurnters who set up camp outside Wren’s home, I’ll be keeping watch to see what, if anything, comes next.
