Kensington always picks authors who write a good story and make you care about their characters.

This author gives you plenty of challenges in finding the bad guy. There’s a variety of shady deals. Her lawyer has documents she hasn’t seen before that give her some clues. She tries to work with the police chief but he doesn’t want her involved in the case. He’s afraid the killer might come after her.

In with all these problems, another woman is suing to get the cat she got from her mother-in-law. It seems that there was a trust fund for the cat and a place to live to care for him. She didn’t get any of that money, her ex kept it, but his last girlfriend wants it…

Ms. Goldstein dishes out clues slowly, gives you a lot of variables to consider, and there’s plenty of tension. The best part is that no one surfaces as the murderer until the very end and the reveal is most unexpected. It’s a very suspenseful story.

This is a great story with emotional depth and struggle. It starts out delving readers right into an angsty, poignant situation. A love-struck man is searching for his wife and finds her, but she feels unworthy of him. One has to wonder why. Curiosity is stoked right from the start.

Rivie is a complex character, and the author has done a great job at making Rivie’s inner torment real. She has layers of tender feelings and a secretive past. She is so sad, readers will deeply sympathize with how injured she is, and her secret creates great suspense.

Sean is an interesting character as well, her opposite, and he has strong feelings for her. He is a bit assertive with his feelings, but she really enjoys it and finds comfort in his arms. Rivie and Sean marry fast, after a whirlwind romance. They are happy, but Rivie’s past interferes, and she leaves him.

The suspense deepens. Just what about her past is tearing her up so badly and causes her to leave a man she has fallen in love with?

Rivie’s musical partner, Rand, has his own secrets. He makes a good counterpoint to her. The wise brother figure, his interaction with the couple makes for some interesting situations.

Sean wants to make things work and asks for six months, but Rivie is really messed up inside. Readers are likely to root for him. He can only win if Rivie finds some personal healing, so his win would mean hers, as well. At times, there are possibilities of confusion for the reader, but nothing too distracting.

This is a real page turner, an emotional story filled with painful love, and an injured woman’s journey to peace and happiness. The author has done well with capturing this journey.

Most days, Ruby Sparks feels like the sign that says “Tarot Card Reader Extraordinaire” should say “Tarot Card Reader Fairly Competent.” But as challenging as it is to take care of her half-sister’s New Age shop—and her growing menagerie of enchanted pets—Ruby never worries that she’s bitten off more than she can chew…until a customer wants her to divine the truth about a murder.

When her own life is threatened with a double dose of danger, Ruby begins to wonder if she’s being played for a fool. Luckily, she has Ophelia and Brandon—sibling black cats with a talent for tarot—and a feisty pit bull friend who all lend a paw in collaring the culprit before Ruby finds herself taking her final cat nap.

Abandoned and alone after their owner drowned, sibling felines Ophelia and Brandon are separated. When tarot reader Ruby Sparks walks into the shelter that day and discovers Ophelia, she has no idea what is about to enter her life. Her biggest worry is whether her half-sister will allow her to keep the cat when she returns. Little does she know that one cat will turn into two, and those two cats will lead her to murder.

Ruby Sparks is a great character. She’s both confident and not, knowing that she has the talent to read the cards but also knowing she’s not as skilled as her half-sister. This endeared her to me because she knew where she needed to improve and strove to do just that. Her love for her pit bull, Zuki, as well as her adopted cats, and even the roosters she saved from sacrifice, only made me like her more. Ruby is well-rounded and likable – the kind of person I would want as my friend. And if I were ever murdered? I’d hope she and her menagerie would help solve my case, too.

As for the animals, Ophelia was a bit overbearing at times, always thinking she had the answers. However, knowing how much she and Brandon loved the woman who had raised them from kittens, it’s understandable why she’d be so determined to solve her murder. Zuki was probably my favorite of the animals simply because she tried to be the voice of reason while also helping the cats do what needed to be done.

Fool’s Moon combines two of my favorite things into one cozy mystery: cats and tarot. I’m honestly a sucker for anything dealing with animals, kitties especially, but the addition of a tarot reading main character and I was hooked. I knew I had to read this book and I am so happy that I did. It was interesting to watch the investigation unfold as the animals helped guide Ruby to the truth. I appreciated that Ruby wasn’t made to seem incapable of making the connections herself, as can happen at times in cozies involving animal sleuths. Instead, Ophelia and her crew help lead Ruby towards the conclusions she already suspects. Although it took a little while to get to the actual mystery, Fool’s Moon was worth the wait.

Is it possible to find the heart’s home twice in a lifetime?

Six years ago, Sawyer Burroughs’s life fell apart. His soul mate and husband of four years died of cancer, and he fell into depression… and a bottle. It’s taken six years, but he’s turned his life around and is ready to start again on the other side of the country.

But the future arrived a look at this pharmacy shop cialis generic cipla long time ago, and men who need ED drugs delivered dependably and discretely are now going the online ordering route. Normally, an erection expands the elastic tissue tadalafil cost of some part of the penis.
In his new apartment, he’s welcomed by his young and carefree neighbor, Derek, from across the hall. Derek is eager to make Sawyer feel welcome and even offers him a place to stay when Sawyer arrives ahead of his furniture. The upstairs neighbors are just as friendly, and soon Sawyer finds a place with the friends-with-benefits threesome. He’s not the shy, vanilla lover they think he is, though, and he’s hiding more than a pair of nipple rings. As it happens, the guys have kinky secrets of their own, but for four men to make a BDSM relationship last, they’ll have to figure some things out.

Years after the death of his partner, Sawyer decides it’s time to start fresh somewhere else. He sells everything possible and moves half way across the country. He’d moved into an enormous old house that had been divided into four smaller apartments. His neighbors were friendly and even though Sawyer found himself shy in his new surroundings, Derek, Ben and Luke were all great guys and more than open to sharing some sexy pleasure. Can Sawyer find himself a real home for the second time?

This is a seriously smoking hot story. I love how the foursome seemed to come across as being quite natural – despite the complexities of the inner-workings of the relationship. While Derek and Sawyer definitely start off having their own chemistry I loved how it was clear Luke and Ben were certainly interested in Sawyer for his own merits and the somewhat casual threesome of Derek/Luke/Ben didn’t get rocked at all with the addition of Sawyer into their home and relationship. I feel this is definitely proof of the author’s excellent writing – as the whole situation didn’t come across as strange or stilted to me. It was easy, emotional and the chemistry and connections were definitely there and I personally found the whole thing completely believable.

While a story like this could have turned out to be totally about the sexy shenanigans going on between the four kinky boys living in the large house, I really loved how each character was shown to us and as a reader I could really get to know them. While there is absolutely plenty of fun, lighthearted – and kinky – sex going around, there’s delicious aspects of the men talking and getting to know each other, going about regular daily lives and doing things outside the bedroom. I felt this really lent a good balance to the story as a whole and made each man about more than just the sex and physical connection between them. While the plot *is* Derek, Ben, Luke and Sawyer all getting to know each other and working on their foursome relationship, there were plenty of chats, fun times and eating pizza together. They had that relationship and connection outside the bedroom as well as inside.

Sweet, sexy, hot and kinky, this is a great full length story and one I really enjoyed. The BDSM was strongly present throughout the story but not over the top. I loved how even though the characters were all at different stages (and needed different levels) of the BDSM lifestyle their love and affection for each other let them all share between themselves and support and help one another. Even with the complexities of their relationship/s and different levels of need this gave the overall story a really strongly romantic and warm feeling to my mind.

Sexy, spicy, fun and filled with laughter this was a really lovely full length story that I greatly enjoyed. I feel it would appeal to a wide range of readers and is absolutely worth checking out.

A peculiar explorer and downtrodden acrobat span the globe on a building-sized hot air balloon, in search of a precious artifact and the murderous treasure hunter who seeks it.

WINNER: Pinnacle Book Achievement Award – Summer 2018 – Best Adventure

Beatrix, a spirited but abused acrobat in a traveling circus, seeks more than her prison-like employment offers. More than anything, she wants to know her place in the world of the halcyon 19th century, a time when the last dark corners of the map were being sketched out and travel still possessed a kind of magic.

One night in Switzerland, the mysterious Colonel James Bacchus attends Beatrix’s show. This larger-than-life English gentleman, reputed to have a voracious appetite for female conquests, is most notable for traveling the world in a four-story hot air balloon called The Ox.

Beatrix, feeling the Colonel may have the answers to her problems, pledges to help him catch the criminal he seeks in exchange for passage on his magnificent balloon.

The criminal seeks a precious figurine, The Blue Star Sphinx, but he’s not alone. The Sphinx’s immense value has also drawn the attention of the world’s most deadly treasure hunters. A murder in Antwerp begins a path of mystery that leads all the way to the most isolated island on Earth.

What dangers await the Colonel and the acrobat?

Beatrix is an orphan who works as a trapeze artist in the circus. She performs over bare ground to make it more dangerous. Her boss uses a whip to punish any employee that acts out or gets mouthy. She gets her fair share of correction because she talks back to him. But one night she sees an Englishman at the show and finds out he rides around in a hot air balloon. She likes the trapeze because it reminds her of flying. Imagine what it would be like to ride in a hot air balloon!

Beatrix begs to ride on the hot air balloon. She wants to escape the circus. The Colonel refuses but when she offers to help him find the criminal he’s hunting he finally decides he’ll take her. He doesn’t intend to keep her long.

It’s a four-story hot air balloon. He soon teaches her how to fly and manipulate the balloon. She’s not real good at it, but she learns to stay afloat. The only thing she doesn’t like about the Colonel is that he’s a womanizer. Every time they stop somewhere he’s out looking for a woman.

She meets the other members of his team and they all become friends. They’re looking for the mysterious Christopher and he’s hard to find. Bee doesn’t know but the Colonel has more secrets. It’s a good thing she had acrobat training. It’s the only thing that keeps her alive…

Mr. Canning writes a very good story. It starts with a fast pace and that lasts the whole story. There’s plenty of danger, lots of excitement, and two unlikely characters become a team. There’s not a boring part in this story. The story flows well and you almost think you’re losing a character or two but not to worry. It ends unusually but happily.

Freya and Slater are a bit different than what I usually read. For example, though Slater has a fully fledged successful career, but he is also a prospect. For readers who have not read an MC book before, prospects are basically assistants or interns of the MC world. That in itself is not the usual part. Freya’s father is a neurologist and she had wanted to do the same thing. These folks were successful in their own right, so seeing them as part of the MC was different.

However, their relationship smolders. It is there in the background but it is not the main theme or topic. Unlike some erotic books I have read I liked reading this a lot more because it was not constant sex. I could see the relationship build in the small things he does and doesn’t do.

The thing I disliked was that it took a lot longer than I thought to get through the first half of the book as it dragged a bit. That being said the ending was well worth the time it took.

This is a part of a series which could be read as a stand-alone. I recommend this to any reader who wants a bit of the erotic but does not want it to overpower the story.

Jacob has led a difficult life, born of a Comanche mother and a cavalry soldier. He serves as a cavalry scout with bravery and integrity, wanting to follow in his father’s footsteps. But when a commission in the Army is within his grasp, he learns there is something more important than ambition—his growing love for Ruth.
Discouraged and grieving, Ruth turns Jacob away to start a new life in the East. She has an important lesson to learn before she can love again—the lesson of forgiveness. Can Ruth forgive all the pain and sorrow she’s suffered and open her heart to Jacob and his forever-after kind of love?

Can one forgive after suffering so much heartache? Ruth MacDonald lost her family and was later held captive by the Comanche tribe for two years. Later she was deceived by those she thought had her best interest at heart. She knows heartache very well.

This is a short novel but covers a lot. This story is about forgiveness, using caution when wanting to love and trust again but it also touches on a tough topic. Ruth is judged because she was held captive and is pregnant by a warrior of the Comanche tribe. Jacob Wells is a U.S. Cavalry scout that is looked upon as being beneath the other Army member’s because of his mixed race. Both had something in common and grew from that. They couldn’t help how they were formed or being held captive but they didn’t let that make them bitter. Their time spent together and the growth of their relationship help lighten the heaviness of the story. Their relationship brought a refreshing and sweet romance to the story.

Ruth is a strong character that held up under tremendous pressure. With her shattered heart from a horrific past event she opens up to trust only to be deceived. I did think Ruth was a little harsh at the end of the book. Even though she was hurt she didn’t have compassion for Nellie’s situation. All of the characters had it tough. Nellie and Captain Ezekiel O’Connor weren’t exempt. Their heart’s desire to have children only to be disappointed time after time tugged at my heart. Reading their story made me think about what I would do in either of the women’s circumstances.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I enjoyed the storyline and the two main characters Ruth and Jacob. I admire both for their strength and good will. I enjoyed reading their story and wanted their lives to have a happy ending. This is a well developed plot that not only hooked me but it drew me in to want to read book two in the series.

I didn’t read book one or book two in the Cinderella Romance series but I plan to remedy that as soon as possible. Book three, Par for Cinderella, was a hole in one for me. I loved it and felt it could be read as a stand alone.

Aidan was swoon worthy. He was more than just a handsome man. He was generous, kind and thoughtful. Beautiful on the inside and outside. I felt if the other leading characters in the previous books in this series are anything like Aidan then I need and want to read them just for more swooning possibilities.

Casey, the heroine, was loved by her townsfolk. It was easy to see why. She had the matching characteristics of Aidan, therefore they were made for each other. Unfortunately her past broken relationships made her not trust handsome men and Aidan had secrets of his own that made their budding romance that much sweeter to read. I couldn’t put the book down. When they interacted I could feel the chemistry and often their banter made me seriously laugh out loud.

The story is well written with something consistently going on that left me riveted. There were a few plot threads that intertwined to keep the reader in suspense. The characters were well developed. Some I adored and others I was happy to see their demise.

There was some back story shared for some of the characters that had their own book prior to this one but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment at all. It only made me want to read the previous books to learn more about their story. I found the back stories to be intriguing not distracting or confusing.

There were some misunderstandings between Aidan and Casey that made for a book glow at the culmination of the story. I found Par for Cinderella to be a refreshing contemporary romance story with unexpected surprises through out the plot.

A fun fact is I dragged my feet to read it because I was afraid it was going to be “golf-ish”. I made that word up. I hate golf with a passion because it takes my husband away from his family. I have to say that I regret feeling like that now. Par for Cinderella was an awesome book!

Alice is a librarian who enjoys her job and her life. When the sheriff sends a deputy to ask her if she will come and see him, she has no idea what news he has for her. Her sister who lives in a mining is dead. And she was murdered.

This story moves along well and it’s fun to watch a romance develop between Alice and the US Marshall Rand. The author uses her imagination and has him ask Alice to go undercover and talk to the miners. That means singing in a saloon and wearing a daring dress. Alice is game and even almost enjoys it.

The mystery is hard to break, there’s an unusual killer, and justice finally prevails. This was a good read.

He’s been in love with her for years but he’s gambler and she wants to do with them. He doesn’t want to talk about what made him leave and she’s trying to pretend they’re just friends but Chester has some ideas about what’s going on.

There’s a lot of soul searching and explaining to be done and the author does a good job of making it sound realistic and honest. At least this time Sophie doesn’t get her heart broken…

The story is enjoyable, well written and fun to read. The old west was tough but so are the people who live there.

He’s in a bind. He witnessed a murder, has been shot himself and he’s also being framed for the murder. His plan is to go to Denver to get an attorney he knows to defend him. He can’t make it that far, though, and stops at the business office of a childhood friend.

Since Abigail is a journalist at her brother’s paper, she always meets with the sheriff for information. She doesn’t like hearing there may be a killer headed their way. Then she finds out who has been accused.

This story is well paced and seems real. Small towns usually had people in power who pushed other around and it’s Russ’ partner that threatens everyone in town. He was also the one who shot him. How do you overcome lies when no one saw what happened? The townsfolk think he’s guilty.

When Abigail finds him in the storeroom, she thinks he’s a vagrant. Then she finds his wound and gets a doctor to treat him. Now there are four people in town who know he’s there.

The romance between them started long ago and that’s why he left town. Now it’s beginning again. He thinks he’s too old for her but he wants her. She’s always loved him but she also knows what he’s like and doesn’t know if she can trust him.

Watching this love grow and how they interact is fun. It looks like it’s hopeless but they still love each other. Then the sheriff finds him…

The author keeps your interest and makes you care about her characters. This western romance is a good read even if you have to worry about one of the main characters.
