He Was Taught How To Kill

Even behind bars, serial killer Harvey Day Smith exudes menace. Psychologist Jolene Granger has agreed to hear his dying confession, vowing not to let the monster inside her head. And Harvey has secrets to share—about bodies that were never found, and about the apprentice who is continuing his grisly work. . .

And Now He’ll Teach Them

He buries his victims alive the way his mentor Harvey did, relishing their final screams as the earth rains down. And as one last gift to the only father he knew, he’ll make the most perfect kill of all.

How To Die

Everything about this investigation is unnerving Jo, from Harvey’s fascination with her to the fact that she’s working alongside Texas Ranger Brody Winchester, her ex-husband. Harvey’s protégé is growing bolder and more vicious every day. And soon the trail of shallow graves will lead them to the last place Jo expected, and to the most terrifying truth of all. . .

“A coyote howled in the distance.” Where I live this is an ominous sound. It is the harbinger of killing. That howl made me feel sure bad things were in store for the characters of  No Escape—and they were.

Harvey Smith is Pure Evil and knows how to get into people’s minds and play havoc with their lives. He has two secrets. One he’ll reveal; the other he’ll leave clues for others to use to find out on their own.

Dr. Jo Granger knows a lot about Harvey Smith in a superficial way. Before he is through with his machinations, she’ll know about him in-depth and maybe to her detriment. The imprisoned, dying Smith will speak only to Dr. Jo Granger to tell about his past and where bodies can be found. Consequently, Jo is once again in the arena of action with Texas Ranger Brody Winchester, a man from her past. It has been fourteen years since they parted but Jo still has to repeat her mantra “Let go, Let go.”

Texas Ranger Brody Winchester is no longer the self-centered college athlete that is heedless to the needs of others. He’s not the classic ‘pretty boy’ but is tall, lean, broad shouldered and radiates raw power and dangerous energy. He knows his job and does it well. However, he carries a ton of guilt about the way he treated Jo fourteen years ago when she needed his support and all he could think was ‘poor me.’ He wants to set things right—not an easy thing to do.

Jo, in her logical way, tells Brody they should just be grateful for the civility they have managed and not try to make it anything else. But hearts don’t seem to understand logic. Hearts have needs that logic cannot explain. The strong undercurrent of the ‘I-will-be-acknowledged emotions almost swamp both Jo and Brody as they work together to unravel the horrific, grisly details and clues from interviews and surveillance tapes that relate to Harvey Smith.

Mary Burton sweeps the reader into the action where buried-alive women, an apprentice has stepped up to continue Smith’s unconscionable, murdering ways, and where an array of sociopaths for red-herrings muddies the waters. Suspense keeps the nerves on edge as Jo realizes she is being stalked and that her own mother has dark secrets that could change Jo’s life forever. Little by little Jo becomes more entangled in the web of Smith’s doings. It truly seems there is “no escape” for her.

Secondary characters give depth and insight into events and into the actions of the primary characters. Texas Ranger Rick Santos that Jo has worked with on cases and whom she considers a dear friend slips in and out of the action keeping the reader alert to where he fits in. Joe’s friends Lara and Cassidy along with the “at-risk” girls Jo works with show other facets of her personality; while her more professional acquaintances like the realtor Tim Neumann, the dentist Dr. Dayton, the brother of one of the dead women Scott Connors, and, of course, Robbie that Harvey Smith raised and trained from the age of twelve all keep the reader aware of the horrific murders Smith committed and they create adrenaline-pumping action that keeps one turning pages.

Mary Burton embraces the dark side of humanity as she juxtapositions beautiful pastures of Bluebonnets with the graves of women buried alive beneath them. The complexities of the plot and the characters along with Ms. Burton’s engrossing storytelling style make one shudder at the grisly details at times and at other times makes one sigh with satisfaction when seemingly impossible odds are overcome and LOVE is rewarded with the pure joy of having been acknowledged and given a place in the hearts of Jo and Brody forever.

No Escape is a chilling thriller that makes one shiver and it has a climax that is terrifying. The horror of the climax makes the happy-ever-after even sweeter. It is like a balm that soothes and heals the hurts. This well-paced tale that assails the senses and makes emotions bubble is excellent entertainment.

More Than, Book 3

Molly Harris never intended to send that letter. It was only meant to be a secret record of her true feelings for her boss, gorgeous pediatrician Sam Shepard. But in the chaos of a crazy day at work, Molly accidentally hits “send” instead of “delete”.
As soon as possible you will levitra cheapest price get this medicine from any online store. An understanding and comfort is essential for viagra online sample the love making. Mortified by her mistake, Molly acts in the only way she can. She submits her notice of resignation. A professional-etiquette line’s been crossed, and there’s no going back.

Sam’s mouth goes dry—then it waters—when he discovers his receptionist has sent him a dirty love letter. Or to be more explicit, a wicked, erotic love letter, neatly outlining her many fantasies involving him.

Now Sam has two choices. Either he can be the ultimate professional and accept Molly’s resignation, or he can acknowledge the depths of his desire and maybe, just maybe, convince her to send him another saucy email…

With dialog so sizzling hot that one might expect third-degree burns just from reading her books, Jess Dee definitely gives her readers “More than Words” with her creative literature! Never fret if you do sustain scorch marks as Ms Dee knows the perfect prescription for those injuries sustained while approaching her novels that are too hot to handle; why not give us a sexy and hot physician to fuel our imaginations and sooth the raging hormones? I adore Ms. Dee’s books as they are extremely entertaining, pictorially descriptive and when seeking the perfect romance novel filled with scorching love-scenes to cure a slagging libido, Jess Dee has proven herself as one writer whose works are just what the doctor ordered.

Sometimes accidents do happen…but that is why we have good medical care available to help us recover from such accidents. Molly Harris has had a dozy of an accident lately; she has accidentally sent her Pediatrician boss, the hot and sexy Dr. Sam Shepherd an email outlining all of her secret fantasies that she has had recently where he is concerned. But rest assured, the good doctor knows just how to treat this accident. While Molly may be mortified that she has exposed her secrets and thus possibly ending her job status as receptionist, Dr. Sam has discovered that he has a new medical condition to contend with. Symptoms include: fever, stiffness, heart palpitations and erotic daydreaming about his sweet-Molly, and if he has to suffer then he wants her to suffer also (after all he is sure now that this illness is contagious).  But what a way to go…

WOW; Fueled with fantasy material for many days worth of dreaming, More than Words has been added to my list of favorite Jess Dee books. Ms. Dee makes her characters so lovable, sexy and exciting that you cannot help of fantasize right along with them. Even though this book is a part of a series, it is a wonderful stand-alone book and does not need any previous commentary to catch-up the reader before they can grasp the story-line. I simple could not put this book down until I read it through in one-sitting. Placed in my favorite book folder, I am sure this will be one novel that I will return to again in the future.

If your internal bookworm is seeking medical advice on how to cure boredom and you’re looking for reading material that brings a smile to your face and a skip in your heartbeat, then More than Words might just be the perfect prescription for you!

Adam Cooper is back, and when he learns the truth about his unknown son, he is hell-bent on creating a home and family for his boys, even if it means blackmailing Abbie into taking part.

Abbie has scars from her own tumultuous childhood, and losing Henry would destroy her. But with only mistrust and pain to bind them, can she and Adam ever find a way through regret to love and the family they could be?

Five years ago, Adam and Abbie spent three weeks enjoying an all-consuming love affair. Although brief, their closeness helped Adam deal with the recent death of his wife and made him strong enough to face the fact that he had a 3-month-old son to raise by himself. As he said goodbye to Abbie, he was resolved to deal with his guilt and to live up to his promise to raise his son with love and care.

The crux of the matter though is that unknown to him he left Abbie pregnant. Because of circumstances, Abbie never alerted him of this fact. Now, Adam has returned and Abbie must break the news to him of the son he has never met.
Wow! Talk about an intense situation! I loved the tension between the characters as they face each other. The time that has passed has alienated them, but the feelings that attracted them to each other still exist.

This story deals with the pain of abandonment and lack of trust. It also deals with the consequences of survivor guilt, as Adam blames himself for this young wife’s death due to cancer. If he had not asked her for a baby, she would have been able to treat her cancer after it was diagnosed. By the time she was diagnosed, she had been in her second trimester, seen the ultrasound pictures, and fallen in love with the baby she carried. There was no way she would endanger her baby by undergoing cancer treatment or an abortion.

Abbie’s history of family abandonment, where she was left devastated and alone, has a deep impact in her inability to trust anyone to stay and live up to their commitments. She cannot trust that Adam will be the partner and father he proposes to be. She knows her son Henry needs a father in his life, but fears Adam will abandon them eventually and Henry will suffer as she did when she was young.

This is a powerful book, full of emotion, dealing with sensitive issues, and in the end, full of hope. I would strongly recommend this love story. There are no steamy love scenes, but there is plenty of angst and deeply moving scenes for all.

Venice – Two people, a shed load of baggage and a way forward that takes extreme to new limits.

In an explosion of clarity, the mist cleared and I understood what my lascivious teacher, Zara, really was beneath the surface. I couldn’t see her beautiful core. Like a dank fog warning off poor unfortunates who wandered her way, she wouldn’t let the darkness lift, refused to light the way. But she gave me a key. It was small, stiff, and I was afraid of what I’d find if I turned it. But I did. I couldn’t resist. She did that to me.

It prevents blood clotting and improves the circulation of blood to the male penis, this medical condition is viagra price canada known as hyperglycemia. Factors that are responsible to this dysfunction and that was when tadalafil 40mg check stock jelly was found. So, consume these capsules at least viagra usa price 3 months to get effective results. Sexual arousal causes the release of chemicals cialis price in india that are known to affect the body and its functions. In a tumble of truths, I understood her bleak voids and why she filled them with sharp slicing reds and hostile bruising purples. What had happened, what they’d done had bled her of colour and created a woman who needed so much more and always would—for all of time. But I could give her back that vibrancy, I was sure I could; my colours complimented hers and I had plenty of them. My needs could switch to take her to those grey places she needed to visit again in order to obliterate the memories that caused her pain. In the space they’d occupied, I’d create a pile of shimmering, perfectly cut-diamond memories, a rainbow cloud of sugar mist to replace that dankness. I could do it; I would help her become more beautiful than anything I’d seen before.

And within that new, delicate ‘thing’ was us. Victor and Zara. Unconventional, extreme, romantic, we spanned every shimmering stroke of the rainbow and all the coal-black shadows on the way down to Hell. But together we could fight demons. I would be her knight in shining armour even if it pushed me to the very limits of what I ever believed I could do to a woman. And what thrilled me, was if I bared my soul, found the courage to be a monster as well as an angel, I had a very real chance of making her mine—or did I? Because the only thing predictable about Zara, was that she was completely unpredictable.

Victor Partridge and Zara Watson are together once again and doing a test run of their new, ever-changing relationship with a weekend in Venice. Victor thought they could try to explore the more loving side of their relationship, to see if there could be a balance, but he didn’t expect for Zara to start opening herself so fully to him. Zara has never been anything other than a handful, a changeable, marvelous force of nature, and now is no different. The roller coaster continues, a beautiful hue of colors that defy description. Both Victor and Zara are determined to see if they can come together and make something perfect out of what has held such promise and potential.

Once again I’m blown away, not just be the plot and writing but with how amazing all the facets of this book come together. Victor and Zara are just as complex and multi-layered as ever, but finally we’re under all those exterior layers people naturally have and I’m seeing their true hearts and souls. Zara begins to open herself to Victor, to really tell him about herself. I found this helped me see how she ticks and what I read was amazing and devastating at the same time. This is no ordinary romance novel and I’d not have it any other way. This book makes you gasp for breath, ignore real life going on around you and devour every page to see what happens next. Zara has been incredibly hurt in her past, and with Victor’s gentle support together they face some of her demons. This makes for some heart-rendering scenes – both tender and provocative, and some of these experiences will not be for everyone.

This is not a traditional book or even like others I’ve read which push some boundaries. One scene in particular includes play-acting, collaring and pretending to be an animal and might shock some readers. Throughout the entire trilogy however, I’ve found every envelope-pushing scene to be written with excruciating care and taste. Never once have I felt revolted or as if the characters were being derogatory or abused – but others might not feel the same and there are a number of taboos breeched throughout this book: particularly fisting and body fluid scenes. Personally, I found the whole book (taboos and all) wonderfully written and even when I wanted to look away, or take a break, I simultaneously needed to read further, the strength of that being more than my desire to step back. And *that* is skillful writing to my mind. As a reader our questions about Zara are answered, the authors have laid her bare and so much of her is left still wonderfully complex, but now understandable as well. Victor is a sweetheart, and while I’ve adored his character from the start, his strength, his inner emotional power and his deep love for Zara just makes him even more amazing in my eyes. This book is not the ending (or solidifying) of Zara and Victor, but the first steps of what I know will be a life-long wild ride for them both together. While I’d always want more, I can’t imagine other readers not being satisfied with the way Harlem Dae have wrapped this series up.

Much like Book 2 – The Player – I believe if you picked this up not knowing it was the final in a trilogy you could still thoroughly enjoy Zara and Victor’s story and follow along as they solidify their relationship. However the story is far richer from being there from their beginning and I feel to truly enjoy it as it’s meant, reading this trilogy in order is needed. The complexities of their characters, the million strong threads binding them and creating who and what they are can only (in my opinion) be fully understood and appreciated having read these books in order. This story, The Vixen, is complete in itself though and stands perfectly well alone, but I would strongly recommend starting at the start and working through these in order.

A brilliant end to an amazing trilogy, I’d recommend this series for anyone wanting a deeply complex, incredibly intense read that pushes the envelope further and with more taste than many others. I’d suggest readers – particularly those wanting to expand their literary horizons – try this, but read the various warnings carefully, as there are many scenes that are not commonly touched upon.

In the end though, these authors write everything with style, care and such talent I’m pleased to have these additions on my shelves and know I’ll read them again in the future. Not a comfortable book (or series), this nevertheless balances perfectly between too much and not quite enough. I can’t imagine anyone reading it and not wanting more, so amazing is the mix of characters, plot, kink and emotion. A marvelous read that took me to dizzying highs and terrifying lows and a series I can strongly recommend to everyone willing to step on board for the ride of a lifetime.

This book made me an emotional wreck. The characters were so flawed, they were near perfect. I loved how they balanced one another like in an almost celestial way. Where he was hard and from the land, she was soft and from the sea. It was simply put, beautiful amidst the ugly. What Linda and some of the other subs had been through in the previous novels haunted not only the characters but me as well. For the author to evoke such sigh worthy moments is incredible. I applaud her and am now a devoted follower.

This is the seventh book in the Masters of the Shadowlands series. The rest of the series is fantastic and this was no exception.

London – one meeting, one month of lessons and a landslide of depraved new desires.

My journey to Hell started with a decaff coffee. Nothing more than a grey mug full of dull-brown liquid devoid of its most useful ingredient.

And on the other side of that blackness was a place that might look like Hell, with debauchery and wantonness, people playing devil’s advocate, luring innocents into the hotter, steamier corners of the world.

Her world.

Oh, yes, she promised each night to take me there and paint me an orange-and-red picture that would come alive, flickering like flames, enticing me, holding me spellbound and eager to learn more. To touch, explore, drown in coming.

And drown I would. I was no match for her tricks and taunts. My only chance of survival was to show her that I was no vanilla virgin. I had a rainbow of mastery up my sleeve, too, and if she just opened her eyes, she might be dazzled enough to stay—stay and take ‘my’ lessons. If she didn’t kill me first, that was, with pleasure.

Winter is on its way – with long, cold nights ahead – and Zara Watson has unconsciously been looking for a project. Searching the coffee shops and picking up a number of one night stands, it’s not until she lets Victor Partridge take her home that she finally understands what she’s been seeking. A man to teach exactly what she likes and how she wants it done. A man to shag silly, going hard until they’re both wrung dry. Someone to guide through the shocking, thrilling aspects of her far-from-ordinary life. Initially at least, Victor thinks he’s the one in control – and Zara is about to show him how very wrong he can be. A naughty bet and exotic night opens both their eyes to the tasty possibilities.

Wow. Holy freaking wow. This book blew away all my expectations in the best way imaginable. Be warned, this isn’t some prissy little story where the hero makes “violent” love to his woman while holding her tenderly, or stroking her hair and whispering sweet nothings in her ear. Nor is this book about a skittish woman needing to be seduced, tutored in the art of sex while love blossoms and develops at a staid pace between them. This book explodes in your face from the very first sentence and takes you on an emotional and sexual roller coaster from those titillating starting words all the way to the very end.

The authors have managed in the space of one book to shock me, tempt me, seduce me and absolutely open my eyes. Let me be clear though – this in no way is for the faint of heart and I can completely believe it won’t be every reader’s cup of tea. But I loved it. The Virgin managed to do everything Fifty Shades didn’t for me. It was real, honest, up front and in your face but without being offensive or over the top. The authors walked that deliciously fine line between being outrageous without crossing into putting me off. Neither did they err on the side of caution and end up being so soft as to invite ridicule (like so many other novels).

At times I did wonder whether I liked Zara Watson, and I could well believe others won’t find her at all comfortable. But that was one of the things that kept me turning the pages well past my bedtime. Zara pushes the boundaries, indeed some she smashed right through and doesn’t even pause to apologise. She is not a comfortable, or even easily understood, character. While at a first glance Victor is in comparison quite normal. But I saw these hints of more in him. And toward the end I wonder if Victor didn’t see his own depths as well. The longer I read the more I came to appreciate not just both their differences, but how they truly learned from each other – although Zara might never have admitted so.

While Victor was (understandably) reticent in places – Zara truly can be so forward as to be considered a force of nature – nowhere was any action non-consensual. This was an odyssey for both Victor and Zara. An exploration through the world of BDSM and most particularly themselves. I can’t be too much more specific or I might spoil it for some, but let me say this: if you want to be taken on a ride that steals your breath, makes you think outside the box and leaves you squirming in your seat both with sexy naughty feelings and discomfort at your boundaries being pushed, this is the book for you. Like anything that makes you feel strongly it’s both wonderful and shocking, breathtaking and uneasy all rolled up into a glorious, far-too-brief ride. I’m very glad I have the second book – The Player – right here ready to start as soon as I can finish typing. Because I need the next book about as much as my next breath. The ending isn’t on a cliff hanger as such – but the story is clearly far from over, and the teasing hint of “continue the story in book 2” is an offer I just can’t refuse.

Soon, he learns that his country is a battleground for a war between the spirit realm and human kind. Hiding a birthmark that has been written about in multiple prophecies, Promi tries to ignore the imminent battle that will come. But when he meets a smart girl named Atlanta, the two of them, and a kermuncle named Kermi, try to save their land—and each other—no matter what happens. But their actions reap a much bigger surprise…

This book was a total page turner. There was never a dull moment, and there were plenty of surprises hidden around the corners. I was frantically flipping through the pages, anxious to see what would happen next and frequently surprised by what did occur.

The characters were what really made the book great, though. Though they started out as perhaps less than admirable, I was pleased with the changes of heart that the characters went through while they journeyed together. It was, overall, one of the best stories about Atlantis that I have read yet.

It’s perfect for fans of Mythology, folklore and fantasy of all ages.

Aiden McDermott returned to Spring Valley to pursue his dream job of being the town’s sheriff. When he’s woken in the middle of the night and told some remains have been unearthed, he knows the only outstanding missing person case is that of Ruby Connolly.

Aiden has a history with the Connolly family, some good and some bad. One of the bad things included hurting Christina Connolly in the worse possible way. Christina is now an attorney and also back in Spring Valley. Can they put their differences aside and work together to find a killer who’s been walking free for a decade? And while doing so can they rekindle their love and prove that everyone deserves a second chance?

The Connollys and McDermotts do not get along. There is too much “water under the bridge” so to speak. Their history has dovetailed since Aiden had his accident and Christina saved his life. Since that day, their destinies have intermixed and no amount of effort from the children could have averted the crash of temperaments that would come later on.

It is now up to Aiden and Christina to uncover who the bones belong to and finally resolve what really happened to Ruby years ago.

Things are not what they seem. All evidence points to Christina’s father as the killer. She believes her father is innocent and so does Aiden. They both must risk everything in order to solve this mystery.

I loved that Aiden is laid back and easy going normally, but is able to rise to the occasion to defend the woman he loves. He regrets his past life and following his father’s dictates regarding his life. Now, after a divorce and a change of careers, he is his own man, regardless of what his father wants. He will do what he thinks is right and will break with his family if need be in order to follow his conscience.

The mystery unravels quickly at the end and you will be surprised as to the reason for Ruby’s murder. This is a well-written book that will provide you with an enjoyable read.
