Naya is a super strong character; she’s not a weak heroine by any means. So for her submitting to Menace even sexually is hard at first, but when she does surrender, they heat up the pages.

Throw in some outside interference and these two have to fight for their happy ending, and I loved every second of the ride. My heart stopped a few times and I yelled and ranted and cheered, Ms. Lopez pulled all those emotions from me.

This is the book for fans of sci-fi romance with BDSM and capture elements, I will be anxiously waiting for more books in this series.

I’ve read some really good menage relationship books but not many where two of the characters are a happily married husband and wife. This story is special because even if Kevin and Jill had never decided that they wanted to add a “spare dick” for a one night fantasy they would have still lived happily ever after. The writer left no doubt that the success of their relationship isn’t tied to adding someone to it. As high school sweethearts and twelve years of marriage, they had already built the lasting best friends and lovers foundation. It’s funny how teasing suggestions can lead to unintended consequences. In the case of Kevin, Jill and Adam I experienced every level of concern, fear, trepidation, longing, accepting and finally love in this fantastic little read.

Ms. Wilde set the tone for the story from the beginning and I was hooked to the very end. It wasn’t hard to see how Kevin could go from being completely hetero to eventually asking for what he wanted. I liked that Ms. Wilde didn’t make the transition easy for Kevin. The idea of what Jill asked him to do was stressful and he had questions but every decision he made, every step he took was always about her. Likewise, when Jill is confronted with what she perceives as duplicity she reacts as a normal woman would. It wouldn’t have made sense for her to simply accept what had been done without running the gambit of emotions. The writer made me think about how she was feeling and that’s important to me as a reader. If I don’t care how the characters struggle or how they feel then I’m not vested into their HEA or HFN.

Adam Heller is simply precious. Don’t tell him that, he considers himself a bit of an alpha male but he’s so much more than the gruff exterior of man known as “Hell” by his peers. He makes no apologies for what or who he wants but he doesn’t try to force others to be who they aren’t. I liked that he was able to be vulnerable it the right situation but didn’t hide and let some miscommunication ruin a good thing. Even if that “good thing” didn’t include him. I had no trouble buying into his feelings and the chemistry between him and Jill as well as him and Kevin.

There were no real surprises in the subplot concerning the missing girl, it could have been taken directly from a rural town newspaper, but it’s so well written and flows at just the right pace I didn’t want to stop reading. Not to say the subplot wasn’t necessary, it was. The story could have been solely about how Adam came to be a part of Kevin and Jill’s relationship but the intensity of the emotions and clarity of the moment that came out as a result of the case gave credence to what they all felt. It wasn’t simply a classic trope for the sake of writing some hot sex scenes.

Spare Dick is a thrilling short story for those who want that full body shiver of excitement. It has characters who made me care and a story that swept me along. I would cheerfully read another story where these three were either the main characters or maybe even simply reoccurring characters. That’s a story you don’t soon forget.

Ms. Breton sprinkles in a few details throughout the book but it would have been fun to witness the actual scene. Also, even though this is a paranormal story that involves weretigers there isn’t any shifting. These guys are certainly stronger and faster than “vanilla” humans and have a super sense of smell but they never shed their human skins for stripes. Some readers might take issue with that but, for me at least, it didn’t detract from the story. There’s a couple of small skirmishes but no big battles that would truly justify shifting.

One thing that captured and held my attention was the hero who was something of an anti-hero. Dion is pretty powerful in the were community. He’s the guy who’s in the know about everything that happens in the city and you don’t want to cross him. At least that’s the face most people see. It’s who Sam has convinced herself he is. And then he kisses her. Awwww…yeah, he lays one on her and she just melts. What’s better is he can’t keep his hands off of her. They both try to convince themselves they’re merely fulfilling a contract but I knew there was more to it. I loved it.

Sam really is a bit uptight since she’s had to be the responsible adult for her younger sister for quite a while. They’re both air witches but because they aren’t pure bloods they’ve had to deal with prejudice within their own coven. Dion is vital to bringing Sam out of her comfort zones, pushing her boundaries and getting her to admit to loving things that others consider taboo. It made this reader squirm a little to witness those moments but it was so well written and truly hot I couldn’t look away.

Having insight into what was happening between Sam and Dion that they couldn’t see or wouldn’t admit to as well enjoying scenes that made me want to hide my eyes is a testament to the writing. Ms. Breton crafted a beautiful short story that isn’t short on detail or chemistry. I would like to see Ms. Breton continue the series with Kari and Kevin’s story if it hasn’t already been written. This a paranormal that’s a little different and shouldn’t be missed.

This novel is a part of the Primal Attractions Series and so that event could have happened in one of the other books. She gives plenty reasons to feel empathy towards Cami and hope that the two bad guys are caught and dealt with before they can find and hurt her. I was a little disappointed that there was only one occasion where they explore that side. Having said that, once they come to realize that Cami is their mate it pretty much becomes a game of cats and mouse. Cami’s quick temper keeps them on their toes but I knew they’d win their mate in the end. It just took a bit of convincing that wasn’t at all unpleasant to witness. Once Linc and Colm get Cami to calm down and realize she wants them every bit as much as they want her the sparks turned into a full on heatwave.

I knew that at some point this trio would have to face the bad guys from Cami’s past. The separate fights that end in their capture are a bit anti-climatic but since the focus of the story seemed to be more on Linc, Colm and Cami finally fulfilling the mate bond I can see why it was glossed over.

I liked the hero’s in this tale very much but that didn’t surprise me. I’ve read other alpha shifter books by this author and she does a fantastic job of character building. These guys are the right amount of hard, hot and heart. I had no troubling routing for them to win their girl.

Her Mates’ Embrace is a great stand alone title in the Primal Attractions series. Ms. Airies world building brought right into the scene and kept me involved in the story. Readers who look for spunky heroines and uber alpha males will enjoy getting to know these three. The chemistry is intense and pretty instant but the love builds slow and sweet.

And the characters were fabulous. The thing I most admired about Reena was that she never hesitated to takes what she wanted. This woman was fearless! Not only do we get Ryder and Wren’s story but we also get to see more of the battle between the Werewolf Sentinels and the dark wolves. This book is a hot read that is full of emotion. I loved seeing the Sentinels as a family and how they stand by each other no matter what. I had to laugh at the parts that included the new baby and the changing of his diapers. Whether it is fighting the dark wolves or just spending time together. The love that they all share is evident in all that they do. I hope that this is not the last time we get to visit this world.

Together they faced even more tragedy before he was able to win this game of love. Of course in all romance books the guy is gonna get the girl, but in this book the journey to a happy ending was filled with heartache and frustrations. It made an entertaining read, and my greedy romantic heart loved every second.

The author’s writing style and the engaging characters ensnared me right from the beginning. The plot was intriguing and and filled with romantic heartache. It was a true pleasure reading a book such as this one, with the authentic dialogue and eloquent prose. The entire book covered a good chunk of time, though, and there were some times when the story bogged down a little bit. I felt that the author gave too much detail to Elisabeth’s time in Boston and with the people she met there. The tentative romance with her friend’s brother, Harry, seemed inconsequential to me. The relationship had absolutely no effect on the heroine even though I’d thought that maybe it would. It irritated me once I’d realized that it wasn’t going anywhere, so I could’ve done without it entirely. Other than that , I felt that the book was perfect. It was a story that played on every emotion I had, I felt fruststed with Tavis, and heartache for Elisabeth. It kept me in a state of suspense with all the romantic angst. I sighed with joy at the romantic ending and the wonderful epilogue.

I suggest that anyone who loves historical romance is bound to love this book. It is romance written the way it should be and I loved it. Everyone should read at least one of Elaine Coffman’s wonderful books. I’m thinking that you won’t be disappointed.

It is a brilliantly written novel, with believable characters whose lives are in such turmoil that I was drawn into the story right from the start. Their path to love was strewn with heartache, grief and pain. With conflict and suspense aplenty, So This is Love is a compelling and dramatic book.

In this complex book we meet Maggie, a Scottish lass whose husband meets death at the hands of a greedy relative. Maggie and her three small children are in a bad situation, which leads her to accept a marriage to Adrian Mackinnon. Adrian is pining after his lost love, the woman who married his twin brother, Alex, in For All the Right Reasons. I must say that losing Katherine had left Adrian a bitter man indeed. Adrian had some high expectations in his new wife, yet he acted less than a gentleman himself. At first he came across as cold-hearted, sending for a bride and then looking for reasons to hate her. It was almost as if he didn’t want her to replace Katherine. In fact I was sure of it as he went on worshiping her and made his feelings no secret. He was not a happy man and took it out on Maggie. I got so mad at him for some of the things he did that hurt her.

Maggie was a very likeable heroine. She was sensible and forthright, and showed great patience with Adrian. She didn’t set out to decieve her husband, she didn’t know what Ross had done. She felt guilty after realizing that Adrian didn’t know everything about her. She wanted the marriage to work and hoped to make him fall in love with her before revealing some things she knew he wouldn’t take well. I liked that she stood up to Adrian when he acted like a jerk. Not once did she come across as a simpering doormat.

The character developement was excellent, delving into personalities and showing me why they made the decisions they did. I found out that they were both conflicted about their past as well as the future. Adrian had some hidden depths that I didn’t notice right away. The story spanned several months time and the author packed a lot of heartache and turmoil in so that it never once got bogged down. Making the book even more entertaining was the suspense as someone was out to take Adrian down. Then just as Adrian and Maggie were drawing closer, the kids showed up. The story got intense at this point and I wondered if the hero could be redeemed, or even if I wanted him to be. This author knows how to make her story dramatic, it takes a near tragedy and three darling children to melt Adrian’s heart.

So This is Love is a touching and beautiful romantic novel. I found it to be a wonderful example of historical romance. I enjoyed it. I’m happy to recommend it to all lovers of romance.

Don’t we all wonder what would happen if we had mysteriously traveled back in time and were caught with no money and no protector and a limited working knowledge of the time period? (Well, okay, those of us who enjoy a good time-travel read have!) This one seems to be a bit more realistic at the start with our heroine, Samantha, having a turn or two of “bad luck”.

The interesting turn of events comes in the form of a locket found in her time. Well, her “correct” time. Not only does it seem to be the reason she traveled back in time, but it seems to be pointing her in a very specific direction.  Then her “bad luck” turns fortuitous in the meeting of Mary, one of the girls in the house. Being able to keep Mary with her allows Mary to help interpret the locket and its message. It also provides a buffer for Samantha’s reaction to Ryder.

And isn’t Ryder the reason we all have time travel fantasies? Handsome, hardworking, a bit of money – as well as some mystery, intrigue and a sordid past. Oh yeah, and hot for you. Well, in this case, hot for Samantha!

However, having said all of the above, I need to note that there were many places where I had to stop and re-read. Whether it was confusing writing or my lack of knowledge of this particular time, I am not entirely sure. It may, in fact, be the combination of the two. But as it occurred multiple times, it bears mentioning.

Also worth mentioning is the twisting and turning plot. While creating an engaging scenario and allowing our heroine to move forward in her quest, the added plot twists proved confusing and also made me stop and re-read passages. The end result is positive, but the reader should be aware of this so it doesn’t “put them off”.

While most of the romantic scenes are between Samantha and Ryder, there is one particular encounter between Samantha and the Duke that isn’t a particularly pleasant meeting. While no actual intercourse is described, Samantha is very definitely cast in a subservient role, and is most forcefully against this liason. After that warning, I do want to state that it is definitely worth reading this scene, and the outcome continues to help move the story forward.

While not a traditional time travel novel, one does find the “happily ever after” they are looking for. There are plenty of twists and turns and many intimate moments. All-in-all, a worthy take on this interesting plot.
