Once again, Aline Hunter has delivered another great book and a solid addition to her Alpha and Omega series. This book definitely lived up to every one of my expectations. From the first page until the last, it held me captivated by the compelling characters and everything that was going on. The story got off to a fast start and it held me enthralled by a storyline that never slowed down. It was a long awaited book that I had been dying to read, and all that anticipation had me diving in with a reckless abandon. It was a page turner that I could not put down, so I ended up reading it in one sitting. And I enjoyed every single page.

In the last book, Enemy Mine, we saw that Trey treated Sadie very badly. He got himself into some trouble, and she saved his life. In a weakened state she had to take his blood. With that one drink, Sadie was tied to Trey, unable to feed from anyone else. Now, Trey was conflicted at being mated to a vampire. You see, in this series it seems that shifters and vampires do not mix. In fact we are led to believe that it is taboo. Trey acted like a jerk and turned his back on Sadie. Her heart broken, Sadie tells him that he will never see her again, and Trey unaware of the price she will pay for saving his life. This book opens several weeks later, with Trey finally coming to his senses as he learns of the danger Sadie is in.

Trey is determined to get Sadie back, but by the time he realizes the danger it may be too late. He saves Sadie from Aldon Frost, the shady mage/vamp, whose motives are still unclear at this point. I have to say that after what he has done, Trey has a lot to make up for with Sadie. He is still conflicted about their forbidden romance, loyalty to his pack, and whether or not he’s ready to sacrifice everything for her. So yeah, he messes up a few times. Even after he chooses Sadie, he has to work hard to convince her to trust that she means something to him. I loved the way he came through on that one. Next they had to face dissension within Trey’s own pack, and with some surprising characters whose hostile behavior really shocked the heck out of me.

I loved how Trey became so possessive and caring of Sadie. Confronting his pack and the sacrifice he was willing to make. I would say that he proved himself as one of my favorite drool worthy heroes. Now lets talk about the sexy times. Since the first book, Omega Mine, Trey and Sadie had shared a sizzling chemistry. I just knew that their love story would be scorching hot. I was not wrong about that. They had some steamy love scenes, including some anal play and one very sensual shower scene that almost melted my kindle. Though I would have liked more of them, their love scenes were hot, where the naughty dirty talking Trey more than proved his dominant nature.

I loved Sadie just as much. She was a great kick-butt heroine. She was tough and I liked the way she proved herself. Just my opinion but I think she may have been stronger than all the alpha shifters put together.

My hopes were high for this book, I’d been dying to read it since Omega Mine. Overall, I was very satisfied with Trey and Sadie and how their love story played out in this book. I had expected that this would be a tumultuous love story, so it was, and I loved the way Hunter played it out to a romantic ending.

As with her previous books, Hunter deftly worked some intriguing side stories into the plot. I did like the other characters and how the author kept giving the reader glimpses that were interesting and aplenty, with some great set-ups for future books. There was a lot of things happening, and several intriguing side stories unfolded. There were characters new and old that surprised me. Some were not what they seemed, and some of them got on my last nerve and had me wanting to scream at them. Just like the first two books, this one had a lot of action, with some thrilling fight scenes. A lot of questions were asked in this book, with some big and exciting things seeming to be just around the corner for this series. Even the epilogue was essentially a set up for a future story. One that I’d say was very surprising to this reader.

I loved this book. If I could describe it with only one word it would be intense. The plot was a compelling story of forbidden love, but it was so much more with the many interwoven side stories and intriguing characters. It lived up to all of my expectations and kept me entertained right up until the last page. It flew by much too fast and left me wanting more. So whatever journey Aline Hunter takes with this thrilling series, then this is one reader who is sure to follow.

Vampire Mine will definitely be a highly recommended paranormal read from this happy reader.

The secondary characters in this book are insightful and informative and the evil werewolves were scary and riveting.  I am also impressed that each book covers enough background material to insure that it can be a stand alone novel in itself.

Looking for an enchanting fable with scintillating and enigmatic plots and a succulent romance that engages your imagination and satisfies your sense of adventure? Then Mad Moon might be the book that outshines all other moons. I think many will truly enjoy this spicy novel.

I felt the love connection between Naomi and Jonathan. Jonathan is a man any women would desire. He stood up to one of his patient’s harsh verbal out lashings to Naomi and he also stood up to his mother and her display of disrespect to Naomi. He also stood up where it counted the most when Naomi’s former master came to claim her.

Freedom’s Embrace is a gripping novel that made me feel and believe that love does exist and happy endings are possible. If your heart is in need of a smile, Freedom’s Embrace is a novel that will give you a happy loving feeling.

I realize this is a work of fiction and maybe I’m not suppose to over think it, but the story lacked so much common sense. For example, the urgency to take Jay up on his offer seems premature when she hasn’t reported her brother missing to the authorities nor to her parents. Pace is nauseated at the thought of telling her dad about Rich, but isn’t he liable to find out eventually? Pace is startled by muscle bound guys looking for her brother but she doesn’t even report this to police. Maybe the story would have been stronger without the mystery of the missing brother or if the story had taken the brother being missing more seriously. It’s like the brother being missing was just thrown in there as a reason to tie Pace and Jay together.

The attraction and bedroom scenes between Pace and Jay were delivered steamy and hot.  This is where the story excelled.  The author turned up the heat and gave a satisfying read when it came to the fulfillment of the bet. I like the fact that even though Pace came from a wealthy household, the author gave Pace an independence and an entrepreneurial spirit. Her business catered to those less fortunate, not only offering loans but also programs that the recipients are required to take.

Drawing the Stud hits all the right notes in the bedroom department, and that heat helped me get past the questions I had with the plot.  If you’re looking for a steamy read, and are able to suspend reality a bit, then grab a copy.

After realizing this, I knew this story would test their limits and resolves. This is not the usual boy meets girl, etc. romance format. It is full of romance, passion, and yet jocularity.

My only regret is that these characters spend so much of their energy in the chase and I wish the author had given us more of their romance. On the other hand, it provides for an increase in adrenaline waiting for the moment when these two characters must clash.

If you have not read Undressed (The Manhattanites book #1) by Avery Aster, you do not have to read it before reading this book (though, why wouldn’t you want to?). This standalone novel will leave you hooked on this series of stories. You will laugh, cry, and yes cheer at their antics. Looking forward to reading book #3 from this author.

Kyle is a sexual sadist and Teresa is used to being in charge in her relationships, watching these two learn about each other was a real treat. Gale is a bounty hunter, so she is a total kickass heroine, but her past gives her some major insecurities that Murad has to get past in order to get her to fall in love with him. I enjoyed watching their courtship and the scenes between these two were volcanic.

Murad is a warrior and Gale is his mate so he stops at nothing to claim her. This gives him a level of determination that suits him perfectly. There were some aspects of things happening in the background that I found confusing but as this is the second in a series, those things may have been explained in the first. Even with the slight confusion, this book was still enjoyable without having read the first.

I look forward to reading more stories with these fascinating warlords, and recommend this story to fans of space romances with big strong men and heroines that can bring them to their knees.

It is shocking how cynical they are at such an early age. Though they were both adamantly against marriage, they had very different experiences that led them to reach the same conclusion. Marcus believes loving a woman could literally be the death of him. Emily’s mother filled her head with bitter ravings that were extremely skewed. Emily and Marcus are both deeply wounded, but what makes the situation even sadder is that they don’t know the entire truth behind the circumstances that have made marriage so unappealing. Will they have the courage to face the truth and finally open their hearts, or will their stubbornness cost them everything?

In addition to figuring out her relationship with Marcus, Emily also finds herself faced with a desperate situation once she returns home. I thought it was very easy to figure out what had been going on at the Hughes estate during Emily’s absence, but I enjoyed watching Emily and Marcus try to piece everything together. Ms. Violette did an excellent job of building the suspense, and I found myself racing through the last part of the book. Even though I thought I knew how certain events would turn out, Ms. Violette threw in a couple surprises that led to a very satisfying conclusion.

Reading A Convenient Pretense was truly a joy. The pacing was excellent, and watching Emily and Marcus slowly change their views on love and marriage was a pleasure. Fans of historical romance and poetry would do well to pick up a copy today.

First let me say that I have read quite a few of Naima Simone’s books, Bargain with the Beast, Sweet Ultimatum, A Perfect Fit as well as the first book in this Dark Judgment Series, Under His Wings. Every one of these books was a great read. I thought that my favorite book of hers was Under His Wings, but sadly I was mistaken. Bitten by Ecstasy was by far the most enjoyable book I have read. This book had everything you could possibly want, there was a strong capable kick ass female who also let her vulnerable side show, and you had a strong alpha male who realized the strength the woman had and respected it. There were villains, fighting, Vampires, Wendigo’s, a blood cross and supporting characters that helped add more dimension to the story without overdoing it. These characters were so likeable that you as the reader couldn’t tear yourself away from their tale.

I loved that the story centered around Bastien trying to find a way to rid himself of the hunger that lived within him, while trying to keep the attraction he had towards Sinead at bay. He wanted to get his life back but he also knew that this hunger for Sinead would not easily go away. However when he slept his dreams of being with her were very vivid and steamy which had this reader reaching for a fan. I liked that they didn’t jump into bed within the first few chapters, instead the author built the anticipation up until you as the reader was chewing your bottom lip as you waited for the explosion you knew would come once these two got together. This reader also loved the humor in the story, since Sinead became human her world revolved around her television. She would reference TV shows when talking to Bastien which promted him to raise an eyebrow and threaten to take away her remote.

Bitten by Ecstasy can be read as a stand alone, however I would suggest that the first book in the Dark Judgment series Under His Wings be read first. This is simply because some of the characters from the first book appear in this one, while others are mentioned. It also helps you get to know a little of what and why the villain who tried to kill Bastien did so. In my opinion, Bitten by Ecstasy is a must read, and I hope that when you get the book you enjoy it as much as I did.
