Comments

  1. Oh I really like that first one!

  2. I like your avian take on the topic.

  3. Fab covers!

  4. Love this take on the theme! What an ambitious lot of finds.

  5. The Blind Owl cover is stunning <3

  6. Love that you focused on birds! I do love that cover for Crow Country.

  7. What a great collection of titles/covers!

  8. Lovely! The Goldfinch, How to Kill a Mockingbird, I know why the caged bird sing… There are so many more great titles!

    Thanks for visiting us earlier!

  9. What a great take on this week’s topic! I’m intrigued by That Quail, Robert. There’s got to be a story behind that title, and I want to know it. The Edward Gorey entry also caught my eye. I had a poster of the Gashlycrumb Tinies hanging on the wall of my dorm room in college. Marvelously macabre!

I’d add a book to your list: The Owl Service by Alan Garner. It’s an adaptation of a Welsh myth, and I rather enjoyed it.

  10. Oh, and one from my childhood, if we’re venturing into the world of imaginary birds: The Ice-Cream Cone Coot and Other Rare Birds. It was one of my favorites, and I read it to my boys when they were young.

  11. I love the colours and illustration on Death of a Songbird

  12. I love how you put your own special twist on this week’s prompt, especially since it was already challenging, so great list!! The only one I know from this list is The Trumpet of the Swan, which I read as a kid but haven’t thought of in such a long time! Thanks for the memories this week.

  13. I love that you went with Birds this week, too. You found some really great choices. I can’t wait to check some of them out. And thanks for commenting on my blog earlier. 😀

  14. Ooh, more bird themed books! Great idea for this week 🙂

  15. Birds are really popular in titles and covers. I love seeing all the different ones today.

    • Yes, I noticed that, too. What a lovely surprise that was. I thought our list might be the only avian-themed one. 🙂

  16. Oooh nice picks! All birds too! I just went with whatever covers I could find with animals on them! Lol!

    Thanks for visiting my TTT!

  17. Great way to specialize the topic! I kind of wish I’d looked to see if I had titled animal books. Maybe next time! 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting my website this week.

  18. Oh, great list! I love how many bird books there are out there, and how varied your list is. Thanks for stopping by my TTT earlier!

  19. Great titles, I remember reading The Trumpet of the Swan many years ago.

  20. Wow, you made it even harder with your take on the prompt. Well done! I remember reading that E.B. White book as a child.

  21. You’ve found a bunch of bird books that I’ve never heard of. Thank you for stopping by my blog earlier.

  24. Oooh, nice! I love your theme, and it definitely brings back memories seeing The Trumpet of the Swan!

  25. Great list!! I haven’t read any of these but this theme is great! I think Trumpet of the Swan is one that my husband has from his childhood books!

  26. I love that you went with birds😁 This a such a fun list!

  27. A great list. I struggled with just generic animals!

    Have a great week!

    • Thank you. I’m glad you were able to come up with a list. It’s no fun to struggle with TTT topics. 🙂

  28. Birds are popular subjects for book covers. I’ve seen a lot of them on TTTs this week.

  29. I like that you went with birds in titles! Great idea!

  30. What a fun way to narrow down this prompt! I remember loving Trumpet of the Swan very, very much in my tweens.
