Top Ten Tuesday: Shows I Enjoy

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

I love this idea for a prompt! Here are ten recent (or recent-ish) shows that I’ve enjoyed. I usually only watch two or three of them each week, so sometimes it takes me a few years or even longer to start watching what many other folks finished ages ago.

1. The Last of Us

Genre: Horror, Science Fiction

2. Station Eleven

Genre: Science Fiction

3. That 90s Show

Genre: Comedy

4. Three Pines

Genre: Mystery

5. Schmigadoon

Genre: Musical, Comedy, Romance

6. Star Trek: Lower Decks

Genre: Science Fiction, Comedy

7. Penguin Town

Genre: Documentary

8. Fantastic Fungi

Genre: Documentary

9. The Man in the High Castle

Genre: Drama, Science Fiction (Alternate History)

10. Superstore

Genre: Comedy

As you can see, I like to jump around between genres. Have you seen any of these shows?

Comments

  1. I’m not a TV watcher so I’m not really familiar with any of these. But I think my husband watched The End of Us and enjoyed it.

  2. The Man in the High Castle is an interesting show.

  3. I didn’t know much about The Last of Us when it started other than that it was a video game and that it had something to do with zombies so I went in pretty blind. I ended up really enjoying it though, especially the two main characters.

  4. Superstore was brilliant! I also liked The 90s show more than I thought I would. I always get worried when they try to capitalize on something that was so great!

Star Trek Lower decks is one of my favourite nee shows

    • It’s such a fantastic show! My spouse is really into Star Trek and picks up on all sorts of Easter eggs in those episodes.

  6. I only watched That 90s Show from your list, but I really enjoyed that one!

  7. I liked The LAst Of Us and Three Pines.

  8. OOh nice ones! Some new to me ones except for Superstore and That 90s Show! Loved both of them but the latter was enjoyable since I grew up in that decade and could finally get references and such! Lol!

    Thanks for visiting my TTT!

  9. I am not a huge TV watcher so I haven’t heard of many of these shows. You commented on my post you would like to learn crochet so I wanted to share the link to the YouTuber I LOVE who made it so easy to get the basic stitches down: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcOzdAzmtNM&t=14s

Penguin Town captures my attention! Never heard of it. I have the denizens of Three Pines so fixed in my mind that I’m not sure I could watch it–I tried the last version (It was horrible) so I’ll give it a few seasons and then decide. Good topic!

It takes me a long time to watch through one show. I started watching Super Store but couldn’t get through it. It was funny but, it got too mean spirited for me.

  12. The only one I’ve seen is Three Pines and that only because I love Louise Penny’s books. Don’t watch much TV…..

    • I’ve become interested in Louise Penny’s books through that show. Just waiting for the first one in the series to arrive from the library.

It’s kind of cool we came to appreciate that series from different entry points. 🙂

  13. I really got into The Man in the High Castle, at least the first season. The short story wasn’t as good, btw.

  14. I haven’t watched Three Pines but enjoyed the first few books.

    • Glad to hear it. I’m hoping my library copy of the first book in that series will arrive later on this spring.

  15. I used to love That 70s Show! And I’ve heard so many great things about Superstore, sounds like I’m going to have to check it out.

  16. A great choice for this week. I loved Superstore. We have a 4 year old and so getting through things is tough!

    Have a great week!

  17. I’ve watched and enjoyed your top 3! I still need to finish That 90s Show, though. I keep hearing about Superstore. I need to add that to my list. 🙂

    • That’s great!

I hope you like Superstore. If you’ve ever worked in retail or the service industry, there are all sorts of funny references to that line of work in that show.I found them very true to real life.

  18. I watched Superstore over lockdown, such a fun show!

  19. I haven’t watched any, but I’ve wanted to watch the Man in the High Castle, myself!

  20. What a great list. The Man in the High Castle was a favorite in our house, too. Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog last week.
