The Goddess of Playfulness

What if the Goddess of Playfulness invites us to start with the question “What do you want?” To ask this to ourselves and to our partners and playmates.

What if the Goddess of Playfulness says, “It’s not play if anyone is compromising what they want. Or isn’t clear about what they want. I don’t approve of this.”

What if she wants us to answer the question “What kind of restaurant would you like to go to?” with candor? Even if you’d like to go to a Mexican restaurant but you’re not sure if the one you’re going with does.

What if the Goddess of Playfulness invites us to let go of our need to be right about everything? What if the addiction to being right (and fundamentalism) interferes with the lighthearted spirit of play? What if it makes the eternal river of joy within us less accessible?

What if when we are less attached to being right, we become more open to creativity, inventiveness, curiosity, exploration, and so forth? What if we are less likely to get stuck in the old patterns, the outworn behaviors, the dead-end streets that don’t lead to solutions when we are captured by the spirit of Play?

What if the spirit of Play can help us overcome perfectionism? Surely Thomas Edison had some playfulness within him and some curiosity (they go hand in hand). If he didn’t, I’m no so sure he would have persisted in trying one different approach after another. He failed in his efforts to create a lightbulb over 40 times. Time after time, he didn’t let the “failure” stop him—he didn’t let the “this isn’t perfect” get in the way.

What if the spirit of Play can help us create new neural networks? If you’ve never done needlepoint before and you take it up, you’ll start creatin new neural networks. For those who are interested in creating a new world, instead of dismantling the old, the spirit of Play can help in many ways on many levels. And besides, what if we get more done and do a better job when we’re having fun?

Dear one, as you set forth on the new adventure offered by this book, give yourself permission to discover new facets of your multi-dimensionality. Allow yourself to vibrate on higher levels, closer to the mountaintop of joy without condition. Allow yourself to hear God say, “You are glorious!” Give yourself permission to say “Yes” whenever Source says “This is who you are.”

Never before has humanity lived in an age so ripe for transformation, happiness, harmony and cooperation.

Never before has the need for transformation been so apparent. Not that the need for transformation has never been so great; rather, the need has never been so visible. The darkness and impurities within the systems in our world are more visible and palpable today because we have entered an era of greater light.

Never before has the world been so prepared for a new arrangement of systems informed by integrity and compassion. Never before have so many people been poised for self-realization and the joy of living from integrity and authenticity.

This book is for those who long for the day when corruption will be replaced by the blossoming of goodness. It is written for those who want to see the flourishing of kindness throughout the world, through systems of commerce, governance, and medicine.
