Jenna Mancini visits a mansion that serves as a high-end sex club called the Blue Room. She needs the boost to her self-esteem, so she goes to the exclusive club. The Blue Room is discreet so no one will know her true identity.

Jenna has incredibly bad self-esteem about her looks. Her confidence was shredded by her ex-husband who criticized her about her looks for some time. The worst thing about Jenna is that she used to be a woman who didn’t care what others thought but the poisonous relationship with her ex left her scarred. This is a large part of having trust problems with Hunter. She can’t see why he is with her, thinking like her ex-husband, he will leave her. No matter what Hunter told and showed her, the ghost of her ex is still there.

Hunter has panic attacks whenever anyone tried to touch his back or chest. He has extensive scarring from physical and emotional abuse. These memories are buried deep and are causing him to not be able to form healthy relationships. Because of this he told Jenna she needs to follow some rules–the main one being that she can’t touch his chest and back.

Jenna was surprised at how comfortable she was around him, the same for Hunter This made their sexual relationship hot and passionate. They have so much tenderness and understanding that it brings tears to the eyes.

I would have liked to see Jenna be stronger, to let the past go. I find it interesting that Hunter was the first one to take the large step of cementing the relationship.

This is a sad, intense novel that shows how the horrors that rule our lives can be overcome with the right person to hold our hand. It also reminds us that our looks do not define us and that the person inside is what we should look for. Enjoyable and thought provoking. Be sure to give yourself time afterward to gather yourself.
