Ms. Walker has once again raised the bar on historical romance with this first book into a brand-new series. Reading the blurb and discovering her father had decreed she marry the winner of the tournament, I anticipated the book would be about their struggles as a married couple…followed by a lovely HEA of course. But, Ms. Walker certainly through a spanner into that idea in short order. Suffice it to say, this couple had more than one curve ball to sort out on the way to their HEA. Up until the last 10& of the book….with promises that the twists will continue into the next book of the series.
There are battles galore. Angered gods. Devious dwarves. Dragons. And a love that cannot die no matter what is thrown at it.
I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!
