Review by: Tiger LilySingle mom Ella Thompson’s stressful life is running a quart low on adult fun. That is, until her ex-husband takes the kids on vacation and her best friend provides the antidote to a boring week: a gift card, a vibrator and instructions to ‘find’ herself. Yet what she’d like to discover is the name of the hunk at the café in her favorite bookstore whose biceps bulge with every latte he serves.
Some sexy new clothes and a solo orgasm or two later, Ella is taken by surprise when the handsome ex-marine, Diego, asks her to dinner and she becomes the appetizer. Ella finds herself happily immersed in a too-good-to-be-true fling with a man who has skills extending far beyond the battlefield…and in the bedroom. Along the way, she discovers a seductive side of herself that has been dormant far too long.
However, the kids are due back soon. Will Ella be able to merge the fantasy with real life, or will this new version of Ella be lost forever?
Being recently divorced can really suck, but Ella doesn’t let it bring her down. She’s about to start a new job and now she’s on a mission to find out what happened to the carefree woman she used to be. She liked to find a romance to sweep her off her feet, but not until she’s found herself. Such is the story of Finding Ella.
I thoroughly enjoyed this short, but very hot novella. Ms. Fitzpatrick writes of real people in real situations that the reader can identify with. Although it seems as if the relationship moves in warp speed, the reader can easily root for Diego and Ella to make a go of it. She’s just coming out of her shell and finding out there is more to life than just being “Mom”. Diego is the sexy ex-Marine who’s willing to show her that “Mom” doesn’t have to be a foul word. I liked his honesty with her and the way he respected her reservations about the long term. That in itself was very sexy.
If you want a novella where the characters could be your best friends, then Finding Ella is the novella for you. I give this story 4 ½ cherries.
