All Zadie Cox has ever wanted was to find a mate, fall in love, and have lots of kids. The problem is … no one wants her. The pack doesn’t care for a woman with curves, and no man wants “a fat mate”, which is what they’ve called her.

Dante Locker hates pack politics. When he’s invited on a month long visit to a neighboring pack, he knows there’s a catch. The alpha has a daughter—but there’s no way Dante’s mating with her. Then the moment he enters the town square, the redhead with the killer curves grabs his attention. He wants her, and Dante’s a rich alpha, a businessman, and he always gets what he wants.

No man has ever wanted Zadie, but there’s something about this new alpha. The way he walks, talks … and his devotion calls not only to her wolf, but to her. Can Zadie leave the pack that she has called home? Will she fall in love with Dante? Or is this just a month-long fling?

Zadie was the fat girl, the fat wolf, and while she was lonely her life didn’t suck. Dante knew he was an unusual pack Alpha. A businessman at heart he had no time for spoiled, cruel women who only wanted the prestige of his title and money. When Dante meets Zadie, he can see exactly the sort of mate he wants – kind and gentle, wonderful with children she had plenty of love and loyalty to offer her man. But Zadie’s pack Alpha wants Dante for his own daughter. Will this destroy the only hope Zadie’s ever found for a family of her own?

I enjoyed the slow pace of this sizzling romance. While the attraction between Dante and Zadie was pretty instant, they didn’t simply jump straight into bed. I enjoyed how Zadie and Dante got to know each other a bit first – particularly since Zadie really struck me as a gentle, sweet character. Had they simply torn their clothes off and gone right into it that wouldn’t have worked properly with the other characteristics I saw in Zadie. But I could totally enjoy that Dante was all Alpha – and while patient and kind with Zadie, he wasn’t the stort of guy to roll over and let something he wanted so badly slip out of his grasp.

There were a wealth of secondary characters that I greatly enjoyed – a part of me kind of hopes Zadie’s brother Luke and Dante’s sister Bethany might get their own story some time in the future. I felt the secondary characters really helped round out this story and make it seem deeper than had it just been Dante and Zadie simply coming together. I also enjoyed a lot of the world-building. There was lots of information about the pack and how the world worked and – much like the strong cast of characters – helped the story feel well-rounded and more plot-centric than many other paranormal romances I’ve read recently.

With interesting and vibrant characters, a good amount of plot and some exceptional world building, I really enjoyed this story on numerous levels. I found the sex romantic but still smoking hot and overall can heartily recommend this story. I’d happily pick up more books in this series.

His lost princess bride!

King Reza abandoned the search for his childhood betrothed, Princess Magdalena, years ago. Until the shocking appearance of a photograph of the elusive princess reignites the legend that gripped his nation. Now Reza must return to the hunt and claim his queen!

Waitress Maggy’s family history is a mystery, and even though she often dreamed of Prince Charming, he was never as devastatingly handsome as Reza! Fiercely independent, she won’t accept her birthright on any terms but her own, so if Reza can’t use legal bindings, he’ll use sensual ones that Maggy will be helpless to resist!

As a fan of Harlequin romances, there’s a certain kind of hero, premise and journey that never fails to entertain, engage and lure me in. I’m happy to report that Bride by Royal Decree met my expectations and I was a happy clam all nestled in my comfy chair while I enjoyed this wonderful story.

I’m dating myself here but for those readers who remember Shirley Temple’s 1939 movie The Little Princess about a little girl forced into servitude due to a reversal of fortune, as well as the classic Cinderella, they’ll recognize that this novel combines elements of both, and Ms. Crews’ wonderful writing captures the intense feelings of stubbornness, hope, despair and eventually, love.

Maggie is a foster child who, through sheer grit and determination, has survived a horrible upbringing. She’s feisty and mouthy but she has a good work ethic and still dreams of a better life. Enter the hero, King Reza, and things get really interesting. He’s infuriatingly arrogant, powerful and rich and … unprepared for the force that is Maggie. I loved it when she talked back to him. Those scenes made me giggle.

Maggie’s prince has come, but in actual fact is already a king. She was lost for years and years and as soon as she’s rediscovered, the plot kicks in high gear because Reza is determined that she WILL be his, she WILL act like a future queen and expects her to toe the line, except, when she does, he’s still not happy. Why is that you wonder? You have to read the book to find out what’s going on in the king’s head.

The novel is told mostly in Maggie’s point of view because she’s the star and the one that most of the change happens to, but Reza has a few enlightened moments to share with readers too. Of course he’s not without internal conflicts and past hurts which of course stymy their budding relationship; that’s a given for these types of stories. It’s how those issues get resolved; it’s how Maggie and Reza finally reach the point where they realize that they really do love each other that the story races to their happy ever after.

How it comes about cracked me up. Not that it’s overtly funny – it’s because Maggie basically tore a page out of Reza’s “how to be royalty” book and figuratively whapped him over the head with hit. I really liked Maggie.

If a reader is in need of a quick and easy bit of romantic escapism, Bride by Royal Decree should do very nicely indeed. It was a quiet afternoon’s read for me and I enjoyed every moment.

Webber’s A Miracle for the Baby Doctor takes us immediately to a wonderful ,exotic location, as well as to the squeaky-clean hospital corridors we expect in a medical romance. There is something light-hearted about Steve and Fran’s connection. Right off the bat, Steve’s humor is welcome, especially as the story begins at a rather dark spot in Fran’s life. Even with the everyday (who uses the shower first) there is that hint of risque. The interaction between the two main characters will make every reader smile, again and again. Stunning Cynthia couldn’t be further from the woman Sean imagined her to be, and their attraction is mutual and instantaneous. Neither are ready for a relationship, but from the moment their lips meet there’s just no going back…

Carlisle’s Stolen Kisses with Her Boss brings with it a level of complexity that seems to go hand-in-hand with main character Cynthia’s life. At work, she maintains a high-level of professionalism, although she does have some, er, less than strictly professional thoughts about her boss. The mutual attraction takes us a big step away from ‘simply professional’ relationship, although Cynthia’s other responsibilities keep her focused. The passionate attraction between the two absolutely sizzles – and will keep readers completely engaged.

All was not entirely fast-paced however. Backstory is often fed to us through one character or another’s reflections, significantly distancing readers. New chapters often open with two or three paragraphs that are no more than that sort of ‘telling.’ The author did give us a super hospital setting with realistic situations. The passion between the two is great and all the elements of a medical-romance are there.

Outlaw Luke Weston survives by his wits. On the run for a murder he didn’t commit, the last thing he needs is to go looking for more trouble. But when Luke stumbles across a fiercely beautiful woman struggling against two heavily armed men, it’s obvious that trouble has found him.

After all, he never could resist a damsel in distress.

Josie Morgan’s distressed, all right―and hopping mad. She has no idea why she’s been kidnapped…or who she is…or why her body melts for the mysterious gunslinger who saved her life. But as the lost memories come tumbling back together, Josie is faced with the stark reality of why she and Luke can never be…even as her heart is telling her she will always be his.

The last name, Legend, is a pretty cool family name to marry into. I for one wouldn’t mind marrying one of the three Legend brothers. Even the Father sounded pretty swoon worthy. Strong, brave, and willing to fight for justice. Did I mention tall, gorgeous and quick with a gun? I’d ride on a horse into the sunset with any one of them. To Marry a Texas Outlaw is book three in the Men of Legend. I didn’t read the first two books and I could tell they were referenced , but I didn’t feel lost or confused at all. I was only made curious to learn more about what they were talking about. I felt a little left out as if I wasn’t in on the inside joke.

Josie Morgan, was the lucky damsel in distress to be rescued by the outlaw Luke Weston. The best part of the plot was Josie trying to regain her lost memory. As feisty as she was, there wasn’t anything she could do to force herself to remember. The reader was filled with anticipation waiting to see if and when she’d ever remember her past. I felt frustrated for her yet at the same time wishing she wouldn’t remember in case it ruined her future with Luke.

Luke had quite the past of his own. The suspense of him being an outlaw with bounty hunters after him was completely engrossing. The mystery involving her kidnapping by two heavily armed men was as equally as captivating. The chemistry between the two could start a forest fire if they weren’t cautious. Together they made for an entertaining read.

Some books read at such a fast pace that I get whiplash. Other books read at such a slow pace I want to bang my head against the wall. Then there are books such as this one that move along at a run/walk/run pace. If you’re familiar with Jeff Galloway then you know about his run/walk/run method that I’m referring to. That is what came to my mind as I was reading this book. At first the “I love her but she deserves better than me” and the “I love him but he won’t open up his heart and let me in” made me feel “aww, how sweet”. However, it quickly became a broken record and those moments became the walk pace in the book. Time to go switch the wash, check the mail, fold the laundry, or go to bed moments. Fortunately, it was easy to get back into the book because before I knew it, the pace was off and running again. It felt great and then we were back to the “stark reality of why she and Luke can never be…even as their hearts were telling them otherwise”. If it wasn’t for the suspense/mystery plot threads then it would have been a head banger. I guess the writing style wasn’t for me. I was frustrated with the ideology of picking flower petals and chanting “he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not…” At that point all I wanted to ask was, How is this book going to end?”

I am pleased to say that To Marry a Texas Outlaw did have a wonderful, happy, long drawn out ending. I don’t recall the last time I was so happy to finish a book. If you ever ran a half marathon you’ll know what I’m talking about. It’s the most wonderful feeling to run the marathon but it’s the best feeling to cross the finish line. This is how To Marry a Texas Outlaw made me feel. I won the race with Luke and Josie. If you love this kind of melodrama then this book is for you. I can’t speak for the first two books but based on this third book in the series I’d be likely to recommend the Legend brothers to all romance genre readers.

Despite a number of the locals being skeptical about Reiki and Alternative medicines, the small town was home to Jasmine and she was determined to try and make her business work. And then Jasmine met Lilith, the vampire, and everything in her world changed.

This is an interesting and quite unique sort of story. There was quite the paranormal world going on in it and I was impressed how the author managed to introduce the different aspects to the world without getting too bogged down with a large info-dump. There’s a whole host of various paranormal critters lodged into this story (Succubus/Incubus, vampires, demons, witches, warlocks, werewolves and the like) but I found everything quite well explained and somewhat brief – considering the short length of the story.

Unsurprisingly given the title, the hero is a dethroned alpha werewolf, Christian. After having lost absolutely everything in his life – his job, his family, his pack, his position – Christian is understandably deeply pissed and completely off-kilter. Jasmine is certain she can help him – but only if she can manage to stop drooling. I found myself instantly drawn into both these characters and loved the way they meshed together. While the story is told in Jasmine’s first person perspective, I still managed to get a very good idea of Christian’s character and didn’t feel this lessened my enjoyment of the story at all. While there is plenty of touching and a delicious romance between Christian and Jasmine, there is not a lot of steamy sex. Personally, I enjoyed that there was a really solid, thorough plot – but readers looking for a strongly erotic, intensely graphic story might find this doesn’t quite meet their expectations.

I really enjoyed this story. With memorable characters, plenty of plot and a strongly-written paranormal world filled with all manner of creatures this story kept me interested and eagerly turning the pages. While it might be a little light on the erotic sex scenes for some readers, I found there to be an abundance of chemistry between the hero and heroine and more than a few laughs at the strong cast of secondary characters and antics that everyone gets up to.

A fun, lively and unique read I can happily recommend this to a wide range of readers.

Lord Duncan Friseal knows little about courting men, but he knows something about his affair with the mysterious and seductive William is amiss. Despite his sexual bravado, William remains guarded and refuses to fully embrace their erotic magnetism and Lord Friseal’s unequivocal affection. Complicating matters are Lord Friseal’s impending nuptials to the conniving Lady Moira MacKenzie and the repercussions of his father’s sudden illness. Even amidst such adversity, Lord Friseal is inspired to fight with everything he has to win William’s love.

Scarred by his past, William is determined to protect himself by keeping Lord Friseal at bay. But even as he begins to accept the sincerity of Lord Friseal’s devotion, some demons just refuse to die…

A direct sequel to Prick of the Thistle, this continues the love story of Duncan the laird of Faoltaigh Castle and William the feminine actor.

To be honest, this book should have been a part of the first which was rather slow and ended practically mid-scene, everything up in the air and unresolved. However, your opinion of the first book might change or be tempered if you read this second book right after it. I guarantee that several things will become clearer. In short, this book is better than the first in the series.
Effect of male impotence on your sex life is fueled by cialis purchase online testosterone and estrogen. Unfortunately, this is not the actual manner we should check over here pfizer viagra canada poop. How to prevent weak erection is by wholesale cialis pills massaging the male organ daily two times helps to gain fuller and firmer erection for pleasurable lovemaking.
One of these things becoming clearer will be Duncan’s wife, Moira. In the first book, she’s pretty much vilified as a conniving, power-hungry woman who blackmails Duncan into marriage. But in this book, she’s transformed. We learn why she behaved the way she did, and the marriage takes a turn toward… an emotional threesome of sorts? In fact, a word that didn’t exist back in her day to describe what she is gives her a layer that breathes life into a relatable, three-dimensional character. I despised her in the first book, liked her in this one.

As for the main characters… Man, at times Duncan really needs to grow a pair. Sometimes he’s strong and confident and decisive. Then at other times, for example with his mother, he’s an indecisive coward. Her reaction was to be expected, given the times and religious influence, but his was not. Duncan has a perplexing inconsistency to his character, sometimes sure, other times weak. That discrepancy shows here a lot. It’s not just about internal conflict with different people, but a definite disparity.

The same disparity appears with William, the second hero. We learn a lot more about him in this book which is good. But he’s a bit of weather vane, if you get my drift. He claims to want to stay at the castle with Duncan—yet at the very next scene he runs away. He does this a couple of times. He vows to stick around, but then doesn’t. After the first few times this aspect got a little aggravating.

In this book, one of the main schisms actually comes from Duncan’s mother who finds out about her son and William. This results in a major plot development, related to my point above. However, the main story revolves around freeing William from his past, namely the abusive monster who’s still hunting him after all this time. The climax was well written and satisfying as a conclusion, if somewhat vague about the motivation of the villain. I didn’t really understand why this beast was so intent on getting William back. But figuring that out was a small matter.

In any case, what I liked about this story the most was William and his transformation. He changes from a cold-hearted man who liked nothing but sex into a man who learns to love after a lifetime of abuse. He goes from an actor lost on the moors to a fine clothier at the castle. He comes to accept that running away isn’t the solution. In the first book, William remained a mystery all the way to the end. Here we discover what makes him tick, what he fears, what he dreams of.

As an historical story, this isn’t perfect. The language is awfully modern at times, but I did appreciate all the different languages, how they gave a window into the Highland culture and way of life. It seemed organic and flowed nicely. In fact, the writing style is quite beautiful, with lovely use of words, if a bit slow at times, but I think that is the author’s unique voice at work. High marks from me.

In short, I recommend this story to everyone who likes their historicals with their heroes facing both sweet and trying times but enjoying a happy ending. And there’s more sex here than in the first book. As for the future, I don’t know if this series will have more books but if so I will be checking them out. As stated already, recommended—read both books, one right after the other, for the best experience.

After a failed apprenticeship, working her way up to head housekeeper of a posh London hotel is more than Sara Smythe ever thought she’d make of herself. But when a chance encounter with Theodore Camden, one of the architects of the grand New York apartment house The Dakota, leads to a job offer, her world is suddenly awash in possibility–no mean feat for a servant in 1884. The opportunity to move to America, where a person can rise above one’s station. The opportunity to be the female manager of The Dakota, which promises to be the greatest apartment house in the world. And the opportunity to see more of Theo, who understands Sara like no one else . . . and is living in The Dakota with his wife and three young children.

In 1985, Bailey Camden is desperate for new opportunities. Fresh out of rehab, the former party girl and interior designer is homeless, jobless, and penniless. Two generations ago, Bailey’s grandfather was the ward of famed architect Theodore Camden. But the absence of a genetic connection means Bailey won’t see a dime of the Camden family’s substantial estate. Instead, her -cousin- Melinda–Camden’s biological great-granddaughter–will inherit almost everything. So when Melinda offers to let Bailey oversee the renovation of her lavish Dakota apartment, Bailey jumps at the chance, despite her dislike of Melinda’s vision. The renovation will take away all the character and history of the apartment Theodore Camden himself lived in . . . and died in, after suffering multiple stab wounds by a madwoman named Sara Smythe, a former Dakota employee who had previously spent seven months in an insane asylum on Blackwell’s Island.

One hundred years apart, Sara and Bailey are both tempted by and struggle against the golden excess of their respective ages–for Sara, the opulence of a world ruled by the Astors and Vanderbilts; for Bailey, the free-flowing drinks and cocaine in the nightclubs of New York City–and take refuge and solace in the Upper West Side’s gilded fortress. But a building with a history as rich–and often tragic–as The Dakota’s can’t hold its secrets forever, and what Bailey discovers in its basement could turn everything she thought she knew about Theodore Camden–and the woman who killed him–on its head.

With rich historical detail, nuanced characters, and gorgeous prose, Fiona Davis once again delivers a compulsively readable novel that peels back the layers of not only a famed institution, but the lives –and lies–of the beating hearts within.

Seizing opportunities, pursuing life, and daring to reach further than she herself quite believes possible, Sara Smythe is a heroine we find ourselves hoping and cheering for. Her involvement (shall we start by saying her professional involvement) with Architect Camden offers the chance of a complete change in her life…..

And a hundred years later, Bailey Camden, not quite a descendant of this architect, also hopes his greatest creation will carry her own life forward as well.

The Address is the rather tamely-named historic novel, centered on life in the city (or rather 2 cities) 100 years apart.

These two women live much different lives, though there are many similarities. Their characters will enthrall readers, nearly as much as the background location. The one vital connection between the two is the hotel, The Dakota, in New York City. The city itself is so featured to be a draw to readers. I have to admit I found the backdrop, the city, the history, and the architectural points, as unique and interesting as the story-line.

In general, I don’t often care for stories where great leaps in time take place, and here, I could have happily remained with Sara in the more distant past. However, I must admit this time ‘leap’ was well-done, so no complaints. I did not find the character of Bailey to be particularly wonderful, so the more contemporary piece was less engaging for that reason, as well.

The Address is cleverly and engagingly written. Events are entirely unpredictable; some characters are riveting. Its definitely one to add to your reading list.

This is a nice book, with characters that have a history and this keeps interfering with the present. Their misunderstanding is totally believable although as a reader I didn’t know if they were going to resolve their differences by the end of the book.

Unfortunately the timeline continuity of the story is not good. For instance it appears they last met four years before, when both were single, but Marcus’s daughter died at the age of 5 years old so the time since their original meeting must have been much longer. There are several other discrepancies in the timeline, too many to ignore. Plus in a couple of places there are obviously words missing between paragraphs.

In the background there is the mystery of why the children’s ward is to close? Where has all the money gone? What evil person would steal from sick children?

Although I enjoyed this book, if the problems were fixed it would be excellent rather than nice as the characters are strong and the conflict is real.

Good books have a rhythm and this one never lost a beat.

Books really do have a rhythm. There are those which seem to stop and start and those which flow as smoothly as a waltz. There is nothing more enjoyable than to read a book with no “hiccups” in the rhythm. Well, this first book in the Piney Woods Mystery Series was a waltz. I enjoyed every moment of it and the author truly never missed a step.

This small town setting with a nice mix of warm people has a lot in common with many other small towns trying to stay alive in today’s world. The story has a few characters that are immediately likeable and each has their own distinct personality. A lawman of course, gossipy old ladies, a sweet old couple nagging at each other lovingly and a smart lady trying to rebuild a life and a business. Well, you know, all the characters that make a good book. Don’t fret though, the story has its own set of dastardly characters too.

I guess this could be defined as a cozy. It did make me curl up and read. It was one of those books you can’t wait to finish but are sad when you actually do because it’s over. I hope there is a follow-up.
