Top Ten Tuesday: Backlist Books I Would Like to Read

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Welcome to another edition of Top Ten Tuesday!  This week is all about Backlist books.  Let’s get right to my list!

The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo-I recently read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom.  I thoroughly enjoyed both and can’t wait to explore that world some more.

Fey by C. S. Feldman-Her Heroes for Hire series is absolutely wonderful, and I’d love to read more of her work.

Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs-I have raved about her Mercy Thompson series many times, but I’ve never read any of Patricia Brigg’s other series.  I need to change that!

Sianim series by Patricia Briggs-This is some of her earliest work.  While some have criticized it for not being as well written as her most recent novels, I think it would be worth checking out, and I it would be interesting to see how much she’s grown as an author.

Unearthly series by Cynthia Hand-I had so much fun reading My Lady Jane!  Since Cynthia Hand is one of the co-authors of My Lady Jane, I’d like to check out some of her other books.

The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand-I think this book sounds intriguing and a good fit for the holiday season.

Fallen Isles series by Jodi Meadows-Another co-author of My Lady Jane.  This series promises magic and dragons!

Everneath series by Brodi Ashton-It sounds like people either love or hate this series, but I admit to being a bit curious.

Have you read any of these books?  If so, what did you think?  If not, are you interested in any of them?

  1. Great list! The Grisha trilogy almost made my list this week, too, before I decided to focus on 2017 releases. I read and adored Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom earlier this year and I really want to read the Grisha trilogy before Bardugo’s next book is released. I hope you enjoy all of these when you get to them!

  2. I’ve been wanting to read The Afterlife of Holly Chase. It definitely would be the perfect book for next month if I can fit it in!!

  3. I’ve been wanting to read something By Leigh Bardugo myself. Maybe I’ll start with that Wonder Woman book 🙂

I’ve really enjoyed Leigh Bardugo so far. I hope you get a chance to check out some of her work.

  4. I’ve only read the first book of The Grisha Trilogy. I hope I can finish the series soon because I love the Six of Crows trilogy.

    Happy readings! 😉

  6. I haven’t read any of these yet, but I do hope to read The Grisha Trilogy sometime next year. I don’t think I’ll be able to get to it this year, since November is NaNoWriMo and there’s a few books I would like to read in December, but probably early next year!

I hope we both get the chance to read the Grisha Trilogy soon! I hope to get to it before the year ends, but I don’t know if I will either.

  8. The Unearthly series was one of my favorites back in the day. Hope you enjoy if you pick it up.

  9. I have an ARC of Holly Chase, and I really want to make that one happen this year. I like Hand, and the book sounds great. I hope to work it in for some sort of holiday reading.

  10. I still need to read Crooked Kingdom! It’s been sitting on my TBR shelf for months.

  11. I’ve read the first Mercy Thompson book and liked it. I’ve heard the Alpha/ Omega books are good too, and even that they’re better by a few bloggers.

    • Poinsettia says

Better than Mercy Thompson?! Mercy Thompson is one of my favorite series so I’m even more curious now.

      Thanks for visiting!

  12. I hope you enjoy all these! I started the Grisha trilogy and never finished it because I’m so bad with series!

    • Poinsettia says

Did you enjoy what you’ve read of the Grisha trilogy? As I said, I really liked the Six of Crows series so I hope the Grisha trilogy is good as well.

Thank you for visiting and commenting. 🙂

  13. I literally just ordered myself a copy of The Afterlife of Holly Chase a couple of days ago. I really want to try and read it over the holidays ?

The Heroes for Hire series is awesome! I love it so much. If you get a chance to read it, you’ll have to let me know what you think.

      Thanks for visiting!

  15. Like you, I’ve read the Six of Crows-duology but haven’t read the Grisha-trilogy yet. I’m really keen to though. I just hope I’ll love them as much! 🙂

  17. The Grisha books are a lot of fun. Though i think you can clearly see how Bardugo has improved writing wise in Six of Crows.

  18. I loved the Grisha trilogy! Six of Crows might be a bit better, but the Grisha trilogy was still soo much fun. Plus, I’d definitely recommend reading it so you’re caught up for King of Scars in 2019 (aka my most anticipated book ever and that’s not even an exaggeration, haha) 🙂

    • I definitely want to read the Grisha trilogy soon! I hope King of Scars lives up to your expectations!

      Thanks for visiting. 🙂

  19. YES! I have to read the afterlife of holly chase too!

  20. I’ve heard the Alpha & Omega series is fantastic. I read book one years ago but then never finished them for some reason even though I make sure to read every Mercy one. lol Hope you enjoy them!
