As he helps his new vampire-like friends save his own people, he can’t help but become emotionally involved, especially when it comes to the disturbingly appealing Demi. A hybrid of human and alien, the boy is both older and younger than he seems. To Trey, he remains a temptation he must resist.

Detective Trey Duncan has tried his hardest to not act on his attraction to the young hybrid Demi but no matter how hard he tries there is no denying the pull that he feels towards the young man. He is not going to give up on his dreams and that includes a life with Trey. As Demi and Trey try to figure it all out danger comes calling. I have enjoyed watching Trey and Demi’s relationship develop throughout this series and it was nice to see the two get their story told. Trey has been trying so hard to be the noble one and not act on his attraction to Demi who he sees as too young but each time that Trey helps the aliens, he finds himself loosing that battle.

Demi is not as young as he looks. Being a hybrid, he has aged much differently and must do things to fit in to the human world. I enjoyed seeing the true Demi behind the façade, he is a smart man who cares deeply. When Trey lets his guard down, we see the depth of his love for Demi. He has always shown he cares for the man, but we see that it goes so much deeper. It was nice to see the two men find their way towards a happy ever after. As they work towards it, they must also find a way to find and fight their enemy.

The author has done a good job of keeping this series fresh and engaging for the reader. With each book we see the aliens defeat more and more of the enemy and each of them find their happy ever after’s. This book is a nice addition to the series and gives readers a beautiful story that has been in the making for some time. Trey and Demi make a wonderful couple and I enjoyed seeing their story come alive in this book.
