At his pack leader’s request, Samuel, pack security agent, accepts an assignment to escort Nia to meet the new Shaman of her bear sleuth at Logan Airport in Boston. Something about Hannia rubs Samuel the wrong way — he doesn’t want Nia alone with the Shaman, and his wolf can’t get Nia out of his mind.

Beneath the complex relationships lies a horrible curse Hannia has been running from for centuries. The only way he can break the curse is to kill his mate, but Samuel’s wolf is not going to let anything happen to Nia.

As the sparks fly, and the curse awakens, Hannia must make a decision which will change the lives of all four of them.

You’ve been raised to know you will have a mate… hopefully. You’ve been raised to take over from your dad. You’ve been raised to know certain things… but were you raised to know what to do if you have more than one mate, and one of them is evil? Okay, so not really evil, but possessed – does that sound better?

Overall, this was a good story. The execution of it though, that was a bit messy. Nia and Samuel, Ananias and Hannia, two couples who are to become one big love-fest. Part of the trouble for me was the lack of chemistry, leading up to flash, bang, whallop, chemistry with little or no build up. There are also characters mentioned with no back-story, who appear to be rather important to the story moving forward.

In my opinion, this book would be better for fleshing out the characters a bit more, giving them more time to get to know each other and their complex relationship. By building the back-story more, it would give the reader a more intimate knowledge of both the world and the characters themselves.

Still, a good read that I did enjoy.
